Access Project Info Box without Skin

Hi everyone,
Version: Cap4
I have created a widget which supposed to access the project's info, but couldn't make it work not unless I enable my Playback control, is there any approach to make it work without ticking the playback controls, since my widget comes along with other buttons that controls my entire project.
Hoping to hear your responses soon.

Can't Open "Project Info"

I am unable to access PROJECT INFO (command-I). Whenever I try to open PROJECT INFO, iDVD crashes and dumps me out to the Finder. I was able to access PROJECT INFO until a week ago. All other aspects of iDVD seem to be working properly.
I have tried creating new projects and have had the same problem.
I have deleted the iDVD & imovie preferences from the user perference folder AND boot disk Library (I have two physical drives). Rebuilt permissions. Also have erased iDVD & iMovie apps & reinstalled iLife '06 suite from master install disc and performed all of the current software updates.
I am running iDVD 6.0.3 (791)
Any suggestions?

I have an apple developer account to make a new app, but I need to give access to the designer without sharing my payment info or allowing him to have access to my icloud, apps or itunes account. There is some way to have another password?

The designer is usually someone who just handles the user interface portion of the code. The developer would handle core functionality. I assumed you were the developer and the designer was the designer. You are the client and your "designer" is the developer.
Ideally, you should create a business account so that you can add someone to your team. That is the way it is supposed to work. Otherwise, you will have to ask for the final source code so that you can build and submit the app yourself. You should always have the source code regardless. You should always perform the submission under your own account too. Otherwise, it is the developer's app, not yours.
Sharing accounts is against the Apple Developer agreement anyway. The App Store Gold Rush is over. Now it is mostly zombie apps and competing fraudsters. You don't want to give someone access to your iTunes account. You really don't want to give someone access to your bank account either.
The best solution would be to convert your account to a business account. You may be able to have the developer submit the app and then transfer it to you.

Home Sharing is designed to work on your local network not across the internet/cloud.
Stuff is accessed under the Computers column where your local iTunes library on a local computer would appear.
Home Sharing would share your iTunes content (i.e. stuff stored in itunes on the computer, not in the cloud) with AppleTV or an iPad etc on the SAME network.
AppleTV2 will not be able to see itunes content on the work computer over the internet. It's not designed to. if the work computer was on the home network it would.
iCloud is in it's infancy and is not a mature product - iTunes TV Show purchases appear on AppleTV, but currently music does not unless you are subscribed to iTunes Match. I find this rather odd to be honest, along with the inability to buy music on AppleTV2. Movies purchased in iTunes are not authorised for iCloud viewing currently either.
Maybe it has something to do with iTunes Match 'getting in the way' - i think they assume you'll use that whereas you really want to be able to access Purchased music from the cloud without subscribing to itunes Match which is overkill for some.

I can't paste text into info boxes anymore with the latest version of itunes

Ever since I downloaded the latest version of itunes (on Windows 7), I can no longer paste text into the info boxes when I edit song information. I can’t paste by right-clicking or Ctrl+V, this is driving me crazy because I’m trying to add info on a Russian artist with Cyrillic letters and I can’t do it! I didn’t buy the song from itunes so it can’t be issues with Copyrighting although the same thing happens with songs from the store and every other song in my library. I can paste text into the lyrics section but that’s it. I restarted my computer after reinstalling the latest versions of itunes and Firefox today hoping it would fix my problem but it didn’t. Is this happening to anyone else? I hope someone can help me! Oh and it isn’t just with Russian, I tried to paste English info just to see if it was a problem with recognizing Cyrillic and still nothing pastes, the boxes just stay blank.
Itunes is annoying me more than ever. With the constant updates you’d think they would be able to improve all bugs but once one problem is fixed another occurs and it’s so irritating because I couldn’t care less about how my library looks as long as everything is organized in a simple way and I can sync my ipod without spending forever on itunes re-editing stuff and readjusting to updated layout changes. My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

As an add on to Terence's comments about the xml file that other apps use you can do the following to recreate new files to see if that will help:
1 - close iPhoto.
2 - open the iPhoto Library package by Control-clicking on it and selecting *+Show Package Contents+* from the drop down menu.
3 - move AlbumData.xml and AlbumDataw2.xml files to the Desktop.
4 - launch iPhoto, which regenerates those two files, and see if the other apps can now access your photos.
You can delete those two files from the Desktop when you determine that the albums and keepsakes in the library as as they were before.

What do you do when Ram preview lags but info box still states "fps 24: realtime"

What do you do when you are trying to RAM Preview and you can clearly tell the sync with audio is inconsistent with other times that you have RAM previewed the footage. Basically sometimes in RAM Preview it lags and other times it doesn't, making it look like everything lines up but then next time you RAM Preview it won't line up. the funny part is the "info" box still will say "fps: realtime"

Upgrading an operating system in the middle of a project is not usually a
good idea. Alternatively, it might fix issues. Remember that you will need
to repair permissions after the upgrade. Apple OS upgrades (especially
Mavericks for some reason) caused a lot of issues with software like After

Will a new IPAD work out of the box without syncing it to a computer?

While I understand the reason for syncing an IPAD to your computer via ITUNES, I was wondering if the IPAD will work out of the box without syncing? I bought an IPAD for my wife for Christmas and she wants to sync it to her work computer (her own small business). She's new to Apple and she doesn't have an ITUNES account yet. By the way, she knows she's getting an IPAD for Christmas. We don't want to go to her work on Christmas day to get her IPAD "going."
Question: Can she open the IPAD on Christmas day and have it work or will we have to get her an ITUNES account and have her sync it to her work computer prior to Christmas for it to work on Christmas day?
I would prefer to keep it boxed up until Christmas but I'd like her to be able to use it on Christmas day and then after Christmas go to her work to download ITUNES and sync it to her computer.

I purchased an iPad with 3G for a family member without a computer with Internet connection who lives in a rural area where 3G is available. I shipped the iPad however upon receipt the only thing he could do with it was charge it. Due to physical limitations related to a medical condition he rarely leaves his residence. The marketing for the iPad implies a stand alone capable device, however, until I was able to visit several months after shipping the iPad the family member was not able to use it. During my visit I took the iPad to an AT&T store and they were able to set it so it showed the icons and allowed setup of Interner access. I can understand the Wi-Fi version likely being purchased by someone that already has a computer with Internet access, but the 3G should be able to funciton out of the box as a stand alone unit and it does not.

Keyboard shortcuts and tabs with get info box

I'm having several problems with the new get info box - and regret that I can no longer bring up the old version with the shift/right-click/get-info command.
1) No keyboard shortcut to advance from one track to the next, from inside the Get Info box. This used to be handled with Alt-N or Alt-P for Next and Previous. Now it seems to require mouse click on the error.
2) When tabbing through fields, it skips fields toward the bottom (album artist)
3) For works with the same title (most of my library is classical), I've tended to organize them by adding an extra space at the end of the Album line for the 2nd work with that title, or an extra two spaces for the 3rd work with that same title. This way they sort as distinct albums, since most works have multiple tracks. With the new Get Info, if I enter that extra space on the field in the box, it cuts it off when clicking ok. But if I just F2 the field on itunes list view, I can add it with no problem. This is a pain because I have to do it one track at a time, can't do it for multiple tracks at once.

The functions printed in small letters on those keys are accessed by the fn key.
The following work on my MBP (albeit using Word 2008, but IIRC the same shortcuts worked in Word 2004):
Jump to start of document = Command-Fn-LeftArrow (aka Command-Home)
Jump to end of document = Command-Fn-RightArrow (aka Command-End)
Likewise,
Jump to start of line = Fn-LeftArrow
Jump to end of line = Fn-RightArrow

I've cleared almost 30 gig off of my hard drive in the past 2 weeks, and it will temporarily show that in the Get Info box. But hours later, I am still getting a disk full error and all of the memory has disappeared.

Step 1
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
Step 2
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash as well:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders. It may take some minutes for ODS to list all the files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

I only show one iCloud on my IPhone that can do a restore. I synced it with my MacBook Pro and I think that may have messed things up. Prior to that I have several backups. Will a "genius" be able to access the info I need?

If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.

Try terminating and restarting the Mail app.
1. Press the Home button
2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
3. Touch and hold on the Mail icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
4. Touch the "-" to terminate Mail.
5. Restart Mail and see if the problem is corrected..
