Access Services & Web Database Issues
So, recently an access web database (AWDB) was added to the SharePoint 2010 Farm. It was working fine until about a week or so ago. There are 2 web front-end servers on the farm (let's call them WFE1 and WFE2), which are load-balanced (just stating
this to clear up any future confusion).
Now, when I force my client PC to send requests to AWDB through WFE1 I get an error in the issue details comments box stating, "Access Services reports are not enabled." However, when I force my PC to send requests through WFE2, I don't get this
error but rather all comments are listed. There's more though; while I am able to view comments via WFE2, I encounter error messages pertaining to macros when I attempt to make a change to any issue; e.g. "Failed to start macro 'AddComment" or "Failed
to start macro 'AfterUpdate".
Any help is appreciated...
Hi,
Thank you for your response.
"As the “Access Services reports are not enabled” error occurred in WFE1, I recommend to check if the
Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint 2010 is installed in this WFE." ~ So, WFE1 was the only one that didn't have the Add-in installed. I was able to install it and that got rid of the error on WFE1.
As for the macro errors, I have a more detailed error message from the ULS logs:
RunWorkflow: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: <Error><CompilerError Line="15" Column="2" Text="CreateInstance failed for type 'Microsoft.Office.Access.Server.Macro.Runtime.InitializeMacroActivity'. Loading this assembly would produce a different

Working offline with data from Access 2010 web database
Hello all,
I have an Access 2010 web database that I have published to a SharePoint site. Users currently work with the data via one of several Access 2010 front end applications that simply have linked tables and client queires, forms and reports. On a couple
of occasions, we have had issues with our SharePoint site that have left users unable to access the data. A couple of times it was due to our site collection suddenly and inexplicably becoming read only and the last time (while I was on vacation, of course)
due to some license changes my folks were unable to access the site.
I'm getting ready to go on vacation again. What i would like to do is have a sort of emergency back up plan should things go awry again while I'm gone.
What I envision is a back up database that has actual data tables, rather than simply linked lists, that I can sync with my SharePoint lists on a regular basis. That way, should the SharePoint lists become inaccessible, users could continue to work with
the data offline and any changes can be synced once a connection is restored.
I have read through
this article, but in each scenario I was unable to actually open tables to work with the data once offline. Is this a situation where I should simply have folks work offline with a local copy containing all of the data and then republish? Or, is there
a way to simply sync? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm really hoping to leave my laptop at home on this next trip.
Thanks,
GregHi,
I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay, appreciate your patience.

Access to MySql Database in the Web Service
Hi all,
In my j2me web service project, i want to access to MySql database in the web service and
my installation is
Tomcat 5.0 for Java WSDP,
Java Web Services Developer Pack 1.5,
MySql Server 5.0 and environment variables are adjusted...
server.xml where is in "C:\tomcat50-jwsdp\conf" is adjusted like this
<!-- Replace the above Realm with one of the following to get a Realm
stored in a database and accessed via JDBC -->
<Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JDBCRealm"
debug="99"
driverName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
connectionURL="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/erendb"
connectionName="root"
connectionPassword=""
/>
but i have not access to MySql database in the web service yet...
please help...Hi Luis,
If you see closely, the productID is actually a concatenation of the areaID and the productID. The reasoning here is that a product can be in multiple nodes of the product catalog and one would need to specify the product on a particular node for the direct URL to work.
On a client site, we came up with a better solution by creating a new FM to retrieve the specific areaID and productID for a product. This FM could be called by extending the webshop. Then a .NET program was written to re-direct a shortened form of the URL to the long URL and therefore the specific product in the product catalog. Eg.: http://yyyyy.com/b2c/b2c/product would be automatically redirected to http://yyyyy.com/b2c/b2c/init.do?shop=<shop name>&areaID=<area Guid>&productID=<product Guid>, something similar to the concept behind "tinyurl.com". A point to remember here is that this would work only for the B2C webshop.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Issue with accessing OES Web services
Hi,
I have a question regarding access OES web services from external application. I am trying to validate the OES WS for Authorization, but I am getting an error - "Error getting response; org.apache.commons.httpclient.NoHttpResponseException: The server failed to respond"
Is there any specific sequence which I need to follow while accessing this web service, such as first the user needs to be authenticated and then access can be determined or like?
Thanks in advance!!Hi Kevin,
Would you be able to tell me how you generate the web service client? And when you manage to generate the client, does it automatically generate <generated_name>_Stub.xml?
Thanks,

Hi.
I've exactly the same problem that is descripted
here, so I'll add its description here.
My SharePoint is 2010
I am trying to access the web services that are located in this url:
http://<part_of_th_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx. I have no problem accessing
this URL using my broswer, that is, when I type the URL and my browser's address bar and press enter, I can see the list of the services that are available. I encounter no problem by accessing this site through my browser at all.
However, when I try to access the services from that URL (http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx),
a Discovery Credential Dialog box prompts me for my username and password. SO what I do is I enter my username and password that I used to access the sharepoint using my browser, the problem is, the dialog box doesn't seem to accept the username and password
that I enter as the dialog box is keep on appearing.
Below are the detailed steps on how I go about in adding the Web Services.
1. From the Solution Explorer, I right click on the "Service References" folder.
2. From the context menu that appears, I Click on "Add Service Reference...". The "Add Service Reference" Dialog box will appear.
3. From the "Add Service Reference" dialog box, I click on the "Advanced,,," button which can be seen at the bottom-left of the dialog
box. The "Service Reference Settings" Dialog box will appear.
4. From the "Service Reference Settings" dialog box, I click on the "Add Web Reference..." dialog box. The "Add Web Reference"
Dialog box will appear. This is the dialog box where I can type the URL of the service that I want to access. So I type "http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx".
AFter typing that, I click on the Go button (which is the green arrow button at the right of the address bar of this dialog box).
5. After doing that, a prompt dialog box will appear which has the title "Windows Security" and it is aking for my username and password. SO
what I do is I enter the Username and the Password that I use in accessing the sharepoint site (http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx)
6. The prompt seems to accept the Username and Password, but after that, a new dialog box appeared with the title "Discovery Credential" and
it says "The Service 'http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx' requires a username and
password". SO what I do is I enter again the un and pw that I use to access the sharepoint site, the one that I used inm the previous dialog box.
7 After entering the username and the password and clicking the OK button. The dialog box reappears still asking for a username and a password, but this
time, it shows a different message. It says "The Service 'http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx/$metadata'
requires a username and password". SO it really, what oonly changed is the URL, it has now the $metadata at the end. What do I do? I eneter the username and password again.
8. After clicking Ok again, the dialog box reappears, now it says "The Service 'http://<part_of_the_url_omitted>/_layouts/1033/error.aspx'
requires a username and password." Now it shows a very different username. Of ocurse, I still type in the username and password and click Ok.
9. after doing that, the dialog box reappears again and it shows the same message as in step 6. So I do steps 6, 7 and 8 in a loop.
10. When I finally get tired of entering the username and password, I click on cancel. The message box reappears again. So I click on cancel again. After
doing that, I can then, surprisingly, see the list of the web services. However, not surprisingly, I still can't use it because the "Add Reference" button which I need to click in order to use the Web services is disabled. So I can only see the list
of the services but I can't use it.Hi Gaston,
I would suggest you the following thread, check whether it meet your scenario, it shows that if you have set IE options to remember the username and password, and you have enter wrong password before, this issue may happen:

Not able to access SOAP web service data control from adf mobile
Hi,
I am trying to call web services from adf mobile..
I have created data control from external web service and it is perfectlly working on web browser..
But why it is showing an error on emulator??
Is there any .jar file missing in adf mobile so that it is not supporting a web service?
Or is there any other problem? Emulator is connected to network and I am able to run WSDL in emulator's browser..
Please help me to solve this issue..
Thanks,
LaxmiEmulator is connected to network and I am able to run WSDL in emulator's browser..
Connecting to WSDL in the browser is not the same as connecting to WSDL in an application.

The system works fine when I use a http endpoint.Hi,
By default, your application tries to connect to the Net directly : if you have to specify a proxy, use either these lines in your code :
System.setProperty("http.proxySet", "true");
System.setProperty("http.proxyHost", "proxy");
System.setProperty("http.proxyPort", "8080");
Or specify them in the command line with the "-D"option.
Ex : java .... -Dhttp.proxySet=true .... MyApp
Hope it helps.

SCOM 2012 Issue The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized
Hello All,
My SCOM 2012 console all of sudden stopped working when I changed the size of the SQL database for the SCOM server.
The setup is all on a virtual machine running windows 2012, with SQL 2012 running SCOM 2012 SP1. Everything was working until I made the SQL server database size change.
Now I am getting an error when I try to open the SCOM 2012 console. It just says Failed to connect to server servername.internaldomain.com The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information.

Hello everyone,
I developed a Web Service prototype accessing remote EJB using the EJB
control with special syntax in the jndi-name attribute: @jws:ejb
home-jndi-name="t3://10.10.245.70:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB"
Everything works fine, but I get an error when I restrict access to my web
service with a declarative security model by implementing steps provided in
help doc:
- Define the web resource you wish to protect
- Define which security role is required to access the web resource
- Define which users are granted the required security role
- Configure WebLogic Server security for my web service(Compatibility
Security/Users)
I launch the service by entering the address in a web browser. When prompted
to accept the digital certificate, click Yes, when prompted for network
authentication information, enter username and password, navigate to the
Test Form tab of Test View, invoke the method by clicking the button and I
get the following exception:

I have a simple Hello method as well in my WebService (which is also
restricted) and it works fine, but remote EJB access doesn't. I tested my
prototype on Weblogic 7.2 and 8.1 platforms - same result.
Is that a bug or I am missing some additional configuration in order to get
that working. Has anyone seen similar behavior? Is there a known resolution?
Or a suggested way to work around the problem?
Thank you.
AndreAndre,
It would be best if this issue is handled as an Eval Support case. Please

files, and request that an Eval support case be created for this issue.

Andre,
It seems you are using the URL
jndi:t3://secuser1:[email protected]:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB
whereas you should not be specifying the "t3:" protocol.
The URL should be like
jndi://secuser1:[email protected]:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB
Please do let me know if you see any issues with this.
Note that this will only allow you to access remote EJBs in the same WLS
domain. For accessing EJBs on another domain, you need to configure
inter-domain communication by
following a few simple steps as mentioned at
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/jta.html#1106135. This link has
been provided in the EJB Control Workshop documentation.

Andre,
Can you try using the following url with username and password
jndi://username:password@host:7001/my.resource.jndi.object ?
once you add webapp level security, the authenticated is the user who
invokes the EJB.
http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/workshop/guide/controls/ejb/con
CreatingANewEJBControl.html?skipReload=true
has more info on using remote EJB's.
Hope this helps.

Hello everyone,
I developed a Web Service prototype accessing remote EJB using the EJB
control with special syntax in the jndi-name attribute: @jws:ejb
home-jndi-name="t3://10.10.245.70:7131/AccountDelegatorEJB"
Everything works fine, but I get an error when I restrict access to my
web
service with a declarative security model by implementing steps
provided
in
help doc:
- Define the web resource you wish to protect
- Define which security role is required to access the web resource
- Define which users are granted the required security role
- Configure WebLogic Server security for my web service(Compatibility

I launch the service by entering the address in a web browser. Whenprompted
to accept the digital certificate, click Yes, when prompted for
network
authentication information, enter username and password, navigate tothe
Test Form tab of Test View, invoke the method by clicking the buttonand
I
get the following exception:

I have a simple Hello method as well in my WebService (which is also
restricted) and it works fine, but remote EJB access doesn't. I testedmy
prototype on Weblogic 7.2 and 8.1 platforms - same result.
Is that a bug or I am missing some additional configuration in order
to
get
that working. Has anyone seen similar behavior? Is there a knownresolution?
Or a suggested way to work around the problem?
Thank you.

Issue with changing Access Service in ACS 5.2
Hi,
I am working on lab setup where I installed ACS 5.2 I created new access service and used it in existing service selection rule (Rule-2) earlier but it didn't work. Later I created new service selection rule and applied new service access rule. However even after this change it keeps applying predefined default access access service. Please refer attached picture for better understanding.
As shown, I want Aks-Rule to work and apply service 'Lab-Policy' however it keeps referring Rule-2 and applies 'Default Device Admin' access service even after I disable it.
I have to restart ACS service from CLI console to make it work. Is this a bug or am I missing anything. Please advise guys.
Regards,
AkshaySince the policy AKS is top in sequence under service selection rule so it should hit for sure. As you wrote that even after disabling the default device admin, then also request is hitting the same and restarting the ACS services resolved the issue. The symptoms of your issue are exactly same as stated in this defect.
CSCuo93378 Certain browsers cause ACS database corruption
Due to this issue we have seen cases where request hits the disable and default policies without any reason. Actually accessing ACS via chrome mess around with all the operators in conditions.
The only workaround is to access all the rules and conditions in supported browser. Ensure all the operators are correct, save the changes and restart the ACS services.
The issue seems to be fixed in ACS 5.5 patch 5

Accessing client using Windows 2008 Terminal Service - Web Access?
Dear experts,
We are developing a network infrastructure solution for our new customer's B1 8.8 implementation.
Our customer would like to utilize Windows Server 2008 Terminal Service to connect B1 client in remote branch with server in head office area. And they want to use Terminal Service - WEB ACCESS. Base on our experience, we successfully implement B1 using Remote Desktop Connection or Citrix to support B1 client in the remote area.
My question is, Has SAP already support to utilize windows "Terminal Service - Web Access" to access B1 client?
If Yes then what are possible issues and solutions?
Thanks,
IndraHi,
when we said to customer that it is better to use citrix, they will see some concerns as follows:
1. Investment to buy citrix server
2. License of citrix
3. installation time for ICA client
4. maintenance cost for citrix and its server
The benefits are as follows:
1. Reduce cost to purchase B1 license. Remote and LAN users can access B1 through citrix
2. The connection speed. Citrix is more faster than RDC or terminal services either web access or not
3. The security reason. Check this link:
http://www.virtualizationadmin.com/articles-tutorials/terminal-services/management-tools/terminal-services-internet-information-server.html
In the support platform, there is no windows terminal services web access info. You may check it here:
http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms
The supported hosted environments are using citrix or windows terminal service. For remote users, the citrix is used for web access and windows terminal services are using IP and the connection is using internet (do not use VPN).
The citrix is not very expensive. We must make them realize the benefit.
(in english : we must convince the customer about the citrixs benefit. it is not too expensive. The citrix could be buy from small reseller company so that its price is acceptable. SAP AG suggested to use citrix because it is very best web access).
I know bhs because I am from Indonesia hehehe....

Phillip6653 ,
According to your error message, it says you are running the Access Services service application in an application pool acting as user '0#.w|domain\administrator’. Is the user '0#.w|domain\administrator’
the farm account ?
The identity for the application pool that is running Access Services cannot be the farm account. If you attempt to run the application pool as the farm account, you will see an error like "04.06.201304:14:58.47
w3wp.exe (0x1080) 0x12FC Access Services Data Layer ahkty Exception System.InvalidOperationException:TheSystemAccount
cannot perform this action."
So if the user '0#.w|domain\administrator’ is the farm account, please run the application pool as a different domain account, and make sure to grant that identity the correct permissions.

Moving Access Services database
I'm sure this must be simple... but I'm having trouble finding any references to it.
Once I have synced an Access Web Database with SharePoint 2010 Access Services, how can I remove it from that SharePoint implementation and attach it to another SharePoint? I've tried making this happen from both SharePoint and Access, but there appears
to be no 'detach' option from either end.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
JimHello Jim Henderson NZ,
Thanks for your question. I think your question might get a better answered in the SharePoint 2010 - Setup, Upgrade, Administration and Operation forum. Let me make sure I understand your question correctly.
You're inquiring about moving your service application you created in central admin that ties all your Access content together? Based on this documentation it does not seem possible.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff621100.aspx
The listed service applications that can be published are:
Business Data Connectivity, Managed Metadata, User Profile, Search, Secure Store, Web Analytics.
If I'm understanding your question correctly I can move you to that forum. Otherwise, please give me a bit more information so I can further assist you.

Coldfusion 11 Web Services and SSL Issue
Our company has two web services that we host that a vendor uses to grab information from on a periodic basis. These services ran fine on a CF8 SSL site, but once we switched to 11, the services can no longer be created. However, I can create them on our unsecured test site (which also is running CF 11) and access them externally without issue. When I try to create the webservice in the url, I just get a blank page back instead of the XML I should be getting. Is there something special I am missing that has to be done to create web services in a secure environment? The raw error message I get when trying to invoke the secure web service is below:
coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl$BadWsdlXMLException: Unable to parse WSDL as an XML document. at coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl.retrieveWSDL(XmlRpcServiceImpl.java:976) at coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl.access$000(XmlRpcServiceImpl.java:96) at coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl$1.run(XmlRpcServiceImpl.java:309) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl.registerWebService(XmlRpcServiceImpl.java:302) at coldfusion.xml.rpc.XmlRpcServiceImpl.getWebServiceProxy(XmlRpcServiceImpl.java:692) at coldfusion.tagext.lang.InvokeTag.doEndTag(InvokeTag.java:469) at coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage._emptyTcfTag(CfJspPage.java:2987) at cfcallmattersearch2ecfm1244659485.runPage(D:\Web\sims\st\callmattersearch.cfm:9) at coldfusion.runtime.CfJspPage.invoke(CfJspPage.java:246) at coldfusion.tagext.lang.IncludeTag.handlePageInvoke(IncludeTag.java:734) at coldfusion.tagext.lang.IncludeTag.doStartTag(IncludeTag.java:570) at coldfusion.filter.CfincludeFilter.invoke(CfincludeFilter.java:65) at coldfusion.filter.IpFilter.invoke(IpFilter.java:45) at coldfusion.filter.ApplicationFilter.invoke(ApplicationFilter.java:487) at coldfusion.filter.RequestMonitorFilter.invoke(RequestMonitorFilter.java:42) at coldfusion.filter.MonitoringFilter.invoke(MonitoringFilter.java:40) at coldfusion.filter.PathFilter.invoke(PathFilter.java:141) at coldfusion.filter.ExceptionFilter.invoke(ExceptionFilter.java:94) at coldfusion.filter.BrowserDebugFilter.invoke(BrowserDebugFilter.java:78) at coldfusion.filter.ClientScopePersistenceFilter.invoke(ClientScopePersistenceFilter.java:2 8) at coldfusion.filter.BrowserFilter.invoke(BrowserFilter.java:38) at coldfusion.filter.NoCacheFilter.invoke(NoCacheFilter.java:58) at coldfusion.filter.GlobalsFilter.invoke(GlobalsFilter.java:38) at coldfusion.filter.DatasourceFilter.invoke(DatasourceFilter.java:22) at coldfusion.filter.CachingFilter.invoke(CachingFilter.java:62) at coldfusion.CfmServlet.service(CfmServlet.java:219) at coldfusion.bootstrap.BootstrapServlet.service(BootstrapServlet.java:89) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.j ava:303) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:208) at coldfusion.monitor.event.MonitoringServletFilter.doFilter(MonitoringServletFilter.java:42 ) at coldfusion.bootstrap.BootstrapFilter.doFilter(BootstrapFilter.java:46) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.j ava:241) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:208) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:220) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:122) at org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:501) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:170) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:98) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:116) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:422) at org.apache.coyote.ajp.AjpProcessor.process(AjpProcessor.java:198) at org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$AbstractConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.jav a:607) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(JIoEndpoint.java:313) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)I've got this working on our dev and test servers. Now I'm trying to deploy it to production. We have an external prod server in a DMZ that calls the web service on our internal prod server. We only have port 443 open in the firewall between these two servers (not port 80). I am able to do a <cfhttp> call to the WSDL over 443 and get back the xml. However, if I make the web service call using <cfinvoke> I get the following error:

I am able to successfully call the same web service (on the internal prod server) using the same code from my internal dev server. However, when I look at my httpd logs on the internal prod server, I don't see the request in the ssl logs. It shows up in the access_log file as:

Any thoughts why this appears to still be coming through port 80? -

I just encountered the same issue as above. Using SharePoint2013+SQL2012 though. It works before but all of a sudden, I start receiving this error :(
There is another site that I published as a test still works for me though.
Aside from the error message above, I also receive "The record source 'Projects' specified on this form or report does not exist.".
Any clue would be appreciated.
