Access to curently selected row in OnEvent method in JhsDataAction

Hi
How can i get selected row in OnEvent() method?
I override JhsDataAction (f.e. MyAction), implement method public void onControl(DataActionContext ctx) but ctx.getBindingContainer().findIteratorBinding("..Iterator").getNavigatableRowIterator().getCurrentRow();
always return me first row.
I have two solutions:
1.
in uix:
<event name="setCurrentRow" source="..View1">
<compound>
<set target="${bindings...Iterator}" property="currentRowIndexInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedIndex(uix, '..View1')}"/>
<method class="MyAction" method="onControl">
</compound>
</event>
and fire this event on button click, but onControl method must be
public static EventResult onControl(BajaContext bc, Page page, PageEvent event)
and its not suitable for me!!
2.
in uix:
<event name="setCurrentRow" source="..View1">
<set target="${bindings...Iterator}" property="currentRowIndexInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedIndex(uix, '..View1')}"/>
</event>
and fire this event on every row changing and then just set event "control" for the button
But its wrong!
So i need HELP!

Sorry for such simple question
I already found the solution:
<event name="setControl" source="PRDDMPaymentRequsetDdView1">
<set target="${bindings.PRDDMPaymentRequsetDdIterator}" property="currentRowIndexInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedIndex(uix, 'PRDDMPaymentRequsetDdView1')}"/>
</event>
this will set current row and then invoke "onSetControl()" method in JhsDataAction.

  • Need help on how to specify the current select row in a View Object

    Hi,
    I have a ADF table on my page, when I was selecting the rows in this table, I want the set and get methods in the ViewRowImpl class to do some customized actions. I found out that each time regardless the row I select in the table, the viewrowimpl class will always return the data in the first row, I tried to use getCurrentRow in VO row impl. but still, gets the first row.
    Does anyone know how to get the selected row value in the View Object, or View Row Impl rather???
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    you can call a method exposed by the AM and pass teh rowKey of the selected row as an argument. When you configure the exposed AM method in the pageDef (creating a method binding) the argument is shown in a dialog from where you can use EL like #{bindings.iteratorName.currentRow.rowKey} to access the current selected row.

  • Getting the selected row from a datatable -- URGENT

    Hi,
    I am facing the following problem with a datatable. The datatable does not have any Input components like CommandLink, Buttons, Radio Buttons and Checkbox. Even I cannot use the hidden Command Link.
    One solution is to use a input hidden variable which can hold the curent row Id. But in this case too, how to get the control in a backing bean method is not clear to me.
    Please guide me how to get the data of the selected row in the backing bean.
    Thanks in advance......
    VJain.

    I again explain my problem:
    I need to get the Current Selected Row onclick of any row in a Datatable. But the datatable is restricted not to have any CommandLink or Input component so that I can generate the action to go to any method on a backing bean as shown below.
    <h:dataTable id="dTable" value="#{Bean.myList}" var="currentRow" >
    <h:column id="row1">
    <h:outputText value="# currentRow.productNumber}"></h:outputText>
    </h:column>
    <h:column id="row2">
    <h:outputText value="# currentRow.productName}"></h:outputText>
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    As shown above I cannot use any commandButton or CommandLink to submit the page. All I can do is to generate any onclick function on Table and do something with it. But not sure how to do it.
    Now I want the productNumber of the selected row in any method say getCurrentRowId of the Bean.
    I hope the problem must be clear now....
    Thanks for your quick reply..

  • How to get selected row from a non-bind ADF table

    Hi,
    I have an ADF table that is based on a collectionModel built programmatically. The collectionModel is this:
    model = new SortableModel(new ArrayList<ArrayList>());
    Hence, it is not a binding table. My question is how to get the selectedRows from a non-bind table.
    I am used to building binding ADF table and I know we can get it from voiterator.getCurrentRow, since the selectionListener is set to the binding....collectionModel.makeCurrent
    <af:table value="#{bindings.ItasLookupTypesVO1.collectionModel}"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.ItasLookupTypesVO1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.ItasLookupTypesVO1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    </af:table>
    I am thinking maybe I need to write my own selectionListener, but need more advice/ideas of what's the codes in the customer selection Listener to get it from my SortableModel.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    -Mina

    I'm not sure if this works in your case, but check out the selection listener I write in this blog http://wp.me/pcBZk-eu
    You should use the selection event and check the added set. This should give you access to the selected row.

  • Wanted to catch more than one record in selected rows

    Hi all,
    I am using the following function to catch the selected rows.
    CALL METHOD w_grid->get_selected_rows
            IMPORTING
              et_index_rows = i_selected_rows.
    it is catching only one row.
    but i want to catch more than one record.
    for example i will select more than one record from the grid and press the approve button. so that the status will change in the database.
    but what is happening is if i select 2 or more records it is approving only first record. because in the i_selected_rows only first row is catching. what i have to do to catch other select rows also.
    thanking u.

  • How to directly access a SELECTED row in a table using MasterColumn

    I'm using a table with MasterColumn (TreeByNestingTableColumn) contains checkbox element.
    In order to get the selected row I have to navigate the whole tree which is a very expensive when the tree is big.
    I also tried without check box by just using MULTI ROW SELECTION property of the table but that didn't work.
    Is there a way to directly access selected row like we do in the standrard table control?

  • How do I get the values from a selected row.

    I am using JDeveloper 9.0.5. On my page, I have placed a button within a table. The button has been assigned an event. The event is within my Action class. This class implements DataAction and has overriden the
    processComponentEvents(DataActionContext actionContext);
    method.
    Question: While I am within the processComponentEvents method, is it possible to obtain the values of selected row?

    Good Morning Jeffery,
    First off thanks for your clear explanation. I have a few related questions as noted from your response:
    There are two ways to communicate the desired model row between the UIX view and the struts controller. One way is to use the singleSelection component in your table and put your buttons in the singleSelection's contents.
    When the user selects the radio button for a particular row and then clicks on one the buttons, a built in event handler in UIX will set the current row in the model to be the user selected row. Therefore, your Struts action can operate on the currently selected model row.
    When you drop a UIX table from the data control palette it is automatically set up in this way (with a single selection).
    Ok, Lets say that i've set everything up as you described. Not lets say that the button was pressed and I hit the overriddenprotected void processComponentEvents(DataActionContext actionContext) throws IOException, ServletException ;
    When I look at the request object, I do not see the values. How do I get access to the rowkey at this point?
    Some people, however, want to actually render buttons in their table rows, and have those buttons initiate an action on their row. If you are doing this, then you need to pass the row id to your struts action as a parameter, which means that you need to know the row id when you are rendering a button for a given row. There is an EL expression that will return the row-id for the current row, it is:
    ${uix.current.rowKeyStr}
    which is not so obvious or well documented in the preview release (sorry) but should be for the production release.
    A generic code snippet would go a long way to shedding some light on that. I guess I am use to using JDeveloper 9.0.3. It seems,"to me", that JDev 9.0.5 has put a completely new twist on things. I find myself wondering when I can use the 9.0.3 syntax and when
    should not. If your team has any short source toys around which demonstrated using rowkeys, or accessing the internal parts of the
    struts controller, I would find that invaluable. It dose not matter if this information is documented.
    Thank you

  • How to save the selected row number to NSUserDefaults

    I am trying to save the indexpath.row of the selected row to NSUserDefaults temporarily until my detail view controller can load its UITextFields based on which row is tapped. First of all is this good? I chose this design because the detail view controller cannot access the master view controller so I can't find out which row its tapped. To save to NSUSerDefaults, I did the following code, and the NSLog is always returning row 0 no matter what row I tap. Plus the title is not being set: its still blank.
    - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
        [patientList deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES];
        [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setInteger:indexPath.row forKey:@"rowSelected"];
        NSLog(@"The selected row saved is row %d"), [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] integerForKey:@"rowSelected"];
        if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPhone) {
            PatientDetailViewController *detailViewController = [[PatientDetailViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"PatientDetailViewController" bundle:nil];
            detailViewController.title = [patientDisplayName objectAtIndex:[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] integerForKey:@"rowSelected"]];
            // Pass the selected object to the new view controller.
            [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailViewController animated:YES];
            [detailViewController release];

    I have also tried setting the title differently (I also added comments to explain each line what it does, the rest is the same), but neither methods work
    - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
        // Deselect the row
        [patientList deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES];
        // Save to memory the row selected
        [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] setInteger:indexPath.row forKey:@"rowSelected"];
        // Show saved row to make sure it saved correctly
        NSLog(@"The selected row saved is row %d"), [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] integerForKey:@"rowSelected"];
        // Check if user is using iPhone
        if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPhone) {
            // Load the view
            PatientDetailViewController *detailViewController = [[PatientDetailViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"PatientDetailViewController" bundle:nil];
            // Set the title of the detail view controller based on row selected
            detailViewController.title = [patientDisplayName objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
            // Push the detail view controller
            [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailViewController animated:YES];
            // Release the detail view controller
            [detailViewController release];

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a quick question. I'm looking for an EL that returns the amount of selected rows on a table.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    you don't get this from a table direcly. You will need to expose a method on a managed bean that accesses the atbel to get the selectedRowKeys and return the size

  • Help with [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Error in row

    hi all,
    it seems i have the same problem updating a field in access database here is what my access table has:
    a field called userID of type String in Access 2000 on XP.
    i wrote the following code in java using Eclipse 3.1.1 ( latest) to update that field:
    String database= "jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver(*.mdb)};DBQ=";
    String url= database + filename.trim() + ";DriverID=22;READONLY=true}";
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection con= DriverManager.getConnection( url,"","");
    con.setAutoCommit(false);
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
    stmt.executeQuery("SELECT Users.* FROM Users");
    ResultSet rs = stmt.getResultSet();
    rs.moveToInsertRow();
    rs.updateInt(1,"test");
    rs.updateRow();
    con.commit();
    rs.close();
    stmt.close()
    con.close();
    i get this error :[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid cursor state
    if i use the same code with using re.next(); before rs.moveToInsertRow(); i get [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Error in row
    i get the errors right at : rs.updateRow();
    i dont know what exactly the problem is. why doesnt it get updated and complain about it.
    plz help

    I'm not sure which JDBC driver you are using.
    An access database, by default, has a username and
    password as "admin" and "" (ie, empty password).
    Actually MS Access has two methods for security. You
    are referring to one of them.
    If the password of admin is changed, you have to
    provide the name of the workgroup information file
    also( where it is stored) for making a connection.
    I am not sure about the ODBC bridge driver. What iam
    using is Atinav's aveConnet JDBC driver. It has
    provision for giving username and passwords through
    Workgroup information file. In addition to it youcan
    give the database password also.
    Interesting to note. The bridge for MS Access does
    not use that security method. And it will fail if you
    set up security using the groups/users adminstration.
    The only method it allows is via the "database
    password" method.Thank you for your response, but what User ID should I use when I use database password?
    openConnection(URL,"xxxx","database password")
    thanks again

  • How to getValue of CoreOutputText of a selected row ?

    Hello Jdev 10.1.3 Experts,
    Currently I am using JUCtrlValueBindingRef getSelectedRowData to access selected row data bound to ADF CoreTable. I have no problem with it.
    Now I have a case to access selected row data from a column (CoreOutputText)that does not have ADF binding. I have read Frank Nimphius's Blogbuster, but I am not clear about his approach.
    CAN YOU HELP ME TO FILL INCOMPLETE CODES (??????) OF MY BACKING VIEW METHODD:
    public String openMissionTax() {
    // Get CoreTable (8 columns)
    CoreTable ct = this.getMissionResults();
    // Get Selected row
    currentRow = ct. ???????????
    // Get CoreOutputText value (1st column)
    ?????????.getValue();
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Robert.

    Hi,
    the JUCtrlValueBindingRef has a getRow() method that you cast to oracle.jbo.Row. The first attribute is row.getAttribute(0), no matter of there is an ADF binding involved or not. As long as the column is populated through the "row" variable. So the question basically is, where does the value of the column come from?

  • Af:table: copy values of currently selected row to other attribute bindings

    Hello,
    I'm using JDev 11g.
    Copying a value from one attribute value binding to another one is easy when you are clicking a button, with a setActionListener:
    <af:setActionListener from="#{bindings.SourceField.inputValue}" to="#{bindings.DestinationField.inputValue}"/>What I want to do is the same behaviour, but instead of clicking a button, the triggering event should be the selection of a row on an af:table. The source field is a column of the currently selected row. The destination is another attribute value binding outside of the table.
    Jspx:
    <af:table value="#{bindings.EmployeesView1.collectionModel}" var="row">
      <af:column ... >
        <af:inputText value="#{row.bindings.SourceField.inputValue}" ... />
      </af:column>
    </af:table>
    <af:inputText ... value="#{bindings.DestinationField.inputValue}" />
    ...Page Def:
    <bindings>
      <tree IterBinding="EmployeesView1Iterator" id="EmployeesView1">
        <nodeDefinition ... >
          <AttrNames>
            <Item Value="SourceField"/>
          </AttrNames>
        </nodeDefinition>
      </tree>
      <attributeValues IterBinding="EmployeesView1Iterator" id="SourceField">
        <AttrNames>
          <Item Value="SourceField"/>
        </AttrNames>
      </attributeValues>
      <attributeValues IterBinding="SomeOtherIterator" id="DestinationField">
        <AttrNames>
          <Item Value="DestinationField"/>
        </AttrNames>
      </attributeValues>
    </bindings>What needs to happen in this simplified case is everytime a row is selected in the table, the value of the SourceField column (that also has an attribute value binding) should be copied to the DestinationField of some other iterator. Analogous to the setActionListener, but without a button. And in the real case, there are more columns of the selected row that need to be copied to more fields.
    How can this be done? I already created a custom selectionListener for the table in a backing bean. In this selectionListener, the first thing I do is call the default "#{bindings.EmployeesView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}". Then I fetch the current row, which is also no problem. So I now have access to the value of SourceField in my selectionListener in the backing bean. The only thing that is left now is copying this value to the "#{bindings.DestinationField.inputValue}" in Java, and that's where I'm stuck. :-)
    Or even better ofcourse, is there a declarative way to do this without Java code?
    Help would be greatly appreciated!
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    You should be able to use this utility method from JSFUtils class (part of FOD)
        public static void setExpressionValue(String expression, Object newValue) {
            FacesContext facesContext = getFacesContext();
            Application app = facesContext.getApplication();
            ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
            ELContext elContext = facesContext.getELContext();
            ValueExpression valueExp =
                elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, expression,
                                                Object.class);
            //Check that the input newValue can be cast to the property type
            //expected by the managed bean.
            //If the managed Bean expects a primitive we rely on Auto-Unboxing
            Class bindClass = valueExp.getType(elContext);
            if (bindClass.isPrimitive() || bindClass.isInstance(newValue)) {
                valueExp.setValue(elContext, newValue);
        }edit... just realized you need this too
        public static FacesContext getFacesContext() {
            return FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
        }John

  • Select row button not getting displayed in alv grid.

    Hi ,
    As per my requirement I am using tab strip in module pool.
    Each tab strip is containing one ALV.
    And user can change delete or create one record when the alv is displayed.
    The same should be saved in the database and ALV should be refreshed.
    When I am displaying the ALV the left most option of the ALV with which I can select the whole row is not coming.
    Because of which I am unable to call the method to get the selected row and delete or change accordingly.
    Why this button is not coming?
    I am using set_table_for_first_display in my program.
    Please help.

    Hi,
    In the method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY, you will have to change the Selection Mode to 'A'. I guess you are not passing any values to the Layout parameters.
    Once you do that, you will find what your are looking for.
    Data : LA_LAYO type LVC_S_LAYO.
