Accessible XML

Hi everyone
The following is a section of code from my site. It works in IE but not in Firefox. I suspected that was because I was using an Active X object so I modified the code to offer an alternative for other browsers.
The first section (in the for loop) simply checks the result of a radio button before making its decision. (If the radio button is set to something else, the code does nothing in this case.)
function uponSubmit() {
  for (var i=0; i<document.getElementsByName("whichservice").length; i++)
    if (document.getElementsByName("whichservice").checked)
var whichservice = document.getElementsByName("whichservice")[i].value;
if (whichservice=="combinedresults")
if(document.implementation && document.implementation.createDocument)
// Mozilla
// Load XML
xml = document.implementation.createDocument("", "", null);
xml.load("page.xml");
xml.onload = function()
// Load XSL
var xsl = document.implementation.createDocument("", "", null);
xsl.load("stylesheet.xsl");
xsl.onload = function()
xsltProcessor = new XSLTProcessor();
xsltProcessor.importStylesheet(xsl);
//Change parameter
xsltProcessor.setParameter(null, "url", document.getElementsByName("url")[0].value);
// Transform
result = xsltProcessor.transformToDocument(xml);
document.removeChild(document.firstChild);
document.appendChild(result.firstChild);
else if(window.ActiveXObject)
// IE
// Load XML
xml = new ActiveXObject("MSXML2.DOMDocument");
xml.async = false
xml.load("page.xml")
// Load XSL
xsl = new ActiveXObject("MSXML2.DOMDocument");
xsl.async = false
xsl.load("stylesheet.xsl")
//Change parameter
xsl.selectSingleNode("//xsl:param[@name='url']").setAttribute("select",
"'"+document.forms[0].url.value+"'");
// Transform
document.write(xml.transformNode(xsl))
else
// Browser unknown
alert("Browser unknown");
This still works fine in Internet Explorer, but simply quits in Firefox. I've looked and looked yet still can see nothing wrong. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

The second version has no attributes to get, only elements and text.
In your SAX handler, the attributes are passed into the startElement(String namespaceURI, String localName, String qName, Attributes atts) method. Does the atts argument have no values in it?

  • Change position Contact or Home text in Flash Gallery

    Perhaps I overlooked a possibillity, but I want to change the position of the Contact (or Home) text (in de upper right corner of a Lightroom Flash Gallery) to the left upper corner. Or to the center. Anyone any idea how to realise this? Thanks in advance.

    Looking at the accessible XML files, I can't see that this is possible even through minor hacking. For more information about what you can do with the Flash gallery, have a look at http://blog.bluefire.tv/?cat=13

  • Flex code management

    Well I have a generic question with the following scenario:
    I have build a custom component (as based) and placed all the
    related files under components directory under root directory of my
    project.
    There is another directory called includes (again under root
    ) which is having the main project code. I have decalred a globally
    accessible xml type variable in the main.mxml file (my main file of
    the app). I can very well access this xml variable with in the
    includes folder.
    I want to access this xml variable in the components folder's
    files too.
    What should be the way? I have embedded the custom component
    in the main.mxml so i was assuming that this xml variable will be
    accessible in the custom component code.. but it is not..

  • Create prov.xml file error 14 or 28

    When I wan’t to create a prov.xml file for Muse to activate computers in the Enterprise I get the 14 error, the comandline I use is:
    adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx --leid=Muse-1.0-Win-GM

    Return Code Code = 14
    When I use the comandline  with provfilepath I get the error 28;
    adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate -- serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx --leid=Muse-1.0-Win-GM --provfilepath=C:\temp\prov.xml

    Return Code Code = 28
    What goes wrong, any help would be appreciated
    TIA.
    Harmen

    Hello Harmen, please check the %temp%\oobelib.log after completing your first command. This will reveil more details.
    @Adobe:
    I do get the same error code 14 (and then 19) when running the above command for leid=DesignSuiteStandard-CS6-Win-GM
    del "%temp%\oobelib?.log" /q /s
    %~dp0adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx --leid=DesignSuiteStandard-CS6-Win-GM --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress --locales=de_DE --provfilepath=%temp%
    ren "%temp%\oobelib.log" oobelib1.log
    %~dp0adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --stream --provfile=%temp%\prov.xml
    ren "%temp%\oobelib.log" oobelib2.log
    Permissions are correctly set for \SLStore and \SLCaches. Prov-File-Path was set to %temp% and is accessible/writable. Scripts were run with elevated privileges.
    In Adobe's damn bad documentation I found a hint that Adobe Application Manager (now Adobe Creative Cloud Client) is required for the VolumeSerialize commands to work* but in my case this didnt change a thing...

    Adobe advises to catch the %temp%\oobelib.log which includes more information. However make sure to backup this file after each run of adobe_prtk because it gets overwritten :/
    My results:
    - step 1 "generation of prov.xml" ends with OOBELIB: SN validated for AAMEE Mode; stat = 27; Adobe PRTK: Failed to validate the serial number  => Code 14
    - step 2 "activation" ends with "invalid prov.xml" because of step 1 => Code 19
    Once I set provfilepath to c: or c:\ step one quits with return code 28 (sufficient rights are set though). Whenever I omit the provfile-Parameters in step 1 and 2 I still receive return code 14 and 19.
    Btw. another hint: check logs when doing a single command line serialization... For me I get loads of errors and end up with a trial mode and register popup
    adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=DesignSuiteStandard-CS6-Win-GM --serial=xxxxxxxx [email protected]

    I have an answer for my problem:  for solving a problem I've made several steps:
    1. Run farm installation under AD admin credentials - runas /user:Domain1\DomainAdmin1 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\psconfigui.exe".
    This user has been added as farm administrator in the wizard.
    This user has been added as DBO in the SQL Server. (This is the main difference with my previous attempts)
    2. Execute a command Add-SPShellAdmin Domain1\UserAccount1 in
    the Management Shell of Sharepoint.
    3. Run SQL server and add Sharepoint_Shell_Access to the Domain1\UserAccount1
    (my main account) in the Config database
    4. Run CMD file only from Start->Run menu.
    runas /user:Domain1\UserAccount1 "C:\1.cmd".
    Do not use Total Commander command prompt or file list for executing *.cmd of *.bat files without root administrator account.
    Thanks all for help.

  • Applet JNLP not accessible in browser ?

    Hello,
    I am new to java and to programiing in general. Thanks in advance for your help. I can't get an Applet to work in any browser (Google, Mozilla, IE) while it works fine in appletviewer. Why?
    The Source:
    import java.awt.*;
    public class Hwa extends java.applet.Applet {
    public void init (){
         add(new Label("Hello World"));
    compiled in Hwa.class, then in a Hwa.jar file,
    The JNLP file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="" href="">
    <information>
    <title>Hw Applet</title>
    <vendor>CCN</vendor>
    </information>
    <resources>
    <j2se version="1.4+" href="http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se" />
    <jar href="http://www.ccca.eu/Hwa.jar" />
    </resources>
    </jnlp>
    The HwaAPJNLP.html file:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html dir="ltr" lang="fr"><head>
    <meta content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="content-type">
    <title>CCCAEU</title>
    <meta content="" name="author">
    <style type="text/css"></style>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="CCCAEU.css" type="text/css">
    </head><body>
    <applet code="Hwa.class" ref_jnlp="Hwa.jnlp" height="50" width="150"></applet>
    </body></html>
    All files are copied on the http://ccca.eu/. of the server
    Executing appletviewer HwaAPJNLP.html (local copy of the html file) works just fine BUT launching http://www.ccca.eu/HwaAPJNLP.html returns a blank rectangle with the JAVA console message "Detected from bootclasspath: C:\\PROGRA~1\\Java\\jre7\\lib\\deploy.jar" and "Incompatible magic value 1008812135 in class file Hwa". WHY ?
    FYI, the ".htaccess" file on my WebServer is
    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
    AddType application/x-java-jnlp-file JNLP
    Thanks in advance for your support.

    Thank you Baftos. It works but I still do not understand the logic. Before, my Hwa.class was only accessible through my Hwa.jar file on http://www.ccca.eu/Hwa.jar, itself defined as the reference if the jnlp file, see above. My understanding of the jnlp logic is that the html page will load the Hwa.class from the Hwa.jar file. Is that correct ? Thanks to your post, I copied the Hwa.class directly under http://www.ccca.eu/Hwa.class and yes, when accessed through the browser, I can download it. Even better, my previous html page above - unchanged - now WORKS. Thanks for letting me know where I think wrong.

  • XML Problem - Markup not well-formed? (kinda long)

    Hello, I'm working on my first AIR app and I've run into a bit of a snag.  The app is intended to allow users of our system to create a Word document, save it as XML, and then load it into the AIR app and have some manipulation performed to extract data, and finally store the data in a database.  The reasons for this app to exist are pretty irrelevant for the particular problem that I'm having, but a little background on my development efforts might help shed light on my situation, and with luck one of you might be able to help me figure this out.
    I started on this app using the URLLoader and URLRequest objects to load a Word document saved as XML from a server.  This worked fine, I created logic to distinguish between Word 2007 and Word 2003 XML formats and using the E4X XML and XMLList objects I was able to load that XML into an XML object, change it to a string, grab the document body, strip out namespaces and such (formatting is mostly irrelevant here too, only the actual data is of importance) amd eventually get a much simpler XML object or list that contained just the data relevant to the purpose at hand.  This was all working fine, I managed to get both Word XML formats to process as I wished and spit out new XML that will serve as the basis for another application that we run.  Great!
    The problem was that in order to use this method in a distributed way I needed to have the original Word documents accessible to the code, which meant having the user upload their Word file (saved as XML) and then retrieving it with the URLLoader and URLRequest.  I actually implemented this method using the FileReference object in AS3 and using some simple PHP code to store the file in a server directory that was accessible to the client.  Unfortunately, this lead me to thinking about the security issues involved and how allowing PHP to write to a directory would open it to potential malicious attacks, yada yada yada, you all know the issues.  So I thought that I might be able to read the file before uploading it in the kind of circular logic that sometimes happens.  When I started into the AS3 docs to check on classes to help, I realized that my initial suspicions were correct and that in order to load and read the file locally, I could use AIR, have the user load up their XML file, process it and then send the resulting XML and info to the database directly (eliminating the need to send files to the server AND preventing the need to allow PHP to write to the server in this instance).
    So after a bit of reading and testing, I managed to modify my FLA to publish an AIR file, and started debugging.  My Word 2007 document worked fine - I create a File object and a FileStream object and they are easily able to access the file the user selects via the File.browseForOpen method.  I then run the processing code, which begins by creating an XML object from the data read from the file.  What's happening now is that while the Word 2007 document loads and processes without an issue, the Word 2003 document is causing a 1088 error: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.
    I don't understand why this is happening since the same document in the same format was able to be loaded into an XML object when I used the URLLoader to grab the file.  The only thing I can conclude is that somehow the FileStream.readUTFBytes() method is somehow causing an issue.  I am able to trace out what is being read, but the file is lengthy and I haven't completed my analysis to see if and where the changes are occuring.
    If anyone has any experience with this type of situation, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    OK, it turns out that for some reason the Word 2003 XML document was being read with an extra character preceding the actual markup.  By dumping the stream into a string and then clipping the first character I was able to get the app running again.  Thanks for taking the time to read this thread!

  • Pulling Signature into an XML Publisher report for Recruitment letters

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to create signed recruitment letters for the Talent Acquisition module and am not quite sure how to handle this technically.. I assume some customizations are in order...
    I guess some of the questions I have are:
    1) Is there OOTB functionality to handle Signatures in PS?
    2) Do i store the image in the database or on an accessible network/local drive location?
    3) Can XML Publisher handle this type of request?
    4) Is there any documentation out there to explain this in more detail?
    5) Any advice on how to proceed?
    I also have a company logo they want pulled into the XML Publisher Report.. i assume it would be a simliar effect.
    Anyway, I was hoping someone out there may have some advice on how to proceed.
    Regards,
    Greg

    Below excerpt from Oracle XML Publisher Core Components Guide
    Images
    XML Publisher supports several methods for including images in your published document:
    Direct Insertion*
    Insert the jpg, gif, bmp, or png image directly in your template.
    URL Reference*
    1. Insert a dummy image in your template.
    2. In Microsoft Word's Format Picture dialog box select the Web tab. Enter the
    following syntax in the Alternative text region to reference the image URL:
    url:{'http://image location'}
    For example, enter:
    url:{'http://www.oracle.com/images/ora_log.gif'}
    You can also build a URL based on multiple elements at runtime. Just use the
    concat function to build the URL string. For example:
    url:{concat(SERVER,'/',IMAGE_DIR,'/',IMAGE_FILE)}

  • How do I create an accessible PDF for Thesaurus with many chapters, from InDesign CS 5.5 and Acrobat

    Hi folks,
    I have redesigned a Thesaurus (controlled vocabulary for an Agency's archives) in InDesign CS 5.5. I am now preparing an accessible PDF from the many files (using a Book created in InDesign). The front cover, front matter and back cover are not part of the Book, to keep the page numbering simple.
    The Book includes two main sections, an Alphabetical display and a Hierarchical display of terms and their relations. I created chapters per alphabet listings, i.e. Alphabetical Display A, B, C, etc. So there are over 50 chapters, including cover, front matter, etc.
    I've successfully made the front cover and front matter PDFs after viewing videos here: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/accessibility-adobe/preparing-indesign-files-for-accessibility/ and downloading and using this recommended Action for Acrobat: InDesign CS5_5 Accessibility Touchup.sequ
    Several questions specific to this project don't seem to be addressed in the videos, however.
    First, I'd like to know if I can create an accessible PDF using the Book function > Export Book to PDF. Or do I need to make a PDF per chapter? The book has over 50 chapters (by alphabet, twice), so creating them one by one will take a lot more time, but I'll do it if that's the best practice.
    After creating the PDFs, if I use (in Acrobat): Create > Combine Files into PDF to make one full PDF (over 600 pages BTW), will the final PDF retain accessibility settings? Do I need to run the Accessibility Report again for the combined PDF?
    I used InTools.com Power Headers plugin to add a page header that automatically shows the new first term used per page. So, one chapter (with Chapter Title as H1) will have a different page header (which will be H2) per page, however the text flows through the whole chapter. I don't see where to add the page headers to the Article Window in InDesign. Do I add in this order: H1, H2, text (for whole chapter), H2, H2, H2, etc. Will I need to work on the PDF in Acrobat, where pages will be shown, in order to get the correct H2 with the correct text on the page? Am I missing something?
    Will I have any issues with Bookmarks that requires a specific workflow?
    I think that's about it, though I might run into more questions as I progress through the project.
    Thanks, Marilyn

    I understand why you need updated running headers in your book. To a sighted reader these serve as a guide to where you are and help you find things quickly.  In addition, if you are exporting your data to XML or HTML from the tagged PDF it would also be important to have these in the proper location.
    But for accessibility purposes, it doesn't have to be there because the screen reader reads everything in linear order, line by line.  No one is looking at the page.  A user listening to the screen reader read the page is going to hear this heading, just before the actual word itself. So they will hear the first word on the page twice.  It's not the end of the world if it's there, but such headings are not necessary for accessibility unless they are not repetitive and contain information that is not otherwise available.
    So I would say, fine if you need them or want them there, it's just one word.
    I think you should try exporting your book to PDF (or even just a chapter of the book) and look at the tags panel in Acrobat to see if you are getting the result you want.  I can't tell you exactly what you should do to get those results, you are using a plug-in I don't have.
    I can tell you I didn't have to add the headers to any article at all, they just automatically export if the other articles in the file are added and you don't select the header style option "not for export as XML."
    You may not experience the same results with your plug-in, but I think it will probably work the same way.
    Give it a try and best of luck.

  • Reading a XML File from server in BI Publisher

    Hi All,
    Can any one help me how i can get the XML file from server to BI Publisher using data source.
    The file should transfer directly to BI Publisher with out storing it in any local directory in local system.
    Thank you
    Shalini.

    Shalini
    Do you mean that you have another system that is going to serve up the XML data and you want BIP to be able to pick it up as a data source ?
    Couple of options:
    1, If the XML filename can remain static you can use the 'XML File' datasource. You need to set up a directory on the server and then maybe create a dummy XML file to start with upon which you can build a report. Then have your external data generator put the file into that directory and then schedule the report so that BIP will pick and report.
    2. IS the data generator accessible via HTTP or web service - BIP supports those too.
    3. More complex but with a little effort you can create a servlet that will pick up the file from a directory and serve it up to BIP on demand - Im going to write about this on the blog this week

  • Using a Variable from web-inf/web.xml in java code?

    I would like to create a read-only variable with a value in the /web-inf/web.xml file and then access that value within a java service method within the Application Module.
    Where / how do I read the value from the web.xml file and make it accessible within my java code?
    thanks

    Hi,
    you can define context parameters in web.xml that you can access from Java in the web application
    The following is a JSF examle that checks a context parameter in a PhaseListener, where the string is stored ina Java constant (could be "myParam")
    ExternalContext exctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
    useSessionPageCache = exctx.getInitParameter(Constants.USE_PAGE_CACHE) == null ? false :
    (exctx.getInitParameter(Constants.USE_PAGE_CACHE)).equalsIgnoreCase("TRUE") ? true : false;
    From here you can call a method on the AM to set the value or look for another option.

  • "Error while parsing SOAP XML payload: no element found" received when invoking Web Service

    Running PB 12.1 Build 7000.  Using Easysoap.  Error ""Error while parsing SOAP XML payload: no element found" received when invoking Web Service".  This error does not appear to be coming from the application code.  Noticed that there were some erroneous characters showing up within the header portion of the XML ("&Quot;").  Not sure where these are coming from.  When I do a find within the PB code for ""&quot;" it gets located within two objects, whereas they both reference a "temp_xml_letter".  Not sure where or what temp_xml_letter resides???   The developer of this is no longer with us and my exposure to WSDL and Web Services is rather limited.  Need to get this resolved...please.
    This is the result of the search.  Notice the extraneous characters ("&quot;"):

    Maybe "extraneous" is an incorrect term.  Apparantly, based upon the writeup within Wiki, the parser I am using does not interpret the "&quot;"?  How do I find which parser is being utilized and how to control it?
    <<<
    If the document is read by an XML parser that does not or cannot read external entities, then only the five built-in XML character entities (see above) can safely be used, although other entities may be used if they are declared in the internal DTD subset.
    If the document is read by an XML parser that does read external entities, then the five built-in XML character entities can safely be used. The other 248 HTML character entities can be used as long as the XHTML DTD is accessible to the parser at the time the document is read. Other entities may also be used if they are declared in the internal DTD subset.

  • Oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser error

    I'm reposting this error that I recently received one more time before removing the XML transforms from my Java projects and doing them in .NET.
    Code that was working fine suddenly getting a transform error using JDeveloper.
    Get the following:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException: XML-22000: (Fatal Error) Error while parsing XSL file (weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryXMLReader cannot be cast to oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser).
         at weblogic.servlet.jsp.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:417)
    Seems that
    <!--
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/xml" prefix="x" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>

    <table>
    <c:import url="HoursWorked.xml" var="xmlHoursWorked" charEncoding="windows-1252"/>
    <c:import url="./HoursWorked3.xsl" var="xslt" charEncoding="windows-1252"/>
    <x:transform xml="${xmlHoursWorked}" xslt="${xslt}" />
    </table>
    -->
    will not transform XML to HTML via XSL in JSP anymore.
    If I run the XSL i get the HTML results I expected in an HTML test page.
    So I know the XML and XSL is sound.
    XSL and DOM parsing in Java/Oracle was a major pain in the ass in the first place and now this.
    Well I've spent hours going through Oralce/Java documentation on XML, DOM and XSL transforms.
    All that time spent and still so unstable. I don't think I was ever able to really get what I wanted
    which was to transform my XML document to HTML, update via JSP and have the XML document
    be updated and ready to view in a summary page. The XML document changes were never really
    available unless I closed the app and restarted. So all in all a failure of capabilities compared to my
    use of XML in .NET.
    So........
    Me thinks it will be a good idea to take out the transforms and have my JSP use a script to invoke a
    method in a class that extracts it from a message. Just have PL/SQL interface with XML and do the
    transform or serialize thing there.
    I don't want to give up on XML but I'm tired of trying to jam a square peg into a round hole
    with Java and JDeveloper.

    We don't support file references ("cv1_0.dtd"). Only url type references
    are supported, of the form:
    @ <!DOCTYPE cv1 SYSTEM "http://www.oracle.com/public/cv1_0.dtd>
    Note that the url should be accessible to the world without the need to authenticate.
    you could put your dtd in the "public" area in your iFS system.

  • Error when opening BPEL Console:No domains accessible to the user logged in

    Hi,
    I have upgraded the SOA SUITE from 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.4 by applying the patch. Before applying the patch, I run the scripts to upgrade the database for both ESB and BPEL. After applying the patch I made the change in <ORACLE_HOME>\j2ee\oc4j_soa\configdata-sources.xml file for the BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL parameter. But when I am opening BPEL Console it is showing the error like “No domains accessible to the user logged in". And in the log file I am getting the error like
    ORABPEL-03003
    Incorrect db schema version.
    The database schema version "2.0.4" from the database does not match the version "10.1.3.4.0" expected by the server.
    The database schema currently in place has probably been configured for a previous release; please re-install the database schema and try to start the server again.
    Does anybody knows how to fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    Anju

    Hello,
    I had the same problem and reconfiguring the datasources.xml was the solution. Because the installer replace its values with all wrong values. For example: using polite driver instead OracleDriver, 1522 instead 1521, user and password.
    That solved my problem, maybe you must check all parameters of the datasources.xml and restart the server.
