Accessing a OLAP variable in procedure

Hi,
I have a olap variable which stores date datatype in my AW. I wanted to fetch teh value of this variable inside an pl sql procedure to do some date coparison. I know I can write a dml program which can intrun write the variable value to a table and then I can use it in procedure but I am looking for a way directly access this without writing to a table.?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,

You can expose your OLAP variable as a SQL view, that you can then query as you would any other table/view.
Is your OLAP variable multidimensional? I could not get an OLAP_TABLE view to work on a non-dimensioned variable, but works just fine with a 1-dimensional variable.
As a simple example:
OLAP worksheet
DEFINE DATE_DIM DIMENSION TEXT
DEFINE DATE_VAR VARIABLE DATE <DATE_DIM>
MNT DATE_DIM MERGE '1'
DATE_VAR = TODAY
RPR DATE_VAR
DATE_DIM       DATE_VAR
1                    24MAR10SQL Developer/ SQLPLus
CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW "DATE_VAR" AS
SELECT * FROM table(OLAP_TABLE ('<YOUR_AW_NAME> duration query',
'DIMENSION ID FROM DATE_DIM
MEASURE DATE_COLUMN FROM DATE_VAR'))
MODEL
DIMENSION BY (ID)
MEASURES (DATE_COLUMN) RULES UPDATE SEQUENTIAL ORDER();Then you can query this view directly:
SELECT DATE_COLUMN FROM DATE_VAR
DATE_COLUMN
24/MAR/10

    Hi,
    There are function modules for SAP variables.
    -     RSVAREXIT_variablename
    -     RREX_VARIABLE_EXIT (for variables to be processed see include LRREXTOP).
    Customized variables with exit can be accessed by FM EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001.
    If you are able to transfer mandatory parameters, just implement call of required FM
    Into report. If not, you have to copy and adopt coding desired from the FMs.

  • Accessing database package variables from Forms

    I have a database package that populates a table of values, i.e.
    type t_route_list is table of rt_route.RTR_ID%type;
    route_list t_route_list
    route_list gets populated by a package function and I want to access route_list in the Form.
    While I can access other package variables by writing a function that returns the variable, Forms doesnt seem to like functions that return a user defined datatype as above. I have also tried using a procedure with an OUT param instead of a function but it also fails with same error.
    i.e.
    declare
    v_route_list pkg_bulk_route_replace.t_route_list;
    begin
    pkg_bulk_route_replace.init;
    pkg_bulk_route_replace.get_route_list(v_route_list);
    message(v_route_list(1));
    end;
    This will not compile, but removing the index (1) from the last line makes it compile but crash with ORA-0600.
    The code above with message replaced with dbms_out.put_line works fine on TOAD.
    So my question is......
    Can my database package return a plsql table to a form and if so, how?!

    Actually I've got this to work now!
    Thde main culprit appears to be a difference in the version of sql or pl/sql used on forms (version 5) and the database (8.1.7).
    I had defined my table as a nested table. By redefining this as a indexed table, simply by adding on 'index by binary_integer' on my server package, I am suddenly able to access the elements of the table on my form. Fortunately this did not break the server code either - the table was populated using bulk collect and that still works.
    Still got a bit of coding to do, but things are looking up now.

  • How do I access the DCJMS* variables in my response SOAP:Header ?

    Hi all,
    I have set up a sync / async Integration Process in XI
    This is initiated by a SAP R/3 transaction that calls a synchronous function to enter XI
    Once in the Bridge, a JMS receiver adapter sends out an asynchronous request message from XI to MQ
    A correlation allows the JMS sender adapter to return an asynchronous response message from MQ to XI back into my the Integration Process
    I have set up the JMS sender adapter configuration to return the DC (dynamic configuration) variables in the <SOAP:Header> of the XI response message along with the payload
    You can see that the DCJMS* variables are returned below

    <b>Question</b>
    I want to access the DCJMS* variables but am not sure how to go about it as the
    variables exist in the <SOAP:Header>?
    I followed the SAP documentation to access adapter-specific attributes (refer to link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm )
    I have used the following code to create a user-defined function for the accessing adapter specific attributes (similar to the link)
    public String Get_Msgid(Container container){
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get
    (StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create
    ("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS","DCJMSMessageID");
    String jmsMsgID = conf.get(key);
    return jmsMsgID;
    <b>Question</b>
    Do I use message mapping to extract the DCJMS* variables?
    <b>Question</b>
    If so then which message is used for the source message so that I can access the <SOAP:Header>?  Eg do I use the response message type or is there a trick to accessing the SOAP:Header?
    <b>Question</b>
    Do I use the user-defined function (like above)?
    I performed the following steps
    •     Opened the message mapping in edit mode
    •     Created the user-defined function using the graphical editor
    •     Saved the message mapping
    •     I have not connected the user-defined function to any of the xml tags in either the source or target messages
    When I go to test the message mapping I am getting the following error

  • Use of OLAP variable 0FYTCFP in extracting GL transaction figures

    Hi
    We load data to cube 0FIGL_C01.
    We use the OLAP variable to ensure that we are extracting for the current fiscal year to date, as a full load, with a deletion of overlapping requests in the process chain.
    Our fiscal year ends 30 June. My question is around  special periods and opening of the new fiscal year while posting is still allowed into the old year e.g. on 15 July both the old year and the new year are open as the year end processing is still underway, and special periods 13-16 might also be in use.
    Do I have to wait until the user close the year (a manual step) to then do a "final" run for the year, with the periods specified manually, or is there a way to automate this?
    thanks and regards, Lara

    Hi Sander
    Thanks for the response.
    That;s what I have been doing (run manually after the period is closed). It is not ideal, in my mind, because it (1) relies on someone remembering to do it and (2) has to be done repetitively i.e.at least daily until the "old" period is closed, otherwise reports based on the provider will not be accurate. Again, not hard to do, just a pain when everything else is automated.
    This particular DataSource is not delta enabled, otherwise I would have used the delta loads.
    regards, Lara

  • SAP BI - OLAP variable in DTP unable to read from input ready variable in query

    Hello,
    Here's the problem:
    We have a process chain which is launched in a WAD.
    We would like to filter the DTPs in the PC with the values entered in the variable screen of the WAD
    I created a variable of type customer exit X which reads the input ready variable Y in CMOD.
    Customer exit variable X was placed in the filter of the DTP.
    The input ready variable Y in the query contained in the WAD.
    I am getting an error that customer exit variable X is getting not value.
    Is it possible to read an input ready variable in a customer exit variable placed in a DTP?
    Or am I missing a step here?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Anjalee,
    Maybe it would be good to share a bit more information on your scenario and the chosen solution design. I am currently missing the point of triggering a Process Chain using Web Application Designer.
    Anyway, I recommend to be careful with using OLAP variables in DTP filters. For sure not all functionality is present, e.g. because the variable pop-up is absent. Your constellation of an input ready variable and a customer-exit variable will only work in the context of a BEx Query and probably not if used in a DTP filter.
    Best regards,
    Sander

  • Accessing a private variable from a public method of the same class

    can anyone please tell me how to access a private variable, declared in a private method from a public method of the same class?
    here is the code, i'm trying to get the variable int[][][] grids.
    public static int[][] generateS(boolean[][] constraints)
      private static int[][][] sudokuGrids()
        int[][][] grids; // array of arrays!
        grids = new int[][][]
        {

    Are you sure that you want to have everything static here? You're possibly throwing away all the object-oriented goodness that java has to offer.
    Anyway, it seems to me that you can't get to that variable because it is buried within a method -- think scoping rules. I think that if you want to get at that variable your program design may be under the weather and may benefit from a significant refactoring in an OOP-manner.
    If you need more specific help, then ask away, but give us more information please about what you are trying to accomplish here and how you want to do this. Good luck.

  • Creation of OLAP Variable for Master data

    Dear BW Experts,
    How to Create OLAP Variable for Master data  in SAP BW? What is the use of OLAP Variable?

    The entry column Type (Variable) on the Select Data tabpage indicates a variable time frame in which the data should be requested. The variables are not replaced by concrete values until a request is made. There are eight options:
    Variable            Data request        Description
    0
                          Yesterday
                                            (12am – 12am)
    1

                                                See below
    <b>Time selections with the help of the variables 0 to 4.</b>
    The variables 0-4 only refer to date fields of the data type DATS.
    <b>User time selection</b>
    Type 5 gives you a free selection of all fields.
    If you select this variable for a field, confirm the selection, and then choose Detail for Type, an additional dialog box appears. In this dialog box you can freely limit the values of the fields and determine the next period value and the number of periods until a repetition.
    Variables are placeholders for values and are not replaced by concrete values until a data request is made. You can also use a Variable for selections when requesting data for an InfoObject, if you choose type 7, confirm the selection, and then choose Detail for Type.

  • Not able to access Network Shared Variable when deployed in PC

    Initially, when we deploy a Network Published Shared Variable in PC and try to access the same (Read/Write) from RT, we get an error/warning "-1950679023". But when we access the same variable from the PC, it works fine. In the distributed system manager, we can see the variable getting deployed. Also the value changes in Distributed System Manager if we write a value from PC. The attached image "Shared variable Issue.png" will give more understanding of this issue.
    The other way round it works fine i.e deploying in RT side and accessing from both RT and PC is working fine.
    We also see that the network adapter settings is not loading properly in MAX, if at all we install any software in RT. With no software installed, it loads properly.
    The following were the steps that we tried to solve the issue.
    1.Flushing the entire NI software and Re- installing again
    2.Formatting the RT(PXI).
    3.Removing the EtherCAT Card and testing.
    4.Checked the network properties of the RT network.
    5.Checked the IP/Subnet/Gateway settings.
    6.Checked Firewall Settings, If Shared Variable Engine is accessible.

    First Root cause needs to be identified before any actions.
    I would suggest first check if you can access the shared variable hosted in PC from RT using other ways like using SVE API (Logos and PS protocols, Datasocket etc..)
    Check if antivirus or firewall is playing...
    Check the same experiment with some other PC if you can.
    You can also try creating another Shared Variable in RT and binding the same to the PC and try to access it...
    Since you have did all the reinstallations already

  • Can I use OLAP variable in ABAP Code of infoobject filter

    I have 0FISCPER infoobject in filter section of info-package while loading data.
    Below OLAP varaibles has below dynamic values that are being calculated at run time.
    0P_PRFP2 -  (Current fiscal period - 2)   ex: 2010010
    0P_PRFP1 -  (Current fiscal period - 1)   ex: 2010011
    0FPER    -    (Current fiscal period )        ex: 2010012
    I want to write ABAP CODE FOR using filter values from 0P_PRFP2 to 0FPER. (Last 3 fiscal periods - ex: 2010010 to 2010012).
    how to  use above standard OLAP variables in ABAP CODE to assign l_t_range (low or  high).

    try this using ABAP routine option (6)
    DATA: curryear(4)           type N,
                 currperiod(2)         type N,
                 prevper1(2)           type N,
                 prevyear1(4)         type N,
                 prevper2(2)           type N,
                 prevyear2(4)         type N,
                 prevfiscperYr1(7)   type N,
                 prevfiscperYr2(7)   type N,
                 prevfiscper1(3)      type N,
                 prevfiscper2(3)      type N,
                 w_length1              type i,
                 w_length2              type i.
      curryear = SY-DATUM+0(4).
      currperiod = SY-DATUM+4(2).
      If currperiod EQ '01'.
        prevyear1 = curryear - 1.
        prevper1   =  '12'.
        prevyear2 = curryear - 1.
        prevper2   = '11'.
      elseif currperiod EQ '02'.
        prevyear1 = curryear.
        prevper1   = '01'.
        prevyear2 = curryear - 1.
        prevper2   = '12'.
      else.
        prevyear1 = curryear.
        prevper1   =   currperiod - 1.
        prevyear2 = curryear.
        prevper2   = currperiod - 2.
      endif.
      w_length1 = STRLEN( prevper1 ).
      If w_length1 = 1.
        concatenate '0' prevper1 into prevper1.
      Endif.
      w_length2 = STRLEN( prevper1 ).
      If w_length2 = 1.
        concatenate '0' prevper2 into prevper2.
      Endif.
      concatenate '0' prevper1 into prevfiscper1.
      concatenate '0' prevper2 into prevfiscper2.
      concatenate prevyear1 prevfiscper1 into prevfiscperYr1.
      concatenate prevyear2 prevfiscper2 into prevfiscperYr2.
      l_t_range-low = prevfiscperYr2.
      l_t_range-high = prevfiscperYr1.
    *  modify l_t_range index l_idx from l_t_range.
    l_t_range-sign   = 'I'.
    l_t_range-option = 'BT'.
    modify l_t_range index l_idx.

  • How can I run two different vi's in same project which are accessing same global variable with out effecting the speed of the execution of both the vi's

    Hi
    I have build an Labview project with FPGA target .  I have configured an FPGA VI and an host Vi to acquire data and logged the data to a file and stored the latest data in a global variable simultanously. I have configured one more VI in the same project  to access the global variable.  I have build a dll to access both the VI as functions in LabWindows/CVI code.  My task in CVI is to update configured GUI with latest data periodically and run the  host VI continously for a long time and log the data to a file. GUI should update for every one second with latest data for this I am using the second VI in which I am accessing the global varibale in which the latest data has been stored in host VI.
