Accessing a service from a Flex application embedded within a PDF document

Is it possible to access a Web or EJB service from an application that as been embedded in a PDF document.
I keep getting the exception "Error #2048: Security sandbox violation:
Is there a work around ?
The application embeds perfectly in the PDF document. Very impressive.

I don't know what the problem could be, but, one common problem is having the wrong jars in the client classpath. For 8.1 clients that use the "t3" protocol, ensure that the "weblogic.jar" is in the classpath and that the thin client jars (the wl*.jar files), are not in the classpath.
Also, it looks like the problem may have something to do with authentication. Do you get the same error when you don't specify a username/password? Did you specify a username without a password? or vice-versa?

I am trying to access a WebService on Server A from a Flex application running on Server B. I assume that server A should have a crossdomain.xml file; however, I cannot seem to get it working. I don't really know my Flash/Flex all that well, but a shot in the dark...I think the crossdomain.xml needs to be at the server root, so you'll need to specify the root context, which can be done in weblogic.xml, for a web application containing crossdomain.xml. To see if it works, use a browser to pull back the file:
http://serverA/crossdomain.xml

Flex application embedded in a PDF performing a LC call

Hi,
I have a Flex application that is embedded in a PDF as a navigator which is supposed to invoke LiveCycle application deployed on a weblogic server using SOAP endpoint. The web service call seems to work fine if I run it from Flash Builder but once it’s inside a PDF, it would appear that the web service call is not reaching the application deployed on the Document Service server. The same application, however, does work if the server is deployed on JBoss.
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how I should go about troubleshooting.

Creating a new project it's
- File -> New -> Flex Project
- Application Type -> Desktop
Setting this will create the descriptor file and create the WindowedApplication as the root. This application will startup in a native os window.
Here is an example of creating a simple os child window;

Calling LiveCycle Data Services from a Flex application within AIR

I was experimenting with AIR by migrating some of the Flex TestDrive sample applications and trying to run them as stand-alone apps. Following the examples I found on some blogs, I managed to run the applications that use WebService and HTTPService. However, RemoteObject components fail to detect the destinations associated with the remoting service. A simple remoting example from the TestDrive is "Sample 3: Accessing data using Java RPC" and it produces the following error when running it as an AIR app:

I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Note: I hard-coded the endpoints of all the services in services-config.xml to point to my local JBoss server.

Accessing custom Portal service from a java application

We have a custom portal service that connects to BW using xmla. How do you access this portal service from a java application. Not from web dynpro, jsp or servlet but from the java code.
Can we use the INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY to get access to the portal service.

Now I tried the following:
I've added the prtapi.jar and the service's jar to the additional-lib folder and added the appropriate entries to library.txt and reference.txt.
Now I can obtain now the PortalRuntime, but this is not initialized.
Has anybody a solution for this problem? Help would be high appreciated!

Invoking a Web Service from a mobile application

Hi all,
I have installed Sun Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CDLC and MTJ.
I want to invoke a web service from an MTJ Application and I have not a clue of how to start.
First let me say I am working with RSA (which is over Eclipse)
My first attempt was creating the web service client and then try to convert it into a mobile application (through the use of MTJ --> Convert to Midlet Project)
I found 4 errors when doing so:
First was solved changing the jre to 1.6.
I am still dealing with the following three:

I only started to solve the first one. I assumed that I have to add the right .jar to manifest file (please let me know if I am wrong). I tried to do by adding the textual classpath rt.jar, however I am not able to give it the right path:
C:\Archivos de programa\IBM\SDP\runtimes\base_v7_stub\java\jre\lib\rt.jar (even though I split the too long sentence into two and I include an space at the beginning of the second, I still get an error when saving)
I would appreciate any help
A) to solve the existing problems
or
B) To create a web service client in an EclipseME application through any other method.

If you want to invoke a web service from a JCD you will have to build the SOAP message using JAX-RPC or AXIS and then programmatically creat an HTTP connection.
Or you can leverage the HTTP(S) eWay and then you only have to build the SOAP message.
Or use eInsight. You can import a WSDL into eInsight and eInsight will offer you a business process Activity to invoke the web service operations defined in the WSDL.

SocketTimeoutException when calling a web service from a WD application

I'm trying to call a method of a web service from my WD application. The execution of the method longs more than 60 sec, so I'm always getting:
Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
I've got this post, which tells to change the property "socketTimeout" of the client.

But I don't know what is the client in my WD application, does this refer to the logical port ?
I've tried inserting this into wdInit:

I've tried with Visual Admin -> global configuration -> Http provider -> KeepAliveTimeout, increasing to 120 secs, and still stop at 60s.
I can't change model object code, but I've tried to debug it and setting the property in stubForLogicalPort and in _getGlobalFeatureConfig(), without change.
I'm using a HTTP Destination, does this have something to do?
I'm getting insane with this and I'm in urgent need of help.
How can I change the time the WD waits for the WebService to answer ?

The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Unable to consume secured Web service from a Dynpro application

Hello,
I have followed <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c3/bac36a469e4c75aba646077e71516d/frameset.htm">this tutorial</a>
in order to protect and consume a secured Web service from a Dynpro application using SAP logon ticket.
The problem is that after implementing everything needed I receive 401 Unauthorized when I am trying to consume it from the web dynpro side.
If I manually transfer the request the credentials, before the execute i.e:
modObj._setUser
modObj._setPassword
modObj.execute();
I am able to call it, meaning the dynpro application doesn't transfer these credentials to the Webservice even though it's authentication property is set to true.
Any idea how to solve it?

Issues embedding swf in pdf document?

I have created a small application to illustrate Snell's law as a flash file.
The idea is to integrate it in a online educational book and I have already done so with several simple animations.
This was to be my first application with user input other than start/stop buttons.
The application works fine in a browser or as a stand-alone flash file but when I embed it in the pdf file it doesn't execute properly, nothing happens when buttons are pushed to calculate the equations.
This is my first question here so I don't know how to add my application or an example of it embedded in a pdf document but I guess including them from a filehosting site could work?

By moving a piece of code up through the lines I have found that after line 377, nothing gets executed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see no syntax errors and your code works well so there shouldn't be any issue embedding it. In Acrobat XI I get a preview of the plugin required to view the SWF and I must activate the plugin (very common on windows) by clicking on it. Once I do the SWF embedded in your document works for me, although it doesn't overlap the preview which is stretched to the size of the page whereas the plugin container is the size of the original document. So it works fine for me when viewing as a PDF and if you resize it down to its original document size it should overlap the preview properly. Plugin containers often require permission/activation (a mouse click), that's normal.
I was able to target 10.1/10.2 as the SWF export target rather than FP11. You may want to try downgrading your publish preferences to that which should reduce the overhead of the plugin container. Outside that I see no reason you should have an issue embedding this. I don't have a full copy of master at home to create the PDF to test (openoffice isn't really capable of it) so you'll have to test that yourself but the PDF you linked works for me.

I am not a Word guru, but I don't think you can run a macro from a hyperlink. But you can create an active X label that runs a macro when clicked. You can use the following macro to go to a specific page in a PDF file.
