Accessing codebase through http in RMI
Hi
I am C prgrammer and now badly stuck wid my new found luv- java!
I am working on RMI, where I have a simple client program, sending Hi, Hellos to my server program. Then I created a new class in my rmi client side and tried to send it through the interface to the server. Server gave unmarshelling errors.. which i guess is bcoz it doesnt know about the classes in client side. I follwed similar threads here, and could make out that i must specify a codebase visible to the server where it can see the client files..
I created a policy file in the server as this-
grant codeBase "file:/E:/work/java/"{
permission java.security.AllPermission;
permission java.net.SocketPermssion "*","accept,connect,resolve";
My client fils are in E:/work/java ...
I am getting errors in server side--
Exception in thread "RMI TCP Connection(1)-127.0.0.1" java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 127.0.0.1:2014 accept,resolve)
at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:264)
and client says--
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: Error unmarshaling return header; nested exception is:
java.io.EOFException
at sun.rmi.transport.StreamRemoteCall.executeCall(StreamRemoteCall.java:203)
at sun.rmi.server.UnicastRef.invoke(UnicastRef.java:343)
at sun.rmi.registry.RegistryImpl_Stub.lookup(Unknown Source)
at rmi.client.RmiClient.main(RmiClient.java:33)
Caused by: java.io.EOFException
i know I have done a blunder there.. I also followed from prev threads that I have to specify the codebase as a URL, but again I dont know how to make my client files accessilbe through http ? my files are in say E:/work/java/client directory.... how to access this through URL?
also i tried this on linux where my files are in root/client/ ..
Can you java Gurus help me in solving this, in both the windows and linux versions..
Your help is gr8ly anticipated
thankssss
Any time you see this:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (XXX)for any XXX you need to add the permission XXX inside the brackets to your security .policy file. The syntax required is similar but not identical - read the Javadocs.

if (System.getSecurityManager()==null){

Hello,
Anybody knows the steps to access a standard bsp application, or a copy of that, or an external alias through HTTPS instead of HTTP?
Thanks.
Paul.Yep - just read the documentation [Security aspects for BSP|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1c/db8d3f7057eb0ce10000000a114084/frameset.htm]

Accessing DMS through HTTP Request ...
Hi everyone,
I have searched almost everywhere to find a solution and to prevent duplication to my problem, but no luck!
We are having SAP DMS, and i found a way to connect to the content server through the following sentax:
http://servername:port/script?command¶meters
I am using the following Script: ContentServer.dll
and trying to get a document through the following command: docGet, so I am requesting the server with the following link:
http://servername:port/ContentServer.dll?docGet¶meters,
I have managed to prepare almost all the parameters required to retrieve a document, and when i execute the link, it is prompting a user name and password.
I don't know what shall I provide to retrieve that document.
Also, is there any good way to find the docID without having to do database tracing?
Thanks and Regards...Thanks Rajes,
I have contacted SAP and raised an OSS with the following:
We are trying to retrieve a document from SAP eDMS, and we have figured out that the retrieving process is done through an HTTP Request. We have tried with the following URL:
http://eDMSServer01:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?docGet&pVersion=0046&contRep=Z_DMS_SPC&docId=F01F621C23CD7447B8316A3EFAEB8CB4
But it is giving the following Error Message:
401 (Unauthorized)
Security: Verify SsfEncode failed rc=3,lasterror=0, (null)
So our question is: Can we create a URL that will retrieve a document from our SAP eDMS? If so, how to create that URL?
Also, is there any standard way to retrieve docID without tracing the DB Transaction?
and they replied to me saying:
You cannot directly retrieve a document from the content server for
security reasons.
In order to create a URL (link) to a document that is available in
EasyDMS, use the function 'Copy as URL' or 'Send as URL' from the
EasyDMS context menu.
So I have installed Easy DMS, and figured out how to retrive a document from our DMS. however, I couldn't find Copy as URL or Send as URL from the Context Menu!!
Any Idea, please .... -
hi
Is there any way to tunnel JMS through http like RMI is tunneled.
There is class along with the ApplicationServer "com.evermind.server.jms.JMSHttpTunnelServlet" which seems to be a servlet for tunnling JMS through http.
But there seems to be no documentation or help on how to make use of it.
Can somebody put some light on it? Or, is it possible to make use of third party JMS server to achieve this

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?
What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server. Afterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
How can I redirect the http request to the files I was recorded into my applications/appName folder? Or I need to somehow moved the recorded files to the /webroot folder?
Thanks!I probably have asked a stupid question.
My recorded streams are still saved in the applications/appName/streams folder.
And I redirect the www.mydomain.com/streams to point to the applications/appName/streams folder.
And the rmtp recorded streams are abled to connect through http now. -

How to find users machine / IP who is accessing forms through Oracle AS
Dear Gurus
We need to know the users machine / IP who are accessing forms through Oracle 9i Application Server, how can we find that?
thanks in advance
regards
MehmoodMehmood,
Set serverURL=/forms90/f90servlet/session in the Forms Web configuration default section or add it to the URL to start tracing host name and ip-addresses from clients. The output appears in the servlet log file application.log. sessionperf , perf and debug are the other options instead of session.

How to do .1x port based network access authentication through ACS
How to do .1x port based network access authentication through ACS.
Hi,
802.1x can authenticate hosts either through the username/password or either via the MAC address of the clients (PC's, Printers etc.). This process is called Agentless Network Access which can be done through Mac Auth Bypass.
In this process the 802.1x switchport would send the MAC address of the connected PC to the radius server for authentication. If the radius server has the MAC address in it's database, the authentication would be successful and the PC would be granted network access.
To check the configuration on the ACS 4.x, you can go to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.1/configuration/guide/noagent.html
To check the configuration on an ACS 5.x, you can go to http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5-2/user/guide/acsuserguide/common_scenarios.html#wp1053005

Facing Issues in accessing Portal through IP
Hello Experts,
When i access Portal site through Hostname of the server it works fine, but when through IP ,nothing show up in Content Area and Navigation Panel.also certain other misbehaviour of the application is shown. In SAP documents also wt i hv read is to accessPortal site through Hostname but nowhere read abt accessing it through IP.Can somebody plz clarify can't we access Portal through IP,is it standard recommendation for Portal to access it through Hostname? If we can access then y iam facing all these problems and how to resolve them?Someone plz suggest? My Email Id is [email protected] .
Regards,
SaumyaHi Somya,
you should always request your portal by full qualified domain name (fqdn) which means:
http(s)://<servername>.<domain>(:port)/...
An example:
do not: http://myserver:50000/irj or http://127.0.0.1/irj, etc.
do: http://myserver.mydomain.com:50000/irj or
http://myserver.mydomain.com/irj
If you do not like suggested, you'll get problems:
- top levbel navigation may break after session time out using sso with os
- navigation (javascript issue) may not work properly
- SSO with other application (e.g. using BP's) does not work

I'm working on Ludwig's testcase.
Ludwig's testcase is based on read-only View Objects.
Is it also the case in your application ?
I was unable to reproduce with VOs based on EOs.
With read-only VOs, you can avoid the ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException by setting the "Key Attribute" property for the PK of the Master VO.
See the ADF Developer's Guide, topic "7.9.3 What You May Need to Know About Enabling View Object Key Management for Read-Only View Objects"

To my understanding, everytime any object is accessed via a dblink, a transaction is created on the database; even if one merely selects from a table. For example, whenever we were writing PL/SQL, after we were finished accessing data through a dblink we performed a commit to close any open transaction that opened via selects. Using ADF BC, if we create an entity that accesses a table via dblink, what guarantee that transaction sessions are closed after simple selects (no DML)? How would these transactions be closed if data from a db link is simply displayed in an ADF table or referenced via LOV? Is there perhaps some setting that can be set to open connections without transactions?
Reference: http://www.jlcomp.demon.co.uk/faq/dblink_commit.html
Best Regards,
Valonvalon,
This is indeed a tricky one. You are correct that a transaction is started whenever you do any selects that touch a remote object. The problem that I see is that even if you were somehow able to execute a commit after every SELECT statement, the transaction always executes in the context of an application module - if you committed the transaction, you'd also commit any outstanding transaction going on in the AM at the time. In general, this would be a bad thing, although you may be able to ensure that it is OK for your specific use case. I did a quick scan of the APIs to see if I could locate any method that you could possibly override, but didn't locate anything that looked promising.

When accessing hotmail through Firefox, the unsolicited sidebar internet ads will not load. Why do they error out?

http://hotmail.comHello.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.
