Accessing cookies in Web Dynpro EP7 (NW07 )

In 6.40 (EP6), we were able to access cookies using the following line of code in web dynpro:
Cookie[] cookieset = TaskBinder.getCurrentTask().getApplicationSession().getWebContextAdapter().getHttpServletRequest().getCookies();
We are upgrading to NW07 and the getWebContextAdapter method is no longer available.  Is there a way to access cookies in NW07 through web dynpro java?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi,
Their no way to access the cookies from Webdynpro, it will be handled by the framework.

  • Error occurred when trying to access DC in web dynpro

    Hi,
Have everyone ever encountered an error saying <b>"Unhandled exception caught in event loop"</b> when trying to access DCs in web dynpro?  I tried to add a new action to my main compnent after a used web dynpro component (DC) was added but the web dynpro would shut down automatically.  The web dynpro would shut down accidentally and automatically even when I clicked the interface controller.  Some times, the error log would repport "<b>org.eclipse.swt.SWTError: No more handles</b>"...it has driven me crazy.  I could not go further.  Can someone tell me what I have done wrong to get these errors?!!
    thanks,
    Zita

    Dear Zita,
I error is related tot he message which you get "No more handles".
This definitelly means that there is a bug and old files are not closed , thus the number of handles on OS level is exceeded.
The exact way to debug the "handles" leak is with applying SAP JVM Profiler, using the I/O Analysis feature.

  • How to use Cookies in Web DynPro?

    Hello,
Is there a way to use Cookies in Web DynPro like a regular Servlet uses in it's response Object?
If yes, I could use a code example...
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
    1. This will create a Request Objec containing all the client's request just like in a regular Servlet or does it have special considerations I should worry about?
A: If you have portal and webdynpro components, both have to use the same runtime. If you are using only webdynpro components then you can use the "Task" class. But it is a non-standard API.
    Task.getCurrentTask().getWebContextAdapter().getHttpServletRequest()
    2. Where do you recommend putting this statement? I assume at the wdDoInit() method right?
A: Don't put this statement in the doInit(), if you are handling some event within the component and refreshes the view, your doInit() will not get executed.
    3. Is there a Response object I can create as well?
    A:
    HttpServletResponse response =((com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.adapter.core.IWebContextAdapter) WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter()).getHttpServletResponse()

  • Accessing oracle with web dynpro

    Hey people!
I want to access a simple sql query on an oracle database and write the output in web dynpro.. Do i have to make an ejb for that? an how do i do that? or is it an easier way?

    Kristoffer,
You can take any simple example of using web dynpro and replace test data with data from your sql query.
For example, you can get it from Net Weaver IDE "...\eclipse\examples\WebDynpro_Table.zip"  and change method "createBasket( )". In this method you can directly connect to the DB and apply your data to the web dynpro node instead test data defined in this application.

  • Access files from Web Dynpro component

    Hi,
I need to access files from a Web Dynpro component but I couldn't find any information. Has anyone done this?
    My questions are:
    1. Can I pack these files into the WD component so they can be deploy together?
    2. And what API should I use to access these files?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You can follow the Creating the JCO connections in the Content Administrator section in the following

  • Access Portal Services within Web Dynpro

    Hi,
I created a portal service and would like that some values of the same have to be set by a Web Dynpro application, but i have a problem to access this
service. Always that a i try to get a reference of this service the object isn't instantiated and i get a null instantiated.
What i`m trying to do is the broadcast message described in [/people/prakash.singh4/blog/2005/04/28/brodcast-messages-to-logged-on-users-in-portalpart1 |/people/prakash.singh4/blog/2005/04/28/brodcast-messages-to-logged-on-users-in-portalpart1]with a variation that need of some
more Attributes and that the same will be pass by the Web Dynpro, like the broadcast message i`ll just use the alert concept and don't the publication.
Follow below the describe of executed actions.
1 - I did all the process as the [Weblog|/people/prakash.singh4/blog/2005/04/28/brodcast-messages-to-logged-on-users-in-portalpart1].
2 - I generated the Jar and insert the same in a DC.
3 - I generated the Web Dynpro application, in the used DCs and added the DC with the Jar, and i inserted the reference in a Sharing References.
4 - Did the deploy and insert the Web Dynpro in a Portal Iview.
But always that i execute, i can't capture the reference of the service.
Note: The reference in Sharing References was executed for several diferents forms of test, like for exemple:
    PORTAL:<vendor>/com.teste.broadcast
    PORTAL:com.teste.broadcast
    PORTAL:<vendor>/com.teste.broadcast.alertreceiver
    PORTAL:com.teste.broadcast.alertreceiver
But always adding one at a time.
Until put the saller like sap.com i already try.
The creation of the service as described in the weblog can be accessed for a Web Dynpro? What the problem to access the Service??
    The codes follow Bellow.

    Thanks!
    Piyush

    Hi
First try a very simple application with nothing in it just one text saying Hello World
Run it and see what happens.
Also check if your url uses FQDN name. something like https:
    company.name.co:50000\.......
If you do not use the FQDN it will always show a script error on the bottom and some functions will not work e.g
    dropdowns.
    regards

  • How To Consume UME services in Web Dynpro applications

    Dear Friends,
I am developing a new web dynpro application in which i want to get the user related information in my dynpro code. I have used com.sap.secuirty.jar file in class path -> lib of my project.
I have written code sth like this.
    IUser user = null;
    String username = user.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser();
and defined sap.authentication as a application variable to fetch user creadentials from portal run time.(user logs in to the portal and dynpro application fetches user credentials from portal). When i do this, the login window appears twice and user needs to enter his credentials more than once. If I remove sap.authentication parameter from the application then i am not able to get the user credentials. Could you please tell me the right method of fetching the user credentials in web dynpro application? Do we need to use sap.authentication? do we need to include sharing reference of the usermanagement in our application?
    kindly share your knowledge.

These might be good places for you to start.

  • Pixel tracking in web dynpro abap

    Hi,
I have a scenario where in we are tracking job applicant source. Lets say a job seeker goes to careerbuilder.com and searches for job. At that point, careerbuilder.com sets a cookie in the job seek's computer. when Job seeker clicks to appy for job that takes him to our company sap e-recruiting job application page. when job seeker finally clicks send application button from web dynpro abap,  we are rendering external https url as image using rfc destination from web dynpro abap. The external https url which basically reads the cookie ithat is set by careerbuilder.com site in the client computer.
External url as rfc destination is not reading the cookie even though I have enabled cookie read option and used http1.1 in rfc destination.
does anyone have any idea how sap wda handles client cookie? how can we make a external url which renders as image can be set to no caching? any help is highly appreciated.
    thanks

Here is what I am going.
I retrieve data from a function and it returns a table.  I loop though the table and based on a key column, I set a corresponding URL.  I wanted to display that url right next to the record that I retrieve, thats why I wanted to put it in the table.    The URL is something I am creating on my own.
Isn't it easier to fill a Value Attr. and use it in the Table's LinkToURL?
Maybe - I do not know, that is why I'm asking, what do I need to use and how do I use it.
    Thank you!

  • Reverse proxy and Web Dynpro

    Hello everybody,
We have a portal with some web dynpro iviews in it and we want to use a reverse proxy to block direct access to the web dynpro's. The problem we encounter is that we can not block the web dynpro URL's because then they also do not work in the portal. This is not acceptable for us.
Has anyone encountered this problem or knows a solution?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Christohpe

  • Error - Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions

    Dear All,
we are trying to implement a web dynpro application with accessing ABAP functions.
    Previous tasks:
    -     insert the ABAP system into the SLD from the NWDI System (Transaction RZ70; the ABAP system is correctly insert into the SLD => technical systems)
    -     equipped the JCO connections with the web dynpro content manager (ping and test = OK)
It’s the standard tutorial out of the SDN called “Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions”.
    Some hints:
    -     There are no errors after the implementation and the “rebuild” of the project in the NWDS
    -     The auto deployment works fine to the development runtime system. The application is shown in the Web Dynpro content manager
    -     The In the build log I found these entries:

    -     I’m able to start the application out of the Web Dynpro content manager with “run” => only the user interface is displayed without any functionality
    -     The “normal” start over the NWDS fails => error text
“com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: The requested deployable object 'local/J08_Flugdat_Daventdcflight~xxx.com' and application 'FlightListApp' are not deployed on the server. Please check the used URL for typos.”
There two different URLs in use.
    Start via NWDS:
    http://frasapp562:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/J08_Flugdat_Daventdcflight~xxx.com/FlightListApp
Start via web dynpro content manager:
    http://frasapp562:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/xxx.com/aventdc~flight/FlightListApp
For test purposes, we started the BAPI (BAPI_Flight_Getlist) on the ABAP system directly. It works.
Any ideas about the system behaviours (different URLs and missing functionality)?
    Thanks a lot in advanced!
    Best regards
    Christoph

The Error has been solved – The implementation of a method was missing....
