Accessing Dynamically Generated Spry Checkboxes

I've got a list with checkboxes that is generated with a data
set. When the user checks some boxes and clicks "Assign" I need the
assign function to run, serializing the checkbox values and running
an ajax update. However, when I run my loop in the function to add
each checkbox to an array, I always get the value of the checkbox
as undefined....and the length as well.....I'm wondering, if a
checkbox is generated dynamically in a Spry repeat region, does it
get added to the DOM? Am I missing something?

Let me try to make that more understandable.
I have 2 forms. 1 Form contains a repeating Spry list that
generates checkboxes. The ID's and Value's of the checkboxes are
dynamically generated based on the dataset.
My 2nd form is a dummy form, just one I built to test - no
spry, no nothing - just 3 check boxes with the same names and
different values.
When I run my function based on the dummy form, it does
everything I want it to. When I run the form on the Spry form, it
breaks.
I inspected the element w/ Safari and saw the Source still
shows the Spry code, however, the DOM shows the executed Spry
(there's really multiple checkboxes).
Has anybody else run into this type of problem? It's driving
me nuts and I'm 21 hours past deadline.

  • Accesing dynamically generated UI elemnts using Automation tool

    Hi,
    I want to test my iOS app. It contains dynamically generated UI elemnts.
    I can't print them with logElementTree() and I don't know how to access the  dynamically generated elements.
    If there is any way I can access dynamically generated elements using a script?
    Any help will be highly apreciated
    Thank You and best regards
    Aruna

    I am beginning to think that there is no solution to my problem. Let me better define the problem:
    1. Automation tool does not see extended check box.
    2. The container of extended check box is standard tree (nothing to instrument).
    3. Extended check box is third party component which was derived from standard button, and not standard check box (theoretically nothing to instrument again).
    4. Extended check box was used in item renderer class of the tree.
    Maybe elements used in item renderers cannot be exposed to automation tools (I have tried FlexMonkey and RiaTest, but they both failed)?

  • Acessing dynamic generated checkBoxes

    Hello:
    I have a page with a unknown number of checkBoxes
    <af:forEach var="chart" items="#{row.charts}">
    <af:panelGroup type="horizontal" inlineStyle="text-align:center;">
    <af:outputText value="#{chart.week}"/>
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id="chartweek"/>
    </af:panelGroup>
    </af:panelGroup>
    </af:forEach>
    Since these are dynamic generated, i don't have any back-end counterparts, so what i want is to access a array of all the checkBox components in order to see if they are checked and if they are to get their ID?
    So my question is, how can i get all components on a Form from the back-end Java code?
    Thanks a lot.

    I am trying to use the selectManyCheckBox and can't figure it out. I tried using the same type of logic as the SelectManyShuttle in the srdemo, but can't get it to work. The checking of values works (those get populated is my list of selected), but the unchecking doesn't seem to happen (even after unchecking they show up in my list of selected). How did you build the list of booleans?
    Thanks,

  • Making a dynamically generated field as Read Only

    Hi All,
    I am extending a standard CO and in that I wanted to make an entire table as read only. I checked by personalizing the page from front end, but as the items are dynamically generated fields , they are not visible in personalize page.
    So is there any way to cach these fields and make them read only programmatically.

    Hi Pratap,
    I have looked into the view source and took the name of a input type ( There is no ID for the field) and used it in findIndexedChild, but it returns a null. I guess this is happening is the current CO is a mere region level CO and it is not being given the access.

  • How to run business services as dynamically generated Subject?

    Hi experts,
    I have configured a business service which puts a message on a JMS queue in a weblogic container other than ALSB's weblogic container.The queue is configured with a security policy [say a 'MessagePublisher' role], so that only users with role of 'MessagePublisher' can send message to that queue.
    We have different partners SFTPing messages(xml/csv/excel format) to us, of which only few of them would have a role of 'Message Publisher'. I have configured a proxy to read these files from a directory, however sender of some of these messages may not have a role of 'Message Publisher'.
    I am expecting the senders' credentials to be appended to the message by some process on SFTP server. How can I generate a 'Subject' within a proxy using these credentials and do a run as on the business service, so that only users with the role of 'MessagePublisher' succeed in sending message to the queue.
    I probably can configure my business service to run as a user account who has the relevant role, but I do not want to hard code the UserAccount within business service and obtain a user account using sender's credentials.
    Is ALSB not supposed to be used as suggested above?Would highly appreciate any thoughts on this..
    Regards.

    The JMS business service can use only a static service account. I think this has an undesirable implication that the business service cannot be invoked as a dynamically generated subject.
    Only way I know of to enforce role based access control in this scenario is to have an extra proxy service in front of JMS business service. Enforce access control over this extra proxy service.
    To invoke this extra proxy service with credentials embedded embedded in the message, I think you need to look at "custom authentication" option under message level security. I am not sure how this would work. May be someone here can explain that.

  • Cross column radio group solution using dynamically generated HTML

    I am tasked with creating a screen in Apex matching look and feel of an existing application screen; tabular form, multiple column radio buttons to update a single column value (radio group needs to be row oriented, across multiple columns). I could not find a way to use HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP () function for this due to the radio group being column based, great as a row selector but not for use across columns (each button being a column).
    My first thought was to comprise and use checkboxes via HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX () for the multiple choices (in each column) and HTMLDB_ITEM.HIDDEN() to hold the chosen value, a JavaScript function for “onClick” event to make the checkboxes in one row act like radio buttons in a radio group. I created a simple application to show the concepts of my solutions …
    SQL looks like this:
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(11, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f11, ''RED'')"', 'RED') red,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(12, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f12, ''BLUE'')"', 'BLUE') blue,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(13, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f13, ''GREEN'')"', 'GREEN') green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    Columns pk_id and color_choice are set as Show off and Display As Hidden. Note that my HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX items start with id number 11 (f11 – f13) so as not to conflict with the item id’s Apex will generate on it’s own. I could have used HTMLDB_ITEM functions to create all items and had my own PL/Sql update process.
    This creates a tabular presentation with a column for each color choice as a checkbox, shown checked if that color is initially set.
    The JavaScript function chkboxAction() clears the other checkboxes if a color is selected and stores the color in the hidden item db column for use in Apex Submit processing. Sorry the identation get's lost in the post!
    function chkboxAction (id, ckbx, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f11 is RED checkbox
    // f12 is BLUE checkbox
    // f13 is GREEN checkbox
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using pk_id passed in as id argument.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    if (ckbx(idx).checked == true) {
    // Set hidden color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    // Uncheck them all, then reset the one chosen.
    document.wwv_flow.f11(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f12(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f13(idx).checked = false;
    ckbx(idx).checked = true;
    } else {
    // Unchecked so clear color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = '';
    This works well and, as an aside, has an added feature that the color can be “unchosen” by unchecking a checked checkbox and leaving all checkboxes unchecked. This cannot be done with radio buttons unless a radio button is added as “no color”.
    But what if radio buttons must be used, as in my situation? Here is another solution using custom code to dynamically generate radio buttons for a row based radio group rather than using HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP ().
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_1" value="RED" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'RED', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''RED'')">' red,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_2" value="BLUE" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'BLUE', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''BLUE'')">' blue,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_3" value="GREEN" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'GREEN', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''GREEN'')">' green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    The pk_id column is used here to ensure a unique name and unique id for the items. In practice a custom api should be used to generate items in this way.
    The JavaScript function is actually simpler for radio buttons because the radio group handles the mutually exclusive logic for choosing a color.
    function rbAction (id, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using evaluation_question_id.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    // Set hidden result column referenced in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    Now the problem is that on update, Apex will be confused by the custom items and try to post updated values to it’s own internal items – which don’t exist. The result is the very frustrating HTTP 404 - File not found error when apex/wwv_flow.accept executes on Submit. So, the trick is to clear the custom items prior to the update with a simple JavaScript function, then the values show again when the page is rerendered, if you are not branching from the page. The Submit button is changed to call the following function:
    function submit () {
    var items = document.getElementsByTagName("INPUT");
    for (i=0; i< items.length; i++) {
    if (items(i).type == "radio") {
    if (items(i).checked == true)
    items(i).checked = false;
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    This technique might have general use when using custom items. Comments or improvements on this?

  • Including dynamically generated pages in jsp

              Hello All, Scenario is like this, i am creating the dynamic htmls pages, in the
              servlets and after creating the htmls pages in the servlets , the control passes
              to the jsp page, where i am including the html page that is created at the servlets,
              its works fine, but some time it shows me null exception at the jsp page, i.e
              it won't find the htmls pages, even they are created b'fore. I am using weblogic
              server 6.1 with sp3. Can anybody know what is the reason.

    After you have generated checkbox by jsp, you have to generate JavaScript for the checkboxes.
    <%
    // assume I have found I need to generate 5 checkboxes with jsp
    int chkboxCount = 5;
    String user = request.getParameter("user");
    boolean showUser = false;
    if (user!=null && user.trim().length()>0){
      showUser = true;
    %>
    <script lang="JavaScript">
    var chkcount = <%=chkboxCount%>;
    for (int i=0; i<chkcount; i++)
         alert(i);
    <%
    if (showUser)
    %>
        alert("hello <%=user%>");
    <%
    %>
    </script>It is difficult to trace though.

  • Dynamically generating colums

    Hi Experts,
    i have one requirement.
    just i will explain u with an example.
    i have ekko header in selection screen .
    i want to retrive ekko items for the selected ekko header and display the item data horizontally along with the header.
    so the columns shud be generated  dynamically.
    now i want to fill itab with that  values and generate extra colums for that .
    so if anybody worked on such scenerio pls reply me with the solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kranthi

    You can try for example something like this, to dynamically generate a table/structure:
    DATA: struct_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
          table_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_tabledescr.
    DATA: table TYPE REF TO data.
    DATA: compontents TYPE COMPONENT_TABLE.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <comp> LIKE LINE OF components.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <table> TYPE ANY TABLE, <structure> TYPE ANY, <field> TYPE ANY.
    * Create table/structure
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE components ASSIGNING <comp>.
    <comp>-name = 'field'.
    <comp>-type = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'CHAR50' ).
    struct_type = cl_abap_structdescr=>create( components ).
    table_type = cl_abap_tabledescr=>create(struct_type).
    CREATE DATA table TYPE HANDLE table_type.
    ASSIGN table->* TO <table>
    * Fill table
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
    ASSIGN COMPONENT 'field' OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
    <field> = 'value'.
    * Access table
    LOOP AT <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
      WRITE: 'Line:', sy-tabix.
      LOOP AT components ASSIGNING <comp>.
        ASSIGN COMPONENT <comp>-name OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
        WRITE: / <comp>-name, ':', <field>.
      ENDLOOP.
      WRITE /.
    ENDLOOP.
    What you need to know is the components of your structure, before creating the data type. But you could use this table to store your data for display in the ALV.
    You can also get the components of an existing structure and add your fields to that:
    struct_type ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'EKKO' ).
    components = struct_type->get_components( ).

  • How to expose to test automation dynamically generated third party component

    We need to expose to test automation extended check box (which is not our component), that is dynamically generated and works together with tree.
    So, our application contains the  following code:
    import org.sepy.ui.CheckBoxExtended;
    checkBox = new CheckBoxExtended();
    Then all properties of check boxes are set dynamically.
    These check boxes are  used with the tree, to select  any of its nodes.
    When using test automation tool (we are evaluating RiaTest), automation tool agent sees the tree, but it does not see checkboxes, and therefore selection  of tree node cannot be automated.
    Is there any  way to make automation tool agent see this check box? There is a procedure for instrumenting custom components, but this is like third party component.
    Thanks,
    Miroslaw

    I am beginning to think that there is no solution to my problem. Let me better define the problem:
    1. Automation tool does not see extended check box.
    2. The container of extended check box is standard tree (nothing to instrument).
    3. Extended check box is third party component which was derived from standard button, and not standard check box (theoretically nothing to instrument again).
    4. Extended check box was used in item renderer class of the tree.
    Maybe elements used in item renderers cannot be exposed to automation tools (I have tried FlexMonkey and RiaTest, but they both failed)?

  • Dynamic generate JCheckBoxes...

    Hello,
    can anybody give me an impulse?
    It concerns the following:
    - my script is reading out a folder (reading out the names of the files in this folder)
    - I get a String[] array with the names in it
    - on the basis of the names in the String[] array I will dynamic generate some JCheckBoxes
    - my problem is that I don't know how I can dynamic generate the names of the JCheckBoxes, because the data types are different
    Regards,
    kostro03

    JCheckBox[] folderReadOutAsCheckBoxes (File file) {
        String[] fileNames = file.list ();
        JCheckBox[] checkBoxes = new JCheckBox[files.length];
        for (int i = 0; i < checkBoxes.length; i ++) {
            checkBoxes[i] = new JCheckBox (fileNames);
    // add listeners and such
    return checkBoxes;
    }Remember that [[i]i] is being replaced with <i> by the parser.

  • When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the original file name being replaced during the downloading process?

    When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the file name being changed during this downloading process?

    Hi Glenyse,
    Here are my steps.
    1.  I upload multiple image (jpg) files onto my photo album.
    2.  I select the "sharing" by email option for this album.
    3.  I enter the recipient's email address.
    4.  The recipient receives my message and clicks on the link.
    5.  The recipient accesses my photo album and clicks on one of the images.
    6.  The image opens up to its own screen.
    7.  The recipient selects the "download" and then save file option.
    Here is the part I do not understand.  For some reason, during this "download" process, the original name which I have given to the file is replaced by different name.  So I was hoping that someone knows how to prevent the file name from being changed during the "download and save" process.
    Much appreciated if you can help me find a solution to this problem.

  • Dynamic generated SQLfor report regions

    is it possible to do the following to generate the sql statement of a report region dynamically?
    for example i have on page 1 some checkboxes ( to show or not to show columns of the report)
    checkbox1: show col1
    checkbox2: show col2
    checkbox2: show col2
    based on the selection of these checkboxes i would like to dynamically generate the sql content of a report region on page2
    Select col1, col3,
    from my_table

    Andy, thank you very much! this looks perfect to me.
    just one more question:
    Is it ( or will it be) possible to change the sql source of a report region itself dynamically
    my "dream" would be an object related approach like :
    reportregion_name.sql_source = v_sql;
    where v_sql is generated dynamically by a procedure or process.
    i had a look at ps/sql dynamic regions, but i have the feeling that i would loose all advantages of APEX ( like page rendering,...)

  • Dynamically generate a file

    I'm trying to create a page which dynamically generates an xml file from a form, then allow the user to download that file into their computer. Check http://www.binsearch.info for example (after typing in a search query, check one checkbox and hit "Create NZB"). Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Hi Jyeragi,
    To convert the data to the SQL table format, please try this function out-sql:
    out-sql Powershell function - export pipeline contents to a new SQL Server table
    If I have any misunderstanding, please let me know.
