Accessing Interactive Report Fields

I have an interactive report with a SQL query to generate data for the region. I want to hide the region and search for records using the interactive search fields.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Ijaz

Hi bobmagan,
If you go to Report Attributes of Report then you can edit the field whose width you want to control, then in Column Formatting in CSS Style type width:100px
you can type any number as you need.

  • Create separate PDF files from MS Access Database report field

    In the development or update of pipe specifications the valve specifications (database records) that are associated with the piping specification are updated or corrected.  These revised valve specifications are then exported as a group through the Access Report Print to PDF file with the piping specification name for the file name.  Each separate valve specification within this single file needs to have its own PDF Valve spec file name so that each valve spec can be attached to project engineering documents or for purchasing.  All of the valves are coded in the in the database and projects with this general description, V-?????? with each question mark representing a descriptive part of the valve.  MS Access database has this V-?????? field name for every valve record in this large database.  The current practice is extract from the single PDF file page thumbnails and rename every extracted file.  With over 1000 valve records being updated, the task is time consuming.

    These are the settings.

  • Add line break in name of an interactive report computed field

    I have a computed field in an IRR and need the name of this field to be broken into 2 lines. In regular columns I can add "br" right in the column attributes but if I use that in the computed field name, the HTML "br" actually shows up in the field name. How can I do this?

    Here is a threa dealing with a nowrap issue for an IRR, try making the nowrap setting in the css a wrap and see what happens..

  • Enable email field on Interactive report

    Hi,
    I have a column that contains the contact email as well an other column that contains the website of the company both displayed on an interactive report .
    Does anyone knows what I need to do to be able to:
    1. Click on the email (on the report) and open the local email client to send an email
    2. Click on the URL field (on the report) and open the default browser to visit that site
    Thank you

    for the mail question, you would create a tag like this as a report column:
    <a href="mailto:youremailaddress">Email Me</a>
    or with a subject
    <a href="mailto:[email protected]?subject=DAMIFINOY">

  • Interactive report with checkbox and editable field

    Hi,
    For a project I'm working on I need to create a interactive report in Apex 3.2 with the ability to select lines and to modify one of the columns in the report.
    To do this, I started off by adding these two fields to the selection query of my IR:
    apex_item.checkbox(1, product_number) cb
    and
    apex_item.text (2,QTY_TO_ORDER) QTY_TO_ORDER
    cb is the checkbox files, and QTY_TO_ORDER is the editable field.
    That worked like a charm and I got my two fields in the report.
    To process the values, I added this page process, wich for now should only store the "product number" and "QTY_TO_ORDER" fields in a table.
    BEGIN
    FOR i in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.count LOOP
    insert into mytmptable values (APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i),APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02(i));
    END LOOP;
    commit;
    end;
    However, this doesn’t work the way I want it to work. When I check the checkboxes of two rows, it will store two rows with the right product numbers, but it will take the top two QTY_TO_ORDER field of the table regardless of which ones are checked. I was able to solve this problem, by adding a rownum to the query and using the rownum as the value for the checkbox. Since I still need the product_number and qty_to order fields I made them both text fields.
    I changed my page process to:
    BEGIN
    FOR i in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.count LOOP
    insert into mytmptable values (APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02(APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)),
    APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)));
    END LOOP;
    commit;
    end;
    This seemed to solve the problem, and I now got the right values in the table, unless I used sorting in the report... As soon as I sorted the report in a way different than by rownum, I got the wrong values in the table. The reason for this is of course that my insert just selects the nTh row from the table, and my rownums aren't dynamic.
    I've found a lot of examples on the internet using '#ROWNUM#' in the selection, which should dynamically generate a rownum in the report. This seems to work in normal report, but in a interactive reports, the literal values '#ROWNUM#' shows up.
    Is there any way to solve this issue?

    Hi,
    Try with 3 fields:
    apex_item.checkbox(1, product_number) cb,
    apex_item.text (2,QTY_TO_ORDER) QTY_TO_ORDER,
    apex_item.hidden(3, product_number) prod_no
    The hidden field should be display as a hidden column.
    Then your process can be:
    BEGIN
    FOR i in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.count LOOP
    FOR j in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03.count LOOP
    IF APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i) = APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(j)) THEN
    insert into mytmptable values (APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i),APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02(j));
    exit;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;

  • SAP CRM 7.0 - Interactive reporting tool enhancing reports with new fields

    Hi Everyone,
    I am a BW Professional, currently working on evaluating the true benefits of implementing Interactive Reporting tool for our company. As I understand the Interactive reporting tool restricts us to report on individual reporting areas like Activities, Leads, Opportunties etc.
    But according to our business it is very important for us to be able to report on cross reporting areas real time i.e. activities & leads together or activties, leads & opportunties together etc.
    I learned about the enhancement work bench in interactive reporting tool where we can add SAP fields to individual reporting areas, so I thought of adding leads & opportunties to activities. This is where the fun part starts.
    Here I learned that all activty ID, Lead ID and Oppo ID are all fed from one single field from SAP CRM i.e. OBJECT_ID, which means the system is dividing this data into individual reporting areas based on type of data i.e. leads or oppor's etc. and may be based on some key like account etc. So here is a technical question, for me to add a new field to a reporting area I have to give a field name but we already have OBJECT_ID from where I am pulling activties data, so if I want to include leads also in activties then I will have to add some logic manually to get that and can't use enhancement workbench because it is for missing fields from SAP CRM whereas in my case I already have OBJECT_ID from where I am getting Activity data.
    Sorry if I am driving you guys crazy but I am just trying to think loud to make myself clear with concepts.
    Also I have seen that a reporting area in Interactive reporting tool is based on a BW query, but I am not sure why not all the fields in BW query are available for reporting in Interactive reporting tool?
    Any help or commets will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SRV

    Hello,
    checking with the config wizard is always a good idea since it's the only supported way to configure this scenario
    The secret is that you apparently did not activate the report areas. It is a bit missleading that the queries are checked before the report areas are checked, therefore you see the errors concerning the queries first. Below those errors you should find some lines like
        Report areas: delivered 15, active <?>
        CRM interactive reports: delivered 20, active <?>
        Activation of report areas checked
    The last line offers some documentation and the actual link to activate the report areas.

    Is there a known issue with using the interactive report in version 3.1.2.00.02 with SQL that is accessing tables via a database link? I get the error 'not all variables bound', I do not get this error when using the standard report for the same SQL?

  • Custom date fields in Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I am using newly patched version of Apex - 4.0.2.00.06
    What I am trying to do is to have two datepicker fields P84_DATE_FROM and P84_DATE_TO in separate HTML region, on the page that has IR / Interactive Report, that will be filter in report source.
    In debug mode I noticed that values that are picked with datepicker are not binding in report sql.
    select * from calendar_x
    where
    date between to_date(:P84_DATE_FROM,'DD.MM.YYYY') and to_date(:P84_DATE_TO,'DD.MM.YYYY')
    Do I have to force submit on Go button before it executes gReport.search('SEARCH')? Is it the right way to go about this?
    Thnx,

    Hi Vish,
    I was informed by SAP few months back that Interactive Reports can not be enhanced with custom fields. I don't see any documentation regarding this.
    You may want to check with SAP also.

  • Adding new fields in interactive reports in Opportunity area

    Hi All,
         We have implemented SAP CRM 7.0 ( SP8) and we are using the interactive reporting available in the system.  When we try to build a custom report using the manage reporting link (which leads to a wizard), the wizard lets us choose between 34 available fields in opportunity area. The customer wants to include few more fields to this list like Prospect id, Opportunity id, Item descriptions which are standard fields but not available in interactive reporting. So I am trying to find out from where in system those 34 fields are configured and how I can add few extra fields to that list.
    With EHP1, SAP has provided a interactive reporting enhancement workbench, but we are on SP8. So any help or information is highly appreciated.

  • Simple way to change color of field in an interactive report

    Is there a simple way with css to change the color of a field in an interactive report. I want certain fields to stand out.
    Can you provide an example and where the code is inserted in APEX? TY.

    jfr620 wrote:

    The appearance of cells based on the report structure can be controlled using CSS: +{message:id=10373505}+
    Conditional formatting based on cell values is better handled using the built-in highlighting, or Dynamic Actions/JavaScript, which provide better separation of concerns than generating HTML in the query: +{message:id=10493230}+
    (For even better separation, use the Dynamic Action to apply <tt>class</tt>es rather than setting style properties directly, and use separate CSS rules to apply the formatting.)

  • Higlighting currency fields in interactive report

    I have an interactive report where two cells need to be highlighted if the values in these two cells are not equal. Both cells have the currency mask (FML999G999G999G999G990D00) in the column attributes. I have modified the sql for the first column based on info in this forum. However when I use the span tag to conditionally highlight the cell, the format mask is apparently overriden by the span tag in the SQL statement. Is there a way to have both highlighting and a currency mask on the same cell?
    SQL for report
    SELECT  CASE
                     WHEN TO_NUMBER (v.committed) < pwd.obligatedamt
                     THEN '<span style="background-color:yellow;">' || TO_NUMBER (v.committed) || '</span>'
                     ELSE
                        TO_CHAR (v.committed)
          END committed, ...Thanks,
    Kim

    Figured it out. Here is the revised code. Instead of using the Number / Date Format field in the column definition (in APEX) and the span tag in the select statement, put all the formatting in the select statement and leave the Number / Date Format field blank in APEX.
    SELECT  CASE
                     WHEN v.committed < pwd.obligatedamt
                     THEN
                           '<span style="background-color:yellow;">'
                        || TO_CHAR (v.committed, 'L999G999G999G999G990D00')
                        || '</span>'
                     ELSE
                        TO_CHAR (v.committed, 'L999G999G999G999G990D00')
