• How to connect mysql database using xml

welcome to all,
here my doubt is how to connect mysql database using xml file, how to integrate xml file and jsp file and how to access data from dabase using jsp file. can any one help me
regards

Short answer: you wouldn't do any of those things. The first two are meaningless and the third is a bad practice. I have no idea what those ideas were supposed to achieve so I have no idea what tutorials I should suggest to you.

• Connecting external middleware using xml-rpc

Hello together,
I'm not a SAP specialist. But I have to integrate an external middelware in the eh&s module. The middleware is offering a xml-rpc interface only.
Can anybody tell me best practices to connect an external middleware using xml-rpc?
My ideas are to develop a JCo for the R3 based systems an to use JCA for the NetWeaver systems.
Is that best practice?
Thanks and regards,

Hi,
I am trying to implement and run the sample application given under {Forte_Root}/install/examples/xmlsvr.
I have done all the required steps, but I am getting this error given below.
I am using soap-2_3 for SOAP and xerces-2_2_1 for XML parser, my server (Forte UDS)is on windows NT.
Please Note:- While connecting to the External web sites from my office, I need to connect through the firewalls and I need to give the user name and password to access the external web sites.
so my question is,
1. while connection to the server (Forte UDS SO) does it make connection to external website such as
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema"
xmlns:xsd1="http://localhost/bankservices.xsd"
xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/"
xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/">
and since i have to connect through the firefall and use the passwords, Am I not able to make connection?
2. Does any body of you had similar problem and how you are able to resolve this.
3. If I need to give user name and password, while making connection to external website, can you please tell, where I need to specify that. (Will it be in WSDL file etc)?

• Not well defined classpath when using XML-RPC

Hello,
im trying to setup a webservice using XML-RPC
I get real time ClassNotDefined exceptions, and all i can suppose, i haven't set up the classpath correctly.
I must inform you, that i've allready put the xerces.jar, xmlrpc-1.2-b1.jar (and so on...) at my (JAVA_HOME)\jre\lib and (JAVA_HOME)\jre\lib\ext folders. I use the following statements :
import java.io.IOException;
import org.apache.xmlrpc.*;
import org.apache.xerces.parsers.*; //for the server-side
import java.io.IOException;
import java.util.Vector;
import org.apache.xmlrpc.*;
import org.apache.xerces.parsers.*; //for the client-side
I've allready worked with SAXParsers and jdom, but i think that the classes i used there are distributed with the standard jdk-1.4 version i use.
So, any suggestions? How can i setup my classpath for the XML-RPC programms, if that's the problem?
Any help would be very very appreciate
Thank you

Thanks, I'll have the dev team take a look and put in a fix.

Hi,
If you mean how to access eBusiness Suite from within the Virtual Machine, then you just navigate to the same URL you normally would. You may need to put the machine alias in your hosts file if you are referencing it via machine name rather than IP address.
If you mean that you want to load the form in forms builder (for example) then you need to FTP the form from server to client (as you normally would) and then open it in your client (XP virtual machine).
If you want to use Workflow Builder (as per your original requirement) then you need to ensure that the TNSNAMES.ora file in the Workflow Builder home has an entry for your instance on Linux, and then you should be able to connect to the database directly.

• Oracle 10g/11g database use on UEK versus Red Hat kernel? How widely used?

Greetings
is there any official or semi-official information regarding how widely used is Oracle UEK to run Oracle 10g/11g database (RAC or single-node) versus running Oracle database on Red Hat Linux or on Oracle Linux with Red Hat kernel ?
I am asking because at my customer site there is a perception that Red Hat (or Oracle Linux with Red Hat kernel) is much more widely used in production to run Oracle 10g/11g database and therefore it will provide better stability even if the performance may be somewhat reduced compared to Oracle UEK option.
So I need some sort of approximate percentage numbers of how well is UEK used in Linux Oracle community to run Oracle 10g/11g databases.
Many thanks.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence. Well, in my opinion, a higher market share does not reflect the quality or reliability of a product. Take MS Windows for example. Unfortunately, the reason for success is often not due to knowledge and experience, but rather due to fear and sheep effect or herd behavior.
Perhaps you can use other arguments or questions to help you to make a decision, eg.:
Oracle has a better understanding of what Oracle products require than Red Hat.
Oracle takes full responsibility for the OS and Database, no finger pointing.
Oracle tries to provide a better product than the RHEL kernel.
The Oracle UEK kernel contains Oracle driver software, not available for RHEL 6 or later.
Oracle updates are free of charge, RHEL requires a subscription.
Oracle as a company is about 20 times bigger than Red Hat.
There can be reasons that require the use of the original RHEL kernel, for instance if the vendor of a specific driver for your hardware demands it. But otherwise...

• Limited account users not able to access oracle 9.2 database

I have installed oracle 9.2 database on windows server 2003 enterprise, I am having 35 users that login through terminal server to use a application developed in VB6 and uses oracle database, Now if I put all users in administrator group of 2003 everything is working OK , but if I remove them from administrator group they receive the following error after starting the application
"Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation. Provider is unable to function until these components are installed."
I dont want these users in administrator group as this can be a risk for my setup,but unfortunately I until have no solution for this rahter then keeping them in Administator group.
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
Tahnks

On the client terminals, you need to install Oralce client software to make sure that the clients and server can communicate. Have you installed it? How the clients are connecting to the database, by some tnsnames or in your application, are you using some DSN or something which is using some tnsnames entry?

• How to access images stored in database using forms

i have created a table which stores images in bfile type
i would like to access the images along with other data
stored in forms.iam not able to get the image using select statement.could anyone tell me the format using which i would be able to access the image.

in my impression, Oracle's samples store the BFILE images off line though if I did not remember wrong.
If you can create a form type form using form wizard based on that image table, then you may execute query to view the image. But SELECT ... INTO will not work for LOBs on form.
If off line in file system, you may try to READ_IMAGE_FILE().

hi
Thanks for your reply.
I am using JAXB Parser for parsing. Here is my code.
// Prepare for XML marshalling
JAXBContext jaxbContext = JAXBContext.newInstance(ProductVariant.class);
Marshaller marshaller = jaxbContext.createMarshaller();
marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, Boolean.TRUE);
StringWriter stringWriter = new StringWriter();
// Marshall product variant to XML
marshaller.marshal(objProductVariant, stringWriter);
// Prepare request content
String entityString = stringWriter.toString();
StringEntity entity = new StringEntity(entityString);
entity.setContentType("application/xml");
httpPost.setEntity(entity);
// Execute API call
HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(httpPost);ProductVariant is a class name and objProductVariant is a name of object.
When I check the entityString value, 3½ is present there but after saving it, when I check in database it store 3 only.

• Updating a database using XML SQL Utility

Hi all,
It seems that the Oracle XML SQL Utility provides only to insert rows into a table/view. However, if one wants to update a table from an XML no support is available.
How does one proceed if this is to be achieved?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Manoj
null

While inserting i get a
oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException and further a
NumberFormatException. Which parameter do I have to set to avoid
these Exceptions. I can insert the file in my local db but I get
the Exception on the server db. The value I want to insert for
expample is 30,1. Maybe the JDBC-Driver tries to convert the String ;30,1+ to an
Integer-Object. This will cause the described Exception since
the Integer-Class requires ;.+ instead of ;,+ for decimal point.
I have another problem generating an xmlfile when there
are "Umlaute" in the data. E.g. V and \. Exchanging these to Oe
and Ue than it works fine.Use ISO-8859-1 character set to work with umlauts, e.g.:
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'ISO-8859-1'?>
.. but you can use the default UTF-8 encoding too, umlauts will
be replaced by equivalents as ;CŸ+

• How to access Oracle Mobile Server logs using PL/SQL?

I am starting to use Oracle solutions so I am a complete rookie.
I'm doing a project which requires to present the logs of mobile devices using the Oracle Mobile Server (integrated in Oracle Database Lite).
Does the mobile server have services I could use or do I have to parse the log files?
Thanks in advance for any support given!
Edited by: Hugo Zenha on 15-Apr-2009 07:40

basic details for the sync history is MOBILEASDMIN.C$SYNC_HISTORY. This will give you the client id (name), start and end times, success or failure (and error if fail) plus the total data volumes uploaded and downloaded.
You can get further detail by joining c$sync_his_pub_items on session_id, and this gives the detail of each table uploaded (phase=UPLOAD) in terms of timings and records, and the same for the download. upload tends to be the full set of tables (records=0 for no activity), whilst download is only the active tables, and includes whether a complete refresh was done
You can get information for the MGP process using c$mgp_history and c$mgp_his_clients
As all the repository data is stored in the database, there is a lot of possibly interesting stuff if you look through.
We use SQL and PL/SQL to do reports on the different users having syncs within a period for cross charging and identifying clients having problems

• Oracle 10 xe access oracle 9.2 database?

On windows xp, I have oracle 9.2 installed and working. I have oracle xe installed and working. sqlplus (xe version) sees xe db fine. sqlplus (9.2) version sees 9.2 database fine.
Can the xe sqlplus be made to see the 9.2 database? Likewise, I'd like sql developer to see the 9.2 database.
I have 9.2 listener listening to 1521. I have xe listener listening to 1522. I add an entry for my 9.2 database into my xe tnsnames.ora, but does not work.
When I use xe sqlplus to connect to 9.2 database, I get the following. What am I missing?
SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Mon Nov 13 10:52:37 2006
Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.
ERROR:
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener

When I set the tns_admin environment variable, had hoped to have my 9.2 listener listening on 1521, and my xe listener listening on 1522, with both using the same tnsnames.ora (the one in xe directory structure). However; the tns_admin environment variable must also control the location of the listener.ora too? Because, my 9.2 listener seemed to use the xe listener.ora file, and it started listening on 1522 instead of 1521.
I need 9.2 listener and xe listener to be separate, because sometimes I start up my 9.2 database without the xe, and vice versa.
As a convenience, I'd like my xe (sqlplus, sql dev) to see my 9.2 databases also. How do I do this, and still be able to run either the 9.2 or the xe independently of the other?

• TIME_OUT when accessing Oracle table from SAP using native SQL

Hi,
I have a problem in one of my native SQL statement. It takes a long time accessing the table considering that the number of records to be retrieved is only small.
Something happened on the Oracle system. But, stilll to be confirmed. Looking further at the issue, it seems that when the value in the where clause equated is a literal (meaning the value is not declared in DATA or CONSTANTS in the ABAP Program)
Example
1.
EXEC.
WHERE FIELD = '1'
ENDEXEC.
instead of
2.
CONSTANTS: c_1 value '1'.
EXEC.
WHERE FIELD = c_1
ENDEXEC.
i found that when the way of coding is same as Example 1, a time-out error occurs. But when in Example 2, no issue.
Can someone explain this?
Thanks!

Repetitively asking the same question again and again is against the forum rules.
Please post an explain of the SQL statement on the remote machine.
