Hi Runak,
Thanks for the link.
Can i change the properties file out of the project, what i mean is every time I add/delete a key-value pair in properties file do i have to compile and deploy the whole project again???
Is there any way I can change the proerties file without having to compile and deploy the project every time properties file is modified??
Cheers

  • Accessing Other Admin Acct Files

    My primary account's finder is broken. It keeps crashing and rebooting in an endless loop.
    How do i salvage the files from that account into my new admin account, in the case of having to lose that one? Since I can't access it's Finder, there's no way for me to put them in a shared location, or change folder privacies on the account I need to access. I can't even see the files at all.
    Is there an admin over ride on account access permissions?
    Thanks.

    Follow the steps outlined in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1061.html. This allows you to delete the user, then open the disk image (by double-clicking on it) in the Deleted Users folder and drag the files to wherever you want to put them.

  • How do you access other users' apps, files, etc.

    I tried to, but it says it's locked. Basically, since my other family uses different keyboard layouts (U.S. instead of Dvorak for instance) I wanted them to please switch to their user. Also I didn't want them to have access to my Gmail (I could sense that they were peaking at it). So I would like to move some of the apps from mine to there with all its passwords saved and then remove the passwords to my personal accounts. We have different YouTube accounts as well so it's a challenge to log out and log in.

    I don't have Chrome, but most browsers will import bookmarks from Safari etc.  Look for an Import function (probably under the File menu.
    If you are looking to add bookmarks from another user account, you need to open the browser from that account and export or backup the bookmarks there.  You can then put that file into the users Shared folder where you will be able to access it from other user accounts.
    Hope that was clear.

  • How do I access other Team Members files on the creative cloud?

    I have 4 other team memebers and we need to be able to share files and projects, but I am not seeing a way to do it. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    Hi WRHS1,
    As of right now a shared space amongst the team members is not available . As and when this functionality is introduced we would let you know and then you can take advantag of this . If you wish to see the data for rest of your team members they will have to share it through a link with you .

    How do we tell Workshop 7.0 where to look for Java properties files (loaded by

    Ray,
    The build number indicates that you have not upgraded to Service Pack 2 of
    version 7.0. I will strongly recommend you to do so. That will shield you
    from the issues which were fixed in the 2 service packs.

    We shut down the WebLogic Server on Solaris 2.6, log off, log back on,startWebLogic

    Thanks for your response!
    By moving the property files to WEB-INF/classes from WEB-INF, we arealmost there.
    But we have a follow up problem. We use a static initializer to loadthe
    log4j
    property file like this:
    static {
    try {
    ClassLoader cl= (new Log()).getClass().getClassLoader();
    InputStream is = cl.getResourceAsStream(logfile);
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.load(is);
    PropertyConfigurator.configure(props);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    When we run jwsCompile, we keep getting this:

    Since a Workshop webservice's project is nothing but a webapp, the
    properties files can be kept in the WEB-INF/classes directory, which
    is part
    of the webapp classpath.
    You can also use
    Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("MyProp

  • Log4J - reading properties file from /WEB-INF directory issue..

    I'm just learning to implement Log4J; the approach I am taking for my JSF application running under Tomcat 5.5x is to create an initialization servlet to initialize the logger, and then access the logger instance within my backing beans and application module services. I include log4j.jar file in /WEB-INF/lib and log4j.properties in /WEB-INF.
    First I wanted to see if this was a good approach, and secondly I'm having trouble accessing the log4j.properties file from the /WEB-INF directory (see below) - any suggestions on how to set up the path so that the properties file can be found (I receive a java.io.filenotfoundexception)?
    Where I'm looking for direction is how to define a single instance of the logger and then access that instance from my java classes versus re-creating the logger in each class.
    ----- web.xml --------
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>LogServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>com.sidehire.view.util.LogServlet</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>setup</param-name>
    <param-value>/WEB-INF/log4j.properties</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    ------ LogServlet class ------
    public void init()
    throws ServletException {
    String config = getInitParameter("setup");
    PropertyConfigurator.configure(config);
    Thanks

    Try to put the log4j.properties in your WEB-INF/classes/ directory.
    You could wrap one log4j instance in a static method in a utility class, but then you would probably lose other information depending on your logger configuration.
    If you create an instance in each class, which after all is just one line like this:
    static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(ChangePasswrdAction.class.getName());
    then you are able to get time and method information.

  • Read a properties file

    hi all,
    i do have a java class, it's a WebService in fact, coded in java. I must add something, and as i learned by myself java there some things i don't know.
    my class must access to a properties file to store data like server, dbs path etc... this file will also be changeable by an administrator on the machine
    i'have seen that with java.util.Properties there is a method to save the properties into an outputstream (consequently into a file i guess), but i have never dealed with output and files, so i'm a bit lost, could someone give me some clues, or a link to some code ?
    regards

    Here is some code. These methods just override methods in java.util.Properties with a new instance of a Properties-like class called MyProperties. To make an instance of this class, just pass in the file name into the constructor. THIS CODE WON'T WORK BY ITSELF AND YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE MODIFICATIONS! It's just some old code i pulled down from an old app i wrote. A better way to do this would be just extending from java.util.Properties, but i don't have time to fix it.
    public MyProperties (String name) throws FileNotFoundException,IOException {
              this.name = name;
    //creates input stream of the file you passed in
              inFile = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(name));
    //instance of java.util.properties
              prop = new Properties();
              prop.load(inFile);
         //containsKey wrapper
         public boolean containsKey(String key) {                                   //'key' is the key you search for in the 'name' file
              return prop.containsKey(key);
         //saves the passed value to the specified key (writes to the file). Define 'header' to add a header message at the beginning of the file.
         public void store(String header) throws IOException {
    //your output file...in this case, it's also the input file
    BufferedOutputStream outFile = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(name));
              prop.store(outFile,header);
              return;
         // setProperty
         public void setProperty(String key, String attribute) {                    //sets the key 'key' to the value 'attribute'
    //before writing to the file, YOU should check whether the user has admin privileges!
    prop.setProperty(key, attribute);
         // getProperty
         public String getProperty(String key) {                                        //gets the value of the key 'key'
         String theAttribute = prop.getProperty(key);
         return theAttribute;

  • PLEASE HELP. How do you access properties files in WEB-INF  and classes directory

    We have a war file that needs to access properties files that are in the WEB-INF directory
    of the war file. We also need to load one of the properties files from the classpath.
    However, when we deploy the application ( an ear which inlcludes an ejbjar and a
    war and the libraries both the ejbjar (with a manifest setting the classpath ) and
    war need ) the properties don't get extracted.
    In some of our servlets we are trying to access those files with the path "WEB-INF/foo.properties"

    have been extracted into their appropriate places ( not even those we throw into
    the WEB-INF/classes directory ).
    PLEASE HELP,

    The file doesn't have to be extracted from the war. For example, you can place
    test.properties into your app WEB-INF and write a simple JSP to see how it
    works:
    <%
    InputStream in = application.getResourceAsStream("/WEB-INF/test.properties");
    %>
    It will return you a zip inputstream if you deployed your application as a .war.
    Christian Hargraves <[email protected]> wrote:
    I try this, but I get a NullPointerException. The file never actually gets extracted

    extracted directories for WebLogic deploys. only:
    WEB-INF/some_tmp_dir/WEB-INF/lib
    and then some dynamically generated jor file with all of the classes that would normally
    go in WEB-INF/classes ( all except the properties, of course, which are no where
    to be found. ).
    There has to be some kind of setting I am missing. Please don't make me seperate
    these properties files from the war/ear and then put the path to these properties
    files in the CLASSPATH, changing one step to three steps to deploy!!
    I have found a documented bug where you can't even put the properties files in a
    jar file and that bug will never be fixed for WebLogic 6.1.

  • What needs to be in my jndi.properties file to get oracle accessed by a jndi client

    I am trying to write a connection pool class that use jndi
    to locate the data base. I use "bindds" bind my OracleDataSource
    object with the name of 'test/jdbc/test'. I should then be able to do a lookup like: OracleDataSource ods =
    (OracleDataSource) ctx.lookup (test/jdbc/test)
    All Oracle code examples use (Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory");
    Is this correct? And what other things should be in my jndi.properties file to access the naming service with comes with
    Oracle (Jserver)? For example to I need to include a Context.PROVIDER_URL value. I would think Oracle would have some
    standard way of accessing its own Naming service. Thanks David

    This implies that ODP.NET does NOT need to be installed on a client. However, I cannot find OraOPs9.dll on a machine with Client Release 9.2 installed. Should OraOps?.dll automatically come with a Client installation of 9.2 or higher?
    ODP.NET needs to be installed on the client. OraOps9.dll is part of ODP.NET, not the Oracle Client.
    Also, if an application is built with the 10g ODP.NET, can it be run from a machine with OraOps9.dll?
    If an application is built with 10g ODP.NET, it can be run with 9.2 ODP.NET as long as you do not use any 10g APIs. The new features in 10g ODP.NET are included in the doc and the ODP.NET FAQ for your reference.
