Accessing program resources from classpath

Question

Hi, I'm having trouble with a program I've downloaded, where they attempt to load a picture into a java.net.URL object.
URL imgURL = ClassLoader.getSystemResource(imageFileName);
        if (imgURL == null) {
            String msg = "Could not locate " + imageFileName + ". Make sure that JSystemTrader directory is in the classpath.";
            throw new JSystemTraderException(msg);
        return imgURL;I'm not sure whether using the ClassLoader to do this is a good or bad idea (it seems weird to make users update their classpath just to run the program)?
Anyway, I'm running vista, and edited my classpath environment variable to store the location of the folder to look in, but keep getting null returned as the imgURL. I have no idea where the ClassLoader is looking, and why it can't find my folder.
The resource it's looking for is: resources\image.jpg
This is in: C:\JSystemTrader\resource\image.jpg
My classpath variable is: C:\JSystemTrader\
Can anyone see what might be going on here?

What folder did you have to add to the classpath in Eclipse?
Also, you can right click on your project root (or really any folder in your project) and choose Build Path -> Configure Buildpath -- Once there you can add that folder to the "Source" tab as a source folder, or in the Libraries as a "Class Folder". That way you do not have to add it to the Run dialog if you are operating with more than one main class.
