Accessing Solaris 7 running CDE through NAT...
I have Solaris 7 running on 192.168.0.103 of my internal network. I have a cable modem and box running on it. I've forwarded UDP port 177 for XDMCP and TCP port 6000 to the Solaris machine. I get the machine info from my Exceed v6.0 chooser but after that, nothing happens. Anyone have any input on any other ports to map. I haven't tried sunrpc TCP port 111 yet though.

what i did was....
i created a directory /pub/bin
in that directory i have a executable shell script named netscape
in netscape

change the permission, 777 on file "netscape".
if you want, u can modify the permission or apply acl if you want - but that's really redundant.
basically, in your .profile file add :

export PATH
or else.

When this happens, please press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and see how much RAM and CPU Firefox is using. If they're sky high, then... Well, that kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
#run Firefox in safe-mode to disable all extensions and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
#update all extensions and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#disable all extensions and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
#do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
#disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. I'm looking at traffic leaving my router with a sniffer. I see SIP traffic but I do not see RTP traffic. The phones ring on both sides but I do not get any audio.

service h225" commands. As per the documentation, they are enabled by
default. In the latest IOS there is a new feature added to Cisco IOS that
ensures that even RTP packets get translated to one of the allowed ports as

I want to change Router2's Operating Mode from "Gateway" to "Router" because I
want to turn off NAT on Router2 so that I can access all computers attached to
Router2 by their individual IP instead of using port forwarding at Router2.
The problem is after the mode change from "Gateway" to "Router", and regardless
whether I disable RIP or enable RIP, and on what interfaces it is enabled, computer
192.168.2.160 does not have internet connection.
Observations:
[0] INTRAnet works as I can reach computer 192.168.2.160 from computer behind Router1
192.168.1.x and vice versa.
[1] ping and traceroute *work* on Router2 itself using the built-in dianostic tool.
[2] nslookup on computer 192.168.2.160 always works on new lookup. It uses
192.168.2.1 as the resolver.

This is not expected because NAT to internet should still be done by Router1, no? Computer
behind Router1 with IP 192.168.1.x has internet connection.
[5] It looks like I cannot change the Routing Table Entry on Router2. I do not think I need to change anything,
just an observation.
[6] If I use LAN to LAN connection, then both intranet and internet works. [The internet IP of Router2 can be
anything not in the same subnet of the Router1, and DHCP on the local side should be disabled to avoid conflict
with the the DHCP on Router1].I have a question. Unfortunately in order to ask my question, I have to have a lengthy description of my setup. Basically, I have a second Linksys router in "router" operating mode with NAT disabled connected to the Verizon router, and I have a computer which is in a different subnet (192.168.2.x) behind the Linksys router. This computer can communicate with computers behind Verizon router in subnet (192.168.1.x), but cannot reach internet. This is a simplified version of my question, full details are in the original post.
If I setup the Linksys router in "gateway" operating mode, which means with NAT enabled, then both intranet and internet works, but there is no easy way to setup port forwarding for 10 compueters in 192.168.2.x network to communicate with 10 computers in 192.168.1.x network.
If I setup the Linksys router in a LAN to LAN configuration with Verizon routers, but this way all computers are in the same subnet, I want them to be in different subnet for access control and things like that.
I hope this makes things a little clear.

How much RAM do I need to run windows through paralells sucessfully/smoothly?
I have a MacBook with 2 gb of memory and need to run a program for school that is only available through windows. The program requires 128 mb ram to run. What would be the system requirements necessary to run windows through paralells and then this program on top of it. Do I have what it takes? or is my MacBook able to be upgraded to meet those requirements?
You didn't mention which version of Windows the program requires, or which MacBook Pro model you have.
I have successfully run Windows Microsoft Office 2010 and other older Windows applications under both XP and WIndows 7 with Parallels 5 in 2Gb of total RAM on my mid 2007 MacBook 2,1 with integrated GMA 950 video on both Mac OS X 10.5.8 'Leopard' (though Win 7 is not 'officially supported') and 10.6.6 'Snow Leopard'
But performance is, uh, 'limited', especially for processor-intensive applications like graphics programs.
My Core2Duo 2.16Ghz processor often runs at 100% of one processor, so the fan is often running at high speed all the time Windows is running. It is still possible to run Mac applications like Mail and Safari at the same time.
Since I upgraded to 4Gb RAM (although by design, my Mac 2,1 system only recognizes 3Gb) Windows 7 runs a bit better, though still at a slower speed than the same program with Windows 7 under Boot Camp where it has access to the full 3Gb.
I do own a copy of Parallels 6, purported to provide some performance gains, but I have not yet installed it, because I doubt that my current configuration will provide enough performance gains to warrant the time and trouble to install Parallels 6 and then have to once again deal with Microsoft Support over yet another 'reinstallation' of my perfectly legitimate, legal copy of Windows 7 Home Premium.
If you don't need simultaneous access to both Windows and Mac applications, Boot Camp will likely give you adequate performance with XP in 2Gb. RAM memory upgrades are certainly available from Apple and reliable vendors such as Other World Computing (www.macsales.com) where I've purchased several of my RAM and hard drive upgrades for a MacBook and a MacBook Pro.

TACACS+ requests through NAT device
Hi everyone.
I want to Authenticate and Authorize VTY-Access to Cisco devices using TACACS+. The config is pritty "straight forwasrd", BUT:
I want to forward the TACACS+ Request through a NAT device and on to the "Internet" where the TACAS+ server is located. (ACS 3.3)
2 Questions in this situation appeares:
- Does TACACS+ protocol support request through NAT devices?
- Is it possible to connect different devices begind the NAT device, using only one Outside NAT IP address? (Using the same secret key for all aaa-clients and on the ACS)
As you see, i want to connect "as many aaa-clients as possible" to a TACACS+ Server with "as easy = less configuration changes, as possible" .
I know VPN's are options as well, but it is not prefered in my design.

Jarle SteffensenAs far as I know what you propose will work. You are the only one who knows what the local environment is and what the real requirements are and you must decide whether it is a good idea to do it this way.
I do not see why passing the TACACS request through a NAT device would impact it, so long as the NAT was static or an overload (PAT). The request needs to get to the TACACS server with a consistent source address. If it was a dynamic NAT and one request came with one source address and the next request came with a different source address, it would only work if the TACACS server was configured with ALL of the possible translated addresses. (and part of your requirement is to simplify the config not to complicate it).
If there are multiple devices sending requests to TACACS through the NAT device, it would look to the TACACS server as if there were a single remote device with lots of users. If you do not care that the TACACS server can not differentiate the remote devices then your solution should work. Do you want to be able to look at the TACACS reports and see that this successful (or that unsuccessful) attempt came from this machine or that machine? If you do not care then your solution should work. If you do care to differentiate the remote activity then you need a solution like VPN which maintains the individuality of the remote devices.

Cant get my iphone 5 to sync with my computer (new operating system). Am running XP through a virtual box. When I try to sync the phone it keeps asking for auto lock code, there is no box to type it into and I can find nothing on the phone itself to solve the problem.
This makes it impossibble to sync with my itunes account. Anyone out there able to help ?Have you tried contactint the app's developer?

I am having a problem w/ my Itunes working correctly, after accidentally running Itunes through my troubleshooter to, Run Programs Made For PreviousVersions of Windows. It keeps popping up that the Compatibility Version is on, to make sure it's off before opening my Itunes Account. I've looked everywhere, Please, Please, How Do I Make This Right??!??
It sounds like either your hard drive or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard are failing. This could be heat related in your case, which is why you see it after it runs awhile. You can take it to the Genius Bar for a free evaluation. If you decide to test it yourself, I usually suggest moving the hard drive to an external enclosure. If it works there for awhile, the cable is probably the issue.

ive designed one form in Forms 9i...I'm tryin to run report through a Push button .....report is running well in paper layout through report builder 9i...The problem I'm facing is dat when i pressed button it is giving me error initially as FRM-41214 cannot run report and after that FRM-40735 When button pressed unhandled exception ora-06502.....What could go wrong??... Ive started OC4J instance ....created report object in object nevigator as well and defined basic properties for diff.parameters HTMLCSS,CACHE..etc.,mentioned report path in complete i.e.c:\reports\genbill.rdf ...Can anybody help me out ??? I recommend wrapping the REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS function with a SUBSTR that limits the data returned to 20 bytes, which will ensure the results fit.

Can't connect to Server through NAT
Hey all.
So, I'm trying to connect to my 10.8 server from outside of my network using Server.app.
On my local subnet, I can connect fine with my normal user.
From anywhere outside of my local network, all I get is a shake from the login dialog (which is pretty meaningless).
Since I'm using NAT, I've forwarded 311/TCP and 311/UDP through to the server host.
When I telnet to my server on 311 I get a connection, so the traffic is getting through NAT (at least the TCP traffic).
The only indication of a problem I get is a terse log entry on the machine I've attempting to connect from:
Server: Failed to authenticate to OD
I'm using the same credentials I use through Server.app when on the local subnet, so something else is happening.
I do get a certificate warning, which I check off so that I always trust it. I can use the same hostname on my internal and external zones, but the IP resolves back to
Does OD require some additional configuration for requests from outside the local net?
Is Server.app just flawed?
Does this somehow have to do with DNS?

That being said I wouldn't port forward server administration traffic to your server. A better approach would be to make a VPN connection first and then do whatever task you're trying to do after that.

I get the following error: (it's not word for word but you get the idea)

Here's what's happening in the code. I'm trying to create a User class that is instantiated at the start of my app. I want the User class to have properties like mainStatus, with helper methods like setStatus etc. Pretty simple.
so on my HardDisk I have my flash_working folder with all my flash projects. I created my class file/package under the directory com.mypackage

Access Denied creating user accounts through vba

I have a MS-Access application that runs on a Windows 2012 server. My customer logs into the server using RDP. The MS-Access application is started up automatically by means of the environment variable in the user settings. The customer needs to be able
to create new windows users for this application, simply by clicking a button.
The VBA script to create users works, because when I start up the MS-Access application with my own logged on Administrators account, the new users get created. If my customer tries it, he gets 'Access Denied' error. I have added his user account to
the Power Users group, but that did not solve the problem. I also tried to make him member of the DCOM Users Group, the 'Access Denied' error remains...
I do not want to give him administrator priviliges, because he is 'just a customer'...
What do I need to do for this setup to work? I tried altering some DCom settings, but frankly I do not have enough knowledge to feel comfortable with this. Hope anybody can help me out here...
best regards, RobIs this a standalone server? Only administrators can create user accounts, so there is no work around for that. You could look at something that has the administrator account/password stored and launch PSEXEC or something else in an elevated session behind
the scenes but that is a security volunerability because the credentials are stored.
If the account is being created in an Active Directory environment you could delegate permissions to the appropriate OU for your customer.

I am having trouble running videos through Safari but not Google Chrome. All I get is a black screen. I have the latest adobe flash update and have enabled plug ins. any suggestions?

Not empty the Safari cache.

When i run report through OC4J Application i get a exception message
When i run report through OC4J Application i get a exception message saying Server returning invalid xml and the exception number is JBO -29000. The Reports Server is installed on machine having IP 10.191.99.254.

One possible workaround which I could make out is there needs change to be made in the .rdf files in Report Builder and then inside the User Parameters we change the Initial Value to * from % because the Reports Server encodes every value as %Initial_Value% and hence if the initial value for the parameter is % then it does not get a valid value and hence it returns as an invalid xml
But unfortunately it seems this workaround does not work.Please help as soon as possible.Hi,
you said that some changes were made in the .xml files but i had said that all the files present in Reports Developer or Reports Builder are .rdf files and I had made changes in the .rdf files for this articular report and then compiled it thereitself and then ran a paper layout of the report but the report did not comprise any data.
There was sufficient data also to populate the report. So this may not be a database issue. Please help if you can ASAP.
