Try using setCharacterStream (this should work in 816 I am not sure of prior Oracle/JDBC releases)

Remote Object - not able to get the returned value from java method

     Hi ,
I am developing one sample flex aplication that connects to the java code and displays the returned value from the
java method in flex client. Here I am able to invoke the java method but not able to collect the returned value.
lastResult is giving null . I am able to see the sysout messages in server console.
I am using flex 3.2 and blazeds server and java 1.5

You are not able to get the returned value because if you see the Remote object help you will realise you have to use result="resultfn()" and fault = "faultfn()"
In this you define what you wish to do.
More importantly in the remote object you need to define which method you wish to call using the method class like this

<mx:RemoteObject>
r2 is the function where you get the result back from java and can use it to send the alert.

How can I access the Attribute Values from the Search Region

Hi all,
I have a table which contains Company id, department id, and PositonId. For a particular Company and Department there may be multiple records.
I have to pupulate a table which contains the position and other details that comes under a particular Department and Position based on the selection in the Three comboBoxes.
Also I have to populate a select many Shuttle to add new postions and records under a particular Department.
I created a query panel *(Search Region)* for the serch and a table to display the data. That is working fine.
Now the issue is I am using a view criteria to populate the shuttle with two bind variables ie, DepartmentId and CompanyId.
If the serach will return a resuktant set in the table it will also pupulate the correct records, otherwise ie, if the if the serch result is empty the corresponding iterator and the attribute is setting as null.
SO I want to access the attribute values from the Search Region itsef to populate the shuttle.
I don't know how can I access the data from the Search Region.

Accessing the binding variables

i have the following attribute entry in the page definition file.

I am getting Null Pointer exception at the 2nd line if I access the binding variable in the managed bean.
1. AttributeBinding policyNumBinding = (AttributeBinding)(getBindings().getCtrlBinding("PolicyNum"));
2. Number policyNum = (Number)policyNumBinding.getInputValue();
3. System.out.println("PolicyNum from bindings" + policyNum);
But the following code is getting the actual value of the binding attribute. But in the import stements I am getting a message JUCtrlAttrsBinding is an internal API and cannot be used.
JUCtrlAttrsBinding policyNumBinding2 = (JUCtrlAttrsBinding)getBindings().get("PolicyNum");
Number policyNum2 = (Number)policyNumBinding2.getInputValue();

Does anybody know how to access the presentation layer using a tool other than the OBIEE front end? What if I wanted to query the presentation layer from Excel or SQL Developer. Does anyone know how to do that?

You need to use the ODBC connection. OBI Presentation Dashboard use it and Excel also.

Don't send a ResultSet back as the result of an RMI call. Extract the data from the ResultSet on the server and send that back instead.

I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

You might need to sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf" using your Adobe ID credentials to convert your PDF file to Word.
Do you get the 'download' prompt?
Also, you can find the converted files by clicking at the 'Files' tab.
Please try the same using a different browser and check.
