ACE - TCP probe goes into INVALID state

Hello,
I have a problem with the following configuration of a sticky serverfarm with a backup serverfarm
(this setup is ofcourse used only for failover purposes, not loadbalancing):
probe tcp tcp-8888-probe
  port 8888
  interval 5
  faildetect 2
  passdetect interval 3
  passdetect count 1
rserver host rsrv1
  ip address 10.1.2.10
  inservice
rserver host rsrv2
  ip address 10.1.2.11
  inservice
serverfarm host rfarm-primary
  predictor leastconns
  probe tcp-8888-probe
  rserver rsrv1 8888
    inservice
serverfarm host rfarm-backup
  predictor leastconns
  probe tcp-8888-probe
  rserver rsrv2 8888
   inservice
sticky http-cookie RFARM-COOKIE sticky-rfarm-1
  cookie insert browser-expire
  serverfarm rfarm-primary backup rfarm-backup
etc....
The problem is that every time probe state changes (from SUCCESS to FAIL or otherwise), the tcp-8888-probe on the server that changed
the state of service, goes into INVALID state:
#show probe tcp-8888-probe detail

I have managed to get the probe into FAIL state again for a moment by removing it from serverfarm, and then reapplying, but in a few seconds it goes again from FAIL to INVAILD state, and stays in this state regardless of avaliability of probed TCP port. Only when i'm reapplying it when the port is avaliable/up, it can stay in SUCCESS state, and work till the failure of service, when INVALID state reappears.
What can be the cause of such behavior ?
thanks,
WM

Hello,
It looks very similar to this bug: CSCsh74871
You may need to collect a #show tech-support and do the following:
-remove the serverfarm in question
-reboot the ace module under a maintenance window.
You may upgrade to a higher version since your version is kind of old.

  • Foundation services going into Admin state

    Hello All,
    Our setup is as follows:
    Version: 11.1.2.3.500
Linux Server1: Foundation, OHS, EAS, APS
    Linux Server2: Essbase
Linux Server3: Planning, EPMA, Calc Mgr.
Windows Server: EPMA Dimension server, FDMEE.
In our existing set up we have introduced FDMEE on Windows server, running on its own domain. After installing and configuring FDMEE, we configured Web Server on the Foundation server. Stopped all the services and now when bringing up the services, Foundation services is not starting and it is going into ADMIN State.
The errors in the FoundationServices0.log are as below:
<BEA-101371> <There was a failure when processing annotations for application workspace.war. Please make sure that the annotations are valid.
What i found quite wierd was that, when i ran the configTool for configuring Foundation found that the "Deploy to Application Server" option has disappeared.
Any ideas, how this can be fixed. Thanks in Advance,
    SSP.

  • Z10 goes into hang state giving black display

    Hi,
My Z10 goes into hang state very frequently. Any high graphic action and soon within a day's time system would crash and hang until reboot action is performed.
I am extremely dissapointed with the quality of z10 and from the forum it seems it is no different for z30 and other devices.
This is the second time I have started having trouble with the device and none of service centers can solve this issue. Infact they hardly understand the issue. All they do is reload software and return the device.
What is the maximum duration that a Z10 works without a reboot, be cause I see my device requiring a reboot every 3rd day. IS there a solution around?
    Thanks

Another interesting observation: Post the device's reboot, PIM services takes up almost 30-60% of CPU time continuously. It starts draining up the battery.

  • SharePoint 2013 Workflow goes into cancelled state

I want to test a workflow that copys current list item to a new libary. But as soon as
it starts it goes into cancelled state like this:
    what could be the problem?

    Hi Marcsimm,
    Try this
The error text that pasted indicates that you're getting access denied on workflow calling back to SharePoint.
Workflow uses signed security tokens to authenticate. The SharePoint Web Application must be claims enabled and not use Forms Based Authentication (which is a requirement of SharePoint OAuth).
Because the response header only includes WWW-Authenticate: NTLM it would seem that SharePoint is not configured for server-to-server authentication (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219546.aspx)
    Thanks

  • Queue goes into 'READY' state

    Hi All,
I'm using the 'TRFC_SET_QIN_PROPERTIES' function module with the qin_name parameter.
The problem I'm facing is that, most of the times, my function module entry goes into the queue - but the queue is in 'READY' state. I have to manually go to SMQ2 and make a change to put the queue into 'RUNNING' state.
Is there a way to automatically set the queue to 'RUNNNING' state when i insert an entry into the queue? Or, is there a seperate API that can do this task for me?
    Regards,
    Ram

Hello Jeff, the agents on an active call will not count for the Not Ready state. When receiving the call (ringing) they will be placed in Reserved state; while the call is connected they will be in Talking state and after the call ends they could be placed in Work state for a while.

  • Fresh 10.4.10 Server install keeps going into unbootable state overnight.

We have a Power Mac G5 with two 2GHz processors running OS X Server Tiger (well, or actually, it's not "running" at the moment). We'd been having some intermmttent problems, so I finally just decided to rebuild everything from scratch. Anyhow, what seems to be happening is that I'll do a fresh OS X Server install from disk (10.4), install all the updates. In the last attempt, I set up Open Directory as part of the install with Windows support, it defaulted to turning on Windows File Sharing, but I did not turn on any other services. After installing all the updates, I copied data over from a backup of the old drive using "ditto -X". I only copied data from "/Groups", "/Home" and "/Users" being careful not to copy over the new admin account. I have added no users past the required admin created in the setup, changed no other settings, started no other services, etc. I leave it overnight copying data, and finish up copying in the morning. It seems to be running great. I reboot, and it goes to a plain grey-white screen, and freezes there ... eventually I get the obligatory fans blowing like jets. If I run Disk Utility and repair and fix permissions, no errors come back on the disk, and it'll fix a few seemingly inconsequential permissions. After that, it'll boot to the Apple logo (which oddly seems to drop down a few pixels after first appearing), and then nothing till the fans kick in and that's it.
I've reset the NVRAM and PRAM. It will not boot into single user mode, do a verbose boot, etc. There are no error messages to even start to guess. The only new thing I learned this morning is that if I boot with the option key down and select the hard drive it'll give me the grey-white screen with an icon with a circle and a line through it. The drive does exactly the same thing (won't boot) if I put it in any other PowerMac G5. The filesystem on the drive appears to be perfectly intact. The system has just passed the extended Apple Hardware Test.
The only other thing to add is that it has been doing this same behavior repeatedly over the past week. Each time, I've been doing less and less, restoring less data, and every time, the same result. I'm only finally posting because, well I figure if I can't even just copy over user-level data to a fresh OS install, something is really messed up.
The only guess I have is that it seems like this is happening overnight, and maybe something in the nightly cleanup services that get run is making the system unbootable? I looked in the system log files and nothing this serious seemed to be there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty much out of ideas/options. Seems like there ought to at least be a way to figure out where in the early boot process it's failing.

I keep assuming they are going to want to charge for this (we're about 3-4 months out of the 3-year Apple maintenance plan). Honestly, I've about reached the point where I don't see how this can't be a significant, albeit obscure, flaw in OS X Server, and I don't think one should pay Apple to fix what appears to be their problem. If nothing else there is a complete lack of debugging info, partly understandable for being that early in the boot process (though sticking the Apple logo on the screen is apparently important enough); then again, that early in the boot process, the code should be refined enough that these kinds of problems shouldn't occur.
I had tried your suggestion of blessing the CoreServices folder (I may have actually done it before posting the first time). At one point I also cleared out the kernel cache, but none of it seems to make any difference. Does the Apple logo get drawn in BootX? I've had a hard time finding a detailed description of the boot process (some pages seem to contradict each other), and there doesn't seem to be any easy way of debugging it. It seems like I could get it into various states of drawing the white screen, usually it gives me the Apple logo, but some times it'll just go plain white, and once I got it to give me the circle with the line through it.
For example, this page says the Apple logo and spinning cursor all happen at thee same time:
    http://www.kernelthread.com/mac/osx/arch_boot.html
You suggest the spinning cursor happens a bit later. Apple doesn't even seem to have a page on this.
Then again, I could spend a bunch of time debugging BootX, device driver and kernel loading ... and then I'm still left with the, what does copying non-system files over to the disk have anything to do with it?

  • IDM server goes into recovered state

    Hi everybody,
When I install a second IDM server (on another machine) that shares the same Oracle repository as the first one, I notice that the first server goes from the "active" state to the "recovered" state. This is seen under the Configuration->Servers tab.
    Any ideas why this happens?
    Thanks!

When you  are looking into? Can you provide more info? What does the process do?

  • ACE TCP probe

My costomers ask different tcp port probes for different applications. Is there such things - standard probe TCL? So every time, I just need to work on the stand TCL and apply it to the serverfarm. That way can avoid a long probe config for different ports.
    Thank you in advance,
    June Hu

Could the soultion be that the probe is configured to terminate a TCP connection by sending a RST, with the connection term command?
It seems that this makes the probe pass the health check.

  • Digital Signature Validation process goes into unending state

    Hi all
I am working Adobe Digital Signatures in Web Dynpro Java applications. I have been using [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/media/streamingmedia/developer-areas/user-interface-technology/interactive-forms/securing%20online%20interactive%20forms%20by%20adobe%20(Session%208)/index.html?slide=] webinar to follow steps to configure SSL and validation of Digital Signatures.
After doing all necessary configurations, I am able to run my web dynpro applications containing interactive forms in secure mode.
But when I sign with digital signature and try to validate the form, the application keeps on processing and shows no result.
I tried debugging my application but control does not reach my button action code. I am clueless.
I would be thankful to receive any hints or pointers from you.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Role when transported goes into Ungenerated state in Quality.

    All,
    I have a SCM system - 5.1
When I build a role, generate it on Development box it gets generated, but when transported to Quality it is in ungenerated state.
Associated Analysis authorization is also trasnported correct.
I have checked all the logs,  there are no errors.
Org. Values match on both the systems.
One observation  is when the system was upgraded, they did not complete the SU25 steps, is this the one that is causing the issue or not.
    Your advice will be helpful.
    Vidyar.

I have a big task as the upgrade was done 2 years back and I started with the project now
    How they survived this long?
This problem is hapening for all the roles you are transporting? Or for few random roles?

  • SOP report goes into word repaginating

    hi
I am facing a word repaginating porblem while opening my SOP report.
I have assigned a DMS doc with doc type SBV   to the specification work (it is a word .docx  file) .  I created the report SOP  from the specification work bench and it is in realsed state also. But when I tried to view the released report either from  CG54 or report management , the word document that is opening goes into the state of word repaginating . It remains in the same status till i cancel the action. But during this process the system outputs the report template perfectly to the extent of report body but the part where i have assigned the DMS doc show some wierd symbols.
If I try to view the report from 'report from template' functionality in CG02  or from cg42 I get the output of dms document as well along with the report template.
    Regards,
    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,
Here you would not only have to take care of the document type settings of SBV, but also of SBR and SBE.
Document type SBR (not SBV) is used for generating reports for specifications using released report templates and contain expanded specification data. While, SBV is for only defining the report template in which you use symbols of various symbol types to define the layout of your reports. The link between report templates and report generation variants enables you to generate reports (SBR) and final reports (SBE).
Hence, the problem may be of incorrect settings in document types SBR and SBV. Check the document status and workstation application settings of these doc types based on SAP note # 0000995736.
    Hope, above solves your problem.

  • BPEL Composite going in running state

I have a mediator that reads from AQ and routes it to the BPEL processes based on condition. When there are 15 or 20 instance read from AQ, some of the BPEL processes go into a running state. Once the process goes into a running state, the any instances created for that bpel process goes into running state. There are no errors in the soa-diagnostics log or soa log. We are running WLS server in a single node environment, database installed in a single solaris container and the wls installed in another container. There are no faults generated too. If I redeploy the process, the BPEL process starts working and goes to the same state after some time ( inconsistent). Even if I restart the soa server, the process starts working but goes to running status when load is applied.
Any help to diagnose the issue will be greatly appreciated.

Just to be sure, you say the problem happened only if you have 10-15 instances?
Yes.. Even if it less that 5 but if there are concurrent calls, the problem persistIn each process you have 1 call for each service (EBS,WS,BpelProcess)?
One BPEL process calls an EBS package( Dbaadapter), Web services each of them are BPEL process
1st invoke web service call ( which is BPEL process) 2nd invoke is a dbadapter 3rd invoke is service call ( BPEL process)Did you change any of the default parameters on the SOA server, or DB connection?
    >>
You might consider a problem with the EBS - maybe you are calling an API and there is a db lock...?
All the queries are only selects. No updates and these apis are tuned.Enter the current running instance - see if the last service is the same for all running instances.

  • What state gets saved when a JPD goes to frozen state?

    Hi,
I need to know what state of JPD gets saved when it goes into frozen state after some error. Is it just the non-transient member variables that get persisted? Or is there any information about the point at which the failure occurs in the JPD's execution flow?
For example, lets say that I have a stateful JPD which does the following:
    1) Initialize a BufferedFileReader from the input file path
    2) Read the file line-by-line:
    for (; (this.currentLine = this.reader.readLine()) != null; )
    ++this.currentLineIndex;
    doWork();
If there's a failure while processing, say line# N, then will I be able to get this 'currentLineIndex' value when I unfreeze the JPD and utilize it to seek the file till that line and start from there? From where will the JPD start execution when I unfreeze it? With what state of member variables and from what method/node/line will it start?
I don't know how it works internally, any information regarding what state/execution-context gets persisted when a JPD freezes will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Balwinder

A failure causes the transaction that was processing to rollback, so all state changes are lost since the previous commit point. What get's frozen is the request message that started processing of the current transaction.
When the process is unfrozen, the original request message is dispatched causing a new transaction to start and the request is processed again.

  • Why Package Specification only in INVALID State

    Hi All,
Why Package spec is going to invalid state when I change a Procedure which is called in Package body
and why package body is still in VALID state. Can some one please clarify my doubt.

May be only specification got errors and not the package.
May be the constants / variables declared in package specification has wrong reference
like var1 tab1.col1%type which column doesnexists....
    OR
    V number(1) :=10;
    or
improper closing / ending of a procedure..
