Acrobat update causes key removal.

Recently updates to Acrobat and Acrobat DC are causing issues with TLP licenses. Spiceworks sees it as a new install and removes the key from the DB which in turn causes it to flag as unlicensed.  Is there a fix for this?  One of my primary uses for Spiceworks is keeping track of licensing, now I'm maintaining a spreadsheet of my machines as backup for adobe's eventual and multiple updates.  Help?

  • 8.2.4 Acrobat update cause print failure

Once 8.2.4 update installed on Vista Enterprise PDF printing no longer works.   All applications error out.  Ran the Adobe fix command and rebooted.  Printing still fails.
Is there an easy way to roll back to the previous version?
Are there any plans by Adobe to quickly release another patch?
Any other ideas on how to correct?

On my Vista system even the Office2007 plug-in fails with similar print driver failures.   I have even tried running Microsoft Word 2007 as administrator without success.

  • Acrobat Pro 9.5.4 Update causes PDF to print more like a web page

Something changed from 9.5.3 to 9.5.4 such that PDFs opened within a browser (FireFox) now print more like a web page.  This has caused several issues.
    1. Printing now uses the header/footer printing preferences of the browser.  All PDF's I print from within the browser print with the URL in the upper right, time/date in the lower right and all the other header/footer preferences in the browser.  This was never the case before.
    2. Font sizes and text location are different.  We print checks, invoices from PDF's generated within our business system.  These are now misaligned compared to what they have been because of this change.
It's possible this is related to a browser update but I haven't pinned this down yet.  I'm using Firefox 19.0, Windows 7, 32 bit.
    Any insights are appreciated.

    Hi,
This is not happening because of Acrobat update but the reason for this change is that Firefox 19.0 has introduced  its own Javascript PDF viewer.
You can change the settings in browser to use Acrobat plugin for viewing PDF files. Go to Options->Application to chnage the settings, please see attached screenshot for more details.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Thanks.

  • Acrobat 10 Pro: Unable to Install Updates After Virus Removed: Receive Error 1310 ?

Acrobat 10 Pro: Unable to Install Updates After Virus Removed: Receive Error 1310 ?
Attempted to re-install the original Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro from the disk provided with the purchase; and it has put me in a trial; and is requesting that I purchase the software I already paid for, two years ago.

You can try a repair (may need to go to Control Panel>Programs & Features). A reinstall is a last resort, but if you go there be sure to uninstall from the control panel, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, and remove any part left of the Acrobat folder. Then reboot as the administrator and reinstall. Be sure to disable antivirus during the install.

  • ORA-14402: updating partition key column would cause a partition change

    Hi,
When I am trying to execute an update statement where i am tring to update date values emp_det from 11-oct-2010 to 12-nov-2010.
    Oracle throws an error :
    ORA-14402
updating partition key column would cause a partition change
I think that this is because emp_det is a partitioning key of a partitioned table.
    Oracle documentation says that
"UPDATE will fail if you change a value in the column that would move the
row to a different partition or subpartition, unless you enable row
    movement" .
    alter table t enable row movement;
I did not understand what is meant by "enable row movement".
I cannot drop the partitions and recreate it after updating the table and also i don't have proper priviliges for enale row movement syntax
because of the lack of privileges. How to solve this is issues with out row movement and recreate partition.
Can this be done by a developer or is there any other way to execute update in this case? its urgent.. pls help..
    thanks in advance..

Assume you have a row that belongs to partition A stored in segment A and you change row's partitioning column to value that belongs to partition B - you have an issue since updated row can't be now stored in segment A anymore. By default such update is not allowed and you get an error. You can enable row movement and Oracle will move row to target partition:

  • Problems re-installing after on-line updates cause version change from install CD

I'm running AcroPro 6 updated to 7.1 through on-line updates, on laptop and was on desktop. The laptop runs just fine with no issues, and Acrobat 6 does everything that I need done, so I don't have any desire to upgrade to the latest and greatest. Problems with Acrobat on the desktop caused me to uninstall it, and I couldn't reinstall it.
Now, using the laptop in conjunction with the desktop isn't the most convenient because I'm creating documents on the desktop, and then have to port them to the laptop, do whatever is needed there in Acrobat, and then port back. Usually all that I need to do is to assemble a pdf from separate pages, insert or remove pages from a pdf, or to apply security. Nothing particulary fancy.
Acrobat on the desktop worked fine for many years, but at some point reported an issue finding the printer, and refused to print anything. After trying everything I could think of as a possible solution I, perhaps foolishly, uninstalled Acrobat with the intention of reinstalling it and having the problem resolved. On attempting to reinstall, starting from the original Acrobat 6 CD, the installer reported that a later version of the software was installed, and exited. It would seem that simply uninstalling Acrobat leaves sufficient references in registry or other places for the last update applied to be determined during installation.
There seem to be two possible options so that I can avoid the, to me, unneccesary expense of upgrading to the latest version of Acrobat.
Locate and remove the source of the data that the Acrbat 6 installer is reading and which causes the installer to exit, or
Slipstream the updates (to 7.1) into the Acrobat 6 installation files, so that the version I would be attempting to install is the same as the verion that I uninstalled.
I tried scanning registry to find all references to Acrobat and or Acrobat 6, but I'm not certain this is the best way. Missing one might be critical, and removing them might just cause worse problems.
I tried slipstreaming the Acrobat 6 installer, but it fails using the msiexec /a switch, as it appears that Acrobat 6 wasn't designed to work with an administrative install point, according to the pop-up dialogue box.
My problem is that while I just want to reinstall Acrobat 6, update to 7.1, and go on happily, I can't see how to do this. Can anyone advise if there is a solution other than upgrading?
Thanks in advance for you thoughts, all will be appreciated!

Thanks John, Bill and Graffiti for your interest!
The original install, many years ago, was of an education version from a local college. As updates became available thorough the update manager, they were installed. As stated above, it updated though 6.0 to 6.6, and then on to 7, eventually to 7.1! I can only repeat what happened, but not explain it. I thought nothing of it at the time, as it was all being managed by the update manager. I agree that this last seems to be more an upgrade than an update, but... what can I say? What happened is what happened, and it happened as I described it.
But not's get hung up on the history! Now that I seem to have solved the original issue of not getting past the message that 'a more functional version has been detected', how does one solve the 'invalid serial number' issue that occurs when attempting to reinstall 6.0? Delete the Acrobat registry keys from HKLM and HKCU, and possibly anywhere else? The former didn't work yet, so, where else? Maybe there is an 'update' folder hanging around somewhere with a registry reference that needs to be deactivated?  Something like {AC76BA86-0000-0000-7AC5-6028747ADE00}?
Any further thoughts? And thanks for the input, it really is appreciated!

  • What is the Adobe Acrobat Updater PDF Repair Setup Computer Freeze Solution?

I'm using CS4 Creative Suite 4 Design Premium.
The Adobe Acrobat Updater keeps urging me to upgrade to Acrobat 9.3.3.  When I attempt to do so, I get a Repair Setup screen saying, "Acrobat has detected that there are missing components that require repair.  Select the optional components you would like to repair and click Continue.  Deselect a component to completely remove it.  Click Cancel to cancel the component repair process."  The Adobe PDF Printer is shown with a checkbox next to it.
At this point, the check box next to the Adobe PDF Printer, the Cancel button, and the Continue button are all not operable.  The whole update process becomes frozen.  Even a Force Quit will not remove the updater from the screen.  The only way to get rid of it is with a restart.
This keeps happening over and over again and is becoming annoying.
How can this problem be resolved?
    Please advise.
    Thanks!

Look to see if something similar to:
Adobe PDF or Adobe quality PDF when you go to the print menu and click on PDF.
http://screencast.com/t/MWI0M2Q1M here is expample of what you see in OSX.4.11
5 and 6 should have a choice of adobe pdf or adobe quality PDF.
IF it does delete the AdobePDF Print driver from Printer Utility and use this.
    read this:
http://indesignsecrets.com/acrobats-adobe-pdf-printer-replaced-in-snow-leopard.php although it has to do with Snow leopard it does alos mention X.5.8. as well.
Try repairing acrobat installation  then running the installer if it gets stuck 've run out of suggestions other than remove Acrobat all together evrything you can find anywhere on the computer (except your PDF and start from scratch. upgrading from 9.0 through each of upgradeds.

  • Adobe Acrobat Update Service

    Hello,
we have a problem with the service "Adobe Acrobat Update" (AdobeARMservice). We observe that sometimes to open a PDF Document needs more time while the service is running, as the same Document needs while the servcie is disabled. for example 30 seconds while service is running to 2 seconds while its disabled.
Did you noticed the same issue, or have a solution?
Notic: It is not the Virusscan-issue (McAfee) this is fixed.
    Best regards.

It is highly unlikely that this Service can cause the delay.
Here is what we can do to rule it out-
    1. Please enable full verbose MSI logging on this system (Google for the instructions)
    2. Enable Adobe Reader Updater verbose logging -
In the registry below set iLogLevel   DWORD value to 1.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM (if you have 32bit OS)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM (if you have 64bit OS)
    3. Delete AdobeARM.log file from User %Temp% folder
    4. Open your PDF document, wait for ~40 seconds
If you confirm the delay in loading PDF, collect AdobeARM.log file and latest file called MSIxxxx.log (if exists) from User Temp folder, Zip them and e-mail to me - please do not post content here - they could be big.

  • Acrobat Updater

Hi. I have installed both Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat XI on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.4), but continue to get an Acrobat Updater pop up asking if I want to update to 8.3.1. How to I get rid of this updater? Thanks.

    Hi aliday2 ,
Thank you for posting on the Adobe forums, please make sure that you have no left overs for Acrobat 8 in the system.
Kindly remove all the folders related to Acrobat 8 and it should not prompt you to update.

  • Acrobat Updater Error 1300

    Hi,
I have Adobe Acrobat Std 9.2 installed on an Acer tablet running Windows 8 Professional. When I attempt to install the 9.5.4 update, I receive the following message: "Cannot install the update. Please run Adobe Acrobat Repair. Error: 1300"
I have already tried installing the Adobe Acrobat Updater and removing and completely reinstalling Acrobat Standard on the tablet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can not typically update in one step, but by installing each update up to where you are going to end. It is not clear how you are trying to update. The typical was is from Help>Updates in Acrobat. If there are more than one, install them in order. I am not that sure what you will see since I typically download the updates separately. However, I think that what you are offered with this approach are typically cummulative sets that skip some of the downloads I indicate below.
You can also download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (similar for MAC). In the latter case you need to install each update in order unless the download indicates otherwise (you should be able to skip 9.3.1&4 and 9.4.1&3&4&7 - easy to check by starting at the top and checking prior versions required). After each update you can generally continue and only reboot after the last one.
I suspect this multiple update issue is the problem you are having.

Try to download the updates manually from the Adobe website. I believe you need something like Acrobat 9.2.x for full Windows 7 compatibility.

  • Server Crash after Updating Licence Key

    Hi Team,
Recently I had met with a strange issue in which around 5 servers shows recovery screen after the server reboot . The only change happened was the server license key was updated . Initially it was noticed that these servers were showing activate Windows
screen and we had provided the valid license key. Later the application team had rebooted the server and it went to recovery, Another server I had rebooted and it also followed the same result .  In recovery console it was noted that active partition
was changed and in C:\ bootmgr was missing I had fixed those issues and later server boots up and showing many sys files missing in drivers folder .
Anyone aware of similar issues ? I strongly believe updating license key wont crash the server .

    Hi,
I agree with you. Updating license keys should not crash the server. Meanwhile, would you please let me know
version information of the problematic server OS?
Based on current situation, it’s hard to say what cause to the server crash (seem to be related to .sys files).
When you complete the process of Startup Repair, will be able to access the server? If can, please open Event Viewer and check if find some related events.
If can’t, please access system recovery options. Then run
sfc /scannow command to scan all protected system files and run
chkdsk command to check disk state.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,

  • Adobe Acrobat Update Manager Stalls Apple

Every time I start up the PowerBook, the Adobe Acrobat Update Manager (for Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional) stalls the start-up. An error window shows, on the Apple, indicating this. It requires, each and every time, a manual close-out of the Adobe updater. I have tried to remove updater, and yet it continues. This is NOT for the Reader but for the full-blown Adobe Acrobat program. Thank you.

Hi Jay, open Acrobat>Preferences and check for automatic updates to uncheck.
Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check System Preferences, the Other row for possibilities.

  • Adobe Acrobat Updater pop up window

Each time I access a pdf file using Acrobat 9 Pro I receive th following message.
"Adobe Acrobat Updater has not been able to check for updates recently. Check online to see if solutions are available from the Adobe website."
I must select the option to close the pop up to continue working. This issue started only recently. How do I make this stop??

Jeri, your link was helpful! Let me take a step back in saying that I have both Adobe Acrobat Pro and Reader installed on my computer.
Your link led me to the Acrobat_Reader_Updater.pdf. There was a reference to the registry and iCheckReader. I started snooping in the registry and that's when I discovered that I had different versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro (v9.5) and Reader (X) installed. Although running this combination should not IMHO be a problem I decided to remove Reader (X). I haven't had the pop up message since it was removed.
I note that you are an employee of Adobe. This might be worth posting somewhere or investigating further why the pop up appears with this product combination. Not every Adobe customer is going to upgrade to Adobe Acrobat Pro (X).
