Acrobat Xpro - give a value to a field

Hello
We bought Xpro-Mac last April and still not very familiar with it.
Creating a table where individuals will enter the quantity they want to order for each pamphlet.
Pamphlet title
English
French
total
Title
Title
Postal fee (fix)
11.50$
Order total
total including
postal fees
We want the quantities to multiply by 0.20$ and in the last colum, total will be : english * 0.20$ + french *.020$. We are not able to find the way to do that. Also, the total of each line has to add up at the bottom after a fix postal fee.
One more question, how do I create a fix value in a field.
Could someone help me?
Christine

For the row total fields, you can use the simplified field notation calculation option and set it to something like:
.2 * English + .02 * French
where "English" and "French" are the coreesponding field names in that row. The other option is to use JavaScript, but it may not be necessary in this case.
For the column total fields, you can use the built in calculation option of "Value is the sum", and select the fields involved from the list.
After you set up all of the calculated fields, check the field calculation order to make sure it's correct.

  • How to give level value 'unknown'

    Hi there,
    When creating a dimension with OWB, we get for every level also a row with empty values voor de levels underneath.
    E.g.: Dimension customer: Level Total, level customer group, level customer.
    I get:
    =====================================
    Level_total customer_group customer
    Total NULL NULL
    Total Group1 NULL
    Total Group2 NULL
    =====================================
    This is generated by OWB automatically.
    Anybody any idea how to fill in 'Unknown' instead having it blank? I've looked if i can fill somewhere a property, but could not find.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Acrobat XI - Populating value of a field based on another field

    pdf built in Acrobat XI
    New to this and I have tried every possible combination I can think of! For simplicty purposes, I have two text fields, Text1 and Text2. I want Text2 to populate based on the value entered into Text1. Have an Action event (Mouse Up) on Text1 as follows:
    var OneT = this.getField("Text1");
    var TwoT = this.getField("Text2");
    TwoT.value=OneT.value;

    [Moved to Acrobat JavaScript forum]
    If you name each field the same, the values will automatically be the same. But if you want to be able to change the value of Text2 after it is autopopulated, you should use a different script and a different event. The following custom Validate script for Text1 will set the value of Text2 when the value of Text1 changes:
    //Custom Validate script for Text1
    getField("Text2").value = event.value;
    If you only want to set the value of Text2 when it is blank, the code could be:
    // Custom Validate script for Text1
    // Get a reference to Text2
    var f = getField("Text2");
    // Only set it value if it is currently blank
    if (!f.valueAsString) {
        f.value = event.value;
    This allows the user to change the value of Text2 without it getting reset when Text1 is changed.

  • How to give values to the field in free selection via call transaction?

    Hi,
    I'm using call transaction for transaction "FAGLB03". And i'm passing the values for the fields company code, account number and year using the respective parameter id. But i need to pass the value for Profit center also, which is in the free selction button (near to variant button). I have tried by passing the value thorugh the parameter id. but it is not taking up. The code is as follows:
        SET PARAMETER ID 'ACC' FIELD lv_saknr.
        SET PARAMETER ID 'BUK' FIELD lv_rbukrs.
        SET PARAMETER ID 'GJR' FIELD lv_ryear.
        SET PARAMETER ID 'PRC' FIELD lv_prctr.

  • Adobe Acrobat XPro - Unable to set automatic date in form

    Hello -
    I created a layout in Indesign and brought it into Adobe Acrobat XPro to create a form.
    I have not been able to get the form to automatically populate a date when it opens. In fact, I am unable to even type in the box now. I entered this code under validate in the text properties:
    var f = this.getField("Today");
    f.value = util.printd("m/d/yy", new Date());
    I also entered this code in another area:
    Under page properties, page thumbnails and page properties. Under actions - Select trigger - page open. I added a run a javascript action:
    var f = this.getField("Today");
    f.value = util.printd("m/d/yy", new Date());
    Please help. Thanks so much!

    You can use the following code to catch and display the error message:
    try{
    var f = this.getField("Today");
    f.value = util.printd("m/d/yy", new Date());
    } catch(e) {
    var cMsg = "An error occurred setting the date\n";
    for(var i in e) {
    cMsg += "\n" + i + ": " + e[i];
    app.alert(cMsg, 1, 0);
    If the error message displays "f is null" then you have a missing field or are using the wrong field name.

  • Use commitKey to change value in next field

    if (event.commitKey == 3){myTrustedFunction(this);} So I want to run this function on a specific field after tab is used in this field. Instead of this I would like to use
    var school=doc.getField("SCHOOL NAME");How can I run this function on this specific field. The tab is going to this field also. So it goes like this enter value tab value for next field is automatically entered. Bam.Tab to next field.

    JavaScript™ for Acrobat® API Reference
    if ((event.value.length<5)&&(event.value.length>3)){
                    event.value=("0"+event.value.toString());
                if ((event.value.length<4)&&(event.value.length>2)){
                    var num=event.value=("00"+event.value.toString());
                if((event.value.length<3)&&(event.value.length>1)){
                    var num=event.value=("000"+event.value.toString());
                 if(event.value.length<2){
                    var num=event.value=("0000"+event.value.toString());
    if (event.commitKey == 3){myTrustedFunction(this);getField("SCHOOL NAME").value = event.value;app.alert(num);}
    else{app.alert("poop");}
    so this crazy thing is just like a puzzle you get one thing to work and you break another. So I now have the field that I want with the correct data in that field. But in doing so i have recked the first field. They both now share the same data. I would like to put it back and give it the data of var num. But I do not know how. Because. getField("SCHOOL NAME").value =num does not work.

    My requirement is whenever the user press the edit button in PO screen,automatically a flag field should be set as abap_false.
    I dont think this will handle in check badi or change badi. i tried this part in onbuttonpressed overwriteexit in CNR_VIEW views,i can get the function EDIT in debugging mode,but dont know how to proceed further.....
    Many of them suggested to go with get attribute and set attribute for changing any particular field in web dynpro,but im not very familiar in using those get and set attributes.I request you people can give me sample code on how to identify my target field in the node and set the values while pressing EDIT Button.

  • Field with a default value from another field

    I need to populate a field as the default value from another field that the user inputs. I've tried the scripting that I found from the below Topic in the Archived Forums, but I'm not able to make it work. I've tried numerous variations and still to no avail. I tried to make the scripting work in Acrobat 6 and then decided that maybe I needed to upgrade, so I'm now trying it in Acrobat 8 with no results. Can anyone help?

    This, or some variation of this, should work:
    if(this.getField("date2").value == ""{
    this.getField("date2").value = this.getField("date1).value;

    Thanks very much.
    I put it in at document level to start, but it didn't run the script automatically when date1 was first filled in, so I have put it in as a mouse exit action in date1 and it works a treat.
    Thanks for your help.
    Ben

    Okay forget what I posted above and lets start over. Go to your first field and under Properties -> Actions Tab -> Select Trigger -> On Blur Run A JavaScript.
    Put this:
    this.getField("myField2").value = event.target.value;
    Make sure that you replace ("myField2") with the actual name of your second field. I just tested this and it works for Acrobat version 6.
    I haven't been doing as much javascripting as I used to, so sometimes I too make some basic mistakes.

  • Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System

    Hi,
    I downloaded Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System Using MII 12.0
    senario from sdn. I'm trying to do that senario in MII 12.05. But I have problem with section 6 in page 7 (you can supply senario from sdn)
    "6- Under the loop of Repeater, use action u2018Rowu2019 to append just the string part of the WA which will display only values for field u2018Batchu2019"
    I did not find WA elemen in Output element of Repeater_0
    How can I create WA element?
    Thanks.

    Cemil,
    Set up a SAP JCo Interface action block.  Use the RFC name RFC_READ_TABLE.
    In the link editor map the table to "MARA", set RowCount to something small (20 is good sample size) and create an xml transaction property named FIELDS and copy the following into it:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><FIELDS>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>MATNR</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>MTART</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>BSTME</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>XCHPF</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
          <item>
            <FIELDNAME>DATAB</FIELDNAME>
            <OFFSET/>
            <LENGTH/>
            <TYPE/>
            <FIELDTEXT/>
          </item>
        </FIELDS>
    Then link the Transaction.FIELDS to SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/FIELDS}.  You may run into problems with two other fields and optionally they can be removed (set link type to remove xml).  I usually remove them initially for testing.  The two fields are:
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/NO_DATA}
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/DELIMITER} (or you can set this to something like a semicolon,";" or tilda,"~".  I find it easier to caclulate position by length, but that is my own idiosyncrasy.)
    Once you get this one working, we can explore how to do filtering on the dataset.  Your output should be something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <RFC_READ_TABLE>
      <INPUT>
        <DELIMITER />
        <NO_DATA />
        <QUERY_TABLE>MARA</QUERY_TABLE>
        <ROWCOUNT>20</ROWCOUNT>
        <ROWSKIPS>0</ROWSKIPS>
      </INPUT>

    Add a repeater sourced on:
    SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Response{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/DATA/item}
    Link your repeater output to a tracer with this:
    Repeater_0.Output{/item/WA}
    What you will see in each tracer message is a single line of data with all the fields contents concatenated together.  You can look up what each field in the string represents by the length of the field as returned in the Response segment of the RFC_READ_TABLE rfc.  Then you can parse out the data you are interested in.
    Give this a try and let me know how you succeeded.
    By the way, I could not find the scenario you referred to.  Can you post a link?

  • Need value in a field to be Save As name of document

    Hello,
    I have a text field which will have a value in it that will also be the name of the PDF. I am familiar with JavaScript as it applies to InDesign, but do not have a clue as to how to write a script for Adobe Acrobat. I know this much:
    var v =  this.getField("WorkOrder");
    What's next?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    I want the field to perform an action. I can make the action to open the Save As dialog upon exiting the field, but I would like Save As to already have the value of that field. Since a number of folks will be using this form the script has to be embedded in the form.

  • Increment value in a field but keeping it constant throughout the day

    In a PRE-INSERT trigger on an application I have a problem
    keeping the value in a field constant for the rest of the day
    until the next day. The automatically generated number should
    change only if the system date changes. How can i do this?.
    The code is as below:
    begin
                        update sequence_number
                   set maxseqno = maxseqno + 1
                        where table_name
    = 'ECONET';
    begin
    select maxseqno into :two.seqno from sequence_number
    where table_name = 'ECONET';
    end;
    begin
    select ltrim(to_char(:two.seqno,'00000000000000000009'))
    into :two.line_number from sequence_number
    where table_name = 'ECONET';
    end;
    begin
    select ltrim(to_char(:two.seqno,'00000000000000000009'))
    into :two.unique_transfer_batch from sequence_number
    where table_name = 'ECONET';
    end;
    end;

    The easist way is probably to store the date the sequence number
    was last set, and then only increment the number if the date is
    different.
    If you just want a sequence number that changes once each a day,
    an alternative might be to just calculate the number of days
    since a particular date.
    In oracle this would be something along the lines of
    trunc(sysdate) - to_date('01-OCT-2001','DD-MON-YYYY') to give
    the number of days since October 1st.

  • PO Form with Terms & Conditions that Change Depending on a Value in Another Field

    Hi - I have read through the relevant topics in this forum and have attempted several of them without luck. I am currently working on a form in which there is an empty JFMain (I do not want to populate fields on this page since I don't want things in this page my "static" header - logos, title, etc. since the Terms and Conditions pages should not show any of this.) On my page 2, I have subforms for all my fields except my Terms and Conditions. (These fields are controlled by a data file.) On my remaining pages I have 3 sets of Terms and Conditions - all about a page long - hard-coded as text and placed in subforms with a dummy field off page to ensure they print. What I want to do is print the subforms from page 2 and then the applicable terms from page 3, 4, or 5 depending on the value in a field located in one of the subforms on page 2. What I currently get is my subforms and then ALL my terms printing. Any thoughts?
    My preamble overrides look like this:
    ^define group:D_HEADER \field$POSITION\reserve".11",in\subformHEADER.
    ^define group:G_HEADER @group:D_HEADER.
    ^define group:dummy!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Private_Commodity
    ^define group:dummy2!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Private_Services
    ^define group:dummy3!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Public
    ^define group:JfEndData!EndData @group:D_end.
    I had to place the JFEndData! statement into the Preamble since the last subform with fields called before the Terms subforms has a global field from another subform above it. For whatever reason, it was duplicating this subform after printing the Terms and Conditions.
    I tried adding a nested if statement into field that will control when I want each subform to print but it was ignored. I also tried hardcoding a group call into the preamble with the logic as well with no results. If someone has example code they can share, this would be great.

    I receive Adobe help forum posts via email and I've been saving a few for the pointers they contain. I have some saved that might help you out a bit...
    A reply to the "Please can some one help me out......." post by Mr BoJangles on 10/29/2007 gives some information about forcing a subfield to be displayed.
    A reply to the "Conditional logic" post by Marco Degl'Innocenti on 8/2/2006 gives information on initiating a subform based on the value of a field in the data stream.
    A reply to the logic post by Marco DeglInnocenti on 2/22/07 also gives information on initiating a subform based on the value of a field.
    I hope these can be of help. If you can't access them on the forum I can repost them.
