ACS Command line login..

Hi
I have a superadmin account in ACS.
with this account i can able to login GUI but can't able to login CLI mode.
what could be the problem ?

Hello Tony,
The ACS GUI Administrator accounts and CLI Administrator accounts are different. You cannot login with GUI accounts into CLI.
You need to use CLI created accounts to access the ACS command line. You should have created one when first installing the ACS 5.x.
If this was helpful please rate.

    Hi,
for those issues you need to use the SDK. By using the SDK you can connect other apps to B1.
For more informations take a look into the SDK manual or visit the SDK forum.

  • Command line login to ZEN agent

We use clientless Win XP machines connecting to ZENWorks via the middle

    I don't know.
I never tried it, but I was told that by somebody smart that they

Could you please export the changes you made to a reg file and paste

  • How do I get to a command line before X starts? I screwed up.

I installed some drivers improperly, and now as I start up my system, it goes to X, which dies. How do I get to an Ubuntu like "recovery mode"? Where I can use a terminal to uninstall the package?

You can try booting into single user mode and taking it from there. Also, if you're using the /etc/inittab method for starting X, you can try appending "3" to the kernel line (instead of "S", "Single" or "1"), and booting into runlevel 3 instead, which should leave you with a command line login prompt.

  • How to login in command line by adding user/password in the same line

is it possible in OSX to login in terminal by typing:
    +login username password+
I tried many unix command and never find a command that can do that in one line, it always ask for the password in the second line.
I need that to be used in Python application,
or if there any possibility to write code in python to do that in OSX using python osx modules,
while in windows it worked perfect by using win32API in Python.
I hope Apple developers can help me with That
    Thanks

This isn't possible because it would be a terrible security vulnerability--any process on the system can see a program's command line arguments. (Just type "perl -e 'sleep 5' & ps" in a terminal if you don't believe me.) If you want to log in like this, you'll have to open the "login" program in such a way that you can give it the password through its standard input.
Also note, however, that "login" will not change the account your Python program is running as; it just starts a shell running as that account. If you want your program to run as a different user, you need to look into a set of commands and techniques called "setuid" or just "suid"; a Google search for "setuid python" should get you started. (I'm not a Python programmer, so I can't really tell you exactly how setuid works in Python.)

    u could use scripting...

using that at the command line will change the volume level to 20.
you could put that in a script or something and have it launch at login.

  • Slim fails to login...how to get command line back?

Man, what a drag.  I (seemingly) successfully installed Arch with xfce, which is a huge accomplishment for a guy coming from years of Ubuntu, and avoiding command line and config files every chance he gets.
Anyway, I'm using slim as a display manager, and it fails to login (I am choosing the xfce session).  I can't seem to get to a command line so that I can try a different display manager.  Google says that Ctrl-Alt-F1 should do the trick, but that just gives me a black screen and sits there.  Any help?
    Thanks.

  • MariaDB allowing login without command line password

    Hi,
Today I have upgraded to MariaDB as recommended. I am currently in configuration process and didn't want my cronjobs to run with a command line password for MySQL. Thus I searched and came up with three different solutions (found on SO). None of these options work for me.
Note: I did not try thins on native MySQL so this issue might not strictly be with MariaDB, but I cannot know.
The methods described in the answers where:
    - Placing a users ".my.cnf" in his home dir and inserting this:
    [client]
    password = my_secret_pass
    - Setting the MYSQL_PWD variable:
    MYSQL_PWD="my_secret_pass" mysql -u username -p
    - Changing the default searched file ".my.cnf" to something different.
    mysql --defaults-file=my_user_login.cnf -u username -p
I also tried a fourth method: Just editing the global "my.cnf" in "/etc/mysql/". There was already a line like this:
    #password = your_password
I changed that and restarted the mysql service. Stil running
    mysql -u username -p
    asks for a password.
    When running
    mysql --defaults-file
    it complains
    mysql: unknown option '--defaults-file'
    But when running
    mysql --help
    it says this:
Default options are read from the following files in the given order:
    /etc/my.cnf /etc/mysql/my.cnf ~/.my.cnf
The following groups are read: mysql client client-server client-mariadb
The following options may be given as the first argument:
--print-defaults        Print the program argument list and exit.
--no-defaults           Don't read default options from any option file.
--defaults-file=#       Only read default options from the given file #.
--defaults-extra-file=# Read this file after the global files are read.
I have tried those options, with and without the "=" but it complains that they are not present.
Google on this only spit out that MariaDB behaves on this like MySQL does (they link to the MySQL docs).
The last fallback idea would now be that Arch has disabled this behaviour during compile time (but why is the doc then there?). Is anyone able to help me on this issue? Thanks in adavnce.

  • Home directories from GUI work but not from command line

I'm having trouble accessing home directories through SSH. After significant trouble, I reinstalled OS 10.4.6 Server on each of my 24 XServes. This is a HPC with an XServe RAID providing the storage space. I promoted the first XServe to an Open Directory master and created 2 test users. I created a two sharepoints from the XServe RAID--one for general data and one for home directories. I enabled AFP on both, granted R/W access to the default group "staff" (of which my two test users are members) and set the home directory sharepoint ("HomeDir") to automount using AFP for users' home directories through WGM. If I use Remote Desktop to login to one of the cluster nodes, the home directory seems to mount correctly. However, if I try to access the same user account through the command line--the home directory cannot be found.
I can cd to /Network/Servers/headnode.domain.com/Volumes/HomeDir; but I cannot see any of the folders listed there. On the head node, I can verify that the user's home directory has been created--it seems to be fully populated. I've checked permissions, and they seem to be correct; but the fact that I cannot access it from the command line seems to suggest that there's a greater permissions issue.
I've tried doing the identical setup using an NFS automount instead of AFP with no success. I can't find any answers for command line/SSH access to this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    CF

I've discovered something else in the course of troubleshooting this problem. If I login as a test user through remote desktop to, say, node1.domain.com; the home directory mounts correctly; and, as long as I do not reboot either headnode.domain.com or node1.domain.com, I can login via SSH and access my home directory.
Of course, if I do reboot--access no longer works. I've browsed through dozens of other posts and tried to follow other users' suggestions. I've manually created a hosts file, which I've uploaded to /etc/hosts on each node. I've double and triple checked DNS and DHCP--I have LDAP propagated through autodiscovery on DHCP; I have each node statically assigned; and I have DNS entries for each node. I also have computer entries in WGM; and I've used the FQDN of each node (node#.domain.com) for everything across the board.
I'm also hitting the "authentication error" when I try to access my other AFP sharepoint. I can't figure this out.

  • How can I start System Preferences from the command line?

    Hello All,
I have an issue I'm not quite sure how to solve. I have been tasked within my business environment  with tightening security on a Mac Leopard system and I've been granted Admin Rights to do this on a temporary basis.
    The problem is as follows:
    1) The original Sys Admin that set up this system is gone, no longer available.
    2) He was a Dvorak Keyboard fan and set up the system for a Dvorak Keyboard.
    3) The system actually has a standard Apple keyboard and is marked accordingly, i.e., qwerty (Most Users in the building have stopped using this system altogether - a terrible waste of a good system - even though some of their apps can be run normally (US style qwerty settings). The command line is useless, as is texteditor.app and a few others unless you know Dvorak layout)
    5) When I open System Preferences, the Dvorak keyboard checkbox is grayed out and I cannot change it. There is no lock at the bottom of that particular screen for me to unlock.
    6) Even though I select the US Keyboard at Login, and some apps work accordingly (like MatLab for example) the terminal is borderline useless. I spent over 2 hrs yesterday doing what should have been able to be done in about 30 minutes. I estimate a frustrating and mistake prone additional 8 to 10 hours to do what is normally a a 4 hour job at the command-line.
    7) I do not have the time or desire to re-mark all the keys on the keyboard, particularly since it is not my call to do so, nor do I have the time to re-learn Dvorak touch-typing, and finally I do not want to re-load the entire system. I just want to change the darn keyboard to a standard qwerty keyboard that is somewhat useful in a terminal environment with vi, command line, etc. It's either that or I go mildly insane
This is frustrating as all get-out. The new Admin logged in and was able to uncheck his Dvorak settings (he is not a UNIX guy, nor is he comfortable om Macs), and we were hoping this was a system wide setting, but No. We re-booted the system, I logged in, still Dvorak, and the checkbox was still grayed out.
So I figure, short of re-loading the entre system and all the applications necesary, I can either start the Systems Preferences GUI using sudo and hopefully that will change system-wide settings, or I can delete the .AppleSetupDone file and resetup the system (if the keyboard settings are part of the setup) without spending a couple of days reloading everything and re-setting up users, networks, etc.
Needless to say, I am hoping for the easiest and quickest solution to this extremely frustrating and  aggravating problem.
    Thanks.

For my situation the following C# code does the job:
        Process.Start(
           @"c:\Program Files\National Instruments\CVI71\cvi.exe",
           @"c:\temp\experiment.c" );
    The file must already exist.

  • G5 will not boot into OSX - stays at a command-line prompt

My G5 will not boot into OS X. I would appreciate and and all advice. Thanks.
    What happened:
I had the G5 running one morning, with the Isight camera on, plugged into the front-console firewire port. I was running EvoCam software.
At about 2 hours into running, the cam stopped broadcasting – I got home to check it out three hours later, and the screen was black, and the fan was louder than I had ever, ever heard it on this box.
I did a hard shut-down with the powerbutton on the Cinema Display monitor.
At reboot, I see a grey screen for approx 5 seconds, with a dark grey apple logo, and then the screen goes to black, with a command-line prompt.
It’s been like that ever since.
I ran the Apple Hardware test, from the internal CD drive, and it shows no errors.
I cannot boot from an OSX installer DVD. It won’t recognize it. It goes straight to the black screen and Command line prompt.
I have re-seated the RAM, as well as the Airport Card. The only other card – which I have not re-seated, it the video card.
I am able to use the machine in Target Mode, so I can extract data from the drives, which is great. Oddly enough, I’m able to use the front-console firewire port to connect to my other Mac in Target mode – with no problems. Also – in Target mode, the fan never goes above the usual quiet self.
I would appreciate any advice one can provide. Thanks!
