ACS Database type (e. g. mysql,sql,postgre)

Can anyone tell me what is the database of cisco ACS 4.2. And one more thing how can i access the ACS database to view the infos of the DB.

Sybase is the internal database for ACS View server. The data retrieved from multiple ACS are processed and stored in the ACS View internal database.
Please check the below link for getting more information:

  • ERROR Util: unknown database type (name=MySQL)???

    running WLS V8.2 on Solaris...
Recently migrated a developed EAR application from a Windows machine (v8.1) to a Solaris test environment (v8.2). Getting a weird error with JDBC connections to a MySQL database:
    [ExecuteThread: '14' for queue

unknown database type found. datbase name = MySQL, database driver name = MySQL-AB JDBC Driver]
No idea why. Do JDBC drivers have to be registered to WLS? Seems odd. Should be fine just including the MySQL JDBC drivers in with the startup classpath. And I don't understand why the problem doesn't occur on Windows?

IMO that's because MySQL is not MS SQL

  • Database Type field in Data Services 3.0

    Hi,
Now I'm using the IDSServer 4.5 JDBC-ODBC driver type 3 to connect BEA Acqualogic Data Services 3.0 to MS-Access 2003.
I configured the IDSWaldbottDS DataSource with those parameters:
    Driver class name: ids.sql.IDSDriver
    URL: jdbc:ids://psnb161:12/conn?dsn=WaldbottDS
I created the system DSN ODBC datasource called 'WaldbottDS' in Windows XP
Based on the AdminServer log file, I can demostrate that the BEA connect successfully with MS Access:
    ####<Mar 5, 2008 9:14:37 AM ACT> <Info> <JDBC> <psnb161> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1204726477248> <BEA-001516> <Connection Pool "IDSwaldbottDS" connected to Database: "ACCESS", Version: "04.00.0000".>
Now, In the project Explorer, I executed those commands:
    New -> Physical Data Service.
Inside the Create Physical Data Service dialog box, the Relational database objects is set to Tables and views.
I select the Data Source Type as Relational. When I select IDSwaldbottDS as Data Source, nothing appears in "Database Type" field. If I press the next button, an error message appears:
    "Cannot obtain connection: driverURL = jdbc:weblogic:pool:IDSwaldbottDS, props = {EmulateTwoPhaseCommit=false, connectionPoolID=IDSwaldbottDS, jdbcTxDataSource=true, LoggingLastResource=false, dataSourceName=IDSwaldbottDS}.

I recognize that the "Database Type" must be filled with the database version so I can continue configuring the physical Data Source for MS Access 2003.
How can I solve this problem?

[ There original post I made is incorrect.  The classes/shared libraries need only to be available to the server - they do not need to be available to ALDSP Studio, since the database is access via the server. Double check that the required classes/shared libraries for your jdbc driver are available to your server ]
I searched our CR database for the stacktrace/error that you have and found serveral CR. Most of them indicate the problem was jar file(s) for the jdbc driver were not present in the client classpath. So - whatever you added to the server classpath (and PATH - if there were also shared object libraries) - we need to add those to the ALDSP Studio (eclipse) classpath (PATH).
you can put the jar(s) in
    aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0
    and modifying
    aldsp_3.0\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_3.0.0\META-INF/manifest.mf.
There are two places in manifest.mf you will need to add the jar file - once under Bundle-Classpath and once under Export-Package.

  • ACS database reporting permissions issue

    Hi,
I have an issue with my testing of the ACS reporting in two test environments (SCOM 2012 SP1). One has SQL installed on the same server as the MS and the other is a separate SQL install on its own server with multiple MS’s. On both SQL servers
the ACS database is running on the same server as the other SCOM databases under an instance called SCOM. When we go live the intention is to run on a separate SQL server so not sure if this would still be relevant at that point.
First off all my normal reports are running fine from the console and from SQL reporting services. My understanding is that the reports are running under different contexts at this point – the web reporting with the account I am logged in
with and from within SCOM console trying to use the data reader account.
When trying from the web reporting services or SCOM console I get -
“An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'dataSource1'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)”
With regard to the account I am using for the web reporting. It’s a domain admin account. However what I also did was create a global security group called “SCOMACS” and gave this group “db_datareader” permissions within SQL.
I also gave the data reader service account permissions to see if this fixed the issue from the console.
    Wonder if anyone could help?

    Hi,
This seems more like a SQL issue, please make sure your database engine is configured to accept remote connections
    • Start > All Programs > SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration • Click on Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections • Select the instance that is having a problem > Database Engine >
Remote Connections • Enable local and remote connections • Restart instance
Please go through the below blog to troubleshoot this issue:

unfortunately oracle is not available here though I have installed oracle 11g on my machine and setup users to be used in the epm system ( version 11.1.2)
the only type available is the oracle jdbc driver .
Any suggestion as to how i can get oracle database type here ?
OR am i missing something prior to installation.

To connect to load data or metadata follow steps
    1. Create a system DSN in the machine which is hosting Essbase Server.
    2. Select Create Rule file.
    3. Go To File and select Open SQL.

The error message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified {IM002}" is self explainind - DG4ODBC is not able to find the ODBC DSN you created.
In your gateway init file you configured the DSN: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = testmysql
And according to the Windows ODBC Admin screenshot you created a DSN called testmysql - unfortunately you created it as a USER DSN. But DG4ODBC needs a SYSTEM DSN. The reasin why it needs a system DSN is that by default the Oracle listener is running in the local system account. So when you create an ODBC USER DSN it can be access by the user who created it, but nobody else can use it - also not the local system account which is serving the Oracle listener. So you need to create a system DSN that every user on this machine can use the DSN (including the local system account) .

  • How to get the Database type from weblogic Db connection

I want to use database version control in my application . that means different database type use different Sql Statement. Such as in weblogic7.0 if I create SqlServer JDBC pool then I will use some special Sqlserver sql Statement . such as some join statement. If I create Oralce JDBC pool then I have to use different Sql statement . because these two database support different Sql statement.
What my question is how to get the database type from the connection.

For a normal jdbc driver you can use
    Connection.getMetaData()
To get the meta data, in particular the getDatabase...() methods.
That might or might not work.
However, at the very least in the server you have access to the weblogic properties so you can parse the pool property to figure it out.

  • Database Toolkit: Reading data from SQL database

    Hello,
I have been working on a automated test system storing data into a SQL server database.  Once you get your head wrapped around the toolkit and walk through some of the examples it is not too bad.  Writing to the database was very straight forward.  I simply put all of my data including the primary keys into a cluster and inserted the cluster into the specified table.  As I learned the hard way,  it is very important for all of your types to match up.  I saved double type from labview as decimal type in the SQL database, and long integer in labview as integer in the SQL database.
For the the read VI, this is where my questions lie. After establishing a connection reference I used the "DB Tools Create Parameterized Query" VI combined with a SQL statement to find the recordset that I was looking for.  I used a standard SQL statement using the primary keys such as, "Select * From TableName Where Measurements = "%Measurements%" ".  This VI creates a command reference which I then passed to multiple "DB Tools Get Parameter Value" VIs.  I could not get this to work with the command reference.
I then switched over to the "DB Tools Execute Query" inputting the same SQL statement I had used before.  THis VI passed a recordset reference, which I then passed to a "DB Tools Get Properties" VI to check if the database was empty or not.  I then passed the recordset reference to multiple "DB Tools Fetch Element Data"  VI's to read the data from the SQL database.  THis worked very well.
    therefore I am wondering:
What is the difference between a command reference and a recordset reference in the Database connectivity toolkit?
Why would one work and not the other?
Is there ever a case when you would want to use one method over the other?
I have asked my app guys and Labview training instructor different database type questions, and I not received a decent answer to date.
    Thanks,
    Jackson

    Hello,
Can you pass the command reference to a single "DB Tools Get Parameter Value" VI?  What exactly do you mean when you say you couldn't get this to work with command references... can you post an error message or the results?  The documented difference is that they are different flavors of ADOs (activeX data objects), one is a command and the other is a recordset reference.  I know this does not draw a precise distinction, but I'd like to understand this problem fully so we can find one!
Please repost with anything more you can give!

  • ACS Database Replication over VPN with overlapping Network Addresses

We currently have two co-locations each situated in different provinces. We have two ACS servers which we want to deploy at each co-location. All our network equipments are behind PIX/ASA devices. Getting them to replicate over the VPN should be easy but in our case we have overlapping Network Addresses at both ends of the tunnels.
As per Cisco data does not transit a NAT device when the two Cisco Secure ACS servers communicate and a successful database replication can occur only if the secondary ACS server perceives no change in the IP header or content of the data it receives. So that means we will not be able to Implement NAT to achiever this.
Has any one of you faced this problem of replicating ACS Database over the VPN with overlapping Network Addresses and was anyone able to successfully solve this issue using a work around ?
All provided info and comments are greatly appreciated.

I can help with the 3005 setup if you decide to go that route.
You will need to add 2 network list entries under Configuration>Policy Management>Traffic Management>Network Lists.
You will need to configure a local and remote address. The local will be one of the public ip's for the site.(Provided by your ISP)The remote will be the device you are connecting to on the other end.
You will also need to add a Nat Lan to Lan rule under Configuration>Policy Management>Traffic Management>Nat>Lan to Lan.
Use a static Nat type. The rest will look similar to my example.
Source(Local address)Translated(Public Ip Address used in the network local list)Remote(Ip address of the device on the other end)
Now just create an Ipsec lan to lan tunnel. You will need to agree with the ISP on des type and auth type. Use you local and remote networks you created earlier.

  • How do I detect which database type user is using?

I am using the JDBC-ODBC bridge, and due to limitations of text driver (no getDate for example), I need to know how to read certain fields in. I need to know for any particular run which type of database the user specified.
Does anyone have a simple way to know what type the database is?
    Thanks,

When I see questions that want to know the particular environment, whether it be the platform running on, or the database type, or what-have-you, it is a red flag to me. I would suggest you code it with ANSI-standard SQL if at all possible to remove any such dependencies.

    Hello Keith,
Your issue seems related to deploy some database, is it SSDT deployment? It seems VS General is not the right forum for your case, please choose the right forum for your case, like SSDT forum.
I read your post and it seems your 'Sql100Synonym' does not meet the type requirement, what's it in your project? What do you want to deploy?

  • Get Source database type in variable

    Hi All,
I want to get source database type value in variable. Means if my source db is ORACLE then I should get 'ORACLE' value and if it is SQL SERVER then 'sql servere' something like this. Let me explain you in more details. My target databse is fixed and that is ORACLE. But my source can be different. It may be ORACLE, SQL SERVER or DB2. So I want to get source database type in my variable and based on that I want to go to different path in master package..
    Thanks

    Hello,
My Bad You had mentioned it earlier i should have read your initial post carefully !
But TYPE ANY doesn't define an internal table, generic type for a table should be ANY TABLE.
    Anyway check this code snippet:
DATA: go_tab_descr TYPE REF TO cl_abap_tabledescr,
          go_struc_descr TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
          wa_comp TYPE abap_compdescr.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS:
<wa> TYPE ANY, "FS to store Work Area value
<val> TYPE ANY.  "FS to store field value
    go_tab_descr ?= cl_abap_tabledescr=>describe_by_data( <itab> ).
    CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
"Get the structure of your internal table
    go_struc_descr ?= go_tab_descr->get_table_line_type( ).
    LOOP AT <itab> ASSIGNING <wa>.
      LOOP AT go_struc_descr->components INTO wa_comp.
    *   To access the components of the structure dynamically
ASSIGN COMPONENT wa_comp-name OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <val>.
      ENDLOOP.
    ENDLOOP.

Thanks for help. Actually my requirement is that I have one database on sql server 2005 version. I am planning to migrate it to sql server 2012 version. I want to publish a list of all objects across all databases which cannot be replicated to sql server
2012.How can I do this. Are there any data types which were in sql 2005 version but are depreciated in sql server 2012
    Regards
    Rahul
    yes there are
but why not look at here for breaking changes
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143179(v=sql.110).aspx
The deprecated features would still work though new development using them is discouraged

  • Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)

    Team,
I got an error while creating a User for Domain Account. Below is the screen shot of the error (error : 15401)
Database instance is on SQL 2000 SP3. ( I know it is out of support, But the customer is relutanct to upgrade)
On Google search, i found below article which is best matching for this error
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324321
I have follows each step of troubleshooting. But still the issue persists.
Step 1. The login does not exist == The login is very much exist in the domain as i am able to add the same domain id to other database instances
Step 2. Duplicate security identifiers == i have used this query to find duplicate SID
    /*  SELECT name FROM syslogins WHERE sid = SUSER_SID ('YourDomain\YourLogin') */
But there was only one row returned with create date of today's.
Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)
Step 3. Authentication failure == Domain is available. User is able to login on other servers via RDP connection.
Step 4. Case sensitivity == Database collation is set to Case insensitivity. (CI)
Other two 5. Local Accounts & 6. Name resolution == is not applicable to me.
    I tried other ways also.
    A. Creating login and providing permission in one go only = User account is not created
    B. Instead of GUI, use query to create login and provide required permission = Same error.
Does anybody has faced any such situation
