Action pop-up menu

The "Action pop-up menu" icon does not appear in iPad 4S iCloud toolbar as stated in Apple Support's "iCloud: Manage junk email" narrative.
My goal is to create a junk file in the iCloud email accounts column and add a junk identifier icon in the toolbar.

I've read sooo much trouble with those self-declared 'optimzers' ...-
iM/iLife is heavy involved into the structures of MacOS, Quicktime, the iLife-apps itself are a 'suite' of integrated programs, they do share resources ...-
I like this two numbers: out-of-the-box, a new Mac shows in Finder ~300 files & folders. +de facto+ more than 40.000 are installed ...
with square #1, I meant a complete re-install of your Mac +in toto+ ...
(usually, I NEVER give advice for any re-install, but reading 'optimizer' ... < shiver > )

I have been trying to download photo's from a CD onto my MacBook pro but when I insert the disc I get this box that pops up onto my screen:  You inserted a blank CD. Choose an action from the pop-up menu or click Ignore. Is there a way to fix this so I can use my photo's?

Bummer. Could be a problem with the MBP drive. Are you using Re-writable discs maybe?
Check the discs work in your HP machine. They may have burnt but not successfully. Your HP machine may not be able to open them either.
Have you considered using a USB flash device to transfer the photos, or just copy them over your home network? CD is a slow an cumbersome method.

This was from a previous post:
I am trying to make a POP menu in a JTextComponent that has a assigned JEditorPane for a HTMLDocument to make use of the HTMLEditorKit to allow modifying HTML by the POP up menu.

  • Best way to create pop-up menu's

    Hi All,
I have been having a heck of a time doing something that i
would have assumed to be relatively simple - specifically creating
    a pup-up menu.
My first set of approach was to dynamically create a movie
clip on a button rollover, and within that movieclip create several
other movie clips that i then assigned actions too. The problem was
that since i applied a action on "rollout" on the initial movie
clip, it became a button, and as such all of the sub
movieclips/buttons became in active (any click was only detected on
    the parent).
My second set of attempts have been around the MenuComponent
(see other posts), but here too i have hit problems, initially with
animation and depth. I solved the animation issue, but the depth
    problem remains.
Now, i see pop-up menu's everywhere, so i assume that this is
a relatively simple problem - so what am i missing. A google search
showed up lots of examples of how to do using menu that are created
in the UI (rather than purely in AS), using purchased components.
The first case is not an option since i need to create it fully
dynamically, the second would be an option - however i typically
need a far greater level of visual control than off the shelf
components provide (hence i have needed to build up my own class
    library for many common tasks).
So after all that, i have a simple question.
"What is the best way to create a dynamic popup menu in
    AS2?"
    Regards
    Neil

I guess you want to make your own popup menu, if I understand
correctly. Nothing simpler, your first attempt was in the right
direction, you just don't assign button actions to the parent clip,
because you won't get the child clips to work, but add another
child at the lowest level inside the parent, that acts as a
    "background" clip/button.
And for the rollout for the entire popup, you can add a
transparent clip just under the popup (which is at the currently
topmost depth) covering the entire stage, give it rollover that
acts as your rollout, and make it not use the hand currsor, so you
    can't tell it's there.
That's how I do it, anyways..

  • Dreamweaver 8 Behaviors for pop-up menu

I am a novice user of Dreamweaver 8. I created a site using
pop-up Behaviors for a dropdown navigation bar. I've read about a
lot of problems others are having, but part of my problem I have
not been able to locate anywhere.
After I created my template and want to save changes to the
template and update the files based on this template, I go thru a
series of JavaScript errors. It never updates any files in the end
and sometimes shuts down the program. An example of ONE of the
    error messages is:
    At line 1654 of file "C:\Program Files\Macromedia/Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration\Behaviors\Actions\Show Pop-up Menu.js": The
    function saveDocument() is currently unavailable.
The more pages attached, the more error messages I get....
    all are .js errors.
The other problem is the links from the pop-up. I've double
checked them in the behavior pop-up menu... they appear to be
correct and sometimes work, but not all the time.
Everything I read says that I should create the navigation
with pop-ups (drop down menus) in Fireworks. Is Dreamweaver that
unreliable that this can't be done within itself?
If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong to receive these
errors and how to correct my links so they are reliable, I would
very much appreciate it. I have recreated this site 6 times and the
    errors are consistent.
    Thanks, cjbyrnes

You read about all these problems, yet you pressed ahead and
    used them? Why?
DW's Pop-up menus are incompatible with DW's templates.
    Embarrassingly sad,
    but true.
Did you read about and investigate any of the many
    alternatives posted?

  • Show Pop-Up Menu error

I'm having a problem with my site menu. The site works off a
template and all links are created in the template. I have a
central menu bar with rollover buttons, each with their own
drop-down menu (using the Show Pop-Up Menu behavior). When tested
in the browser, the menu drops down on mouse-over as it's supposed
to, but when the links in the drop-down menu are clicked on, an
error page comes up. The directory path specified in the Pop-Up
Menu behavior is correct, but changes inexplicably when tested in
the browser. All other links in the site (not in drop-down menu
format) function as they're supposed to. I have no clue how to fix
this problem. I think there may be a script error in the mm_menu.js
file which is automatically created by Dreamweaver, but am not sure
how to go about correcting this. Any ideas?

  • Pop-up menu to list multiple time values (8:00 AM etc.) ?

I was looking at the option of using a pop-up menu to select times (8:00 AM etc.) from to keep from having to enter all the times in my spreadsheet manually. Has anyone done this before and is there a download or widget for this? Unfortunately for me, I would need it to be in increments of 5 minutes starting from 7AM to 7PM or so, which would be a tremendous amount of parameters added to a traditional pop-up menu.
    Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the insight, it seems to make good sense to me with your process to create multiple pop-ups and/or sliders. Since I'm still new to iWork Numbers though, are the tables you illustrated in your reply saved in a separate spreadsheet to use as a reference for the pop-up in other, separate spreadsheets? Is that what LOOKUP is used for (to reference another sheet)?
My invoice has a single cell for an "IN" time and another for an "OUT" time; all incorporated to a fairly "busy" invoice that can't accommodate any additional cells in those areas.
Both tables are on the same sheet, but I placed them on separate tables on that sheet.
They don't have to be on separate tables, and they don't have to be on the same sheet, but they do have to be in the same document, as Numbers does not provide for linking to separate documents/files.
With the busy invoice in your case, you could place the popup and slider cells (two of each) on a separate table, and only the result cells on the same table as your invoice. The popups and sliders could go on the same table as the lookup array, but that table would then have to be both visible and unlocked.
Placing the Lookup array on a separate table allows you to lock that table to prevent accidental changes to it. You can also easily hide the Lookup table by placing it behind the main table (your invoice), or on a second sheet in your document.
Placed on the same table as the rest of the invoice, you can still hide it simply by hiding the two columns containing the lookup information.
An alternate method, requiring no extra cells or tables would be to Use Insert Date and Time (in the Insert menu, or from the keyboard with shift-option-command-D ) to insert the date and time directly.
There are some complications with this which might make it unusable, depending on how many people need to be trained and how well they take to training. Insert Date and Time starts with the assumption that what you really want to do is insert the date. Changing its mind takes a couple of extra steps that must be done immediately, and each time.
    1. Click on the cell to select it.
    2. Go Insert > Date and Time (or press shift-option-command-D )
    3. Before taking any other action, double click the cell (which will now be displaying the current date) to open a small dialogue.
    4. In the dialogue, use the popup menu to choose one of the Time only formats.
    5. Click outside the dialogue to dismiss it.
The cell will now contain the current Date and Time value, and will display the current time.
Note that the Time, when inserted this way, will be the time that the insertion was done, and won't be rounded to the nearer five minutes.
You'll find a discussion of LOOKUP (and the two related functions, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide, and an excellent overview of Numbers (including explanation of the terms I've used above) in the Numbers '09 User Guide. Both can be downloaded using the menu items in the Help menu in Numbers. Both are recommended reading for new and old users of Numbers alike.

  • Here's a Pop-up Menu Challenge/Issue

    Peace.
I have read dozens of posts on using dreamweaver and fireworks to export various symbols, objects, and pop-ups. Getting the pop-up menu to work in DW is to have javascrit code in the header and body portion of the page. Also, the difference between browsers FF and IE, popup menus not working properly .
I have managed to work through most of these problems, including the popup alignment of X,Y parameters, to get them to show up properly (what a nightmare for an intermediate)! If I only knew how to use CSS?
Anyway, I finally got my pop-ups to work the way I want, but ONLY in IE, not in FF.
The "challenge" is that two of my pop-up menus work on FF and the others don't? See images at http://www.christianacademyonline.org/testnew/index.html
I have done my best to scrutinize the script (java/mm_loads,images, etc) and I can't find the problem. The two images that work have two diffent codes, probably (on_click), because I was doing what I could to make it work..
I need more eyes to help find my script problem...I'm almost complete, but missing something!
    Thanks Guys!
    Deke D.

I don't get any pop-ups anywhere nor any menus (if there are supposed to be some). The code is rather messy, also, with all those on-the-fly definitions for styles and endlessly long JavaScript actions. Quite possible that the links override one another. Not to ruin your day, but I'd definitely start from scratch with an empty page and a clean style sheet for the various elements. IMO that's the only way to get this working properly.

I can't tell if you're trying to change the contents of the menu when it
pops up or if you're just trying to reuse the implementation of a menu
    action from the timer.
A standard method for configuring the contents of a menu dynamically is to
setRemoveAllWhenShown(true) on your MenuManager and then add an
IMenuListener to the MenuManager that adds all your menu items every time
    the menu is shown.
    The tutorial at
    http://www.eclipse.org/articles/viewArticle/ViewArticle2.htm l covers this.

  • PDF with pop-up menu to change page

Can I create a PDF in Pro that has a pop-up menu (or other simple selection method) that allows user to select an item in list which will change the displayed page?

You'll probably want to use something like this.pageNum = 5; etc., and have all that embedded in an if conditional (or a switch conditional, which is probably what I'd use).
A good place to get started with JavaScript is here, although you'll have to look here for the PDF specific stuff (navigate to the JavaScript API).
The basic idea is that you create a variable for your button (that's the var cRtn stuff), and the value of the variable is updated depending on the user's action. So, if user chooses a popup menu item named Section 1, the value of cRtn becomes Section 1, and you can then add something like
    if (cRtn = "Section 1") this.pageNum = 5;
Which would send the user to page 5 if they select Section 1 from the popup menu.
Hope that doesn't sound too cryptic!

  • Put "Background from Layer" in the pop-up menu of the layer

Sometimes you need to convert a layer into a background. There is an option "Background from Layer" in the Layer menu and it is good where it is, but I think it would be good and very intuitive to add it also to the pop-up menu of the layers in the layers palette in the same way that a background layer has the option "Layer from Background..."

In the meantime, I've found it easy to write and action and assign an f-key to it.
With CS6 it's important to keep in mind that if you change your bottom layer to Background AND you've cropped your image using the new crop tool, you will lose the "hidden, but still there" part of your image. When the layer once again becomes "Background" you have, in effect, used the old crop tool and lost your way back to the hidden pixels.
It becomes a decision of what you want for that particular image: a larger file size but a way back to the original or a smaller but final file size with no way back.

  • Help with Fireworks  pop-up menu

    Hi All,
    I created a vertical pop-up menu from Fireworks MX 2004. I
inserted it into my Dreamweaver file and it works great. However, I
want the white background of the pop-up menu to be have a 40%
opacity. I know I have to add a bit of coding to the mm_menu.js

write in the code? Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Pop up menu speed.

Is there any way to speed up the sub menu views? i.e. click on Settings on a channel strip....wait...wait....is it coming ....will it open...did I click it? Same with right clicking on a track header on the arrange page. It's not a huge deal but is becoming a little annoying.

On G5 is normal to wait for pop-up menu.. expecially if you adding many folder.
on my personal experienxe there is some of the follow action that totally solved .. or better should reduce a lot of waiting time!
    1) Repair Permission (run crons periodically by using some 3rd party mantaince utility)
    2) switch off Network File and other sharing option
    3) use a fast Hard Drive (Raid striped if possible) and system drive free space arround 25%
    4) Disable spothligth
    5) disable Journaling...
attention please about the 4 and 5 point
I suggest to enable those points after finish to work with Logic...
because Spotligth and Journaling are very important for securuty and safety of your files.
Those of points work on My G5...
Sometime Just repair permission and restart your mac may be sufficient
    Good Luck

  • Where is grapher pop-up menu (piecewise functions)?

    Hi,
I am struggling to learn Grapher, and the only documentation I found is the help file.
I want to enter a piecewise defined function. The help file says:
1- Choose Equation > New Equation.
2- Choose Condition from the pop-up menu next to the Equation field.
3- Enter the number of conditions in the equation.
4- Enter the conditions and expressions in the template.
I am stuck a step 2: where is the said pop-up menu? I tried the equation column on the left. The contextual pop-up menu there (right-click) only has "Reevaluate expression". I tried the equation editing area at the top. The contextual pop-up menu there (right-click) only has "Copy as" and "Copy LaTeX expression". At the far right of that area there is also a menu (as identified by a downward-pointing triangle), which only contains maths templates. At the very bottom left, an action menu contains new {equation, point set, group}.
In short, I cannot find the pop menu supposed to contain the condition item.
    What did I miss?
    Many thanks,
    Jean-Denis

I finally found it myself: the condition is one of the math template in the math template pop-up menu at the far right of the equation-editing area. This is not obvious because it is not labelled as such until you hover the mouse pointer over it. It looks like a brace with two lines.
OK thanks everybody. Back to Grapher.

  • Need help with pop-up menu please!

So I have an older version of Dreamweaver.
I want to apply a drop-down menu or pop-up menu whatever to
words, but so far I don't think I can do that.
I've decided to apply it to a picture instead, and I've done
    this successfuly before.
I select the picture, then go to behaviors and select "show
pop-up menu", fill in the info and say OK, but I then get this
message that goes something like "while applying behaviors action
javascript failed" and "ReferenceError:imgName isNot defined" or
whatever and it won't let me add it.
I've restarted the program and even my computer but it won't
    go away.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
