Activating "Check user privileges" causes TestStand to not start properly.

Recently we checked the box "Check User Privileges" under Station Options->User Manager.
Now when we try to start the Teststand Sequence editor it opens but with all functionality grayed out so that no action whatsoever can be taken.
If we make an attempt to use File-Login no new box appears but the GUI flickers for a millisecond as if a dialog was open and closed at almost the same time.
If we try to start a sequence file directly from windows explorer it replies with an error message : "Could not open the sequence file(s).... Error code: -18360, User does not have required privilege".
What has happened and does anyone have any good ideas about how to remedy this?

Hi GiangV,
You can change the "Check User Privileges" setting back to the default by modifying the TestExec.ini file, located by default at (C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2010\Cfg)
With TestStand closed, change the line CheckUserPrivileges = False to CheckUserPrivileges = True
Also, the login dialog issue can occur if the loginlogout sequence becomes corrupted (this would explain the flickering behavior).  To restore this sequence to its default state, you can do the following:
Move the FrontendCallbacks.Seq file to a different location (such as my documents), located by default at (for TestStand 2010):
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 2010\Components\Callbacks\FrontEnd\FrontEndCallbacks.seq
 Run a repair install of TestStand to recreate the default version of the file
Hope this helps!

  • IBook not starting properly

    My iBook is not starting properly. The machine begins normally: gray screen to blue and a bar filling from left to right, but it does not move past this point. I understand how to re-install OS X for example, but I am reluctant to do that when it seems the problem is only in getting the wheels spinning... Help! What do you suggest?

    Last question first, the command to shut down from Single-User Mode is:
    shutdown now -h
    Check out this Apple Knowledge Base article which addresses the exact problem you're seeing:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302411
    DiskWarrior is likely your best bet for recovering your hard drive. Someone said it is available at Apple Stores, or you can use the online link I've provided here.
    If you have another Mac, you may be able to access your hard drive via FireWire Target Disk Mode in order to retrieve your important files to the hard drive of the other Mac.
    Good luck.

    My I Mac does not start properly without pressing option and apple keys ,and it freezes

    Try any of the following:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
    Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
    Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
    Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
    Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
    If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

    If you are using Windows 7, go to:
    Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features
    Look for a program called 'Apple Mobile Device Support'
    Right-click on it
    Click 'repair'
    Wait until the repair operation is complete, and voila, your problem should be solved, itunes will recognise your iphone/ipod once more. This worked for me.

  • How do I change color on visited sites without causing websites to not view properly?

    I go to Content/Colors, change color of visited sites, uncheck "allow pages to choose own colors instead of my selections above".
    The visited sites change colors, but the websites that I go to do not view properly. They do not have names or headings or shopping carts or search boxes and are very hard to maneuver through.

    You can use code in userContent.css or use the Stylish extension to override the page colors.
    I use code like this:
    <pre><nowiki>a:visited {color:#e08!important;background-color:#eee}
    a:visited * {color:#e08!important;outline:1px dotted red!important;outline-offset:-1px}

  • Cupsd failing post snow leopard upgrade directly causing Excel to not start

    This is possibly a FYI more than anything else... but I'm including it for google purposes! ;o)
    Upgraded to Snow Leopard... had a few problems... sorted most out.
    However, I had a huge problem where the whole Microsoft Office suite was not starting correctly!!!
    For example, Excel was refusing to start at all.
    Tried for hours... no joy.
    Looking at logs found a regular cupsd crash... so tried to fix that.
    Fixed it with the details from this other thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2151368&tstart=0
    As soon as I fixed the cupsd problem... the whole Microsoft Office suite sprang into life!!!
    Result...!
    Now logged within this forum for other googling customers.
    Paul.

    FCS3 was installed about two weeks ago. and SL on the day of release
    Post SL install I launched FCP7 with a complete launch failure and straight into a crash report.
    Post a full reboot I retried and launched FCP7 with no problems
    Since then I have downloaded a trial version of Red Giants 'Magic Bullet Quick Looks' and although it worked, it did crash a couple of times and seemed disjointed (not a very fluid plugin I trying to say) but always restarted.
    The problem is that I wanted to test my applications in 64bit so I booted into the 64bit by pressing the '6' and '4' keys during boot up.
    FCP7 on launch went straight into the crash report. Following that I have tried booting back into 32bit with no success.
    Didn't know how much of the thread 0 you wanted hope this helps?
    Thank you in advance

  • [SOLVED] samba does not start properly again -this time with systemd

    Definitely no luck with this one...
    So, today I've switched to a pure systemd init system, and noticed that I have this old issue again.
    (Link to my old thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=142704)
    Samba doesn't start properly again, more precisely smbd is launched but not nmbd, so samba is not working as it should (for example smbtreee lists nothing).
    Last time I've solved it by putting samba long before networkmanager in the daemons array, but with systemd I'm a bit confused...
    Anyone has this issue?

    I think that nmbd isn't waiting for networkmanager to start on my system, because I'm getting journal entries like

    Oh, this started happening after putting a MUCH faster cpu and motherboard in the system, so maybe there's a race-condition there?

    Hi,
    first shutdown the servers and then log-in as SYSTEM in your database. Then execute the following commands after you replace PARRUN_SOAINFRA with the name of your local SOA INFRA schema:
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."EDN_EVENT_QUEUE_TABLE"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''AQ$_EDN_EVENT_QUEUE_TABLE_E''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."EDN_OAOO_DELIVERY_TABLE"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''AQ$_EDN_OAOO_DELIVERY_TABLE_E''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."IP_QTAB"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''AQ$_IP_QTAB_E''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;

    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."EDN_EVENT_QUEUE_TABLE"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''EDN_EVENT_QUEUE''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."EDN_OAOO_DELIVERY_TABLE"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''EDN_OAOO_QUEUE''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."IP_QTAB"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''IP_IN_QUEUE''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    declare po dbms_aqadm.aq$_purge_options_t;
    begin
    po.block := true;
    dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table(queue_table => '"PARRUN_SOAINFRA"."IP_QTAB"',purge_condition => 'qtview.queue=''IP_OUT_QUEUE''',purge_options => po);
    end;
    commit;
    Finally start the servers and wait to see if soa suite will start properly. Hopefully it will work for you too.

  • [SOLVED] samba does not start properly

    I have three machines ( desktop, laptop, and a mini-itx "homeserver" ), and I use samba shares on all the three machines.
    The homeserver is headless, does not have a DE, and launches samba properly any time.
    On the other machines, the samba service launches ( I can see it on the screen as arch starts ) but does not really start.
    I found that smbd is always running, but nmbd never starts when arch starts up.
    When the startup is complete, I type "/etc/rc.d/samba restart", and it launches the samba service properly, on both machines.
    The smb.conf file is identic on all the machines, except for the server string and the specific machine's share location/name
    What can be wrong? Why does nmbd not start on both machines? (Or why does it on the third?)
    Last edited by scar (2012-07-12 13:57:46)

    Samba is in my daemons array in rc.conf. I've already tried to start it in backround too ( @ ). Did not work.
    I've already tried the /etc/rc.local thing, but not with a sleep before the service start command.
    Will try it.
    Currently I'm using my laptop ( Wicd, not networkmanager , and the first post (skrooge) did not work.
    I'll  try it this evening with nm.
