Activating Click event on Item Renderer only

Hey. I'm working on a s:list and a click event problem. I have everything working just fine on the component and linking, but as you probably guessed, the event cues when anything on the s:list is clicked, including the scroll bar or empty space.
Is there a quick fix to make the event only cue when an Item Renderer is clicked inside the list? Help would be much appreciated, I've been trying to solve this problem for a while.

Hi RKaster,
do you need the reference to the item renderer by force or could you immagine a different approach? If you could work around that you could use the change event instead of the click event. The change event gets fired whenever the selection of items in the list change. A click on an item renderer of course will change the selection if the underlying item isn't already selected.
If you can't work around the need of an item renderer reference you should experiment with the mouseChildren property of the List component (inherited from DisplayObjectContainer, see http://bit.ly/dhqCFS). IMHO of course

I'm trying to create a item renderer based on a Canvas, this renderer is then used in a List component. I'm trying to get a click event fired when the user clicks on one of the items in the List. I'm also formatting the data being passed into the item renderer to do this I'm overriding the set data property like this:

the data is passed fine and the event works too, it seems that click events cause the data not to be passed.
Why does having a click event cause this problem? How can I have a click event on the item renderer and still format my data?

Found out that I can use the itemClick event of the List component I'm using my item renderer in, so really my item renderer does not need a click event.

Get Accept & Reject Buttons only on click of work item in sap inbox

I have a issue.
I have created a form in module pool which has a certain set of feilds. I have placed two buttons in the form namely " Submit " & Update. When ever the submit button is clicked in the form the form which is an attachment goes to the respective approvers for approval.
Issue : I have not placed any Accept or Reject Buttons in the form, I want these buttons to get displayed when the form is displayed in the SAP inbox of the user.
I am not aware of the process, that how the Accept & Reject buttons appear when the form is used for approvals in the workflow.
Can any one suggest me the process, that how do i use these buttons while displaying when the work item is clicked in the users inbox but not when the form is intially filled.
- The approval or Reject buttons should not get displayed when the user is initially filling up the form.
- The Approval or Reject Buttons should be displayed when the work item is clicked in the sap inbox of the user, instead of update & Submit.
On click of the work item - the accept & Reject buttons should be displayed but not the Update & Submit and this should be displayed only when the work item is clicked.
Kindly suggest me the way how to get that ..if possible some peice of code would also be good.

Hi Shanky,
You can create two module pool programs for requirement.
One is for trigger the workflow and other one is to get the approval.
For the approval, create a dialog method and call the screen using call transaction.
So at run time when the user clicks the work item it will display the Approver screen. under Approve or Reject button you have to call the function module, SAP_WAPI_COMPLETE_WORKITEM to complete the work item.

Display item renderer in only some rows of a datagrid

I need to display a combobox item renderer in my datagrid
only in the first of every 5 rows. With the remaining 4 rows in
this particular column empty. Then the pattern will repeat again.

How to dispatch custom events from an item renderer used for Datagrid Column

I am using an Item Renderer for a Data Grid Column and in that mxml, I am dispatching a custom event with data.
But the main mxml which has the DataGrid is not able to resolve the event. How can I solve this?

This is the constructor for Event.
public function Event(type:String, bubbles:Boolean = false, cancelable:Boolean = false)
When you created your custom event after extending from Event, for the parent container receives the event, the bubbles property must be set to true.
Please check if you have done so. That should solve the problem. Let me know if it doesn't.

Bing Maps on IE 11 browser, The mouse click event is only working when we have compatibility mode on.

I have tried out the code in this article in ASP.Net web forms with c# and javascript.
I am using Ajax to call the C# from Javascript and load the data from database.
I have used following article to show the pushpins and there infoboxes.

My code works great on IE 11 , when I have compatibility mode on,
but when compatibility mode is off, the mouse click event is not being received by the Javascript function.
Is this expected behavior of bing maps, Are there any workarounds for this problem?

Hi Ricky, I have tried using Chrome and I see the same issue. The mouse events are not being captured.

Item Renderer for DataGrid

I have a button component as a Item renderer in the column of

Datagrid item renderer with drop down need help.

Hi Guys,
I am populating an advance data grid in which one column has an item renderer containing a drop down. This drop down has 4 items. When user selects more than one row the drop down should contain only two items. In my case when user selects multiple rows using control key and then clicks on any of the rows drop down then that row gets de selected which I don’t want I tried stop propagation and stop immediate propagation but that also didn’t helped. Please help

This is a default bahviour of dropdown.. dropdown will not allow you multiple selections.. you should create your own component by extending the combobox and try your thing,, If you click on one item.. then it calls internally change event. If the change event called then the dropdown will automatically closed.. so you should restrict this ...

Flex Mobile List Item Renderer problems

i have flex mobile list created with item renderer,i remove individual item in flex mobile list,it is worked very well,but some times i double click action or another scroll event using in list, last item doesn't delete in flex mobile list.it is repeated again and again.so anyone this problem faced,give me a solution.

I have fixed the setter of the data not to also manage the state (I figured it was inappropriate there)... overrode the getCurrentRendererState, I'm managing the state staight from the data. When I run the following... All sold items show as sold... and normal states show as normal. When I try to hover over the normal state, it dosen't play the hovered state, and when I click to the selected state. These built in states don't work.

Progress bar - Item renderer

I have a item renderer for a list control. Each item contain
progress bar, which is static, initialized with data from DB.
For example:
Item #1 Usage: 74%
Item #2 Usage: 32%
etc.
This is how it looks like:

(only on click event)

set. Please try the sample below as item renderer.

Getting the value of a checkbox in an item renderer?

I have a list that uses an item renderer with buttons and data. I need to add a checkbox and get the value of this checkbox passed along with the event of the pushbutton.
When the user clicks "add to menu: there is a click handler:

When to use Drop In Item renderer and InLine Item Renderers ??

I am getting confused in where to use Inline ItemRenderer and DropIn Item Renderer .
What i feel is that DROP in Item Renderer are easy to use , and those can satisfy any requirements .
What i read from tutorilas that we cant use Drop In because they say , The only drawback to using drop in is that them is that you cannot configure them

In our previous example, the employee photo property requires use of a custom Item Renderer to render properly in the UI. In this scenario the Image component satisfies our rendering needs out of the box. Implemented as a Drop-In Item Renderer, the Image component takes any data property regardless of name and uses it as the Image component's source property value. Assuming our employee photo property contains a valid image path, the Image Drop-In Item Renderer will work perfectly and resolve the image path as an image in the UI.

Need for a Datagrid with variableRowHeight="true" and custom Item Renderer to display exact rows

I'm in a search of a datagrid with certain characteristics:
     - variableRowHeight = "true"
     - only one column
     - each row must have a custom item renderer with possibly different heights, and a fixed width
     - the datagrid must show always every item in the data provider with no vertical scroll bars, what means that the datagrid height must have always the exact height sum of all the item renderers it is displaying.
     - and no extra empty rows must appear in the last positions of the datagrid
The last two requirements are something difficult to achieve... for some reason, empty rows appear at the last positions of the datagrid. I post what i've managed to get:

Thanks Harui, but it doesn't help. If the border is set it will help, but the very big problem is the empty rows that appear at the end of the datagrid... I can't find a way of measuring correctly the height of the itemRenderers!
I'll update this thread if I manage to do it.
