Activating the javascript debugger in Safari on Windows 7

I apologize if this has already been answered but I have spent 2 hours trying to find out detailed instructions on how to turn on the javascript debugger in Safari for Windows 7 (specifically). From what I have read there is a debugger menu which I must activate by placing this code:
<key>IncludeDebugMenu</key>
<true/>
into the Preferences.plist file. This file did not exist so I created it with notepad, renamed it and saved it with the code included. I do not see any new menu option.
In addition to that I have read that there is a third party Javascript debugger that I can install after accomplishing the first task of showing the debugging menu. Please reply with useful, complete, detailed links explaining how to do this. Thanks

... Are we talking about a different sort of Javascript debugger than the ones you get to through your "Develop" menu?
If not, to bring up your Develop menu, in Safari go "Edit > Preferences", click "Advanced" and check "Show develop menu in menu bar".

Using the JavaScript Debugger with Adobe Reader X (10.1.0) ?

Hello all,
Quite new to JavaScript in Acrobat I am trying to write a 4 page Form with CenoPDF and check/debug it with Adobe Reader X (10.1.0) on a Windows 7 (32bit, usually no Admin rights) PC. I realise Acrobat Professional would be a more appropriate tool, but for the moment I hope to get away with Reader.
Following this instruction I managed to get the Javascript Debugger running with Reader X, but there is a serious issue:
The Debugger window often crashes - and with it the whole Reader - after clicking around on a few controls (triangles in the Scripts window or others). First the font changes, then letters disappear, controls disappear and soon after the whole user interface freezes (see the two screenshots below).
Questions:
Do others also have problems with crashing Debuggers?
Is there a known solution or work around to this problem?

I am having the same problem. Win 7 or Win XP doesn't matter the problems seems to be with Adobe 10.1.0. Works ok with Word, but not adobe reader. Doesn't un-collate if the box is checked. Tried to unchecked then recheck. Use to work but now it doesn't.

I pressed the Javascript Debugger button after installing it on my toolbar, and got this message:

Also, try to be as precise as possible in your terminology. When you say "project window," do you mean the Program Monitor? Anyway, I presume you don't mean the Project panel.

Javascript works on Safari for Windows but not on Safari for Mac (2.0.4)

One part of our mail's web-based interface is not working properly when I use Safari on Mac (2.0.4). However, it works on Safari for Windows and Firefox. I browsed through a lot of the forum entrees with java/javascript on the subject and it seems that java processing is a common problem. I have checked all the necessary settings suggested on the forums but it still does not work.
We tried using the new Safari on another machine and it works. However, I also see lots of forum entrees asking how to uninstall Safari 3!
I also have a window on the open-source SugarCRM not working properly on Safari 2.0.4. Any fix coming?

I noticed that as well. I have to wonder if it's due to not making note of the the different end of line characters between Mac OS X and Windows in code.

This morning when I open safari for oracle e-businese suite R12 to work. It just show javascript disable like this:
And I check the javascript option is enabled.
And Java 7u13 is not working for e-businese suite R12.
Could anybody help me to solve this?

I got tried Java 7 before, but Java 7 isn't certified with Oracle E-Business Suite. So it doesn't work to this issue.

Please embed the JS debugger into Designer. Having to have Acrobat Pro open while using Designer just to use the JS debugger is a serious pain in the a$$.

3.1.2 is the worst release of Safari for Windows!

I have lost capabilities that existed under the prior release - autofill doesn't recognize when user names and passwords change; streaming audio (windows media) no longer works (get an error telling me that the media seems to be unavailable).
Then there is the launch speed which is painfully slow (takes over 1 minute to launch).
Finally, whenever a page I am opening contains java/javascript the entire application freezes for up to a minute.
If this is an attempt to introduce window users to Mac software, the impression isn't going to be good.

No problems here either!
You could allways try to do a fresh new install of Safari, and see if that solves your problems!
But Uninstall your current installation, before installing Safari again.

        I don't recall it being so difficult to upgrade Safari on my computer. I have Windows Vista and I love Safari! But every where I go it is telling me that "this site is not supported by your current browser, please upgrade"
        No problem. Except it is!   I use to be able pop over to Apple and upgrade but now it only gives you the choice to upgrade a Mac. Please don't tell me that I can't use Safari any longer on Windows Vista.....

I knew someone was going to ask me why I still have Vista!   My computer works great with no problems!   I have had this HP Mini for over four years and not one problem!

How do i save the source code of a javascript alert in safari?

I am trying to save the source code of the javascript alert in safari but the menu items blank out.
Is this even possible?

Eventhought it is a usefull function which i did not know about it is not helping me. This is what hapens.
I request an url and get a javascript alert back from the server. The javascript alert triggers that is i get a popup where I can only press ok. If i do not press ok i can not do anything else. the safari menu's are greyed out. if i do press ok i get redirected and i can not read the javascript page with your suggestion.
what i want is read the source for that javascript alert so i know what it says (my filemaker database that is) but because that option is greyed out i am stuck.

If there is nothing on the disk that is important, by all means erase it and partition it anew with sufficient space for your Windows app. But be warned that you will lose everything on the disk. Investing in iPartition will let you change things again in the future if you need to, without losing any data.

Safari on WIndows Vista...HELP!

I just download Safari yesterday because I heard it is now available for Windows!
But so far I'm "OK" with it but I still like IE 7. There is one problem I'm having is the "JavaScript". Every web site that I been to require "JavaScript" or "Adobe Flash Player" it doesn't works!

Wow! 3 mouse-clicks and a plug-in too hard? I didn't realise Windows had become so easy.
Though I am surprised Apple don't include common media plugins (Safari or Quicktime) as part of the install to send the 'easy' message.

Acrobat 9 on Mac: Cannot enable javascript debugger

I've tried setting Javascript preferences as follows:
Enable Acrobat Javascript
Enable menu items JavaScript execution privileges
Enable global object security policy
Enable Javascript debugger after Acrobat is restarted
Enable interactive console
Use Acrobat Javascript Editor
I then restarted Acrobat, and invoked the JavaScript debugger, which starts up with a notice at the bottom: "The JavaScript Debugger is not enabled. You can enable it in the JavaScript preferences."
I get this same result in MacOS 10.5.8/Acrobat 9.5.4, and MacOS 10.7.5/Acrobat 9.0.0
What do I have to do to enable the JS debugger?

So I'm working on building numerous AJAX applications for
various clients when I remember the javascript debugger in
dreamweaver. But oops it's not there..... so back to MX 2004 not
there either.... so back to MX cannot find it. So into the archive
and I install 4 and there it is. Can we have it back please!

Yea that happens to me sometimes also... the only way around I can suggest you is open the form on adobe acrobat pro, there the debugger should show up...
or you can use the try catch statement
