    Hi Experts,
My client wants to implement to new ECC 6.0. We have requirement where the material number is greather than 18 and material descreption is less than 40. Is there any functionality in SAP to have more than material number is 18? Looks like there is a concept called long material number. I am facing hard time to find the good help/documentation. Please give me some insight.

  • Activating Business Functions:

    Dear All,
Is it possible to activate Business Functions other than 000 client using T'code sbw5. If so..., what will be the causes after changes made.

    Hi,
Yes, you can activate business function other than client 000. You have to make sure before activating business function because once activated, you cannot revert back changes.  Once a particular business function is activated, you will get all functions related to that business function.
    Thanks

  • Long Material Number ( 18 symbols) within ECM

    Good Day colleagues,
We have faced the problem after extension of material number length to 40 symbols. Please see detailed description below.
    Preconditions:
    1) Long Material Numbers (>18 symbols) are used in the system
    2) Note 998183 was installed in the frames of support package SAPKA70017(link: [https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1ydSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=998183] )
    3) Engineering Change Management component is used.
    Problem description:
In transactions cc01/cc02/cc31/cc32 when processing long material numbers (>18 symbols) system works correctly only when material exists in the system. When trying to enter non-existent material number (with length>18 symbols) in the change master record, system checks that there is no such material exists in the system and truncates the material number to the length of 18 symbols u2013 in other words it puts truncated to 18 symbols material number in the RC29A-MATNR field of the change master record and that is incorrect. Due to this error system transfers the truncated version of material number to AEOI table (field OBJKT) though this field dimension is 40.
The same problem appears when trying to process such material (non-existent material with long number>18 symbols) in the BOM tab of the change master record. In this case AEOI-OBJKT field has dimension 40 symbols, but positions 19-22 of this dimension are reserved for WERKS value and 23-40 positions are reserved for alternatives numbers. It looks like this internal structure (AEOI-OBJKT) for BOMs was not extended for long material numbers.
    The goal:
To have an ability to process correctly non-existent long material numbers (>18 symbols) in the change master record (both in the tabs of Material and BOM).
Thank you in advance for any proposals.

  • EA-FIN activation business function SFW5

in SPRO "activate business functions" or via SFW5 I try to activate EA-FIN but all options are in grey?!
    any suggestion?
    kr
    Arjan

    Hi all,
The problem is not authorization issue. First of all you have to change system change option ( SE06 ) to modifiable after that you have to change client role ( SCC4)  to "customizing" , changes and transports for client-specific objects to "changes without automatic recording" and cross-client object changes to " changes to repository and cross-client customizing allowed" after all you can activate business function in SFW5.

  • Activating business function OPS_PS_CI_1

    Hello,
I want to activate business function  OPS_PS_CI_1 using transaction SFW5in ECC 6.0 EHS-3.......if I want to deactivate can this be done if necessary.
    Thanks
Moderator message: not directly related to ABAP development.

    Hi Saurabh,
Business function OPS_PS_CI_1 is available as of ERP 6.0 EHP3.
In case you have only ERP 6.0 without any enhancement packs, you may need to upgrade the ECC system to atleast EHP3.
Post this upgrade you may use SWF5 to activate the required business function.
Refer SAP help for more details

    Hope this helps.

  • Business function Activation

    Hi All,
Wanted to understand what would be the impact activating business function "FIN_TRAVEL_2" for Travel management.
Presently we are on FIN_TRAVEL_1 and EHP6. Wanted to have both Travel request and Travel expense report output view though PR05.
As FIN_TRAVEL_2 has this extended feature, wanted to activate that before which thought of taking the experts view on the impact it can have on the existing system.
As new fields get activated on TRIP, Travel Request and Travel expense report, will this have issue for the ones created before the activation.
    Regards...

Wanted to know, if we activate "the FIN_TRAVEL_2" business function now, will that impact anything on the current Travel Requests or Expense sheet in any ways for processing. Also there is portal in place through which Travel requests are created too.
The answer to that and to the activation of any business function in general is always YES. There's loads of coding in hundreds of subparts of the frame program that polls the Switchframework whether certain switches are switched on. I'm pretty sure there's nobody (including myself) who can line out every change in programmable process that takes place due to the activation.
You say you are using a portal, I assume you are using the WebDynpro JAVA Services here? Or are you using transaction iviews with TA TRIP?
What is stated in the help simply means that trips that are created in TA TRIP and WDA are not interchangeably processable. This does not mean that you cannot use the TA TRIP anymore once the business function is activated, but in case in your current business process you are furhter processing requests that are at the moment created in WebDynpro JAVA, that is not going to work likewise with WDA. (I hope this answers your question).
Hence, just wanted to know if i activate this which cant be irreversable, will that have adverse impact on the existing TR or Travel expense reports or any other functionality.
Careful. The activation of FIN_TRAVEL_2 IS irreversable, this means it is NOT reversable. The only unofficial way to deactivate such a business function is to roll back the Database.
I have a question: What exactly are you using the Transaction TRIP for anyway? From EHP2 onwards it's practically obsolete, so you could shift your processes completely to the WDA services and TA PR05.
    Cheers, Lukas

  • Procedure Business Function Activation - How To

    Hi all,
i have a customer that just upgraded it's systems to ehp4, our newest available release. He is now asking on a general best practice procedure how business functions should be activated in which client and what needs to be transported or not.
He has a system with a reference client (000) and a customizing client (200). My guess would be:
    - Activate all required business functions in client 000.
    - Make sure, all BC-Sets have been extracted and activated perfectly.
    - Activate all missed BC-Sets manually in client 000.
    - Transport all changes to client 200.
    - Make sure the transport was performed successfully.
    - Activate all required business functions in 200.
Is that the correct approach? I guess BC-Sets containing C-Tables can only be activated in a reference client!?
    Thanks. Kay.

Sunny - Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the help.  You indicated that if transports do not have objects related to the business function, they may not be affected.  That's the crux of my question.  I certainly understand if SAP requires matching BF activation for any transports that change config in that area, but want to be sure an upgrade of one piece of functionality is not impacting ALL transports to related systems.
Our main driver for the EHP project is updating functions in FSCM (Dispute Management, Collections, etc).  These are the only BFs we're intending to activate at this time.  I'll lay out an example of my question:
EHP4 installed in all systems (Dev/QA/Prod).  Active Business Functions from EHP4 are only related to FSCM and they are only active in Dev system for unit testing.  Now say an issue arises in Prod related to Fixed Assets that requires a config change.  The normal method would be config in Dev, followed by unit testing.  Transport to QA for integration testing.  Finally transport to Prod.
Would this transport go through b/c the config has nothing to do with the new business functions activated or would the transport not move to QA b/c the same BFs were not active in QA that were in Dev?
Hope this helps clarify.  It seems SAP would never "back you in a corner" like that and the transport should go through, but I've seen stranger things happen!
    Thanks again!

  • E-Recruiting - Activation of Business Function

    Hi all,
i'm facing a problem on our E-Recruiting Development System. I've activated Business Function HCM_ERC_SES_1 and try to work off SAP Note 1098046. Unfortunately there are no BC-Sets with prefix HRERC* visible in transaction SCPR20, so i don't know how to activate them.
How can i get these BC Sets into our system. Is there a download site for .bcs Files or something like that?
    Regards
    Mark André

    Hi Mark
You need to compare the table entries acc to the note from client 000 to prod client.
    Please review the note :
    E-recruiting-specific Customizing
    Most tables for the search are tables of type "C" (= Customizing tables;
maintenance by customers only; no SAP import). In other words, after you
unpack the BC sets, you have to reconcile the relevant tables in client
000 (which contains the delivery Customizing) and the tables in the
productive client. Below, you will find an overview over the relevant BC
    sets:
    Hope this helps.

  • Stock analysis based on vendor material number

    Hi
Is there any report which can show the total stock of a material with split on vendor material number (I am entering different vendor material numbers upon goods receipt) or any query I can write to get the above result?
The requirement is as follows: I will order an item with name say X and vendor supplies the item with different name say Y. So I am maintaining vendor specific name in vendor material number. Now I want to see the stock X with what quantity of it is Y.
    Thanks

    Dear Praveen
    You could use the following;
Input and Output Conversion of Material Numbers
    Use
Like every other part in the SAP system, an inventory-managed manufacturer part has an SAP-specific material number that uniquely identifies it. If this material number is uncommon or unknown to the vendor, you should consider the following (especially in the purchasing process):
    ·        You can enter a part with its Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) and its External Manufacturer, and not just with its material number. This is possible because of the input conversion of material numbers.
    ·        The system displays this part with its Manufacturer Part Number and the External Manufacturer in lists and screens. This is possible because of the output conversion of material numbers.
You have to increase the maximum field length for input and output values in the Output Length for Material Numbers field to enter and display the MPN and the manufacturer code in one field
    Prerequisites
You have made the following settings in Customizing:
    ·        You have activated the conversion exit for material numbers.
    ·        You have maintained a delimiter. The delimiter separates the MPN and the external manufacturer when they are entered or displayed in one field.
    ·        You have specified a maximum output length for material numbers. This means that the fields for the long material number are scrollable, and the output columns for lists are wider.
You configure and activate the conversion exit for material numbers in Customizing by choosing Logistics - General ® Interchangeability of Parts ® Set Up Conversion Exit for Material Numbers.
    Features
    Input Conversion
If you have activated the conversion exit, you can enter the relevant MPN instead of the material number in the relevant input fields.
If the MPN is not unique, you enter the external manufacturer in the same field, separating the MPN and the external manufacturer by the delimiter defined in Customizing.
You have defined: as the delimiter.
Enter 45L700W:36121 (Manufacturer Part Number, Delimiter, and External Manufacturer) for the part, instead of material number 1011. If the MPN is unique, you only have to enter 45L700W (the Manufacturer Part Number).
You can now scroll the input field for the material number. This allows you to enter the maximum output length for material numbers, which has also been defined in Customizing.
Input conversion gives you an alternate and additional input option. You can still enter the ERP material number to identify a part.
The system determines the correct material number from your input, and passes it to the program logic. The system handles your input as follows:
    ·        If your entry contains the delimiter, the system splits the entry at the delimiter, interprets both parts of the entry as the Manufacturer Part Number and the External Manufacturer respectively, and searches for a part corresponding to these entries
    ·        If your entry does not contain a delimiter, the system interprets your entry as an (ERP) material number, and searches for the corresponding part in the material master. If this is unsuccessful, the system interprets your entry as an MPN, and searches for the corresponding part.
If the system cannot determine a part clearly, or the search is unsuccessful, it issues an error message.
Value Range for MPN on the Selection Screen
The system converts the MPN into a material number internally.
To ensure that the system correctly interprets the value range for an MPN that is entered as selection criteria, when the conversion exit is activated, the system provides both the material number and the MPN as selection criteria in the selection screen.
    Output Conversion
If the conversion exit is activated, the output conversion ensures that the system displays the MPN and the external manufacturer on screens and in lists, separated by the delimiter in the field or column that usually displays the ERP material number.
If the Output Length for Material Numbers field in Customizing is not long enough to display both the MPN and the external manufacturer, the system displays the MPN, if it is unique.
If the MPN is not unique or the output length too short, the system displays the ERP material number.
The system displays parts with the output length defined in Customizing. In addition:
    ·        You can scroll the output field for the material number on screens.
    ·        The system adjusts the layout of lists to the output length.
    List Formatting
If you use the inventory-managed MPN, you have to change the list formatting as follows:
    ·        Variable length of the material number in reports
In cases of the automatic conversion of the material number into an MPN and external manufacturer, the system takes account of the Output Length for Material Numbers field (defined in Customizing) when it structures the lists for selected reports. This ensures that columns are aligned, line breaks are correct, and the lists can be read.
    ·        Adding a field for the external manufacturer
The external manufacturer should also be displayed in lists because the MPN, into which the material number is automatically converted, is not always unique.
In Customizing, you have defined whether the external manufacturer should be displayed with the MPN. The system adds the field for the external manufacturer immediately after the field for the MPN in lists and on the screen.
You can display the external manufacturer with or without an active conversion exit.
    ·        Sorting by MPN, not by material number
You can sort some lists by material number.
You can sort by MPN in cases where the MPN is displayed instead of the material number.
    with kind regards
    Sundar

  • Identification of old material number at plant level

    Dear All,
We are implementing SAP for  two hospitals. In legacy system each hospital as its own material master and material number. Now in SAP each hospital we are treating as a plant. These two plants are assigned to one company code.
So it means that there will be one unique material number for two hospitals. Now business wants their old material number (which is maintained differently for two Hospitals) at plant level in search functionality
How can I achieve with material master
    Regards
    Subhash

create a class "OLDMAT" for old material number with CL03 for class type 001
define a characteristic for old material number for each plant  with CT04 and assign it to the class  (can as well be done from within CL03). name it e.g. OLDMXXXX (XXXX = plant number)
in MM01 select classification view and add the class. after you hit enter you get the fields to add the old material numbers
Standard F4 help for a material number allows then to search for a material number by classification.

  • How to implement "Application Help" for activated Businiess Functions & Add Ons?

    Dear all
I am setting up a SAP NetWeaver System with Business Function INSURANCE activated (for the use of FS-CD) and the reinsurance Add On FS-RI installed.
I am able to set up "Application Help" in transaction SR13 for the "ERP/ECC part", meaning: When I open some "normal" ECC/ERP transaction, like MM03 oder PA20 and click on ("Help" in menubar >) "Application Help" in SAP Gui, a browser opens an shows me the context sensitive online help page for the corresponding transaction. (For PA20, this is "Displaying HR Master Data", for MM03 it's "Displaying Material Master Records")
If I open an FS-RI transaction (like "/MSG/H_BORD1" oder "/MSG/R_V3"), I am only forwarded to the general SAP Library. But there is an online documentation available ("SAP for Industries" > "SAP Insurance Management" > ...)
So, how to link the Business Functions and Add Ons with the Online Help?
Is there a simple way to set up "Application Help" for activated Business Functions and installed Add Ons?
I found some (online) documentation, but this is all more confusing than helping...
    Thanks for any help!
    Frank

Second, when you create a Core Data Document Based application, XCode generates the MyDocument class, derivating from NSPersistentDocument. This class is dedicated to maintain the Managed Object Model and the Managed Object Context of each document of your application.
There is only one Context and generally one Model for each Document.
In Interface Builder, the Managed Object Context must be bound to the managedObjectContext of the MyDocument instance: it's the File's owner of the myDocument.xib Nib file.
It's not the case in your Nib File where the Managed Object Context is bound to the invoiceID of the Invoice Controller.
It's difficult to help you without an overall knowledge of your application, perhaps could you create an InvoiceItem Controller and bind its Content Set to the relationship of your invoice.

  • While create inbound delviery Material number is not showing

    Hi All,
I am trying to create inbound delivery with reference to Purchase Order.
While using BBP_INB_DELIVERY_CREATE to create inbound deliveries, the material number is not showing up in the VL33N screen but Material Description is coming.
As you have also faced same problem, can you please suggest how to resolve this issue?Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Santhu
Edited by: santosh jajur on Sep 24, 2010 12:48 PM

    Hi,
This function module doesn't pass Material number while creating the inbound delivery.  Instead you can use the function module GN_DELIVERY_CREATE along with NUMBER_GET_NEXT function module.
See line number 631 to 656 of include LBBP_SIC_40F02 (Called from Line no 18 of BBP_INB_DELIVERY_CREATE) for more details.
While using the function module BBP_INB_DELIVERY_CREATE, material number is not passed to the function module (GN_DELIVERY_CREATE) structure field XKOMDLGN-MATNR.
