Activation Job running Forever

Dear HANA Development Team,
I created an Analytic view in the SAP HANA Sandbox system and the activation job is running for ever and the view is not getting activated.
Could you please help me in resolving the issue?
Thanks,
Goutham

i have same problem here. i tried
sql>DBMS_SCHEDULER.STOP_JOB ('REFRESHFROMMETALINK', TRUE);
where TRUE is FORCE STOP_JOB, but it doesn't seem to find the job class or job.
Perhaps the jobs scheduled by OEM are administered somewhere else.
Can anyone help with this ?

  • Active Users running forever

    Hi,
I am submitting Active Users job as I usually do for a sanity check and its running forever. Even when I increase memory_target to 40G from 5G. On R12.1.3 / 11gR2 solaris sparc. How do i diagnose and fix the issue short of a full clone from prod?
    Thanks

Was this working before? If yes, any changes been done recently?
Can you find any errors in the CM/Database log files?
Is the issue with Active Users concurrent program only? What about other seeded concurrent programs?
Do you have the statistics collected up to date?
Please enable trace and generate the tkprof file.
    Thanks,

  • Datawarehouse job run forever and powershell doesn't allow to enable

It seems that my datawarehouse jobs was running forever without any report producing. I check the jobs enabled and it tell "no" every job except MPSyncJob. Every job status is running as "running" or "not started". I tried to enable the datawarehouse jobs

I have a feeling that something needs an update and/or is mismatched but I don't know what or where to start.

  • Dbconsole job running forever

    Hi,
I have a job (refreshfrommetaling) running for almost a month now. The database and the oms have both been down in that time. After the bounce the job still had the status running. So I tried to stop the job and now the status is 'stopping' and it does not look like it's ever going to get stopped.
How can I get rid of this execution ?

  • SSIS Package stuck at validation phase in active batch and running forever.

    Hello Team -
There is a peculiar situation where an SSIS package has been running forever in active batch (cmd). It is stuck at validation phase . However upon restart it executes normally . The scenario occurs intermittently like once in a week or two. There is also
no blocking or locks on the server.
Please give your inputs. Have a nice day.
Happy to help! Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak. http://deepaksqlmsbusinessintelligence.blogspot.com/

But it does execute on a manual run from the job. I saw several other threads in a similar fashion , and there are solutions but those look inappropriate and temporary and do not deal with active batch ( dtexec) , looking for a standard and a permanant
solution and whether there are any service packs or patches? Its SSIS 2008 and AB8.
Happy to help! Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak. http://deepaksqlmsbusinessintelligence.blogspot.com/

  • ORA-20211: Active job does not exist, cannot link to job record.

Getting the above error while executing OWB mapping in production environment.

source database is accessed through a DB link.
    OWB version - 10.1.0.4.0
    Oracle - 9.2.0.6.0
Here mappings are getting executed by calling a pl/sql procedure. This pl/sql procedure is executed every day by scheduling a dbms_job. After the error, the job is in hanging.
Last week also the same error happened, on that occasion , restarted the database and re submitted the job. Mapping executed without any error.
    Looking for the expert comments

    Hi.
See Note:125860.1 in metalink (and please, lol to solution #3). It applies to older OWB versions though... Are you using DBMS_JOB or OEM to run these mappings? If so, then the metalink note might be useful help.
Karesz, I believe if the source database was down, it would fail with an ORA-12XXX Error.

  • A user is having trouble printing. Print jobs take FOREVER when they used to speed through

A user is having trouble printing. Print jobs take FOREVER when they used to speed through (despite linked images, etc)
These are just some notes from our troubleshooting:
User was trying to print out InDesign document however during the flattening phase, the computer would stall and would not print out the document.
The document does not print out using double sided or single sided.
The first time I went out, all I did was a system restore and uninstalled mcafee security plus because we're on a university network and sometimes the firewall blocks network printing, and that worked. She tried to print again later and it went back to taking 30 minutes for a print job of about 19 pages. These print jobs used to take about 5 minutes at the most to print entirely, but they queued up immediately, versus now, it takes about 5 minutes just to get to the printer.
Further troubleshooting that I did on a separate day:
Printer was printing fine in November - problem started at some point this month (December)
Printing is fine elsewhere, including in Adobe Acrobat
I was able to print one page just fine - it had no images (tried to print the same page later, took forever)
Some of the images are very large (100MB+) photoshop files (again, they were there before and it printed fine) - these images are linked (with no link errors)
She prints to a network printer, but there's no firewall on (again, printing is fine elsewhere)
She's essentially printing with the default settings, she just centers her print, instead of the default layout.
Now even printing with the default print set (not changing any print settings at all) doesn't work. Jobs take 30 minutes. I can't figure out if it's file specific or where the problem is. Since she has no custom settings, my next option is to just do an uninstall and reinstall, but I'm worried that the problem will still be there. I was starting to think that maybe the file is just so corrupted from all the force quits that that's causing the problem, but... I'm running out of solutions.
    Any help?

I have only worked doing layout for one business in my past. In that job our department would sometimes experience slowdown in printing from time to time. However, we began to see extreme slowdowns over a month period. It was finally tracked down to two things. One was something about the RAID array going bonkers. The other was some of the CAT cabling going bad. It only affected large print jobs and copying large files through the network. Even so, it was not 100% of the time. Sometimes things went along smoothly.
Point is, have your IT people been invited in to experience the issue and see if anything in the network is causing at least latency issues?
    Take care, Mike

Did you try to stop and start the runtime sevice by using stop_service.sql/start_service.sql from the <OWB_HOME>/owb/rtp/sql directory?
Also, you say that you cloned the database - are the database parameters different in the cloned database (db name, hostname, port, user name, password)? If yes, did you change the location registration parameters?

  • SQL Agent job running DTS package running in SQL 2005 is unable to run if job onwer is not logged onto server

I am currently working on a SQL Server upgrade project for a a client where I am converting old dts packages to SSIS. However for a few of the packages no conversion is allowed to be done. For these few packages I have to use dts legacy components in SQL
2005 on a windows 2003 server to run them.
These packages use CAPICOM via an Active X script in the package to envelope connection string data for security within the package. Consequently I have to register the capicom.dll for the job owner (which will execute the job via proxy) and install private
and public key files via internet explorer. I also do this when I am logged in with my account so i can test the package.
I have created a SQL Server Agent Job which is used to execute the package. We have a schedule account which is local admin on the server and sysadmin within SQL Server. This account is used to create a credential and then a proxy for the CmdExec subsystem
is then created based on this credential. A CmdExec job step is then added to the job. The directory of  cmd file which calls the dts package is then entered in the command window.
Finally a recurring schedule is added to execute the job every 5 minutes.
If i am logged in to the server using the scheduled account the schedule runs successfully. I am also able to run the command file manually by double clicking on it. The DTS package is run successfully. However once the schedule is set up and I log off the
machine and log onto my development machine with my normal account and fire up  SQL Server. I connect to that instance with the schedule and see that the job is failing with and Active X error in the package. From experience with this package this Active
X  error occurs when the user executing the package has not registered the capicom.dll. This has already been done for the scheduler account because the job runs when the scheduler account is logged in on the server.
It almost seems as though the job will only run if the Scheduler account is logged on. If i log directly on to the server with own user account I am able to manually execute the package via the cmd file which indicates that the capciom.dll is registered
under my account. Yet if I try an run the job in SQL Server when I am logged in under my account (using the scheduler account proxy) then the job fails.
Does anybody have any idea why this may be happening? Any ideas would be much appreciated

Run the job SSIS step under a proxy account that is derived from the domain account, non-expiring password and has been set to have all the necessary rights.
    How to is here: http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2163/running-a-ssis-package-from-sql-server-agent-using-a-proxy-account/

  • Background Job Running long time in Production system ???

    Hi guys,
I have custom report which runs normally in 20 minutes.  i am executing this report every day.  but when i execute the same report yesterday it took 5 hours.
i did the performance trace ....the sql statements are in acceptable range only. i don't see any major time consumption.
since it's in production system  we can't debug the active job....
can u guys, throw light on this issue.
Note : there are many posts related to this already in the forum, but not helps to resolve my issue.
    Regards
    Girish

    Giri,
You can use STAD (or older one SE30) to have a trace of the program if you have that access and will be a great help in finding the problem.
If you can't due to some reason, then next time job runs for long (while in ACTIVE state), check SM50 regularly to see that the is process hanging on a table fetch, check that any of the DB table is not getting frequent locks in SM12.
Also, you should check that if your job does any table update, is there any new index created in prod system for that table.
If you can't find anything, then take the necessary access in Prod from basis temporarily and debug the job to find exact issue.

  • Problem with Sales Order CIF IM-job running longer

We have CIF integratiom Model generation(RIMODGEN) and activation(RIMODAC2) jobs
    running everyday in sequence.
One of the jobs is for Sales Order Generation
and activation. The activation job used to take 30-40 seconds earlier(since last
1 year) but for the last month the job has been taking a lot of time to
complete. And that too intermittently. On some days the job completes in 30-40
seconds but on some it takes more than 3000 seconds(and still doesnt complete-
eventually we mark it successful manually to let successor jobs to start).
When we analysed the log for this job transfer in SLG1 we found out that
during activation of this Integration Model, not only Sales Orders pertaining to
new materials(that would have been added within the day between last IM
generation job and current IM generation job) were getting transferred. But
Sales orders pertaining to Materials(which have been active since a number of
days) were also getting transferred. Ideally, any changes/new Sales orders
pertaining to these older materials(which were already in an active integration
model) should have been transferred real time and should not have waited to be
transferred during the IM activation job.
We have also noticed that for
some Sales Olders(for which the materials were already active for long) and
there has been NO change in the Sales Orders are also getting transferred
    throguh our IM activation job.
The mesage that we see in the log for
these Sales Order is shown below:
    Source system:XXXXXX user: RSP100
    transaction CFM2 T_SLS 0001119 function module: /SAPAPO/CIF_XXXXX (As far as I
understand CFM2 T_SLS* prefix is for Sales Order transfer happen during IM
    activation job)
    "Customer Requirement N BM 0001223200 00010 0001: Method
    changed from N to G"
    "Customer Requirement 0001223200: Requirement adopted
    in APO"

Is the full name of the directory where you have your source code Documents and Settings as in Win2k or WinXP. In that case, move the source code to a different directory(you might like to create a separate directory). Note that the directory name should not have spaces in it. Try and see what you get.

  • How to suspend a single Active Job

    Hello,
I have started a transport and its background job is in released status. All the background jobs are in running status. I just want to suspend an active job and to transport the request and later i want to release that active job.
    With Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi
When you are doing a transport u have to stop the active jobs in SM37.After completing the transport you have to reschedule the jobs in SM37.
Before doing transport we have to schedule the down time and run the report BTCTRANS1 in SA38.
This report will hide the status of background jobs.
After completing the transporrt we have to run the BTCTRANS2 report it will start process of background jobs i.e released jobs come to ready state

  • SQL*Loader running forever

    Hello,
I am using Oracle 10.2.0.4 on RHEL 4u4. I am trying to load a table with data using "Load Data from User Files" in Enterprise Manager (SQL*Loader).
When I run the job, it just runs forever and never finishes. I am only trying to load about 6,400 rows, so I can't imagine it should take very long. I have created a .BAD file, a .DISCARD file, and a .LOG file, but all are empty. I have also been monitoring the alert log, but I don't see anything pertaining to the load in there either. Perhaps I have something incorrect in the control file??
Here's a sample of my data in the flat file:
    1*"LAURA,LORA,LAURIE,LAURI,LARA"*
    2*"SARA,SARAH"*
    3*"JENNIFER,JENN,JEN,JENNI,JENNY"*
And the control file generated by Enterprise Manager:
    LOAD DATA
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE NAMES.NAME_VARIANTS
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '*' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    COUNTER INTEGER EXTERNAL,
    VARIANT_TEXT CHAR
I am unsure how to troubleshoot this as I am getting nothing in either log file!
    Mimi

Update. I tried running the control file manually using sqlldr at the command line and it worked just fine. Not sure why scheduling the job through Enterprise Manager didn't work for me. Anyways, problem resolved!

  • Pause active job

    Hi Gurus.
Is it possible to pause an active job? Some of our jobs take a long time to run. We want to pause them to enable freeing the processes for some other jobs.
I know we can capture it, but that does not free the process which we want.
    Using CMS, is it possible?
    Thanks in adv.

Is it possible to pause an active job?
    The short answer is no.
The long answer is that active jobs could be either updating or deleting data and as such have locks on various tables. To be able to pause a job and free up the process there would have to be some way to remove those locks which wouldn't be such a good idea if you want to maintain consistent data. There is no mechanism in place to manage this.
