ActiveX image data wrong (perhaps binary)

I am using an ActiveX control that returns an image to me.
The event works, the image size & dpi is returned but the image
object is returned as a string of about 600 question marks, i.e.
Ive been told it could be binary data, (byte array?).
Any idea how to get this into an image in Director?
Thanks very much.

I was going to ask the same thing. Can you get the ActiveX to
work
elsewhere, like in VB?
You might have to write your own VB wrapper ActiveX for that
ActiveX, that
sets up the bytes of data you need and returns it in a format
Director
likes. Actually I see earlier in the thread it returns
unsigned bytes.
63 is actually the 64th item or 111111 binary so it's only
returning 6 bits
of the byte. FWIW
Also, 350 x 390 / 2 = 69225, but it seems like you should be
getting 138,450
separate bytes, so when Director is getting the data, it's
making pairs of
the bytes or something.
In Director, if you double click the activeX so it pops up
the list of
Methods, and you click on the one that returns the data you
need, it should
say the type of variable. Such as "returns a string". Does it
say byte, byte
array or anything besides string?

    Hi
PLEASE HELP, I want to Read Binary(Raw Image)data (16 bit integer) from a file and display on the JPanel or JFrame.

Hi, you'll need to use MemoryImageSource.
You read each RGB triple and add it to a pixel[].
    Heres the roughg idea.
    Hope that helps.

    int width,height;
    int[] pixels = new int[width*height];
    while(!fileDone)

  • I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.

  • What is the fastest way to record and write image data?

    Hello,
I am new to labview and am using the IMAQ software package to record and write data from a CCD camera to the hard drive. The end goal is a program that records and saves as much data as possible as quickly as possible, for experiments lasting on the scale of days. I have been experimenting with the snap, grab, and sequence methods of recording. To save the image data I was told by NI customer support that TDMS streaming would be the fastest method. I have also been experimenting with the TDMS VIs, however I have found the IMAQ Write File 2 VI to be faster in practice. Am I doing something wrong with the TDMS file structure? Is there a more efficient way to convert IMAQ image data to a dataform that can be written as TDMS? I am posting two of my programs to provide a clearer example of what I am trying to do. The first takes a snap of the image and appends it to a TDMS file. The second is the fastest I have found so far and uses Grab to record the images and the IMAQ Write File VI to save them.
    Thanks

    Hi
For me it is no surprise that the second VI is faster then the first one, the reason is you can not compare this two VI with each other.
In the first VI you work with TDMS files, in the second with png files. That would be much faster, because TDMS files need a lot of diskspace.
Second point, why do you open, write and close for eacht iteration of the for loop a TDMS file in your first VI? That need really a lot of resources, so it coudn´t be fats as well.
Save your converted pictures in one array, an after the acquisition you can save it in one TDMS file. When you need for each picture a TDMS file you have to know that this need some time to do this.
So now for the architecture of your first VI, please look to the LL Sequence.vifrom the examples (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\examples\IMAQ\IMAQ Low Level.llb\LL Sequence.vi), there you can see how an acquisition of a number of images have been to do.
When you like it really fast, you make a producer/consumer architecture (see examples in LabVIEW for that).
So in the first whileloop you acquire the images, write into a queue and in the second, parallel whileloop you read the queue and save the images. (see attachment)
    Hope that helps
    Kind regards

The program should be fixed to detect such errors and call
    ShowUsage. Maybe ask the author.

  • Using image data read out from a file

    Hi,
Having used the GetBitmapFromFileEx(), GetBitmapInfoEx() to acquire the necessary image data (most of them is the .png format), then using the FileToArray() to put the image data in my own binary file, e.g., "mypicture.dat". My idea is that whenever need to use the image, I can read out it from mypicture.dat and then display it on a pcture control.  But when loading the image data to the memory, I have no idea to map the image data buffer to an image resource, which can let to acquire a bitmap ID.  Because from the  cvi's image processing function lists, it seems that must through such as  the GetBitmapFromFileEx(), GetBitmapFromFile() to acquire the image data buffer and the bitmap ID, then using SetCtrlBitmap() to diplay it. Is there any way to resolve the problem? Thanks.
    David

Well, to read and write raw data file informations from a PNG image you must adhere to this standard. As a source of informations you may take a look to this Wikipedia page and to the links in this page from the PNG Home site.
So the problem is: does your application worth the effort to study this documentation?
Edit: FYI part of this job has been already made in CVI by Guillaume Dargaud for his ReadSavePNG instrument driver. It's been a long time since I have used this instrument, as I/O operations on PNG files have been integrated into CVI since release 8 and support for JPEG files in release 7 or so. Nevertheless I saw functions in that instrument for accessing raw data in a PNG file so you may find them useful for your needs.
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • SQLServer to oracle migration. Issue with table having image data.

    Hi,
I am using the SQL Developer version 1.5.0.53 Build MAIN-53.38. I am trying to migrate from sql server database to oracle. Sql server database version is 2005 and oracle database version is 10g (10.1.0.2 and 10.2.0.3). Both Oracle and Sql server databases are on windows-xp.

The error ORA-00600[kghasp1] refers to the problem with heap memory. I also restarted the database and tried the data migration for only this table but with the same error.
    I tried it on both 10g release1 and 10g release 2.
Can someone please help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Raghavendra

    Hi Raghavendra,
Are you saying the Microsoft SQL Server bcp dump of image data failed? It has been tested, it results in a hex dump rather than a binary dump, hence the clob to blob, and hextoraw workaround.
What are the version numbers and what is the reproducible test case?
    -Turloch
Note that the clob to blob process is automated:
Tools->preferences->Migration->Generation Options->General Options->Generate Stored Procedure for Migrate Blobs Offline
    From Help:
Generate Stored Procedure for Migrate Blobs Offline: Causes a stored procedure named CLOBtoBLOB_sqldeveloper (with execute access granted to public) to be created if the schema contains a BLOB (binary large object); this procedure is automatically called if you perform an offline capture. If this option is not checked, you will need to use the manual workaround described in Populating the Destination Database Using the Data Files. (After the offline capture, you can delete the CLOBtoBLOB_sqldeveloper procedure or remove execute access from public.)

  • How to export image data into XDP

    Hi, All
I'm working on a healthcare project that needs to export the doctor's signature image into XDP file from the database to fill in the Insurance company claim form. My question is how to export image data into a field node in the XDP file, we know the name of the image field which defined in the PDF form, Is it something like:
      the signature image data ?
Should the image data in this node be base64 encoded or text encoded or something else?
Can the image be any kind? e.g. BMP, PNG, JPEG, ..., etc?
    Thanks
    William

    Hi Andre,
Document will be of ASCII characters right?? but image data will be in binary format. as per database concept it is stored as binary large object. But in datawarehousing the back end is also going to be some database such as Oracle or other DBs.
which can take blob's. so it would be possible to store the binary data.
If any one has faced this situation can reply.to this ques.
can post the step to load image(jpg/bmp or any image format) data in to info cube??
hi andre if u have done loading image data as you say.pls reply me if you have the steps with you.

  • HELP! "Image Date" = "Created Date" + 12 hrs Why?

Over Christmas and New Year's Eve, I took a number of images with a Kodak C663 digital camera. I am quite pleased with the camera, however, when I import the images, some of the images have Image Dates 12 hours later than the creation date.
    i.e.
Image Date: 12/31/2006 12:15:50 AM MST (CA)
Created Date: 12/30/2006 12:15:50 PM MST (CA)
The error in the Image date does not occur on all images, and the date on the camera was not change during that period. Quite perplexing.
Is there a way to correct the actual Image Date so that I can have the correct information in Aperture. I understand Timeature will change the date in Aperture Database, but I do not want that. I want to correct the actual data in the image file.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    * BTW - I can easily correct the image date in iPhoto, and the change does seem to carry over when I import the iPhoto Rolls to Aperture. So, as a workaround, if the image date is know to be wrong, importing into iPhoto and then into Aperture, may be a kludgy way to correct an images date.

As mentioned, previously, I am going with the iPhoto re-dating ability to resolve problems with Creation date. It seems to be the most reliable as I can address each photo's time shift.

  • Extracting an image data merge field using only an indesign file and not document.dataMergeProperties.dataMergeFields

    Hi,
I have kind of a weird requirement but I hope you guys can help out.
I need to extract all the custom fields used in an indesign file without referencing the dataMergeProperties of a document. Sorry if this is a weird request it is just what I've been told (our system needs to not crash when people upload a variety of in design documents to generate high resolution jpg preview documents).
I can already get all the text custom fields by looking for "<<" and ">>" in the text frames of a document but I'm having a really hard time finding the image custom fields.
I tried looking at the rectangles for a given page but that didn't seem to help (but maybe i'm missing some there). I also tried looking at the graphics and images collection of a document but this seemed to return only graphics that are hard coded on the in design document and not the custom image fields.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Uggg....
Found the answer after I realized I was looking at the wrong SDK (5.0 instead of 6.0)
I'm using the doc.hyperlinkPageItemSources property to get these images. It also looks like you can get the image data merge fields from DataMergeImagePlaceholder (but rememeber I couldn't access this).

  • Image Date error on importing TIFF images from Disk

I have thousands of high quality (~100 Mb each) images in 20 folders on a 1 Tb hard drive. I have been using Bridge to manage the images, adding some metadata such as keywords and copyright data. I am considering importing all these images into Aperture and using it as the primary image management tool.
But I am concerned about an apparent bug in the way Aperture handles the "image date and time".
In Bridge (and GraphicConverter), the "image date" field is correct, directly from my CFV digital back on the camera and inline with the time of day the shot was taken (e.g. sunrise image at 6am). When I import the image into Aperture, the time gets shifted by 14 hours.
For example, an image in Bridge that correctly shows Date Created as 10/05/2009 7:36am gets distorted to 10/05/2009 9:36pm, exactly 14 hours later than the correct time. It was taken at 7:30 in the morning but, in Aperture, looks like it was taken in the late evening. It does not look like a time zone issue as the image was taken in the same time zone as my Mac Pro is set to.
I have tried deleting the masters and re-importing them with GMT +2 and GMT -12 in the two time zone adjustment fields. This gets the right time into the Image Date field but then the image has the wrong time zone data in the "Camera Time Zone" and "Picture Time Zone" fields.
I have tried running MetaData > Update Date and Time (with Master files ON) but it comes back with an error "no master files were adjusted ... because they have a format that does not permit modification".
I have tried running MetaData > Update Date and Time (with Master files OFF). It appears to work but I assume that the underlying file in the Aperture library still has the incorrect time.
Have others faced this problem? Is there a solution? Is it a known bug that Apple might fix one day?
    Regards
    Peter

I am seeing a very similar problem when importing TIFF files back to Aperture.
This is what I do and what I see:
    1. I import RAW images from my camera into Aperture. They show the correct date and time.
    2. I open an RAW image in Photoshop (CS4) directly from the finder. The image inside Photoshop (file/info) shows the correct date and time.
    3. After editing I save my image as 16bit TIFF and it still shows correct date and time.
    4. I import the new TIFF back into Aperture. The time is shifted back 15 hrs!
I can then go in and Metadata/Update Date and Time (no masters) and it works well, but it is a pain to do on each image I process.
In all cases camera and image timezone is set to US Pacific as it should be.
To me this seems like Aperture is somehow miss-interpreting the timezone when reimporting TIFFs.
I have not tried importing JPEGs or PSDs back but I will and will report back...
