HI,
With NewGL it is possible to allocate costs either using an assessment or distribution. You can go ahead and use it confidently and the transaction is mis-spelt in your post - FAGLGA31.
Why allocations are needed in FI?
Because the new GL now lets you model profit center accounting as well, allocations makes sense. For instance you want allocate overhead expenses from profit center (say dummy profit center) to other profit centers.
Refer to following page for more literature on the subject:

Hope this helps.

  • Actual distribution in New-GL

When executing actual distribution in New-GL using t-code FAGLG35,
System didnu2019t generate PCA document related to it.
So I transferred FI document related to it to PCA document using t-code
    1ke8.
How can I transfer FI data to PCA automatically when executing actual distribution?

    Hi,
Accounting (EC-PCA) is generally intended to track the profitability of busines units, and therefore, does not automatically include balance sheet accounts. There are, however, many reasons that companies may want to record certain balance sheet items at the profit center level. Our company does this to be able to calculate net investment (AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, etc) at the profit center level. Asset management has had a huge impact on our profitability, and being to track investment by profit center is part of that.
SAP provides a means for specifying balance sheet accounts to be tracked in PCA. This is done through customizing t-code: 3KEH - EC-PCA: Additional Balance Sheet and Profit + Loss Accounts.
3KEH allows you to set ranges of accounts to be tracked in PCA. This is generally set up during the implmentation of your SAP system, but you may find reasons to make modifications post go-live. If so, youu2019ll need to do this in your development system and transport it into production.
    Possible Reasons for Modifying 3KEH
Adding new accounts outside of the ranges established in 3KEH
Deciding post go-live to track an account in PCA
Changing the Default Profit Center on an Account (Default Cost Center can be changed on cost elements in t-code: KA02)
Discovering an account that was missed during implementation. Use t-code: KE5T to compare FI balances with PCA balances.
    Options for Adjusting Prior Balances
One of the big gotchas when bringing an existing account into PCA after it already has FI postings is that those postings do not automatically come over. Say youu2019ve discovered youu2019re out of balance between FI and PCA by using KE5T or some other reporting. You determine that it is a 3KEH problem, get your IT people to fix it in Dev and transport it forward. The errant account now shows up in PCA, but itu2019s still out in KE5T (PCA still shows a $0 balance). Thatu2019s because nothing happens with the old FI documents. Adding an account to PCA doesnu2019t automatically generate PCA documents for the missing FI docs, but that would be a neat trick!
    So, what are your options?
9KE0 is always an option. The trick here is that the you may have missing FI docs where half of the entry was captured by PCA, while the piece youu2019re trying to fix wasnu2019t. So, now you need to make a one-sided entry to get everything square. To make one-sided entries in 9KE0, you need a document type that allows this. Configuration for this can be accomplished using t-code: GCBX. Just create a new Doc. Type and set the Bal. Check = 2 (no balance check). Thanks to Marco Jordyu2019s excellent article at FICOExpert for this tip.
Use 1KE8 to transfer FI documents to PCA. Again, Marcou2019s article has an excellent write-up on using 1KE8. He suggests that you use FBL3N to determine which documents have been posted to FI for the account you are fixing. Copy those document numbers into the multiple selection for document numbers in 1KE8, using the magical Import from text file button and Copy from clipboard. The big things to watch out for is that youu2019ll want to uncheck the u201CCheck for existing recordsu201D option and check the u201CReversalu201D option. This will prevent SAP from skipping FI documents that already have corresponding PCA documents. It doesnu2019t care that only half of the FI doc is in the PCA doc. It would skip it. Checking the u201CReversalu201D option causes SAP to reverse the existing PCA documents (most likely having only one side of the original FI docs posted) and repost the FI doc, except this time with both sides of the entry.
    Final Words
This whole issue hopefully will be a rare occurance for you, but it can be a pain when it does. Particularly since you may have to wait for a fix in Dev and a transport. Itu2019s good to have a spreadsheet with your 3KEH table entries handy when youu2019re creating GL accounts. Just get your IT FICO team to send it over to help you hit those number ranges right.

  • Opening a new tab actually opens a new window

I updated Firefox to 29 a few hours ago, and it cause a lot of problems. I just rolled back to ffx 28, but it didn't resolve everything. One thing that happened is that when I open a new tab, at the top it looks like a second tab, but when you look down at the tool tray, you see that there are actually two ffx windows open. If you mouseover the ffx icon (I'm in Windows 7), the two windows pop up. This didn't happen 6 hours ago. It came with ffx 29, but didn't go away with downgrading to 28. This is really annoying. I'd prefer to have tabs grouped within windows. Mostly I have one window open with all my tabs in it, but other times I want to have several tabs in each of several different windows, because that organization works for me. How can I get rid of this?

Too many to list. I don't even remember all the problems I had to deal with. I spent ~3-4 hours trying to get ffx 29 the way I wanted, and half of the things suggested made problems worse or created new problems. The multiple tabs / windows thing was one; another was that I couldn't get the buttons I wanted arranged the way I wanted; another was that I couldn't get the addresses of hyperlinks I mousedover to show up in the status bar (or anywhere); another was that the statusbar itself disappeared w/ ffx 29 & uninstalling / reinstalling the Status-4-Evar extention didn't bring it back (I ultimately had to do the reset ffx trick & start everything over from scratch); another was that I couldn't get the "File Edit ..." to show up & stay (I learned that hitting F10 made it appear, but as soon as I did anything, it would disappear again). I honestly don't remember all of the problems I had, but I couldn't resolve them with several hours of Googling & frustration, and it seemed like everything was problematic. Thanks again.

  • FAGLGA35 - Actual Distribution in New General Ledger accounting

    Dears,
In transaction FAGLGA35, system gives below mentioned messages :-
    i) No valid sender entries were found. Message no. GA710.
    Diagnosis
The system did not find a valid sender for cycle 0LZAWL, segment AWL. The problem can be due to the following reasons:
Master data checking for cycle 0LZAWL, segment AWL, found no valid senders for this segment.
The senders are valid from a master data standpoint, but the system found no posted values or quantities in the database corresponding to your selection criteria. The sender and the segment will be processed only if the cycle works iteratively and at least one sender in another segment receives values which it can then allocate iteratively.
In cycles for indirect activity allocation, this message appears if segment AWL is to allocate posted sender activity quantities but the sender has been completely scheduled. Complete scheduling of posted activity quantities occurs, for example, if you use cycle AWL in a test run but already used it in a current real processing run in the system.
    System Response
The system cannot process the segment.
    Procedure
Check the definition of segment AWL in cycle 0LZAWL. In particular, check the validity of the sender master data for the settlement period.
To do so in cycle maintenance, choose "Formal check".
If segment AWL allocates posted values or quantities, the senders in the segment are valid only if:
The sender holds actually posted values/quantities not equal to 0
The cycle is iterative, and the sender receives values in another segment which it can then allocate iteratively.
If necessary, you must set the iteration indicator in cycle 0LZAWL.
In a cycle for indirect activity allocation, check whether the cycle is currently in use for posting in the system sender in segment AWL and thus completely schedules the senders in segment AWL.
If this is the case, cancel the cycle and repeat the cycle execution.
As per message solution, i do all the things but the same message comes.
ii) Cycle 0LZAWL, start date 20080401, does not include any senders.
    Message no. GA749
    Diagnosis
No senders were found for cycle 0LZAWL, starting date 20080401.
    System Response
It is no longer possible to create receivers and assign senders for the segment.
    Procedure
Check the definition of the cycle in the maintenance transaction for Actual Distribution: General Ledger. No valid sender cost centers could be found to match your selection.
If you use the sender rules "Posted amounts" or "Posted quantities", check whether records exist in the database for the criteria you entered (cost element, version...)
During indirect activity allocation with the sender rule "posted quantities", you should also note that only the difference between the planned/posted activity allocation and the scheduled activity quantity is allocated. If you entered activity types as sender, you should at this point also check the activity type category. For those quantities posted with an activity type of category 1 (manual entry, manual allocation) no indirect activity allocation is possible.
    1. If this is an allocation in the FI/FI-SL area, the problem could also be due to the inheritance logic for FI-SL totals tables, whose "Inheritance of sender based on the receiver" indicator is activated in the "Partner object update" view (T811U-INHERSRC). These are tables that were installed before Release 4.6A.
Use transaction GCA8 to check this, and see the section on:
    Inheritance Logic for Allocations
then correct the affected cycle, if required.
Is anybody have any solution. Please suggest it.
    Regards,
    Kalpik Shah

  • "more info" in Get Info showing "--" instead of actual infos for newer videos and images

I've just noticed that when I click on "Get Info" on my newer pictures and videos, the "more info" section is now showing "--" instead of the dimensions of the images and videos. However when I go to my older files, the info is showing. Also if I search any of the newer files (those with the missing info) in Spotlight, it doesn't show up.  I've done some research and some people suggest reindexing Spotlight, but that never worked for me. In fact, even if I exclude a folder in my Privacy list, it's still showing as a result when I search them. I'm sure this is a problem with Spotlight as it stores the dimensions info, but since reindexing it is not a solution, can it be solved in some other way?

It takes time on newer things, but might have to be opened first or something.
If you want, you can clear the caches with OnyX (#12) and that would rebuild and repair the entire sub-system.

  • I Actually Like My New Macbook Pro

While there has been a lot of negative posts about Apple's decisions regarding the new Macbook and Macbook Pro, I have to say that I love my new Macbook Pro. For some reason I can type faster on the new keyboard and I prefer the feel of the keys to the metal of my old Macbook. I installed Halo and it runs like a champ even on the lower graphic settings. The trackpad is different, but it is a natural transition and isn't as strange as I had imagined. The gloss screen is similar to other gloss screens. I think it is great for watching video, but I am not a professional photographer. All in all, it is a welcomed update. The macbook on the other hand wouldn't work due to the lack of firewire. Anyway, I thought I would contribute a positive note. BTW, the firewire 800 migration worked great.

I have to say I am also loving my new macbook pro. I had a white macbook for a year and a half and about 10 days ago, I upgraded to a macbook pro (previous generation) as I did not know there even was talk of new ones coming out. I then learned shortly after there was a new one coming out. So I had only had my old one for 10 days when they announced this tuesday, so I had the option of taking it back. I did, although I was unhappy I couldn't find a store around me that sold 1066 MHZ DDR3 yet, so I had to pay the 150 for apple to do it. I LOVE the build quality, the one piece construction is MUCH sturdier. I sometimes "one-hand" my macbook, and I always worried about stress on the old macbook/macbook pro when holding in one hand by the palm rest, with this one, it doesn't even creek or feel like it is being stressed. You can now buy the old gen macbook pro, new for 1599 on clearance, so I am not 100% sure its worth the 400, but I do love the chicklet keyboard over the macbook pro old-gen style. I had glossy on both the macbook and prev-macbook pro on it, I am a software developer (Windows Developer on my mac in parallels) and I dont know what the fuss about the glossy is, I stare at my computer 10 hours a day and I have no problems...im still out on the trackpad, new gestures are cool, but I have to get used to not resting my "clicking" finger on the keypad as it causes un-wanted gestures, but I am a "tap-to-click" type user anyways, so its not that bad. I also think the trackpad is a little less responsive than the old ones, especially with greasy or more-moist fingers. But my biggest dislike is the black-color, it seems it would have been just as easy to make it an "aluminum" color, it does cheapen the look a little.

  • Are BT actually taking any new orders for the old ...

I was talking to someone on another forum who said he thinks that Vision will be phased out and people moved over to youview.
I asked him why he thinks that and he said that when he tried to order, the only option he was given was a youview box.
So I thought I would try this myself. I went into MyBT and tried to add TV and he appears to be right. They only offered a youview box, there was no other option, unless I missed it.
Are new sales youview only now?

But if you don't have Infinity then there's no alternative when ordering online to taking Youview. I however wanted Vision+ in order that I get BT Sports 1 & 2 via DTT (not in an Infinity area)
I was advised in online chat with a rep on bt.com to do my phone and broadband order and then seperately order Vision+ over the phone once thats progressing.
I have done the phone & BB order and will be doing the TV order in the early part of next week.
I see. In that case I think you will need to try and order it over the phone and make things very clear to the BT sales rep why you specifically need the BT Viision+ box (for receiving the BT Sport channels over Freeview). Assuming they are happy to do that then they should sell you the necessary viewing card for £10 as well.
    See a similar discussion here.

I think BT are just keen to move people off the Freeview premium channels onto Infinity, so don't encourage it on the web site. Infinity and Youview is meant to be the BT platform of the future.
Let us know if you are successful.

  • "Reader" Actually Created a New Partition

An update failed--possibly because the last PDF I had been reading was on a Truecrypt volume. I got an error message to that effect.
I followed the instructions provided for the error message number--at which time a new partition, labeled "OS," appeared on my Windows 7, 64, disk.
I tried to remove the partition; it failed. How could the error message instructions have created a new "OS?" If it counts, the region is striped on the Windows Disk Management program. I don't know what to do.
    Thank you.

Thank you for the reply. When I rebooted the computer--I mean shut it down, and then booted "from scratch"--the partition was gone. I don't recall the four-digit code I got when Adobe Reader failed to update, only that it gave instructions to instruct the registry about how to update to a different drive (and this, because, apparently, I use Reader in PDFs on a Truecrypt volume).
I followed the instructions--in the Windows 7 Search bar, not in the registry itself, and--voila! Another volume or partition (beg pardon, I don't know the difference).
But it's gone now, and that's a good thing.

  • Can't see if Mail is actually searching for new messages

The old system had that little 'spinning wheel' that showed Mail was attempting to receive new messages. It was quite handy for knowing what the Mac was trying to do when I was having connection problems. Now it only shows up when sending. Always feels like a backward step when designers remove things like this. Or is there some way to get my wheel back?!

I have the arrow on the bottom left corner and it changes from up to down when I click on it, but the activity monitor never appears. Any ideas?
This happens on my MacBook but not my iMac. The iMac is working fine.
BTW, how the heck does the apple support forum know what computers AND accessories I have. That's scary.

Not. Firefox 30 is the latest release version on June 10th.

  • When will I ACTUALLY get my new phone

Ordered my iphone 6 on 10/2 with a ship date of 10/31. Never got any kind of notification that it wasn't going to ship until I got an email on the afternoon of 10/31. Now it supposedly will ship 11/10. Should I expect to get my phone before Christmas???

I ordered an iPhone 6 64gb on 10/1 ship date 10/31.  On 10/31 received email it will ship by 11/10.
Called 11/1 and they told me it will ship Mon 11/3 and on order status page it changed from pre-order to an order # but no tracking yet.  I believe it will ship on Mon 11/3 and should receive by Wed.  When I call automated voice says in process of shipping, they must have gotten some late shipment from Apple.
We shall see but very encouraged.

  • Roll back client to 0.8.5. until the new update actually works!!!

My idea is that Spotify roll back their client to 0.8.5. and withdraw the "horrible update" 0.8.8. until it is fully tested and working.

I agree here.  It's incredible how many customers are unhappy with this buggy new update, and that the devs would even bother making so many unwanted changes in the first place.  I'll give them credit for fixing the "keep playing tracks after an album has ended" issue in the past few days. Does anyone know of an idea for reverting to the non-web-based format that 0.8.5 had?  I'm surprised to be unable to find it by searching under "ideas," because it's made things about ten times slower than they were when Spotify ran more like an offline app without having to constantly load every page. I have a fairly new computer and am using FiOS, and it's still unacceptably slow.  Streaming is for convenience, and a web-based interface takes away much of that convenience.  Does anyone actually prefer the new web-based app design?  I can't imagine why, and it really boggles the mind that the devs won't just leave well enough alone instead of making things needlessly laggy. Anyway, if anyone can direct me to a thread asking for the non-web-based format to return, please link me to it.  I'd be very grateful.

  • Moving Data from old hard drive to new hard drive

I'm posting this question in this category , I hope it's the right place.  Here's my situation and general information. I have a Toshiba L35 S2161 laptop, it's about 5 yrs old, running WinXP Service Pack 3.   just got the blue screen, wouldn't boot, tried everything and I only have the factory provided "recovery" disc that will wipe my drive and lose all my data if I use it.  I hadn't been doing regular backups, so I want to save as much if not all of my data as I can.  I don't want to spend time here going over everything I've tried (boot disc like Knoppix, etc) which didn't work, just need to get to the bottom line and make sure I'm doing the next steps correctly.
    Here's my plan:
    l.  Remove old hard drive from laptop
    2.  purchase new hard drive  - I've been told any drive will work, it doesn't have to be designed for a Toshiba.  I've been looking at best prices, etc. mainly Western Digital.  I may purchase a larger drive to at least get more memory , although I really didn't have that much on my old drive, but had a lot of apparent memory-related problems, freezes, etc.
    3.  Install new blank drive into laptop, using the Toshiba factory recovery disc to reformat the disc and get it ready to receive the data.
    4.  Insert the recovery disc into the drive, turn on the computer and HOPE that it boots it up and installs a fresh install on the new drive.  Not sure what the screen willl show at this point - I've never installed a new drive in a laptop, so will be somewhat nervous at this point to see what happens.
    5.  Assuming the new drive is recognized by the recovery disc and installs a clean version of WIN XP (I'm assuming that's what's on the recovery disc that came with my computer, because it had WIN XP pre-installed), I will now be ready to transfer data from the old drive.
    6.  This is the step I'm not sure what or how to do next.  I would like to clone my entire old drive onto the new drive but I'm afraid if I do that it might load damaged files that would mess up my new install.  I purchased a disc enclosure with a USB cable (haven't received it yet), and was going to use that somehow.  I presume I will plug it in and it will show up as an external drive and I can access that drive and transfer my priority files or data first and then try to transfer as much more as I can....
I need further help and information about this last step...the critical data transfer method.  There are cloning kits that are plug and play and would transfer my entire system as it was before the blue screen, but again, I'm concerned about transferring everything onto a clean install and finding myself with a computer that won't boot again because it transferred a bad file.  Also, would it overwrite or interfere with the clean install on the new drive?   I'm stuck at this point....hopefully someone out there can walk me through this final step with the best option for transfer.  I'm trying to avoid purchasing pricey software like Acronis (which I looked at online and it seemed difficult to use, to figure out what to transfer).
My laptop is obviously out of warranty, being five years old, and I am not interested in taking it in to repair tech, I want to do this myself and I think I can with a few helpful tips.  Thanks for any help asap...

    Hi!
The error message I received on the blue screen was "unmountable boot volume" which leads me to believe i have a corrupted MBR.  This fiasco happened when I turned off my computer when it was running a program (I know, bad thing to do).
I'm waiting on a new hard drive with a 120 GB (my old drive was 80GB).  I was told not to go above 120 or I'd have partition problems.
The SATA drive enclosure powers up the old drive (I can hear the disc spinning) so the disc isn't dead.  If I''d have the full retail vesion of WinXP I would of course have used the recovery console, but I only had the toshiba recovery disc that came with my system.  Also, I couldn't burn a CD boot disc...didn't have access to another computer nor would a tech friend do it for me as he apparently made a disc for someone and their system crashed so I had no choice but to buy a new drive and try to transfer the data via the SATA external drive/usb cable.
My big question now is:  Will the Toshiba recovery disc actually reformat my new drive?  Someone on another forum with a Toshiba laptop had purchased a new drive, used the recovery disc and the cd just went into a constant loop and never went into a full install.  I'm thinking that maybe on a new drive there isn't enough knowledge base there for the recovery disc to install and reformat a new disc.  That would be a bummer because then I'd have no choice but to purchase a retail version of WinXP which I was hoping not to have to do.  Thats' getting into some $$ when added to all the other thing I've tried to get this laptop up and running .  (A Knoppix live CD boot disc didn't work either).
I don't know what service pack was on the old disc...possibly SP2, but if it was only SP1, I fear it's not going to have the ability to format a new disc.  The disc does have drivers, etc. but the question is, are they able to install the OS.  I was running XP3 when it crashed, so I know i would have to download that again.  I just want to get the darned system back up and running with my new drive and restore disc.  IF I can do that, then I'll try to transfer the data from the old drive via the external drive enclosure.
I also decided against the clone....I was afraid I'd be cloning a bad disc or errors onto a new drive, and didnt' want to stress a possibly wonky drive even more than it possibly is.
So, that's where I'm at now!  Thanks so much for any further insight into this....something tells me the recovery disc isn't going to format my new drive but fingers crossed...more thoughts/feedback appreciated!

  • How to connect old aiport express to my new Airport Extreme? My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured" and my AirPort tool on my PC will not permit me to add my new Airport Extreme network (no network names to choose from)

How to connect old aiport express to my new Airport Extreme?
I have a PC running with Win7 and just replaced my Jensen With a brand New Airport Extreme.
I have set up the Airport Extreme to the internet, Iphones and Ipads and it work as it should.
I have downloaded latest Version of Airport tool on my PC. In addition i have downloaded the airport tool for Ipad.
I have reset one of my airport Express and it now shows up both on the Ipad and on the PC airport tool.
My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured."
I have wired the airport Express to my Ethernet to be able to "see it" on my Airport tool.
My AirPort tool on the PC will not permit me to add the airport Express to my new Airport Extreme network (no network names on the drop-down list to choose from). I wished for an easy set-up, but nothing seems to be plug and play as the Commercial says.. can you please help me?
    Sigve

    Hi
    Thanks for Swift reply.
Yep - I in fact have two A1088 and one A1264
I actually bought the new router because the Jensen
router always lost connection to the Airport Express after some hours or days. I
always needed to restart my Jensen to play music and that was driving my wife
mad. The hope was that the Extreme should fix this. Both A1088 have been set up
to only stream music to two of my stereo amplifiers from my PC’s Itunes library.
    Are the A1088 now useless?
The A1264 has been set up to feed internet into a Denon Reciever that needed Ethernet cable.
    Please advise
