Actualizar bios u430 touch

• Boot issues after bios update (U430 touch)

Hi all,
I've been having some problems after updating my BIOS on my Ideapad U430 touch. After updating 7CCN34WW to 7CCN35WW, Windows 7 would not boot. It shows the usual 4 colors swirling to the center and then it stalls. Interestingly enough, at the top of the screen, white dotted lines appear (about 1 cm thick). These dotted lines alternate, turning off and on irregularely. I've waiting at least a half an hour, nothing happens.
Now I figured out how to solve this, which is by changing the boot settings in the bios to Legacy instead of UEFI. After changing it back to UEFI everything works again. But every other day or so it still hangs during UEFI and I have to change the bios settings back and forth to get into Windows. Can anyone enlighten me on this issue? It would seem the bios update is faulty? What's going on? Can I downgrade the bios?
In addition, the following topics are related but not quite the same as they don't describe the exact problem I have.

hi gannixon,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Yes it is possible that a UEFI / Secureboot check fails something in the  OS UEFI boot after the update.
The system does not support a backflash feature, Reflashing the BIOS might need to be done in Lenovo Service Depot,
If you don't have much data on the unit, I can suggest performing a one key Recovery while on a UEFI mode.
Downside will be Deletion of current files and documents and back up will be required.
Regards

• BIOS update 7ccn62ww fails on U430 Touch

I've downloaded the last 2 BIOS updates and neither is able to complete flashing the BIOS on my U430 Touch.
Most recently I tried 7ccn62ww. After rebooting to flash the BIOS, the update utility stops with the following messages:
>>> In the upper left on a black background:
LoadImage() Failed!  Access Denied
Error: Update BIOS Failed!
UnloadImage() Failed! Invalid Parameter
>>> And in a blue dialog box in the center of the screen:
InsydeH20 - Secure Flash
Error: Firmware update failed!!!
Please press any key to reset system. . . . . .

I haven't changeed any of the BIOS defaults.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I too was unable to update BIOS, so I disabled Secure Boot, update BIOS was successful. Went back into BIOS and now Secure Boot is Enabled but the Secure Boot Status is Disabled and grayed out/cannot change. What do I do to get Secure Boot Status to Enabled?

• DPC_WatchDog_Violation / u430 touch

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and am quite frustrated at the moment. My ideapad u430 touch was functioning more or less perfectly. For some reason I decided it was time to see if there were drivers that needed updating. I looked into it and ended up updated the graphics card driver, the audio driver and an updated BIOS driver.
Since doing the driver updates, my computer has been running into the following issue. When my computer goes into sleep mode and I try to recover it... it spazzes out and goes into a blue screen and gives me the DPC WatchDog Violation error message. Then the computer goes and resets itself.
Otherwise my ultrabook is working fine and dandy. I am just worried now I will have this error message forever and I dont want to do a complete system reboot or recovery as I obviously have documents and photos and all that.
DOES ANYONE HAVE WAYS TO FIX THIS ISSUE??? Lenovo wants me to pay $100 to fix it because my warranty doesnt cover "software" issues. I am just pissed that I did these updates in the first place. I didn't think updating suggested driver updates from the Lenovo or INTEL websites would cause blue screen errors.
Please Help!
Thanks,
Alex

Try doing a windows restore operation. Choose a date before you install the driver updates.

• Lenovo laptop u430 Touch - strange UEFI boot problem

Hello!! I'm Javier from Argentina. I'm having a strange boot problem with my Lenovo u430 Touch and Windows 8.1 x64 configured in UEFI.
When I power on o restart the laptop It gets stuck at lenovo logo screen and i have to press a key from the keyboard to continue booting on Windows 8.1 x64. This is really annoying.
No hdd activity.Trying to solve the problem I reset bios to default settings, I updated to last bios available and restored Windows 8.1 with OKR but i have no luck.
To solve this problem I configured the laptop to use legacy support, but I would that someone can help me to use again my laptop with UEFI bios settings.
Thanks, I will appreciate your help.Javier

• U430 Touch: wireless not working with windows 7

My friend bought a U430 Touch with Windows 8. He hated Win 8 so I helped him downgrade to Win 7. Now the wireless dowsn't work. Ethernet works fine and we are able to get on the internet, but wireless does not work at all. I've been to Lenovo's site and downloaded the drivers from their support site, but nothing weems to work. Is there a special driver I'm missing?

It's possible that they are shipping with Intel only at the moment, but the Hardware Maintenance Manual lists two non-Intel cards: a Liteon, and a "non-Intel", whatever that means.

• Keyboard Marks on Laptop Screen, Do I Need a Cover for my U430 Touch?

I was online recently and noticed some ultrabook users talking about how having their ultrabook in a bag with a lot of other things had pressed the keyboard of it against the screen, creating stain marks. I'm a bit concerned this might happen with my U430 Touch as I will be keeping textbooks in with it, however, they will be behind it, but will be seperated by a thin layer of the bag. Has anyone heard of this happening and should I invest in a keyboard cover sheet in order to prevent this?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I love the U430 Touch, GO LENOVO!!!

Hi DesertFox899,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
As per the issue you have provided if the laptop is pressurized in the bag and as it is a touch screen model there might be chances of keyboard marks, I would suggest you to use a keyboard protection to avoid the further damages.
Do post us back for further queries.

• U430 Touch and external monitors

Hi,
I am an absolute computer novice.
I have a new Lenovo U430 Touch laptop. I use it for traveling for work, but when at the office I would like to have bigger external monitors (preferrably 2).
What would be the best way to connect 2 external monitors to the U430 touch?
Thank you!

All I can think of is this if you want more than 1 monitor connected:
HDMI to 2 HDMI

Then 2 HDMI to 2 DVI
[img]http://img.misco.eu/Resources/images/Modules/InformationBlocks/1210/SRH/SRH-2/202509-startech-hdmi-d...
It's messy but I can't think of anything else that would work.

• U430 Touch with 2 external Monitors

Hi Folks, have recently purchased a u430 touch which I'm very happy with but want to run it with 2 external monitors. Any suggestions?
Both the monitors I have support HDMI and VGA. Will and HDMI splitter do the trick?
Thanks in advance. M

Hi Markhreilly,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are looking to connect 2 monitors to your Lenovo U430 laptop.
As per the specification of this model, it has only one HDMI out port as there is no VGA port. If the HDMI splitter has a VGA port then you can connect one to HDMI monitor and other to VGA monitor.
Click here for the specification of the model.
Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!
Best regards,

• Cursor disappears on new U430 Touch

I have a new U430 Touch, less than a week old. It frequently loses the cursor at startup/login. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad driver--no difference. To regain the cursor, I have to log off and back on, sometimes two or three times, or else restart. I see that others have had similar problems with other computers. Is there a real fix to this?

If your machine came with Elan touchpad, RMA it to get it changed to Synaptics as Elan's are crappy and known to cause problems. To determine if you have Elan or Synaptics, get to Device Manager, Mice and other pointing devices, click on the device there and check the manufacturer.

• U430 Touch doesn't detect second monitor

I recently got a U430 but, when I connect it to my Dell S2240L monitor using an HDMI cable, the U430 doesn't detect it.  I've tested the monitor and cable.  The display driver that came on the machine is from Intel (version 10.18.10.3379).  The supported display driver listed on the Lenovo site is also from Intel but for an earlier version (10.18.10.3277).  I've read a number of threads about a second monitor not being detected.  Hase anyone else seen this?

Hi,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that your U430 Touch Laptop is not connecting to the External Monitor, the issue should resolve if the latest display driver is installed in the computer, below are the link to automatically scan the computer and install the relevant driver from Intel and Nvidia:
Intel display driver auto detect
NVIDIA graphics driver auto detect
Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue persists

• U430 Touch Release Date in Greece

Hey guys!
I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right spot (I don't even know if there is a "right" spot) but after depleting all of other possible methods (like contacting Lenovo Greece and all its official retailers) I remained empty handed and a bit confused. Their replies to my request was that they didn't have a clue.
I just want to know if there's a plan of releasing U430 Touch in Greece any time soon. It's already available all across Europe (not to mention the US market) but it still shines through absence in Greece.
Thanks!

I would like to know this too.
This seems like a great high-end laptop and I would be very interested in seeing it in the Greece's market.

• Unresponsive Novo Menu When Ethernet Plugged In (u430 Touch)

Hello,
I have an interesting problem with my u430 Touch.  Recently I needed access to the boot menu, and I found that when I use the Novo button with an ethernet cable plugged in it will hang after a variable (but small) amount of time.
I tested this multiple times and found it only hangs when ethernet is plugged in.  Can someone else try this with their u430 Touch and see if they get the same results?  Perhaps this is a bug in the Novo menu.
- Jon

You cannot share an IP address amongst two devices without some intelligence on the device you're connecting to. You need load-balancing in there to do that properly.
Picture it this way:
Your MAC sends OUT information on it's highest priority port - in this case en0.
Your router responds to the IP address by using ARP (address resolution protocol) to resvolve the IP address to the interface's MAC address. My guess is the ARP table on your router shows that the IP address resolves to the MAC address of the wireless.
ARP is cached. If you cleared the cache on the router the Ethernet Port may respond to the ARP request and you'll get the routing that you want.
It's not really a workable solution in my opinion - sharing one IP amongst two distinct interfaces. ARP is going to get properly twisted.

• U430 touch - Bluetooth Connection regularly breaks down

All,
I have a U430 touch with Windows 8.1 64bit and work with a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse with Bluetooth connection.
The Bluetooth connection regularly breaks down and the Mouse stops working. The internal Pad is working properly.
In this situation I go to "PC Configuration" / "PC and Periherie" and click to "Bluetooth" (with the internal pad, because the mouse is not working ;-) )
The Bluetooth connection "heals" immediately and the Mouse starts working.
Unfortunately I have this behaviour every 5-10 Minutes and I do not see a clear pattern when it happened.
Does anyone have an idea, a solution for this? It is really annoying.
Please find enclosed the driver and Programs I have installed.
Thanks to all

• U430 Touch: Energy Manager kills Bluetooth

As soon as I install the Energy Manager, Bluetooth just fails to start. Bluetooth shows up in the Device Manager, but cannot be startet.
Tested with (latest) original Lenovo Drivers and Intel's Drivers.
Any Ideas? I need Bluetooth for my external Mouse.

I also installed the new version of the energy manager but it had not solved my bleutooth issue completly.
I solved the bleutooth challenge on the "Lenovo U430 touch" running Windows 8.1
by reinstalling the "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS-adapter".
With this driver "gawy08ww"  for Windows 8.1 from the lenovo website, WARNING  this driver is said (by lenovo)
not intended for the "Lenovo U430 touch" and therefore be sure to make a system restore point before taking any further actions. Also be aware I will not provide any further assistance and that following the installation steps in this "forum post" is completly at your own risk.
1) Make a complete system restore point ,to be assured that should something go wrong you can revert your system to a previous state.
2)Turn off Bluetooth by opening the charm bar on the right of the screen, then click "Settings"
then click "Change pc settings", and click on tab "PC and devices.
Now click on tab "Bluetooth" where you will find a "On OFF" slide. put this in the off position.
3) Now install the driver for Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS-adapter
by clicking on  "gawy08ww.exe" and follow the steps of the installer.
4) Reboot after installation
Good luck!
