AD connection and repository population

Ok, so I am a newbie to the SAP IDM space, but am well versed in LDAP and other IDM solutions. I need some help for the scenario we are working on Password change replication from AD to SAP systems.
AD has the
users and will be the source for passwords
SAP systems are existing
We do not use SAP
HCM, thus the user source is AD.
So, we started by setting up the SAP IDM on windows, with an Oracle DB.
We have a dispatcher, and it says its running
I setup a repository for AD
I tried setting up a couple of jobs to populate the repository, but dont get anything.
I assume I am missing something - i havent configured something.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jeremy
Start with the tutorials first.
Somewhere in your IdM Installation folder or your setup folder there's a Tutorial folder.
There's one tutorial for LDAP-Tasks which could help you.
Also there exist some installation-related PDFs that help you during initial configuration.
On the other hand you should install the "SAP Provisioning Framework" which contains Tasks for commonly used SAP-related systems (ABAP, Portal, LDAP, ADS and so on).
If you search service.sap.com there exist also 2 important PDFs about how to use the SAP Provisioning Framework and the expected system landscape ("Identity Management for SAP System Landscapes: Architectural Overview" & "Identity Management for SAP System Landscapes: Configuration Guide").
Hope I could help.
Regards
Michael

  • What is the recommended way of connecting to repository out of WebDAV, RMI, JNDI and JCA connector ?

What is the recommended way of connecting to repository out of WebDAV, RMI, JNDI, and JCA connector possibilities provided by CQ 5.5?

    Hi dp_adusumalli,
I recognized your list of ~8 questions you posted at around the same time, as I received that same list in our customer implementation from Arif A., from the India team, visiting San Jose. :-)
I provided him feedback for most of the questions, so please check back with Arif for that info.
For this particular question, can you provide specifics for the types of interactions you are interested in?
Understanding the kinds of things you need to achieve will help determine which of the CQ/CRX interfaces is best suited for the task(s).
I've collated a few points on this subject on this page:

  • BO4 - Changing name of existing connection on repository and impact on existing unx universes

    Hi,
If we have universes (unx ) which have connections and want to rename the connection,  I know we can change the name of the connection on the repository via the repository resources in the Information Design Tool.
I notice existing universes which use the connection still have the old name for their connection shortcut.
Is there a way to synchronise so that if change a name of universe connection the names of connection shortcust on existing universe connections are automticallly chnaged to reflect the new name?
    Thanks

    HI
Changing name of existing connection not impact on existing unx universe, if backed connection CUID not changes, I think you can rename the existing connection in CMC .
Before doing test with sample example.

  • Could not connect to repository (JDESSELocal)

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect to a Repository in ODI through SQL Server 2005 for JDBC driver and I get the error "Could not connect to repository". The database is an SQL Server 2005 installed by a E900 fat client package. See more detail below:
    Invalid Repository Connection:
oracle.odi.core.config.MasterRepositoryDriverClassNotFoundException: ODI was not able to load the jdbc driver class provided on MasterRepositoryDbInfo. Please check that the driver class name "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver" is correct and that this driver is available to ODI classloader.
Regarding the Repository Connection Information, I populated the following:
    Login Name: Test ODI
    User: SUPERVISOR
    Password: SUPERVISOR
User: OBIEE_ODI_REP (also tried with "sa")
    Password: E1admin
Driver List: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Driver for JDBC
    Driver Name: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    Url: jdbc.sqlserver://localhost\JDESSELocal\JDESSELocal:3372
When I click on Work Repository help, the mentioned error appears. Any clue ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Diego.

In SNP table, there are multiple entry for one row. like i have only one master but it gets two entry for it. I just delete one row and got suucess to login.
    Thanks

  • I tried to move my photos to MY PASSPORT and they populated all over my screen; I can't get rid of them.  HELP!

I tried to move my photos to MY PASSPORT and they populated all over my screen - I can't get rid of them.  HELP!

This problem sounds like a missed target and too many files: user meant to drag and drop files to the WD My Passport icon on the Desktop but dropped files on the Desktop instead. If so, there could be thousands of files on the Desktop; Finder is trying to create icons for every dropped file--and one day Finder might finish--but the Mac is essentially stuck till those files leave the Desktop.
Various solutions exist, with increasing levels of difficulty:
    1. In Finder, hit Cmd-N to open a "list" display window of the Desktop, then move files from this window to a new folder--or, as others advise, Cmd-drag files to the WD My Passport  (easy, but given the bogged-down system, probably not an option).
    2. From the Finder menu, Go > Desktop to get to a "list" display rather than an "icon" display window, followed by drag/drop clean-up to a new folder or Cmd-drag files to the WD (again, easy, but also perhaps not possible).
    3. Start in Safe Mode (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564) and then move the excess Desktop files to a new folder or Cmd-drag files to the WD. (Safe Mode loads only essential graphics routines, so the Finder may be more snappy even with an overloaded Desktop).
    4. Boot from the installation DVD and then navigate to the overloaded Desktop to move the photo files to a new folder or Cmd-drag to the WD.
    5. Use a second Mac to connect in Target Disk Mode (http://support.apple.com/kb/ph3838) to clean up the messy Desktop.
    6. Use Terminal and unix commands to clean the Desktop. Try the easy ways first.

    Hi all,
We are running PI 7.0 SP14 on a dual stack (ABAP & Java).  It was a fresh install on a brand new laptop.  We followed all the configuration and installation wizards.  When we go to the Integration Directory with PISUPER and click on "Configuration Wizard" under Tools, we receive the error "Cannot connect to Repository" with the following:

    Hi,
is your server newly installed? or was there any upgradation done to it? from the error details that you have posted your error is with the import of Basis components for adapters
Not found in adapter metadata for XI adapter; check whether SAP BASIS content for your release has been imported correctly.
Please ask your Basis team to check whether the import was successful or not....if not then ask them to reperform the action.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • MDM 7.1 : Not able to connect to repository

    Hello,
I am facing problem while connecting to repository via MDM Console.
    It gives below error.
    Repository connection failed.
Error : Access to syncronization data is locked for master repository.
Same error I am getting when I try to connect to newly created repository.
    Previously it was working fine.
Also when we mount MDM server in MDM console, if I put below entry in sqlnet.ora it will take long time to mount and will give different error when try to connect to repository.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)
But if I give below entry It will quickly mount the MDM server.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (None)
But as per I know all SAP installation suggest to put authentication type as NTS.
Please suggest here also, as if authentication type is placed as None then I will not be able to connect to sqlplus as sysdba.
My MDM server is MDM 7.1 and DB is Oracle 10.2.0.4
    Regards,
    Abhay

    Hi Abhay,
the error "Access to synchronization data is locked ..." means that there is something is going on on the server.
Somebody might be doing some lengthy operation, such as import or matching but most probably creating, mounting, deleting, unarchiving a repository.  Please determine what is happening on the server.

  • Unable to connect informatica repository on database

    Hi,
i am facing error that unable to connect informatica repository on database
    thanks

    Hi,
I am facing the same issue while connecting Informatica Repository to the database.
We have installed Informatica 9.0.1 on Linux 64 bit environment and installed Oracle client 11gR2.
Below are some of the detail to analyze the issue in detail:
    Informatica Useer : powercenter
    Oracle user: oracle
    [powercenter@sun2 ~]$ id
    uid=500(powercenter) gid=1000(oinstall) groups=501(oracle),1000(oinstall) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t
    [oracle@sun2 ~]$ id
    uid=501(oracle) gid=1000(oinstall) groups=1000(oinstall) context=root:system_r:unconfined_t:SystemLow-SystemHigh
    [powercenter@sun2 ~]$ cat .bash_profile
    # .bash_profile
    # Get the aliases and functions
    if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
    . ~/.bashrc
    fi
    # User specific environment and startup programs
    ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1
    export ORACLE_HOME
    TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
    export TNS_ADMIN
    PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:/opt/bin:$PATH
    export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Tnsping is working fine with the tnsentry given using Informatica user.
    [powercenter@sun2 ~]$ echo $TNS_ADMIN
    /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1/network/admin
In the Informatica log file we are getting below error message:
Database driver event...error occured loading library [libclntsh.10.1:cannot open shared object file....
I have a confusion here, we have installed Oracle 11g client then why Informatica is looking for 10g library file?
I checked and found there is no file in /usr/local/lib directory.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Error while connecting to Repository through Data Manager

    Hi Experts,
I am able to access MDM server through MDM Console, Here mainlyI got two errors.
Error 1:- I am not able to create new repository through Console.when I click on "create Repository" option in Console,it will try to connect DBMS server to create.at the same time I have given Database credentials. It was giving error like" Unable to connect to DBMS server".
Error 2:- I have some repositories in my MDM server.already one repository is running.I am trying to access the running repository in Data Manager as well in as Import Manager and Syndicator.at the same time I am not able to connect to repository giving error like "Repository not loaded".
Note: all the necessary ports are opened as per SAP standard.
Please help me regarding this.if anybody have idea about this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ravi.

    Hi Ravi,
       Steps to load a repository
       1) Load the MDM server
       2) Start MDM server
       3) There you will find list of repositorys
       4) If required login into the repository
This is the main step you got to perform to solve your second problem
       5) Right click the Repository and select 'Load Repository' and then 'Immediate'
This will load the repository and you can work on the repository from any where either IM,DM or syndicator.
For the first error check wether you have given the proper path for your DBMS server; if you give it right it wont give u any error. If its in local system then by default it be in the list. Else you got to provide the system name where the server is there.
In case of any othere issuse please let me know.

    What happens?

    Hello,
"Incorrect login information specified" means you may be providing incorrect login information :). Check your username, password, hostname, port and sid. Try connecting with the login details from command prompt n try again.
Observation: I think you are trying to create the repository in the "system" try creating a separate user and create your repository in that one, example "rep_user"

  • ODI agent and Repository

    Hi,
I would like to know what is exactly role of ODI agent and repository?
If i am creating a new ODI environment using OLD one having slight chages at Target Database can i use same Agent for both th repositories?
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

how would i create data servers and how can i use it?
In ODI terms data server is the connection to one or many data store present under a connection.
You need to create data server from Topology .
You need to create a physical data server where you need to provide the physical connection info .
You need to have a logical data serrver created which will connect to the physical dataserver via a given context .
