Adapter Modul "get User Authentication"

Hi,
we have an Adapter Modul in the SOAP Adapter.
We want to write the password in the Message Payload.
But the module writes only ******* in the payload.
Is there a security setting for that?
So that it is not possible to read the password from adapter?
regards,
robin

Hi,
Select The Message Security checkbox is communication channel.
In the Security Settings frame, you specify the following information:
Security Settings Defined by OASIS Web Service Security
If Web Services Security is selected in the Security Profile field for the communication channel used, you can make the some settings:

  • Redirect to the jsp page after user authenticated successfully  …

    Here is the requirement …
I’m using “JAAS – Custom Login Module” for user authentication.
I have few questions in Portal Logon process …
    1. Exactly at what point I can conclude that the user has been authenticated successfully, because I have to redirect the user to some other page for the first time logon to enter some information, subsequent logins shouldn’t be redirected. (I can update flag upon entering information).
    2. Where should I add my redirection code? Is it in my JASS Custom Login Module?
If yes, how can I do that ? I’m more consider on “where should I add it”?
    3. Do I need to change my “UmLogonPage.jsp” to complete my requirement?
    4. Once after entering the Logon information, who will call my JASS – Custom Login Module for authentication? If authentication has failed who will return the control back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”?
    5. In my JASS Custom Login Module, I have no redirections except having logic for authentication process, and some Login Exceptions are thrown for failure logins.
    6. Who will catch these exceptions for failure logins to redirect back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”.
    7. Finally I like to know where can I add my redirection logic once the user has been authenticated successfully?
    8. last but not least can any of the experts explain the whole login process (using JASS module)? How the control goes from one component to another?
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Points can be awarded for useful answers.
    Thanks

Thanks a lot for your valuable reply.
yes what you said was correct, storing information in R/3 System and getting the details from FM using Connector framework.
You said i have to modify "header.jsp", can you please tell which .par file should i get to modify?
one more question to you ... i have provide custom logon error messages to the user ... i did all the modification in logon.par and deployed in EP 6 .. working fine .. i can able to see "User ID Missing" , "Password Missing" etc ..
when i place same peace of code in EP 7 it always displaying "User Authentication failed". can u guess what whould be the problem?
    Thanks

  • User Authentication for subfolder not working in Web Browser

We are using Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3 and Database Server 10.2.0.5 for our application.
One of the functionalities of the Application is to send emails with attachments.
The logic is that the Application would generate the attachment file on the Application Server.
Then a database package uses Oracle's utl_http package/procedures(more specifically utl_http.request_pieces where the single argument is a URL) to pick up the file from the Application Server via URL, attach the file and send the email.
Exchange and Relay Server is also set in the Application.
The problem is that the folder containing the folder which stores the attachments is having user authentication set.
Example : The main folder is /apps/interface, this folder requires a valid user when it is accessed via URL on a web browser.
    Alias created in httpd.conf
    Alias /int-dir/ "/apps/interface/"
The folder /apps/interface/email/ is the folder where the attachment files are generated and stored.
    Application Server : 10.12.213.21
    Database Server : 10.12.213.22
    Email Server : 10.12.213.44
    Configuration as per httpd.conf
    Alias /int-dir/ "/apps/interface/"
    <Location /int-dir/>
    AuthName "Interface folder"
    AuthType Basic
    AuthUserFile "/u01/app/oracle/as10g/oasmid/Apache/Apache/conf/.htpasswd"
    require user scott
    </Location>
    <Location /int-dir/email>
    Options Indexes Multiviews IncludesNoExec
         Order deny,allow
         Deny from all
         Allow from 10.12.213.21
         Allow from 10.12.213.22
         Allow from 10.12.213.44
    </Location>
Using the above configuration the Application is able to attach the files and send the email, however, when we access the following URL :
http://10.12.213.21:7778/int-dir/ - it prompts for user authentication
However if we use the following URL :
http://10.12.213.21:7778/int-dir/email/ - it does not prompt for user authentication, and all the files in the folder are displayed in the browser.
I have tried so many things including AllowOverride, .htaccess, but i am not able to get user authentication for the email folder.
Please help me if you can.
    Thanking you in advance,
GLad to give any more information that i can.

Thanks for your response.  I fixed the problem by selecting "full site" or "full website" at bottom of the web page.  After making this selection the zoom function returned.  Thanks again for your interest.

  • Show repository gives "user authentication error"

    Hello
I am running ACS 5.4, When I try a "show repository <repository_name>" command I get "user authentication error" however I have admin status. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Can you share the show running-config from the ACS.
Just  to clarify, the admin role on the ACS is not important, the user that  you have mentioned in the repository configuration should be present on  the respective respository and the password should be correct.
    eg:
    repository ftp
    url ftp://1.1.1.1/
    user ed password plain ed
The user name ed should be there on the ftp server and the password should be correct.
nothing to do with the admin role on the ACS if that is what you meant.

  • User Authentication Fails,Unless Admin resets the pwd, user cannot logon.

    Hi
    I have a EP7 SP18 Portal .
The portal UME is Readonly Microsoft LDAP + UME Database.
I have a user named testuser which exists in Both the UME's.
the testuser of LDAP is locked through Portal User admin.
Now whenever the testuser tries to logon to portal,he gets User Authentication Failed message.
The failed logon  attempt info is not reflcted  in User Account details.when viewd through portal user admin.
if Administrator resets the Password of testuser in portal, then user is able to logon to the portal using this password.
    Next day,again same thing happens.
what can be the reason behind this ?

  • Configure User Authentication on SOAP Receiver Adapter

    Hi,
I am calling a WebService that is available over the internet.  We are on PI 7.1 and I am using a Soap Receiver Adapter.  The configuration was downloaded from SAP in a partner package.  The development in the package was done on XI3.
I need to call the WS with user authentication.  I've selected the "Configure User Authentication" radio button and entered the username and password.  The message fail with "HTTP 401 Unauthorized" and it is because the user details are not being send from the adapter.  If I copy the XML payload to a XML tool, like Stylus Studio, I can call the webservice successfully.  I've read through numerous blogs and messages on this Forum, including adding the adapter module (MessageTransformBean) and changing the Conversion Parameters without any luck.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks

I am calling a WebService that is available over the internet.
I copy the XML payload to a XML tool, like Stylus Studio, I can call the webservice successfully.
normally the webservices that we use (from internet) are freely available...meaning they dont require any username/ password.
if no credentials are required then do not select Configure User Authentication...uncheck it....if user-details are provided by the Webservice, then use these details (not your XI/ PI user details) in the channel.
Are you using any user-name/ password while testing from SOAP tools?

  • SOAP REC Adapter....Configure User Authentication

    Hi
I have a Receiver Soap Adapter parmater called "Configure User Authentication". If I check this option again we have two fileds which are to be filled with "User" and "passowrd". These user and password are used as authentication to access webservice. My webservice team claims XI is not sending those credentials to webservice during request. How can I check whether XI is sending the user and password information to webservice during requesst ??
    Regards

    Hi Kumar,
there is an option :Check OSS Note no 856597
Download the tcpgw.zip ...extract...open the aiitcpgw.jar file..and follow as expalined in the blog
    /people/varadharajan.krishnasamy/blog/2007/01/09/troubleshooting-soap-message--xi
you will get the xml payload and there you can check the username and password is passing into the webservice.

  • How to get user attributes from LDAP authenticator

I am using an LDAP authenticator and identity asserter to get user / group information.
I would like to access LDAP attributes for the user in my ADF Taskflow (Deployed into webcenter spaces).
Is there an available api to get all the user attributes through the established weblogic authenticator provider or do i have to directly connect to the LDAP server again?
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi Julián,
in fact, I've never worked with BSP iViews and so I don't know if there is a direct way to achieve what you want. Maybe you should ask within BSP forum...
A possibility would be to create a proxy iView around the BSP iView (in fact: before the BSP AppIntegrator component) which reads the user names and passes this as application params to the BSP component. But this is

    Medium
    Advanced

  • Using a different user(other than default PI user) with adapter module

    Hi,
We are having a custom adapter module built to interact with a Hardware Security Module(HSM). This custom adapter module by default uses a PI user configured in the system. However, we are not able to pass commands to HSM because of insufficient authorizations to this PI user. Now, we do not exactly know the permissions required for the user to access HSM. We have asked the HSM support team about the same. However, I wanted to explore the possibility of using a different PI user to work with the adapter module and eventually pass commands to HSM.
We have an admin user configured which has all the necessary authorizations. Is it possible to use this admin user created on PI system to work with adapter module so that it passes commands to HSM?
    Thanks,
    Ravi Desai

We have given the necessary authorizations to PI user.

  • Dummy XML not getting generated from empty file by J2EE adapter module

    Hi All,
i know when XI gets an empty input text file, it does not generate a send message for it in sender communication channel.

in the above methood, i  used file operations at start just to see whether the module is getting invoked or not...so when i give a data file, then the file operations are performed and messages are written in audit log.........but when i give an empty file, then the file operations are not performed - meaning the module is not getting invoked........

  • Get/set message Queue ID in PI 7.1 Adapter module

    Hello,
I have a special requirment to  get and set message Queue ID in PI 7.1 adapter module.
I tried to use the method setConversationID  for the Message Class, but this doest seem to available any more.
Any pointers to which class and method can be used.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Abhishek

Hi, try [setSequenceId|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/pi/pi711sp03/com/sap/engine/interfaces/messaging/api/Message.html#setSequenceId(java.lang.String)]. Maybe you have to use setDeliverySemantics before in order to set EOIO.
