Adapter Modules in PI 7.1 EAR/SDA?

Hi guys,
is it possible to deploy adapter modules in the 7.1 version in the same form as before? I mean EARs?

THere atre two ways we can delploy Adapter Module,Directly from NWDS,if you have acces to J2EE engine,this is the easy way,because you already have EAR files.
Second one is deploying in SDM ,i don think so you need to convert in to.sdm files, we can directly deploy EAR files in SDM.

We run under i5/OS (unix like) but I found my deployed Adapter Module under:
DX1 is the instance name.
sap.com is the vendor specified in the EJB module.
EOLConvertBean is my adapter module
/usr/sap/dx1/DVEBMGS70/j2ee/cluster/apps/sap.com/EOLConvertBeanEAR
/usr/sap/dx1/DVEBMGS70/j2ee/cluster/apps/sap.com/EOLConvertBeanEAR/EJBContainer/applicationjars/EOLConvertBean.jar

No SuchAgorithmException in Adapter Module configured EAR file

Dear All,
I have created an adapter module using 3DES encryption/decryption algorithm for File/FTP adapter configuration and have deployed it at J2EE server of respective XI system.
The alogorithm and adapter module are working fine in DEV & QA environments but in Mirror system(which is similar to Prod), I have been encountering Error:-
<i><b>java.security.NosuchAlgorithmException: Algorithm DESede not available</b></i>
Can you please suggest what could be issue here? Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Develop Adapter Module locally and deploy it later on the server

Dear friends,
Is it possible to develop Adapter Module for PI 7.11 locally using SAP NWDS on your local PC and when you are finished deploy the EAR files on the server using JSPM?

There are two ways in which u can deploy EAR files on PI server..
1) Deploy EAR file directly on PI server using NWDS.
or
2) Convert EAR into SDA file and then using JSPM deploy it on PI server..

Adapter Module Error in PI 7.1

Hi,
I have built an adapter module which has been successfully deployed on PI 7.1 using JSPM, but in communication channel monitoring it is giving below error.
Error: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of UserModuleTestEjb
In Module tab of communication channel I have passed Bean name, which works fine for other Adapter Module but strangely its not working for this one.
I have also passed JNDI name which is same as EJB bean name. I have tried several other combinations like below none is working.

Check if u have added correct references in application-j2ee-engine.xml file and if u are using external library it is there in SDA file.

Adapter Module Migration in PI 7.1

I have migrated some code for Adapter Module from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1. I have deployed the SDA file on the server and it was successful. But in the communication channel monitoring i am getting below exception.

Unable to deploy custom adapter module in PI 7.31

I created a custom adapter module to split some complex input files to multiple messages. We use a SAP PO 7.31 java-only installation. I followed this document to create my adapter module:

I know it is for PI 7.1 but a colleague of mine said that he was able to create a running adapter module for PI 7.3 following the guide. I created the following projects:
EAR project references the EJB project:

application-j2ee-engine.xml (in EAR project):
When I try to deploy my module, I get the following error:

I am not sure if the version is the problem. We have PI 7.31, support package 14, patch level 0 and NWDS 7.31 support package 12, patch level 4. The version of NWDS is lower than the version of the PI. According to Note 1599298 the error occurs when the NWDS is higher than the one of PI. Besides, we are able to deploy BPMN processes with the same NWDS to the same server.

Custom adapter module deployment in PI 7.1

We upgrade XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. However, I dont see SDM directory anymore which is what I had used to deploy my custom adapter module.
Is there a different way to deploy custom adapter module in 7.1? Is SDM discontinued?
When I try to deploy the ear file from NWDS directly I get deployment exception error
"Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !".
I have given the message server host and port correctly in preferences.
I am using NWDS 7 and JAVA SDK 1.4.2.15.
Is there a new procedure to deploy custom adapters in PI 7.1?

If you have NWDS , then you can directly deploy AM in PI server, if you are using eclipse to write code then genarate EAR file of your code, then you have to deploy in SDM using manual process.
SEARCH IN SDN like how to deplot AM's, you will find many documents.

Adapter module:: JAR file in the build path of EJB project

I have created one adapter module, for this I have created one EJB project and also associated one EAR project to that.
I have completed my coding and changes in the xml files.
I have followed this -

When I checked the EAR project I found under Deployment descriptor there is a folder called module and there is a jar file named as -
EJB<my ejb project name>.jar
when I am about to deploy this EAR in the server it is showing me to choose the file from EAR project and this EAR project contain the EJB Project .
Request you to please let me know is everything ok with my project ? or please let me know how can I see the ejb.jar file corresponding to the ejb project below the build path.

Issue in calling Adapter Module

Hi experts,
We have a File -
> IDoc scenario where the file has got fixed length data. The data is in the following format:
Header xdfsdfefefeswefr
Detail dfdkfereorierwer
Detail fdfkjwoeiefiwere
Detail
Trailer erererewoirwoiwe
We do not have any identifier to identify the header, detail and trailer record.
We have gone for custom java adapter module which inserts H, D, T as the first character of each line in the file to identify the Header, Detail and Trailer nodes.
We added a entry for calling the adapter module under the module tab in file sender communciation channel. The EAR for adapter module has been deployed successfully.
But we are unable to call the adapter module at runtime.
The channle log has no indication wrt to the module being called.
We are on SAP XI 3.0 SP17
If any one has faced a similar issue. Please respond and your help would be highly appreciated.

Hello,
Cross check the references which u have added under application-j2ee-engine.xml and ejb-jar.xml.
There used to be wiki on SDN, which provides troubleshooting steps for each error code, but i couldn't able to find that...u can also try searching the same.

Error in Adapter module on decentral Adapter engine

Hi,
I have configured a scenario file to file for picking a xml file and then converting it to corresponding edifact file,using an adapter module at the receiver side.The adapter module is getting executed but i am getting this error
Message processing failed. Cause: java.lang.ClassCastException: class Xml_To_Edi.XML2EdifactLocalHomeImpl0_0 can not be casted to ModuleLocalHome or SModuleLocalHome
Can you all tell what is this error and how to rectify it.

Hi Ujjawal,
Do the following steps...
1.created EJB of type StatelessSession Bean
2.Dont uncheck generate default interfaces
3. Fininsh.
Later in ejb-jar.xml file, modify Home,Remote,Local,LocalHome entries.

I refered a blog ,in that its given as:
You need references to connector.jar file which has the classes required at compile time and runtime
Compile time :
From the context menu of the EJB project , follow the path Properties -> Java Build Path -> Libraries.
Click on Add variable and select TSSAP_JAVAX_HOME and click on Extend and select connector.jar from the list displayed.
Run time :
Navigate to the application-j2ee-engine.xml in your EAR project.
Select References on the General tab and click on Add.
Select Select library/interface/service as shown in the snapshot and select j2eeca as in the next snapshot.

Seeburger Adapter Module Error

I have a scenario orders idoc to x12,I have done bic maaping & deployed sda file to SDM.And the paramater i have defined at the adapter module
bic mappingname

And the error i am getting is

J2EE adapter module not getting invoked by module processor

Hi All,
i have deployed my .ear file in SDM Repository successfully.
but my J2EE adapter module is not getting invoked by module processor......this i can say because i have written code to audit log my message in the java class...but when i gave input an empty file, the audit log of that file in Message Audit Log showed only 3 Steps of file converted to XML format, no data found so not generating message, deletion of my empty file.
Can anybody suggest how to enable my J2EE adapter module as i have created this module so that if i give empty file, then in the adapter i am creating a dummy XML for my message.

1. JNDI name in visual admin is CustomerMeter
2. the files in .ear file are:
libraries,
ejb project file,
META-INF folder
in ejb project file the following files are there:
ejb-j2ee-engine.xml
ejb-jar.xml
CustomerMeter.class

in audit log only 3 messages are coming: File converted to XML format, no data in document so not sending message, deleting of empty file.
i have given audit log statements in java class but my audit-log statements are not coming in the audit log
this means my adapter module is not getting invoked.
Please tell what to do to correct this error.
