Adapter to Proxy

Hi Experts,
   I have a scenario where I need to transfer a file using File adapter at source end and abap proxy at the receiver end. I have created a business service for source and business system for receiver. Also I have done my design in IR.
  Can any body tell me how I can configure the communication channel and other ID configurations that are required.
Thanks in Advance
JaiShankar.

  • RFC adapter vs Proxy? Kindly help!

    Hi experts,
          When to use RFC adapter and Proxy? Which is better and why?
    Kindly give examples.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi,
    RFCs-
    -Useful when it is already in place.
    -No effort required to recode in the ABAP proxy.
    -Overhead of function calls.
    Proxies-
    -Helpful when large volume of data is processing.
    - Need to code it .
    -Skillset and Effort is required.

  • Does XI Adapter (ABAP Proxy)  allows multiple LogOn Languages??

    Hi ALL,
      I have a doubt like whther we can give multiple logon languages in the XI Receiver Adapter ( ABAP Proxy ).
    For example,
      I am getting data in "English" - EN  , "Russian" - RU , "Japanese" - JA etc. Can I give these all languages as "LogOn Language" while configuring the XI receiver adapter? If so how? else, is there any other option for this.
    Thanks,
    Anudeep.

    hi,
    I don't think it's possible to precise dynamically the logon lanaguage which has to be used in the receiver XI adapter (proxy).
    [Help SAP on XI adapter|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/99/115281baba404890d2561617a78409/frameset.htm]
    Maybe a solution could be in the mapping to have a rule which determines the receiver (EN, RU,JA) that should receive a message or another one, and then for each receiver to specific a unique CC. So in your case to define three CC (one for each langauge): EN + RU + JA.
    Anyway I don't really understand the reason to manage that... The interest of logon language is when we want to write a text. But in SAP you can write a Japan text even if you are log-in in English by specifying the Language Code !
    So maybe the solution of your problem, is to send to your proxy the text but also the ISO language code linked to this text, so to do what SAP does in IDoc and BAPI.

  • PCK XI adapter - ABAP Proxy  to File Scenario How to?

    Hi there,
    We want to implement the following sceanrio; SAP ABAP outbound proxy to Flat-File scenario. A (sender) SAP system will trigger an outbound proxy which will send outbound data to a (receiver)file system via the PCK and Central Integration Server.
    SAP (ABAP proxy) -> PCK-> XI -> File System
    My question is; The PCK documentation suggests that the XI adapter included in the PCK can only be used to send/forward messages to the central integration server.
    Does that means that one cannot use the same XI adapter on the PCK to redirect ABAP proxy messages to the Integration server?
    Thanks,
    Roberto

    The PCK cannot be used as a replacement for XI Integration server. PCK is only a type of adapter engine that can run independantly. It is intended for partners who cannot use XI server. So PCK can not in itself execute interfaces. It can just forward all the messages received to the XI Integration server. PCK can only run your sender or receiver adapter all the mappings can only be executed on the integration server. So PCK just converts from the native format to XI format and forwards to the Integration Server.
    Hope that carifies your question .
    Thanks,
    Kalyan Musunuri

  • What is the Difference Between Adapter and Proxy

    Hi Master,
    I want to know the Difference Between Adapters and Proxies.
    And when we are using proxies and Adapters....
    Regards,
    SReddy

    Adapters are part of the Adapter Framework. Adapters provide the technical connectivity to enable the integration of SAP and non-SAP applications through XI’s Integration Engine.Again, Adapters are used for connectivity from and to external systems with XI that cannot communicate via proxies.Adapters are only required in SAP systems older than 6.20 and external systems.
    Systems based on 6.20or higher can communicate directly with proxies.
    The literal definition of a proxy is an object / process authorized to act for another; an agent or a substitute. In simpler terms, proxies in the XI context are objects used to encapsulate the creation (from a sender system) or parsing of XML (at a receiver system) as well as the communication with the relevant runtime components required to send or receive those messages.
    Proxies are generated from Message Interface in IR.
    The Proxy Runtime controls these objects / processes, and can itself be controlled by the applications it communicates with. The Proxy Runtime currently has the following components available: 1. ABAP Proxy Runtime – Communication using XI or Web Services a. Web Service Runtime 2. Java Proxy Runtime – Communication using XI (J2EE) The objects that the Proxy Runtime then controls are created via Proxy Generation, for both ABAP and Java. In the following sections a ‘client’ proxy is used by an application to send messages outside of the system it resides in (normally to the IS in this context). Conversely, a ‘server’ proxy is used by an application to receive messages from sources outside itself (again, normally the IS in this context).

  • How to use the option "Use FTP Proxy" within file adapter for FTP-Proxy

    Hello there,
    I'm currently dealing with a problem regarding PI 7.40 file adapter and our proxy server. We have installed our pi system within our LAN behind two DMZ's. So we need to use the ftp-proxy function. But when I try to send a file useing this communication channel I'll geht the following error:
    If have asked my system colleagues and they told me to use the ftp-proxy string as used in filezilla:
    Is there anyway to use this type of ftp-proxy string within the pi configuration:

  • Error in receiver SAP system , while reading the xml received over Proxy

    Hi,
    I am having one FTP to Proxy scenario, receiving complex XML file at FTP and have to pass this exact file to proxy in a single field.
    As no mapping is required, created a data type with single node and both sender and receiver end.
    After executing scenario, Data is displayed properly in PI moni, but when the file is received at SAP end, its giving error in SAP system moni that
    "Error during XML => ABAP conversion".
    The same scenario, when we are executing using SOAP or Mail sender adapter and proxy receiver, the interface is working fine at both ends.In SOAP and mail scenario, they are sending XML data enclosed in SOAP envelope.
    but when the data is received at PI, the SOAP envelope is removed, and CDATA is being read by PI, and interface working fine.
    Please provide your inputs in case of FTP sender.
    Thanks,
    Ruchi

    Hi Ganesh,
    Thanks for your response.
    SOAP and Mail scenario are also using the same inbound proxy structure , and the proxy is working fine in both cases.
    For FTP scenario we are reusing the same inbound proxy but we are facing error .
    SAP is getting
    "XML to ABAP Conversion error with error id as "CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT " System expected the element 'Namespace of the inbound service interface' .
    Please guide.

  • Receiver server definition for file adapter

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a scenario where the data from SAP system goes to XI through ABAP proxy and has to write the data in the file.
    My Question...
    In the Integration directory my sender system is ABAP Proxy and receiver system is File adapter.
    When I try to create a distribution channel of type XI adapter, I cannot select it as sender. By default it comes as receiver. How Do I go about doin this scenario.
    Also, since I have to write to a file, it is my receiver(outbound adapter). Please can anyone tell me what would be the service definition for this as I am writing to a directory!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
    That is what I have done.
    XI Adapter(ABAP Proxy) is my sender system.
    File adapter is my receiver adapter.
    But I am unable to make a distribution channel with XI adapter as sender. The radiobutton of receiver is only active and I am unable to select the sender radio-button. Is this some sort of error.
    Actually when I select XI, HTTP, IDOC and RFC adapter in communication channel, the receiver radiobuttion is selected by default and I am unable to select on sender radiobutton.
    Have we missed out on any configuration?
    thanks in advance

  • Use of XI adapter in ABAP proxies

    Hey Guys
    i was going through some blogs and came across that we need XI adapter for ABAP proxies,i had thought that proxies are used for adapterless communication,then why is the need for XI adapter?i know XI adapter is used to transfer XML messages to/from sender/receiver system.
    also do we always need to use XI adapter for proxy communication?
    thanx
    ahmad

    Hi,
    The use of adapter here is to communicate the Integration Server with respective ApplcatioN System. ie, R.3 or any SAP system which is configured as an Application System to the XI.
    Proxies communicate with the XI server by means of native SOAP calls over HTTP . SO you need to mention the integration server to point/connect to correct application system during runtime.

  • ABAP proxy code using internal table

    Hi XI guru's,
    Good Afternoon,
    My Scenario is ABAP Proxy to file using ztable.
    i am getting data from Sap R/3 data base as Ztable. using this Ztable i have to write ABAP Proxy code. I generated ABAP Proxy and mentioned all below.Please send me ABAP Proxy code using this details. This is very urgent. Please help me.
    ABAP proxy class:   zco_mioa_tata
    structure              :   zmt_tata
    structure                :   zdt_tata
    structure                :   zdt_tata_employee
    Table                :   zdt_tata_employee_tab
    Ztable                :   zcnu_proxy_table
    outbound structure:
    mt_tata
        employee
    thanks and regards
    sai

    Sai,
    I guess this will help you.
    1. Proxies can be a server proxy or client proxy. In our scenarios we require proxies to send or upload the data from/into SAP system.
    2. One more thing proxies can be used if your WAS ≥ 6.2.
    3. Use Tcode SPROXY into R/3 system for proxy use.
    4. To send the data from R/3 system we use OUTBOUND PROXY. In Outbound proxy you will simply write an abap code to fetch the data from R/3 tables and then send it to XI. Below is the sample code to send the data from R/3 to XI.
    REPORT zblog_abap_proxy.
    DATA prxy TYPE REF TO zblogco_proxy_interface_ob.
    CREATE OBJECT prxy.
    DATA it TYPE zblogemp_profile_msg.
    TRY.
    it-emp_profile_msg-emp_name = 'Sarvesh'.
    it-emp_profile_msg-empno = '01212'.
    it-emp_profile_msg-DEPARTMENT_NAME = 'NetWeaver'.
    CALL METHOD prxy->execute_asynchronous
    EXPORTING
    output = it.
    commit work.
    CATCH cx_ai_system_fault .
    DATA fault TYPE REF TO cx_ai_system_fault .
    CREATE OBJECT fault.
    WRITE :/ fault->errortext.
    ENDTRY.
    Receiver adapter configurations should be done in the integration directory and the necessary sender/receiver binding should be appropriately configured. We need not do any sender adapter configurations as we are using proxies.
    5. To receive data into R/3 system we use INBOUND PROXY. In this case data is picked up by XI and send it to R/3 system via XI adapter into proxy class. Inside the inbound proxy we careate an internal table to take the data from XI and then simply by using the ABAP code we update the data inot R/3 table. BAPI can also be used inside the proxy to update the data into r/3.
    I hope this will clear few doubts in proxy.

    Hi experts,
    My scenario is synchronous abap proxy to sysnchronous soap. for proxy I am using business system name as ERDCLNT220 and soap business system name as BS_HRS_DEV

    Your exception message shows problem at the webservice side.
    Check the following:
    a) you need two mappings one for proxy req to soap request and other soap response to proxy response
    b) You need to create service interfaces both sender and receiver synchronous .
    c) communication channel  QOS is best effort for both sender and receiver
    d) I dont see problem in soap configuration. Bcuz you are able to ping and while getting response from the method getPerson it fails.
    f) See your SOAP response structure matches with WSDL provided.
    g) You can also test outside PI.. I meant testing via soap client tool like SOAPUI  for that web service. So that you know whether problem exists on the target system or not.
    Hope that helps.

  • Async Sync Bridge without BPM (Proxy-Soap-Idoc)

    Hi,
    I have read some blogs how to do the Async Sync Bridge without BPM for JMS adapters. I have a requirement that I am getting a Async Proxy message to PI and then PI makes Sync Soap call then the result need to send through the Idoc adapter.
    Proxy - Soap- Idoc
    Here Proxy is a sender so no adapter required in the Config and also Soap is java based adapter and Idoc adapter is a ABAP based so I am not sure this is possible but I just wanted to check with you.
    Please let know if this is possible or not?
    PI 7.1 with EHP1

    The mapping programm can be defined as a user defined function. As sample of mine is "getGoogle()", which is doing some kind of address validation. The input parameter URL[0] contains source address. For that you need to import:
    org.apache.commons.logging.*;
    org.w3c.dom.*;
    javax.xml.parsers.*;
    org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    org.apache.commons.httpclient.*;
    org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.*;
    org.apache.commons.codec.*;
    org.apache.log4j.*;
    Example code for UDF "getGoogle()" is:
    String sUrl = "http://maps.google.de/maps/api/geocode/xml?address=" + URL[0] + "&sensor=false";
    HttpClient client = new HttpClient();
    GetMethod method = new GetMethod(sUrl);
    byte[] responseBody = null;
        try {
    //      int statusCode = client.executeMethod(method);
    //      byte[] responseBody = method.getResponseBody();
    //     result.addValue(new String(responseBody));
    String sResponse = "initial";
    int statusCode = client.executeMethod(method);
    responseBody = method.getResponseBody();
    ByteArrayInputStream bis = new ByteArrayInputStream(responseBody);
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder db = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document doc = db.parse(bis);
    doc.getDocumentElement().normalize();
    NodeList nodeLst = doc.getElementsByTagName("formatted_address");
    Node formAdr = nodeLst.item(0);
    NodeList nlFormAdr = formAdr.getChildNodes();
    sResponse = ((Node) nlFormAdr.item(0)).getNodeValue();
          // Deal with the response.
        result.addValue(sResponse);
        } catch (Exception e) {
          result.addValue(e.toString() + "######## exhrenda - googleResponse:############### URL=" + sUrl+"###########"+new String(responseBody));
        } finally {
          // Release the connection.
          method.releaseConnection();

  • Handling Application Error in Provider Proxy

    Hi
    My Asynchronous scenario is as following -->
    File --> Sndr File Adapter --> PI --> Rec XI Adapter --> Provider Proxy
    In this I am using Fault Message Types to handle any application error like u201CEmployee Number does not existu201D or u201CEmployee Number not providedu201D.
    Now when this error will happen I will see checked flag in PI --> SXMB_MONI but I can view these errors in R3 --> SXMB_MONI. I would like to send the Mail of these errors to support group when this happened or would like to create file with these error at some location.
    Do I need to use BPM in order to achieve this?
    Now what is the best approach to do this:
    u2022     Should I ask ABAP programmer to generate the mail with these error.
    u2022     Can I associate these errors with Alert Management? If yes, then how.
    Pls. let me know if you have handled the Application errors in your scenario (Async Inbound Proxy) using some other method .
    Regards
    Lalit

    you can trigger alert from ABAP program using FM "SALRT_CREATE_API" for these errors
