Add a new row in Detail form in MASTER DETAIL FORM

Hello Everyone,
I need help on the following.I have master detail form .In detail form i have Add Row button which adds a new row and i have save button to save the record .But now if i am adding a row its not adding a new row .It says it process but didn't show the new row .
Can somebody help me on this

Hello,
How many records do you show in your detaii region and how many are there for that master? Maybe the new row is in the next set of records - or at the 'bottom' of the last set of records?
Did you check if the row is inserted in the database (and just didn't show up for one reason or another)?

This will depend on two things:
1. sorting of the columns - needs to be a some kind of a descending sorting on a hidden column, enabled within the Report Attributes and not in the SQL Query
2. Report Attributes => Layout and Pagination => Sort Nulls First
You will need to play with those settings a bit. One thing to consider is that you should sort your report on a hidden column and you shuldn't enable the sorting on visible columns, because it will mess up your row positioning.

How do I add a new row to an AbstractTableModel?

I'm having an issue with adding new data to a table row. Every row I add contains the same data which is always the last data I grabbed from my database. I'm not sure if my issue has to do with how I set up the data to be passed or the table itself or both... Any help would be appreciated. It seems like the tablemodel is holding the memory spot ArrayList I'm passing. If I have to set up an arraylist of arraylists, to pass how do I do that?
My output is always:

i am adding row programetically, my requirement need to add the row at after last row.
i tried different ways.

Add a new row at the top of a table in GUI

Hi,
I am using JDev 11.1.1.1.0. I need to be able to let users add a new row at the top of a table and not anywhere else in the middle of table rows. I cannot seem to find a way to do it. note that it does not matter where a new row gets inserted in the db, i am only concerned about restricting the insert in the GUI to the topmost line/row.

Make detail items in master/detail form read only

I want to make detail items in master/detail form read only for certain conditions (master STATUS = Closed). I see how to do this on the master record items but not on detail items.

You will need to modify the code, but it should help since a master detail is just a standard form with a tabular form attached to it..

BC4J - To get the detail of details in a Master-Detail relationship

Hi,
I am developing an application in JDev using Buss Components for Java.
I need to show the details from the details in a Master-Detail relationship of ViewLink Objects.
e.g I am browsing through a list of book publishers, if I pick one book publisher, all the books published by this publisher should be displayed. And when I pick one book out of these, the list of buyers should appear for this book.
Is it possible to do it via the wizards in JDev?
If not, is their any other way of doing it?

Sure. Arbitrary levels of master/detail are easy to handle. It's just the first time you set it up in the "Data Model" panel of your Application Module, the UI gestures may not be the most obvious.
Depending on whether you need to just browse the data, or both browse and update it, you would decide whether or not you need underlying Entity Objects for Publisher, Book, and Buyer.
To keep it simple, just assume you want to browse so the Entity Objects are not required to be involved.
You would develop three View Objects:

[*]Publishers - with a query like SELECT publisher_name, publisher_id FROM PUBLISHER ORDER BY publisher_name
[*]Books - with a query like SELECT title, isbn FROM book ORDER BY Title
[*]Buyers - with a query like SELECT name, company FROM buyer ORDER BY company, name

Then, you define two View Links:

[*]BooksFromPublisher - linking the Publishers view to the Books view, and
[*]BuyersForBook - linking the Books view to the Buyers view

Then, you define an Application Module that sets up the data model you want to work with in a particular application that reuses these reusable view object and view link components.
On the "Data Model" tab, you'll see the master/detail views available in the "Available" list like this:

Add a new Row in detail form

Hello Everyone ,
I have add row Botton on details form to add row and save button to save data .
When I clicking to add row its creating new row but as i am saving it it says 1 row inserted but when i am accessing the same data the new added row was not showing there .
I am not getting any error .I have master detail form

I'm having the same issue.
However, I've noticed that the ROW in question is getting added to the database, but it's not populating the KEY column that links the sub table.
MASTER TABLE
MK_ID number
MK NAME varchar
SUB TABLE
SK_ID number
MK_ID number (should link to above)
SK_NAME varchar
I get the message that the row has been added in APEX, but then nothing shows on the web form.
Doing a quick query of the Sub Table, I can see the row (minus the Master Table key).
MASTER TABLE
MK_ID = 1
MK_NAME = KEN
SUB TABEL
SK_ID = 3
MK_ID is NULL !!
SK_NAME CHILD1
It "ALMOST" works.
I used the wizard to create this, and did NOT modify anything, so I assume this should be an open bug, and people shouldn't use it.

Field values erases when Add Row button is pressed in Master Detail Form

Hi,
I am using APEX 4.0. There is a master-detail form in a page, this has 5 rows in it by default, has a Add row and a Delete button. I face two problems now:
1. When the values are entered in all the 5 rows, that are in default, and Add Row button is clicked, these values are entered in the DB, but they are erased from the interface. Means when user clicks Add row he don't see the old values he has entered. All new empty rows are only seen. This might confuse the user. How can I resolve this.
2. The values are saved to the DB only when the Add row button is clicked, so suppose if the user enters some wrong values in the default rows and after he clicks Delete button, all the field values are erased. Is there a way to delete only that particular row? (Please note: the values are not saved to the DB, unless the Add Row button is clicked)
Please let me know how to resolve these 2 issues.

You enter information into a tabular form and then click the add row and the data is being duplicated from the prior row or being inserted into the table ?

Can't add new detail record in Master Detail form

Hi ,
I've created a simple database application from scratch by initially selecting a Master Detail page. This generated a report page (for the parent ) and a form page (for the child ). On using the form to add a new child record the following error was generated:
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("STUDENT1"."DELEGATE"."DELEGATE_ID"), insert into "STUDENT1"."DELEGATE" ( "DELEGATE_ID", "CLIENT_ID", "SURNAME", "INITIALS", "SEX", "SPECIAL_NEEDS") values ( :b1, :b2, :b3, :b4, :b5, :b6)
Error Unable to process update.
The 'child' field listed in the error message is automatically hidden on the form and I had presumed that on generating this form using the wizard that I would have had an opportunity to link the delegate_id field to a trigger or a sequence as seems to happen when creating a database application scratch using other page types. I'm new to Apex so I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know as to why this default behaviour occurs,

I tried it for Apex 4.0.2 (my version) and 4.1 (on apex.oracle.com) and I am asked for master and detail PK generation in both versions.
What are your steps exactly in the wizard? Like this?
Create page -> Form -> Master Detail Form
Now you see a whole list of sub steps including "Primary Key Source".
Oh I see "Create Application wizard." in your post. Start with an empty application (blank page) and use the Create Page wizard instead. Maybe that's the difference.

But here is my problem how can i align Title(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) center of pdf report with image named:logo5.png immediately coming to it's right?.
As the problem i am facing is my title or Header(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) is at top of my image named:logo5.png and not coming to it's center position of my image.
Second the problem i am facing is how to add new entire row to top of existing table in pdf report from c# windows form using iTextSharp?.

I’m sorry for the issue that you are hitting now.
This itextsharp is third party control, for this issue, I recommended to consult the control provider directly, I think they can give more precise troubleshooting.

After entering the master record, I need the detail rows to be populated with the survey questions stored in another table. The respondent will then update the response for each row in the detail form. Only after all the responses are filled out, clicking the save button should the detail records be committed.
Is there a good way to achieve this.

Our region to populate the tabular form has the tabular form fields defined as Display As Text (saves state). Non-enterable fields are defined as "Display as Text (saves state)". A tabular form results from these definitions.
Because Apex won't generate code to handle multipe row tabluar form inserts we wrote our own as an After Submit PL/SQL process, something like

end; --pl/sql blockI had to get the identities of the f01, f02 etc. identifiers by looking at the HTML code in the rendered form because Apex assigns those values as it will. Anytime the column display changes in any way i have to go through and make sure the identifers have not changed.

How can I add a new row into an array bases on a1D array

I build a FieldPoint application with LabView 7.1 RealTime. I've a measurement loop with 1Hz sample rate. I sample 5 channels and put them into a 1D array. Presently I write directly to a cvs file but this I've to cahnge because my loop slows down to 0.2 Hz.
I want to sample my data the hole day (86400 loops) and save them inside of an array. When the time is over I want write the hole array (table) to the file.
How I can do this or hoow I can add my 1D array to a new row in my 2D array?

Writing a series of 5 values to a file should not take so long. There is probably something wrong in the way you are saving your data. May be you should post a simplified version of your vi, so we could see how to improve your code.
