Add additional flexfields columns ?

Is it possible to add additional DFF columns to a table. We need to extend that RA_SITE_USES table which is an oracle shipped table. I am aware that it is against the standards but apart from that is it possible to do it.
I added an additional attribute26 column and in the DFF form when i try to select the column , I do not see the newly added one, is there anything else I need to do .
thanks,

Okay,
Rule #1: Don't create modifications unless you really have to.
Rule #2: See Rule #1
Some other people might have more input here too...
First, it might be easier to revisit your existing DFF fields and make better use of them - e.g.
- any that are not user enterable or displayed, push to unused fields e.g. global_attributeXX
- ensure context sensitivity is being used to make best use of available segments.
- combine any related DFFs into one (often in combination with validation sets)
- move any DFFs that are at a lower level of detail to the correct level of detail, eg. if it can be on the customer site rather than customer site use level, move it!
Some updates to DFF fields may be necessary, but much easier than modifications.
Second, in response to your question, I've seen it done, but haven't done it myself. Steps would be something like:
1. Add attributeXX column to base table
2. Add column to view(s) on top of table
3. Register the DFF segment
4. Modify DML handler to add new column
5. (Possibly but hopefully not - depending on implementation of the UI) Modify UI code to handle new column
6. Worry about patches/upgrades wiping out your modification.
Third, You may be able to register another (unused) field on the ra_site_uses table to be used as a DFF field, but not a great idea, as Oracle could use the field without warning.
(Under Application Developer, Flexfield > Descriptive > Register)
Fourth, You could extend the UI to include your own fields - extension or modification but you control it more.

  • Bill Presentment Architecture - Add additional line columns in template

    Hi,
    I am going to add additional columns in lines level in BPA template. The template is for all our invoices which include manually entered invoices and invoices imported from other systems. I knew we need to create a supplemental data source base on a context value, but manually entered invoices don't have a context.
    How can I create a supplemental data source for manually entered invoices?
    We have three context values defined for ar invoice import from different legacy systems and plus manually entered invoices. Do we need to create 4 templates base on 4 data sources?. Can we only create one template (need additional columns in line level) for all invoices? Would be very helpful, if I get how to do these.
    Thanks.

    Thanks to all I have got solution.

  • How to add a tip to flexfield columns

    How to add shorttip to Flex: (BankDetails) columns/segments. I know how to add shortip if it is a messtext input, I would like to know is there a way to add shorttip to Flexfield columns using personalizations.

    There seems to be no way for adding tip for a single segment using personalization.
    FYI:
    1. For whole region you can add a tip by creating a tip item just under flex item.
    2. Using controller, get the handle of any single segment. Then use the below method:
    oamessagetextinputbean.setLongTip()

  • Is there a way to add multiple categories columns to my enterprise wiki page

    Hi All,
    I have the following inside my SharePoint 2013;
    Enterprise wiki site collection.
    By default I got one category column for my enterprise wiki site.
    I link the defualt wiki category (of type managed metadata) to a term store.
    I am trying to achieve the following:-
    I need to add additional wiki categories (of type managed metadata) and link them to different term store.
    For example when a user add a new wiki page , he can select the default wiki , in addition to that he can
     a customer , sub-topic, country , etc.
    What I tried is :-
    I went to the wiki library and from there I added a new site column of type managed meta data.
    I link the new column to a second term store, and I did the same for the other wiki categories.
    The problem I am facing:-
    The new wiki categories were not displayed when adding /editing/viewing the wiki pages?
    Can anyone advice how I can add the new wiki categories , so that users can fill them when add/editing a wiki page , also how to show them under the defualt wiki category when reading any wiki page?
    Thanks

    Number of Chapters in iMovie is not known by me but if You aim to do a DVD then there is a problem.
    iDVD has some limitations
    • 99 Chapters maximum !
    • 60 resp 120 minutes limit (Movie + Menu duration) on SL-DVD and about double on DL-DVDs
    I would divide material onto two DVDs then I get 198 Chapters and 120 to 240 minutes on SL-DVDs
    Note thar MENU can take up lot's of time - 15 minutes o even more.
    I use Old Theme and "Brushed Metal" no Animation and No Audio on Menu - to keep this under one minute.

  • How to add a new columns in table contorl in standard screen.

    Hi All,
    I am working on a enhancement for transaction VA01. I have to add few column for tab Additional Data B. In this tab  column are displayed in table control. Now i have to add two more column in table control. Could you please help me to find out the exit and the way to populate the new columns.
    Thanks
    Piyush Mathur

    Hi Piyush,
              That table control might have been created using an internal table i.e declared in the exit. Add two more fields which you want to that internal table. And come to the layout and create table control once again using that internal table.
    Reward if helpful.

  • Additional Lead Column in Report painter

    Hi Gurus
    Please guide me how to add an additional Lead column in Report painter
    Thanks
    Hiren

    Hi HIren,
    There can be only one lead column in report painter.
    However within the one lead column you can identify more than one characteristic - e.g. cost center and cost element. You can then identify that both characteristics should be exploded.
    If you go Edit > Rows > Explode, you have the opportunity of identifying which characteristic takes presidence over the other, and how they expand. So in this example, Cost center will be 1 and cost element will be 2.
    The output will be dependant upon your report layout, but you should have the layout so that you have:
    Cost Center A:
    - Cost Element A
    - Cost Element B:
    - Cost Element C:
    Cost Center B:
    - Cost Element A:
    - Cost Element B:
    - Cost Element C:
    And to distinguish the cost centers from the cost elements, you can format the cost center row "Color for Totals"

  • Dynamic Table - Add rows and columns in same table

    Hi there,
    I wonder if someone could help please? I'm trying to create and table where a user can add both rows and columns (preferably with separate buttons) but am having trouble trying to figure out how to do this. Is it possible? If so how? I'm not familar with script but have found examples of seprate tables where you can add a row and then another table where you can add columns and essentailly want to merge the two but cannot make it work.
    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ken

    It is great example....you can learn the concepts there and apply....however you may have to think twice before you implement column adding dynamically....because the technique here is make copy of what we already have and reproduce it as a new item and this technique works great for rows as they all have every thing in common. But when it comes to columns it may have unique visible identity as column head and displaying repeatedly the same column head may not look good. Of-Course you can do few extra lines of code and change the column appearance based on users input each time. Situations where users need to add additional column is very unlikely (sure your requirement might be an exception).
    Key in allowing adding/removing instances is managing design mode settings under Object>>Binding>>....and select the checkbox "Repeat <subform/row/...> for Each Data Item" and then set Min, Max and Initial count values.
    Also you need to club your effots by using simple scipt with button clicks....
    for the example refered in URL you posted following is what I did to make the first table allow Adding/Removing Rows....
    1. Opened the form in LC designer.
    2. Add two buttons AddRow & RemoveRow right next to RemoveColumn
    3. For AddRow I used following JS code....
          Table1._Row1.addInstance(1);//that means any time this button is clicked a new instance of Row1 is added use _Row2 or Row3 based on your needs
          var fVersion = new Number(xfa.host.version); // this will be a floating point number like "7.05"
          if (fVersion < 8.0) // do this for Acrobat versions earlier than 8.0
           // make sure that the new instance is properly rendered
           xfa.layout.relayout();
    4.  For RemoveRow I used following JS code....
         Table1._Row1.removeInstance(1);//Syntax is...<objectReference>.removeInstance(<index of the repeating object that needs to be removed>); //in this case since we used 1 alwasys second object from top gets deleted.
          var fVersion = new Number(xfa.host.version); // this will be a floating point number like "7.05"
          if (fVersion < 8.0) // do this for Acrobat versions earlier than 8.0
           // make sure that the new instance is properly rendered
           xfa.layout.relayout();
    5. Now time to update settings at Object>>Binding tab and set "Repeat......" and also set Min, Max and Initial count as explained above.
         Those settings needs to be updated for Row1 (or your choice of row) of the table
    6. Set the Height to Expand of the Subform, where the table is housed....  this is done under Layout pallet
    7. Save the PDF as dynamic template and verify the results...
    If you still run into issues I can send you copy that works on my machine, but you need send me an email at n_varma(AT)lycos.com
    Good luck,

  • Add additional params into existing SP

    Hello,
    please, how can I add additional params: @LastName and @FirstName into existing procedure that starts:
    @PIN nvarchar(13)
      AS
    DECLARE @v_exist int
    set @v_exist=0;
    Namely, upon adding additional params:
    @PIN nvarchar(13)
    @LastName nvarchar(20)
    @FirstName nvarchar(20)
      AS
    DECLARE @v_exist int
    set @v_exist=0;
    and adding additional table that comprises columns FirstName and LastName into existing Select statement(referenced table that comprises all possible values of PIN) by creating corresponding relationship, the SP freezes, fails without any output....
    Note: SP checks for PIN that is entered into WEB application, in certain T1. If exists, it informs user that PIN already has been entered and new one must be of different type. But, I would like the First and Last name to be checked, too, i.e., in newly
    added table T2 I would like LastName and FirstName to be extracted based on entered PIN and, upon that, to have checked these couple LastName AND FirstName in T1 (because, there are rows with missing PIN and fact that result could be more then one line is
    not problem because T1 comprises only cca 300 rows... )
    Tables T1 and T2 are not changeable but reference tables...The data entered via interface goes into some other tables...

    Must be because, one person with it's belonging PIN can be entered only once into e.g., T1. Evaluation in the SP checks if entered  PIN is in the T2, which comprises forbidden PINs, LastName, FirstName...etc...But, in some cases i.e., some rows, there
    is missing PIN which is to say that I had to involve new table that comprises all possible values for PINs based on which I would like to extract LastName AND FirstName and check it against T2...i.e., check T3.LastName with T2.LastName AND T3.FirstName with
    T2.FirstName...
    But, like Mr.Sorna advised, without table scripts and sample data ...etc...my thread is too ambiguous...I am afraid...

  • Adding additional db column

    So you're design your screen and shown it to the customer. Now the customer want a field that is not currently in the table.
    When I add it be going to sqlplus and dropping the table and recreateing the table
    with an additional column, the application will no longer run (null xml file, ...) and I have no idea how or what to fix.
    Should I be adding the new column in jdev?

    You can use sql*plus or DBA studio to add a column to the table. (
    If you use sql*plus, don't drop the table, just alter it to add the new column, with something like ALTER TABLE MY_TABLE ADD("MY_COLUMN" VARCHAR2(10))
    then, in JDeveloper,
    - Find the entity corresponding to the altered table, click the "new from table" button in order to add the new column to the entity's attributes list.
    - Add the attribute to the views in which you want it to appear.
    that should dot it

  • Dynamic columns: how can i add an adjacent column to each dynamic column?

    i would like to extend the dynamic columns example coming with XML Publisher MSWord plugin.
    the example produces a table like:
    TestScore 0-20 21-40 41-60 61-80 81-100
    Theology 20 37 50 12 122
    English 0 55 30 92 52
    Mathematics 30 45 50 102 22
    i would like to have an output like this:
    TestScore 0-20 21-40 41-60 61-80 81-100
    Theology     20 2,8% 37 5,1% 50 7,0% 12 1,7% 122 17,0%
    English     0 0,0% 55 7,6% 30 4,2% 92 12,8% 52 7,2%
    Mathematics 30 4,2% 45 6,3% 50 7,0% 102 14,2% 22 3,1%
    For each "original" value column i need an adjacent additional column with percentages
    one big header cell for the value- and adjacent percentage-column together.
    (the percentages can either be calculated in the template or they could be
    part of the XML. e.g. <PercOfStudents>2</PercOfStudents> as an additional child
    of the <TestScore> group.
    is this possible?
    how could i add an adjacent column to each dynamic column?
    any suggestions, tips or hints?

  • Seeded Search Page ( PO History ) Addding new Criteria columns

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement wherein i need to customize PO History Search Page to add 2 new columns Supplier Name and Supplier Site as criteria. I was able to extend the Results VO but how do i proceed with adding new columns in the criteria region. Please provide me the steps.
    also, somewhere i read in this forum if the construction mode for the query region is autocuztomization criteria then we cannot customize the seeded page. please do provide me an alternative
    Thanks,
    Rajesh Khatri

    Hi Ramkumar,
    I am doing the following steps to run the seeded page PosRevisionHistoryPG ( Under Purchasing :-
    1) copied entire pos folder ( $java_top/oracle/apps/pos ) under java_top to my local machine.
    So my local machine has the foll directory structure
    jdev_home/myclasses/oracle/pos and jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos
    2) added jdev_home/myclasses/oracle/pos to my classpath.
    3) Created a new empty OA Project. ( name - rkposchng.jpr , default package - > rkposchng.oracle.apps.pos )
    4) Created a new empty Business Component Package under rkposchng.oracle.apps.pos
    5) Imported the server.xml to my project from jdevphome/myprojects/oracle/apps/pos/changeorder/server.xml
    6) Imported PosRevisionHistoryPG.xml ( seeded) to my project. This file was not there under java_top. I had all PG , RN ( xml files) file
    from $POS_TOP/mds/changeorder/webui and copied under jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos and jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos/changeorder/webui
    7) Ran the page from jdeveloper and its not returning any rows. On running i received 71 warnings and 0 errors.
    From the above you can see that i am not changing anything but still no rows are returned.
    Do i need to import any more files in step 5. I am not getting any clue what is the problem.
