Add Columns to Updatable Report

Hello,
i need some help regarding an "Updatable Report".
My goal is to have some SelectLists in comluns named "2008_05", "2008_08", ....."2010_01", "2010_04".
The user must have the option to add more cloumns.
My process on submit is:
declare
  SQL_STRING varchar2(4000);
begin
  SQL_STRING :=  'ALTER TABLE TAB_REPORTS ADD "' || :P3700_COLUMN_NAME ||  '" varchar2(100)';
  EXECUTE IMMEDIATE(SQL_STRING);
  return;
end;At the moment I have this code for a standard report returning a SQL query:
declare
  q varchar2(4000);
begin
  q := 'SELECT R_ID, PLANT_NAME, UNIT_NO, R_TSO_NO TSO_NO';
  For i in (SELECT * FROM USER_TAB_COLUMNS
  WHERE table_name = 'TAB_REPORTS'
  AND column_name like '2%')
  loop
    q := q || ', ';
    q := q || 'APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV (1, ';
    q := q || chr(34);
    q := q || i.column_name;
    q := q || chr(34);
    q := q || ', ';
    q := q || chr(39);
    q := q || 'LOV_QER';
    q := q || chr(39);
    q := q || ', ';
    q := q || 'null';
    q := q || ', ';
    q := q || chr(39);
    q := q || 'Y';
    q := q || chr(39);
    q := q || ') as "';
    q := q || i.column_name;
    q := q || '"';
  end loop;
  q := q || ' FROM TAB_REPORTS ';
  q := q || ', TAB_SD';
  q := q || ', TAB_CONTACT';
  q := q || ' WHERE TSO_NO = R_TSO_NO';
  q := q || ' AND CON_PLANT_NAME = TAB_SD.PLANT_NAME';
  q := q || ' AND R_TSO_NO = decode(:P3700_FILTER_PLANT_NAME, ';
  q := q || chr(39);
  q := q || 'all';
  q := q || chr(39);
  q := q || ', R_TSO_NO, :P3700_FILTER_PLANT_NAME)';
  q := q || ' ORDER by PLANT_NAME, UNIT_NO';
  return q;
END;The function returning a SQL is not working for an updatable report.
It has to be static i think.
Any solutions or ideas?
Thx & greetings
Chris

  • OIM report / add column to working report

    Hi,
    I need some help with OIM reports.
    Cannot add a column to a working report. What I have done is that I have changed the Stored procedure and then changed the Report XML Metadata to include that column.
    The report just turns out to be blank after the changes made.
    A snippet of the change to the Stored Procedure(added line in bold):
    -- contruct the query
    strColumnList := ' tusracc.system as "SYSTEM", ' ||
    ' vifs.ifsemp_employee_id as "EMP_ID", ' ||
    ' vusr.usr_first_name || '' '' || vusr.usr_last_name as "EMP_NAME", ' ||
    *' vusr.usr_status as "USR_STATUS", ' ||*
    ' tusracc.attribute as "ATTRIBUTE", ' ||
    ' tusracc.attrvalue1 as "ATTRVALUE" ';
    strFromClause := ' v_users vusr, v_ifsusers vifs, tmp_user_access tusracc ';
    strWhereClause := ' tusracc.usr_key = vusr.usr_key ';
    strWhereClause := strWhereClause || ' and vusr.usr_key=vifs.usr_key(+)';
    IF strsortcolumn_in IS NULL THEN
    strOrderByClause := ' 2 ' ;
    ELSE
    strOrderByClause := strsortcolumn_in ;
    END IF;
    IF strsortorder_in = 'DESC' THEN
    intSortDirection_in := 0;
    ELSE
    intSortDirection_in := 1;
    END IF;
    -- run the report query
    XL_SPG_GetPagingSql(strColumnList,
    strFromClause,
    strWhereClause,
    strOrderByClause,
    intSortDirection_in,
    intStartRow_in,
    intPageSize_in,
    select_stmt
    OPEN csrresultset_inout FOR select_stmt;
    ELSIF intdocount_in = 2 THEN
    OPEN csrresultset_inout FOR select dummy from dual;
    END IF;
    In the report XML Metadata I have added a line for the USR_STATUS column(change in bold):
    <Report layout="Tabular">
    <StoredProcedure>
    <InputParameters>
    <InputParameter name="v_resource_name" parameterType="varchar2" order="1" fieldType="LookupField" fieldLabel="report.ResourceAccessList.label.resourceName" required="true">
         <ValidValues lookupCode="Lookup.Reports.Objects"/>
    </InputParameter>
    </InputParameters>
    </StoredProcedure>
    <ReturnColumns>
    <ReturnColumn name="SYSTEM" label="customer.report.system" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="true" filterColumn="false" />
    <ReturnColumn name="EMP_ID" label="customer.report.emp_id" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="false" filterColumn="false" />
    <ReturnColumn name="EMP_NAME" label="customer.report.emp_name" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="false" filterColumn="false" />
    *<ReturnColumn name="USR_STATUS" label="global.label.Status" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="false" filterColumn="false" />*
    <ReturnColumn name="ATTRIBUTE" label="customer.report.attribute" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="false" filterColumn="false" />
    <ReturnColumn name="ATTRVALUE" label="customer.report.value" display="true" position="SectionHeader" primarySort="false" filterColumn="false" />
    </ReturnColumns>
    </Report>
    Anything that I have missed to do? We have restarted the app server, but it still doesn't work.
    Regards,
    Thomas

    Arghle.....
    I found the reason for the blank result page with this...
    apparently we are not allowed to name a resulting column in a stored procedure to USR_STATUS, silent fail :/
    When I renamed this to EMP_STATUS it all works as intended...
    Duh!
    I wonder in where it says not to do this...

  • How can I delete/add Columns in my Report?

    Hi everybody,
    i´ve just a silly little question...
    We´re using APEX to revise our Daily Reject-Rows and some other Dimensiontables.
    For every Table, witch is to revise we´ve got a single Page in our APEX Application.
    Also, in every Page we created a Report for our users,
    so that they can revise the Data,
    and published it in our intranet, using a Webserver.
    Now my Question...
    In one of these Pages we´ve more then 110 columns in the sql Region Source,
    placed in the Region Definition.
    But...in the Report Attributes, there are only shown 99 Columns.
    I must integrate 3 or 4 more Columns from my Source Definitioned Table in the Report.
    Where can i do this?
    I only see how i can edit the columns, make them visible or hide them,
    define their Propertys...but where can i add a new Column?
    or delete one?
    I´m very thankfull for every Awnswer :-)
    Best Regards
    LoneWolf

    Ok, i found a Solution...
    It seems to be a BUG. (?)
    The Report Attributes will be realy generated automaticly
    under using the Source Definition, but...
    - There´s a Restriction in the Sum of all Columns,
    it can be only 99 witch will be able to define and revise.
    - If you´ver got more then 99 Columns in your Source
    you have to specified them exactly, by Name
    ...AND...
    - you have to create the Source SQL new.
    It is not sufficiently if you change the Position of the Columns in the SQL Source (placed at the Region Definition).
    I copied and pasted the Source SQL three Times,
    before APEX accept the changes of the Position from the Columns.
    At least...
    In the Moment as i define the needed Column,
    (now in the Report Attribute available),
    APEX understands it an i can put the others Columns (Columns 99 till 110) back in the Source SQL, without loosing my needed Column in my Report again.

    Trent,
    Thanks for you suggestions. .. Let me explain my problem a little better ...
    I have a report that lists fields associated with a report ... I have a delete icon which deletes a row and removes it from the underlying table ... however, I am trying to implement a Before header process which runs a pl/sql process that checks if the selected field is the last field in the report ... if so, I want a confirmation dialog to pop up ... if they click cancel .. then the deletion is aborted, else the field is deleted (which triggers other status changes).
    Based on this logic if there is a way to implement this based on your suggestion I would appreciate it ...
    Here is the process I was trying to use .... but the I have a few issues with this approach
    declare
    -- cursor to check if this is the last field
    cursor fld_cnt is
    select count(*) from prm_ptnr_rpt_fields
    where report_uid = :P22_REPORT_UID;
    num_flds number;
    msg varchar2(300);
    begin
    open fld_cnt;
    fetch fld_cnt into num_flds;
    If num_flds > 1 then
    delete from prm_ptnr_rpt_fields
    where report_uid = :P22_REPORT_UID
    and field_user_key = :P9_DELETED_FLD;
    commit;
    :P9_DELETED_FLD := NULL;
    msg := :P9_FIELD_NAME || ' Field Excluded From Report' ;
    apex_application.g_print_success_message := msg;
    else
    htp.p('<script type="text/javascript">');
    htp.p('
    var r=confirm("This is the last field included in this report .. \n Deleting it will Inactivate the report and remove it from schedule (if scheduled) ...\n Do you want to proceed?");
    if (r==true)
    {      delete from prm_ptnr_rpt_fields
    where report_uid = :P22_REPORT_UID
    and field_user_key = :P9_DELETED_FLD;
    :P9_DELETED_FLD := NULL;
    commit;
    msg := :P9_FIELD_NAME || ' Field Excluded From Report' ;
    update prm_ptnr_rpts
    set report_status = 'INCOMPLETE',
    active_report = 'N'
    where report_uid = :P22_REPORT_UID;
    msg := msg || ' and Report Status changed to INCOMPLETE';
    apex_application.g_print_success_message := msg;
    htp.p('}else {
    alert("Delete Action Aborted");
    htp.p('</script>');
    End if;
    Close fld_cnt;
    end;
    a) Even if I click cancel ... the field still gets deleted ...
    b) :P9_DELETED_FLD is the id for the selected field ... I am setting it on the link attributes which places it on the URL ... I would rather user javascript (but not exactly sure how).
    Thanks,
    Gerald

  • Add Columns to Adhoc Reports Layouts?

    Are there any config or sql injections or translations to add additional columns to the custom layouts in the Adhoc Reports in RPT?
    Specifically, would like to display Related Specs when running reports for Trade Specs.
    Edited by: Trey on May 1, 2013 11:26 AM

    You could probably technically add related items as a search result column in a ready report, but it isn't an out of the box available result column. So it will require some undocumented customization work. I don't think the results grid is the best location for this data due to performance implications and even UI display challenges. I think your best option would be to create a BI Publisher report. Your PLM4P license includes a free limited use license for BI Publisher. This would be a good topic to discuss during a dev to dev call.

  • Add column in FBL3N (report)

    How do i insert a new field in transcation report FBL3N (G/L Account Line Item Display), that column is a sales order value.?
    Regards
    Carlos Orden

    Additional fields can be added to FBL3N layout using transaction code O7R3.  But I don't think sales order value is in the available fields that can be added in O7R3.  Go to O7R3 and check the tables that are available in table field.  Only fields from those tables can be added.

  • Dynamic add column in Bex report

    Hi all,
             we have input parameter is month wise. For example if i have input 12.2011 - 03.2012
    Output:
    12.2011--01.2012--02.2012-----04.2012
       50kg -
    70--90--
    54
    Like above dynamically have to change column based on month input parameter. Please guide me how to design bex query.
    Thanks
    Saravanan

    hi,
    restrict calmonth with variable type manual input, and put this calmonth in columns on top of amount or quantity. It will give you your desired output.
    hope this helps,

  • Report Attributes: Add column link and derived column

    On the Report Attributes page (4000:420), under the Tasks list on the right side of the page, there are 2 links, "Add column link" and "Add derived column". This is the first time I am noticing them.
    The usage is clear, they add columns to the report to function either as a drill-thru link column or just a read-only derived field.
    Doing it this way does NOT modify the source query for the report region.
    Is there any benefit to using this feature versus adding a "null column_link" or "null derived_col" columns to my source query then setting attributes for those columns?
    Thanks

    Well, one disadvantage I can see of using the 'Add Column link' is that if I have more than 1 of such columns, they all show up as '[column link]' on the Report Attributes page with no way to tell what the underlying links are. Instead, if I were to manually add these dummy columns to my query itself, I would give them meaningful column aliases that indicated where they link to.
    Suggestion: Maybe a tooltip could be added to the Report Attributes page for such columns which indicate what the underlying link is without actually going to the Edit page for that column.
    Thanks

  • Error in updatable report

    Hi All,
    I need to add validation to updatable report.
    As the report doesnot have items, I am using collection package.
    eg:
    select
    htmldb_item.select_list_from_query(9,em_agent,'select em_agent, em_agent from IBM_MANAGED_DATABASES') em_agent,
    htmldb_item.select_list_from_query(10,em_in_scope,'select em_in_scope, em_in_scope from IBM_MANAGED_DATABASES') em_in_scope
    from "#OWNER#"."IBM_MANAGED_DATABASES" d, ibm_servers s
    where d.server = s.server
    When I run the page, I am getting an error
    report error:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    The same thing I implemented on emp ,dept tables in apex training instance and it works.
    Can anyone please address where I am going wrong in actual implementation.
    Thanks.

    Sarvani,
    I am sorry I did not get you "or change your handle to show it".I mean go to the Control Panel link (top right of on my page) and make your handle something like "Sarvani". While you are there click "Show" for your name and put at least your first name there. Messages are a lot easier to track when they are associated with human-sounding names.
    Is that you are pointing to the way I explained the problem.I don't know what you mean by that.
    My report has 1045 columns...1045 rows
    and as you suggested I used apex_item.popupkey_from_query...I first suggested that you try select_list_from_query_xl. Did you try that? I don't think it will help because you are returning so many rows but you could try it.
    Then you tried the popupkey_from_query. I am not clear if the page doesn't run and gives a 404 or if the page runs and the popup page gets a 404.
    When you put the test case on apex.oracle.com, we will be debugging the popup item but it will be much easier if you can first check your Apache logs on your system and get the error message.

  • How to add columns dynamically in a classical rep deending on a parameter

    hi all,
    i have a scenario where ii have to add columns in my report depending on a certain parameter.the report should dymnamically add the columns based on the parameter.

    Hello Diego
    Revert your logic and remove or do not display columns if the corresponding parameter is missing or does not have the expected value(s).
    Using ALV lists you would accomplish this using the following coding:
    IF ( <parameter is missing or has not expected value> ).
      ls_fcat-tech = 'X'.
      MODIFY gt_fcat FROM ls_fcat
        TRANSPORTING tech
        WHERE ( fieldname = <column> ).
    ENDIF.
    The column for which this attribute is set in the fieldcatalog will appear neither in the ALV list nor in the layout.
    Now for a classical report (WRITE report ?!) you should develop a similar logic. You have to encapsulate the displaying or writing for each column and make this dependent from the parameter, e.g.:
    LOOP AT gt_data INTO ls_data.
    IF ( <parameter is missing or has not expected value> ).
    " do nothing -> skip this column
    ELSE.
      PERFORM write_column USING ...
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.

    I could see that you are using the addRow() function to generate new blank row.
    I guess, this function(used by the builtin tabular form s) , identifies editable columns when they are marked so at the report column attributes.
    When you use apex_item API, it expects the columns to be standard report column and hence render the new rows as such.
    Some one from the development team might be able to give a better answer on that.
    As for avoiding this issue
    <li>One method , would be to define the columns editable(and display types) in report column attributes.
    <li> You can duplicate the last row using jQuery( *$('tr.highlight-row:last).after( $('tr.highlight-row:last).clone() )* ) and removing the field values, but events(for example datepicker) would remain attached to the original row , so it isn't very straightforward either.
    <li>If you want to use apex_item you would have to use a pseudo union to DUAL for generating a blank row and re-render the report either by a page load or a Dynamic Action. Sounds like a nice idea for a plugin.
    Now , if you want to add rows multiple times without saving them, then you would need to store the values in a collection at load and update the collection before adding the row.

  • How to add a row-selector to an existing SQL Query (updatable report)

    Anyone who can point me in the right direction?Have you been able to recover all your other configuration and this is the last thing you need to fix? Or are all those other things needing to be fixed as well?
    The reason I ask is that you may want to consider just starting from scratch, if you haven't put lots of effort into recovering everything else just yet.
    On the other hand, if you just want to add a checkbox back into the SQL statement then you can add this, substituting your column name for empno of course:
    APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX2(1,empno,'CHECKED') "Select"When you do this you'll get a warning that you're changing the interactive report, which you should accept. Then you need to make sure that the column is actually shown in the interactive report by making sure it's in the displayed columns list. And you may also need to change the display type of the column to "Standard Report Column"
    Hope that helps.

  • How to add column to report for entry

    what does it take to add another column to a (classic) report?
    I added a column to the table and view and now I need it to be in the report for data entry.
    That's the problem. I got as far as getting the column in the report which was as easy as
    adding it to the query, but it is not shown as
    a field that could be entered. So I'm missing something. What distinguishes a field that
    is enterable from a field that is not enterable? I don't see where that information is held.
    similarly if I try to add a validation for it the new field does not appear in the list as it is not
    viewed as a crud field. What gives it the crud magic?
    I'd really appreciate it if someone can tell me.

    Never mind I figured it out on my own.
    (No I cant believe it either.)
    Having added the column to the select statement,
    What makes a newly added tabular form column be viewed as updatable is
    what is in the Display As entry. (I think). Such as Text Field
    or Datepicker. Those are updatable. But display as text is not updatable.
    But I suspect it is also necessary under report attributes for the column
    to have these filled in also.
    reference table owner SOME_SCHEMA
    reference table name SOME_TABLE
    reference column Name COLUMN_NAME

  • Add members to collection from sql updatable report.

    I have created a collection based on a query (collection_name = 'EMP_COLLECTION' query = select name, ssn, dept from emp.
    The collection is created perfectly.
    Now, I have a page with a SQL-updatable Report based off of the collection
    (select * from htmldb_collection where collection_name = 'EMP_COLLECTION'. The collection rows appear, and I am able to press an ADD button to add a row. I fill in the data using the key DEPT which a pull from a field stored on the page.
    How can I reference the other fields in the collection...#NAME#, #SSN# (as they are not items on the page).
    Please let me know if you need clarification on this question as I realize I am a bit out of my league in describing it....but could really use a tip.
    Karen

    Karen,
    I recently began working on collections, so here are a few code snippets that may help you:
    Create Collection (placed in a Before Header Page Process)
    apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection
    (p_collection_name => 'SOME_COLLECTION');
    Initially populate a collection with default values (placed in a Before Header Page Process)
    DECLARE
    i number;
    cntr number := 5; -- Sets number of default entries in collection
    BEGIN
    for i in 1..cntr loop
    APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
    p_collection_name => 'SOME_COLLECTION',
    p_c001 => 0, --Unique ID
    p_c002 => :P10_ITEM_NM, -- Item Name
    p_c003 => NULL, -- Description
    p_c004 => sysdate, -- Date of Entry
    end loop;
    END;
    each p_cXXX is a reference to a column in the collection.
    View existing collection
    SELECT SEQ_ID,
    c001 ID,
    c002 ITEM_NM,
    c003 ITEM_DESC,
    c004 ITEM_ENTRY_DATE,
    from APEX_COLLECTIONS
    where COLLECTION_NAME = 'SOME_COLLECTION'
    You can also turn this into an editable collection by going into the report and individually changing the fields to text fields, dropdowns, etc.
    To Update a collection (On Submit, After computations Page Process)
    declare
    c pls_integer := 0;
    begin
    for c1 in (
    select seq_id from apex_collections
    where collection_name = 'SOME_COLLECTION'
    order by seq_id) loop
    c := c+1;
    --Item Name
    apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'SOME_COLLECTION',
    p_seq=> c1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>2,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f01(c));
    --Item Description
    apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'SOME_COLLECTION',
    p_seq=> c1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>3,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f02(c));
    --Item Entry Date
    apex_collection.update_member_attribute (p_collection_name=> 'SOME_COLLECTION',
    p_seq=> c1.seq_id,p_attr_number =>4,p_attr_value=>wwv_flow.g_f03(c));
    end loop;
    end;
    In this example, the ID field is hidden to the users and populated using a sequence. The other fields are presented as text fields for Item Name and Item Description and a Date Picker for the Item Entry Date.
    The key to understanding this is that the attribute number indicated by p_attr_number references the column in the COLLECTION containing the value you want to update/overwrite. The g_fXX tells which of the updatable columns in your report provide the values for the columns. Keep in mind that the number of updateable columns in your report is likely fewer than the total number of columns, so the numbering here starts from the first updatable column and goes down. If you rearrange the order of the columns in the display, it will not alter the field in the collection you reference (the attribute), but it WILL alter the g_fXX notation you use to get the value from.
    Writing to the DB
    declare
    begin
    for c1 in (select TO_NUMBER(c001) row_id, c002 itm_nm, c003 itm_desc,
    to_date(c004,'DD/MM/YYYY') itm_dt from APEX_COLLECTIONS
    where COLLECTION_NAME = 'SOME_COLLECTION') loop
    insert into ITEMS (ITEM_ID, ITEM_NAME, ITEM_DESC, ITEM_DATE)
    values (c1.row_id, c1.itm_nm, c1.itm_desc, c1.itm_dt);
    end loop;
    end;
    Here, the trick is to reference the items using the [collection name].[attribute alias] syntax. This avoids the Oracle error "can't use a column".
    If you want to reference items not on the page and put them into the collection, I recommend pre-populating them, since the user isn't going to be able to alter something they can't see anyway. I have used this successfully with both page items and application items.
    Cheers.

  • How to add two columns in OBIEE report?

    Hi to All,
    Can anyone tell me how to add two columns in OBIEE report and get that result in a new column?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Thenmozhi

    Assume you already have two columns SalesAmt1 and SalesAmt2, and you want to derive 3rd column say SalesAmt3 which would be the sum of SalesAmt1 and SalesAmt2.
    For this, as I mentioned above pull SalesAmt1 and SalesAmt2 columns in Report. Now pull another column (say SalesAmt1) and open the fx. Clear the contents of fx. Now locate the columns button in the bottom of the fx. From Here, first select SalesAmt1 and + sign and the select SalesAmt2.
    Now in this new column, the fx should look like SalesAmt1 + SalesAmt2.
    Let me know if you are looking for something else.
    Thanks
