Add dependencies 7.2 vs 7.0

Hi Experts,
In NWDS 7.2, I am manually adding dependency by:
1. Right-click on Project --> Development Component --> Show In --> Component Properties
2. Click on Dependies --> Add
3. Within ENGINEAPI, I select com.sap.security.api.sda for getting user id
and it works...
However how do I set up the same in 7.0? without using External DC library. The steps described above do not exist in 7.0.
There are no tracks created on NWDI. Java Runtime is on portal. No Transports required.
Thanks

Hi,
To get the same api in 7.0 follow the below step.
1. right click on Used dc and click on add used DC
2. Under My Component expend  SAP-JEE , select com.sap.security.api.sda from here.

  • Assemble ant task and dependencies

We are in a process of moving from wasp 4.5 to OC4J R3.
We want to be able to assemble (and deploy) a bottom-up java web service using ant.
I look at the assemble ant task but I couldn't find out how to specify using that task the jars that will be copied to WEB-INF/lib or any other option like using a custom oracle-webservices.xml file to specify the dependencies or specifying a shard library to be used..
The documentation is really unclear about the subject.

What's your approach to pack the files?
Just use the assemble task to create the war structure and then add all the dependencies?
I'm new to OC4j but it seems a reasonable request to add dependencies with the ant task , just like when you use the input tag to specify which files should be in WEB-INF/classes.
The oracle-webservices.xml is another way to specify the web service (if i remember correctly) and I gave it as another example of where I looked to solve to problem.
It shouldn't be that hard to pack to war file myself... it's just annoying that when you come from WASP 4.5 which is over 3 years old and it's so easy and clear how to pack a bottom-up web service.

  • Product launch and feature dependencies

I'm reorganizing my e4-application to use feature-based product definitions. I encountered the following behavior:
    Setting:
    Let P be a feature-based product definition containing a feature F.
F contains just one plugin, say A. A imports a package, that is provided by another plugin B of the target platform. Hence, F contains B as a dependency (using <requires><import plugin> in feature.xml).
    Behaviour:
If P is launched or exported, the plugin B is neither included in launch configuration nor in export, clearly yielding a
    Could not resolve module: A
    Unresolved requirement: Import-Package: B;
Sure, this can be solved by adding B to F directly (and not as dependency).
    My question is:
    Did I get something wrong?
What is the purpose of the Dependency configuration of a feature?
Do I have to include all required plug-ins into the feature by hand?
Is there an automated way to do this (like "Add required" for plugin-based products)?
    Regards, Ragnar

    Hi Ragnar
no, I do not think you are doing something wrong.
A large product might consist of multiple features. So if B is a library you are using it might make sense to put it in a separate library feature you can add to your product definition. Or you might want to have it in the same feature as A. It depends on what you want to accomplish. We use features to group bundles that are shared by multiple products (like libraries and core components).
Afaik the editor for feature.xml does not offer any help to add dependencies automatically. We manage our features manualy. As soon as a product is stable it usualy isn't a lot of work. Before that, when the dependencies still change a lot, I like to use plugin based product configuration and switch to features later. You could check if another build technology like Tycho or Bndtools works better for you, but I don't know. You should be wary of "Add required" anyway, because it might add something you do not want to have (i.e. all fragments in your target get added as soon as their host is present which is not always what you want).
    Cheers

  • SQL Query to find dependencies

After using the Command Line Tool to add dependencies to a file, I'm now trying to query the repository for the information. I'm able to find the file and the dependency types, but i can not find the table/view that will show me what the file is actually using (ie actual table name). My query is a follows:
    select c.name "container", f.name "file", t.type||' - '||t.subtype type, d.supplier_irid
    from sdd_folders c
    ,sdd_folder_members fm
    ,sdd_files f
    ,sdd_dependencies d
    ,sdd_dependency_types t
    where fm.parent_ivid = c.ivid
    and c.name = 'C_Programs'
    and fm.member_object = f.irid
    and d.client_ivid = f.ivid
    and t.irid = d.dependency_type_irid
    and f.name = 'test.C'
Has anyone been able to query the repository for this kind of information?

To find foreign key constraints for a table you cannot use DBA_DEPENDENCIES but you have to use DBA_CONSTRAINTS.

  • Makedep: convert optional dependencies to real dependencies

    Project page: http://xyne.archlinux.ca/projects/makedep/
Makedep can add dependencies to installed packages. It is mostly for converting optional dependencies to real dependencies but it can be use to make any package a dependency of another, including an empty package used as a metapackage (exploring the possibilities of such is on my TODO list).
The project page contains some examples and the full list of options. Usage should be simple. The "technical" section contains some remarks about the implementation regarding database integrity.
This is not as good as my idea for doing this natively in Pacman, but it works.

Well, right now you can use "provides" to have a sort of optional depends.
For example, the potrace and autotrace packages could both be built to provide "raytracer". Then the mftrace package would simply depend on a "raytracer".
Not quite the same, but it fills in some of the need.

Hi when i add dependencies in variable i get the above error

    Hi,
I guess Orgsubtypecode1 is somehow related to Orgsubtypecode which causes the cyclic dependencies.
e.g. Orgsubtypecode1 has a groovy expression referencing Orgsubtypecode.
    Have you already checked this?

  • Message Interface no longer exist in Integartion Repository

    Hi,
I am working on a IDOC to file case, in which I want to determine the receiver at runtime using a value in IDOC, with the help of Context objects/ XPATH. In Receiver determination of ID, after selecting Sender and Sender Interface, when I try to select Receiver, it's giving message "Message Interface no longer exist in Integration Repository" and I am not able to see the Sender IDOC in the conditions field before the Receiver selection. Anybody having any idea why I am getting that error message.

    hi,
check if the system that you're using has this message interfaces in sender/receiver tab (double click on the
    system in directory)
if not maybe the you need to add dependencies
to the software object (product/software component) which has this message interface - this idoc
(if you do remember to refresh sld cache)

  • Multiple SQL task objects inside a package object is not generating proper DTSX

I am programmatically adding multiple ExecuteSQLtask objects inside a package. I am specifying all the required properties to the ExecuteSQLtask objects.  However, when I save the package object to dtsx, the package looses the properties of some
    of the ExecuteSQLtask object.
In the below example, I have created 3 ExecuteSQL task objects using the function AddSqlTask. However, once you run it, one of the objects will loose its properties. What makes it more weird is the fact that sometimes, object 1 looses the properties,
some times, its object number 2. Its random. I know that these objects are COM objects. Is there something I need to careful of when setting the properties ? Why are the values lost when I save them to DTSX ?

  • How to get current row of Advanced table with no submit

    I have an advanced table with an 'Add another button'. When an empty row is created by clicking this button, LOV is used on the first column to populate other fields of the row. The rows of the table carry a button called "Add dependencies" whose functionality is to take the user to a different table to add rows to a different VO. This button is just a button and not a submitButton. I am passing the row's primary key as part of the URI as Vo attribute FdTaskId={@FdTaskId}
The button works perfectly fine for database fetched rows (rows already present in the database), but, for the rows created using 'Add Another button', though LOV populates all fields including the primary key, the URI parameter passes null to the next page. That means, the VO attribute is not set. This works fine only when a 'submit' happens in the first page. For example, if I click Add another row again, then the previously inserted row passes the primary key fine as part of {@FdTaskId}.
Could you please help me how I can resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Datta

I am doing exactly that. My issues is that, VO attribute is passed correct for the table rows which are fetched from the database. For the table rows which got created through 'Add Another button', the VO attribute passed through URI as {@FdTaskId} is returning null. The VO attribute sets only when a form submit happens. For example, after adding a row through 'Add another row' button, click the same button again to add one more row and now go back to previously added row and now you can see that its VO attribute is set ({@FdTaskId} carries value )

  • Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 Application Server

I'm trying to get the JSE8 Application Server to run as a service. I've read other forum articles and none of them really answered my question. So, I tried to implement the JSE8 server via the JavaServiceWrapper approach (and, I was successful). The only problem is that when I log on and then log off the computer running the application server, the application server stops.
So, I have several questions. One is, "why does the application server stop when it detects a user logoff, especially if the user it was started under wasn't even the one logging off?"
The second question is where is the documentation mentioned in other e-mails regarding how to set up the JSE8 server as a service per Sun's guidelines (I can't find it anywhere; a web link would be most helpful here).
Finally, is Sun planning on changing this so the JSE8 application server runs as a "real" service to make deployment much easier in a Windows environment (like version 7 did)?

From what I can tell about the Java EE 5 SDK beta is that it still requires the SC.EXE method of installating a windows service. I got the "JavaServiceWrapper" method to work (well, not perfectly, but it works thanks to the hint provided by the first respondent (using the -Xrs switch in the JVM on the Application server). Then, I created a JSE8Server.conf file, as required by the JavaServiceWrapper (from http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org). Here's the conf file as I wrote it (note that this is all hard-coded based on install directories, etc.) But, it does allow you to point to a specific JVM (see wrapper.java.command line) and does allow anyone to log on and off the Windows system without shutting down the application server (domain).
The only problem with this is that that java service basically runs to start the service and then dies. The application server is then spawned on new disassociated Process IDs; so, without writing some more code to periodically ask the application server if he's "up", there is no automatic restart capability...at least from the service's span of control.

  • How to refresh the list of SCs?

    Hello All,
Here's what I have done so far.
    -Installed NWDI.
-Ran the configuration wizard which created MYCOMPONENT, MYPRODUCT and SANDBOX track.
-When I go to SLD, I see that MYCOMPONENT has 3 "BuildTime" "Dependencies" 1) DI BUILD TOOL 7.0 2) SAP J2EE Engine 7.0 3) SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.0.
    - When I go to my CMS Track, landscape configurator, I see "MYCOMPONENTS" listed in the table of "Developed Software Components"
    - When I go to CMS - Transport Studio - I see the 3 SCAs in the CHECKIN tab and I checked them in and later IMPORTed to Development. Import finished fine.
Now, my goal is to load the CRM Java Components 7.0, CRM Java Web Components 7.0, SAP Shared Java Components 7.0, SAP Shared Web Java Components 7.0, Tealeaf and CRM IPC Mobile into the SANDBOX track so that I can view the source code of the CRM application through NWDS.
I have all the SCAs downloaded. I imagine I should go to SLD, Components and add the above "new" dependencies to MYCOMPONENT. When I try to do that now, I get a screen where I have to search for the components and when I search for "shared", I get search results showing version 5.0 of the Shared components, even though I have copied them onto the inbox folder folder (I only see the older three SCs in the track Checkin and not the newly downloaded ones).
As you know I downloaded version 7.0. But How can I load them up so that the list shows the newly downloaded ones?
    Please help!
    Kiran

    Satya,
    Thanks for answering.
I guess my question is two folds -
    1) How do I make the newly downloaded (now on my desktop) SCAs to appear in the SLD > Components so I can add them as dependencies for MYCOMPONENT.
After downloading the SCAs, what do I do with them? I probably should upload them somewhere? or copy them to some area so SLD is aware? something else, may SDM?
At this point, when I go to SLD > Components > pick MYCOMPONENT and try to add dependencies, I see a lot of CRM stuff in the search table - but not 7.0.
    2) If I can accomplish the above task, I am sure as per the note you mentioned, they would appear under CMS > Transport Studio > CheckIn tab.
I hope I am clear in explaining what I am looking for.
    Thank you Satya.

  • Best practices to include client libraries used at component level

How to include component level resources, while following the best practices.
    Ex:
I am looking at the geometrixx media site in CQ 5.6. In the some of components, ex: 2-col-article-summary we have a client library defined under the component.
    /apps/geometrixx-media/components/2-col-article-summary
    -2-col-article-summary.jsp
    -clientlibs
      -css
      -css.txt
if i look at the categories of the clientlib, it is defined as follows
    categories String[] apps.geometrixx-media, apps.geometrixx-media.2-col-article-summary
The only place this client library is included is in the head.jsp of main page level component.
        <cq:includeClientLib categories="apps.geometrixx-media.all"/> - this in turn embeds the apps.geometrixx-media
    my questions are as follows
    1) Why do we have two categories for the clientlib, if ithe second category name( apps.geometrixx-media.2-col-article-summary) is not being used. Is there is some other usage for this i am missing.
    2) Also these set of css is always included no matter whether a specific component is added to the page or not.
    3)  I could use the following to include the client at the component level, but this will cause unnecessary <script> and <link> elements at the component level mark up.
       <cq:includeClientLib categories="apps.geometrixx-media.2-col-article-summary"/>
Essentially  i am trying to understand, how to include a specific component level resources while following the best practices

    Hi,
I dont have CQ5.6 setup so could not see referring example but by looking at description i can say
Ans 1. The client library can be invoked directly through tag lib as <cq:includeClientLib categories="category name"/> but it can also be invoked when you add "dependencies" property to client library folder and in that case it resolve all the dependencies first. So to answer your quesiton by looking at client library folder configuration you can not say that specific category has not been used any where or not invoked.
Ans 2. Invoking client library folder completely depends on your code where you are placing call for client library using <cq:includeClientLib> tag and dependencies configuration. So you have to dig it more to trace out all the calls (also default css/js loads)
Ans 3. Correct. So accomplish that best way to manage client library at component level and give it a unique name which can not be invoked any where neither through <cq:includeClientLib> call nor through dependenies configuration. This way you can avoide overridding of same library files. (Better to manage proper hierarchy of library)
Hope it gives you some idea .
    Thanks,
    Pawan

  • Can any one tell me how to pull out a sealed management pack key token

    Hi All,
Can any one tell me how to pull out a sealed management pack key token. I want to add dependencies to a management pointing towards a sealed management pack for which a "management pack key token" is required which i need to add in the XML File
of the management pack. Can any one please tell me how to fetch that information.

    Hi Gautam,
If you need to reference one management pack in another management pack, then you will need to know what the public key token is. When referencing a Microsoft management pack, it is easy as Microsoft always have the same key which is 31bf3856ad364e35 but
if you need publickey token for other then MS management pack then you can simply run a SQL querry in your OperationManagerDB.
select * from dbo.ManagementPack where MPName = 'Type your ManagementPackID'
ManagementPackID will be present of the properties of the Management Pack.
In that case the management pack should be imported in your SCOM environment.
And you will get Public key token only for sealed Management packs not for unsealed.
