Add ing to the calss path???

HI your all going to laugh but I never done it.
Im making an XML program and need to "make sure teh XML parser classes are in the class path".
Can anyone tell me how this is done. ?

Files\Symantec\pcAnywhere\;C:\BORLAND\BCC55\BIN;Er - hold on a minute! Right place, wrong variable!
That looks more like a PATH then a CLASSPATH to me.
PATH is the windows variable that tells it where to look for executable files.
CLASSPATH is a java variable telling it where it can load classes from.
These things are not the same. Putting xerces.jar into your PATH will just confuse your poor computer.
If you are going to create one of these things, you have to create a new CLASSPATH variable.
CLASSPATH = .;C:\j2sdk1.4.2_02/lib/xerces.jar;
This is the base one you will need
. = current directory
xerces.jar for the XML stuff
If you are writing servlets etc, you will probably want to include servlet.jar or j2ee.jar in here as well.
I kinda agree with duffymo that setting a CLASSPATH should be done on a per project basis, but if you're gonna do it, you may as well do it properly.

    1) I provided the path in the unc name - when I click "Add.." then i browse the the .exe file via network share, not via local path. So that should be OK
    2) Firewall is turned off and eventhough the exeptions are enabled, both of then, checked
    What else should I do to make this work?

    Okej, I found the sollution:
    You have to specify the path like \\hostname\drive_letter$\path-to-the-program.
    I was doing wrong because i wrote it like \\hostname\ShareName\path-to-the-program.
    I was misleded because the wizard wants me to find the program by clicking, and not by entring the path manualy.

    Q: Are there .class files in that directory in that jar file? (the compiler doesn't ( can't )) look for directories, it can just look for specific files , and scan to get a list of all files matching certain criteria. So if there are no class files, it will say the package doesn't exist, even if there is a directory, possibly containing other files.yes there are class files in the jar, the tree structure:
    j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\(lots of class files)
    META-INF\manifest.mf
    and thats it.

    Q: Is the compiler finding other classes (in other packages) in that same jar file?No. all the class files are in the jar, they all have entries that start with "j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\*.class", and since I get 47 errors I guess it does not load any other class.
    thank you for you comments, the problem with having these errors, is that I can't even get a piece of information where this error is coming from, only that it is an import loading error package not found, what does that mean? that the jar was not loaded in compilation(no error about this), that the jar is corrupted(no error about this), that the path is incorrect(it is correct I made sure), that there is no such package in the jar(There is), that the compiler does not load the package(does it even do that?), really I can't even guess why this happens, I've been at this on and of all day today, really annoying.

    I am working on an Outlook add-in, where I have a requirement like - User will be
    allowed to configure a permitted folder. Now, if "Save/SaveAs" is
    used on any of the MailItem, the user should be allowed to save only within the
    permitted folder or any of it's sub folder.<o:p></o:p>
    Possible approach I could foresee - <o:p></o:p>
    1. Filter the "Save/Save as" dialog so that only the permitted folder or it's
    sub folder could be selected. Hence, no need to validate the selected path.<o:p></o:p>
    2. Apply validation after the path id selected & check if it falls under the
    permitted folder.<o:p></o:p>
    Limitations/Issues I am facing<o:p></o:p>
    1. In approach 1 above, I could not find a way to restrict the path selection to the

    2. In approach 2 above, I could not find a way to capture the BeforeSave event >

    You should be aware that using your proposed Outlook addin will not necessarily prevent users from saving mail items to any folder that is accessible to them through the Windows file system.
    I was easily able to use drag and drop to copy a mail item from Outlook 2007's inbox folder directly to a folder in the file system that was opened in Windows Explorer.  This would completely bypass your desired restriction.
    The same holds true for Outlook 2013.  I had no difficulty using drag and drop to copy a mail item from the inbox to a file system folder.
    You may want to investigate other data security alternatives.  Good luck.

    How do you add the motion path of a tracking point to a clone stamp without the clone stamp assuming the same initial/continuous positions of the tracking point?
    Is there a way to keep the clone stamp's initial position and then add the path onto it?
    I am using the clone stamp to remove unwanted duct tape that was used to keep lights on a wall.

    I have spent two days trying to find a solution to this exact same problem. I have seen some overly complex solutions that probably work but trying to figure out the explanations is like trying to understand someone describe drag coefficients of rotary wing aircraft. While I am sure they work, they are way above my comprehension. I wanted an intuitive and straight forward solution for something that shouldn't require some arcane technique to fix.
    What I did:
    1) I used the Clone Stamp tool to paint over the spot on the wall I wanted to remove.
    2) picked a more easily discernible point of reference for Tracking. In my case, I used a poster on the wall.
    3) As per the instructions here, https://www.video2brain.com/en/lessons/removing-an-object-with-clone-stamp, I pasted the Attach Point data from the Tracker into Clone -> Transform - > Position 
    However, that didn't work for me as the object I was painting was not the object I was tracking. The solution from the video was simply moving my cloned spot to the tracked object instead of leaving it where I wanted it. So...
    4)  I then manually adjusted the Anchor Point of the Clone back to the original spot I wanted to cover.
    I played footage and the cloned region successfully moved with the spot I was covering.
    This is what I was able to figure out. I'm not an advanced user. I only use After Effects every couple of months when I need to fix minor things in footage, so I've only learned to use what techniques I need for the job at hand. No doubt, experienced users may shake their heads at my simplistic fix. I'm sure my technique would be wholly inadequate for situations far more complex than fixing spots on a gray wall, which is why my eyeballs cross when reading suggestions that seem way more involved than one would expect for something as seemingly minor as this. It's just a spot! It should be super easy to remove, right? Well, that's what I was looking for and that's what I came up with. I hope it helps.

  • Problem: iWeb adds directory to the path

    I have built my web site and bought my domain name www.janicerobertson.co.uk.
    When I publish my website to my web host Hostgator using FTP I get the following in the address bar of the browser:
    http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Janice_Robertson/Welcome.html
    It appears to be adding the additional directory of Janice_Robertson to the path.
    What I would like it to be is:
    www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Welcome.html
    (without the addition of Janice_Robertson)
    Does anyone know how I can do this.

    Thank you Old Toad and Tom for your replies they have really helped.
    I managed to solve most of the problem by going into the site publishing settings and:
    1) changed the Site name to public_html
    2) in the Directory Path I put a /
    I have managed to get rid of the extra 'Janice_robertson' added to my site path and my address in the browser bar now reads:
    http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Welcome.html
    or
    http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Testimonials.html
    etc, depending on what page I am on except for the pages which have been made up out of the 'Blog' template page.
    for example I created a page titled Articles out of a blog template page and the address reads:
    http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Articles/Articles.html
    It is adding an additional Articles to the directory path.
    Wondered if anyone knew why this is happening?

    We tried twice clean installation, after removing j2ee dir, SCS and

    We are getting the same error in both tries.

    you saved my day!  I've been banging my head against the wall with this same problem during a J2EE add-in installation for SRM 4.0 on Windows, in preparation of an LAC 2.0 installation.  I had tried deleting the schema first, but that didn't work.  After I removed the sys\global\security folder as well, it worked perfectly.

    i only wanted to get the path so that i could cd to it
    but then i have to add quotes around because of spaces
    the method u suggested escapes all required chars and means i can just type cd and then drag the folder and then press enter

    Yes, it is possible to add button for the transaction SM30.
    This is possible through Menu exit.
    Procedure for Menuexit:-
    Go to SM30 ->System -> Status
    Repository data -> Transaction -> Double click on it
    Copy package name
    Go to SMOD
    Press F4 then a popup will open
    Click on information system
    Enter package name and press Enter
    Then we will get Exit
    Put cursor on that exit and press Enter
    Go to change mode and save it.
    Go to CMOD or alternatively we can use the path tools -> ABAP/4 Workbench -> Utilities -> Enhancements ->Project Management
    Specify Project name in the enhancement text box
    Click on Create icon on the application toolbar.
    Enter description for the project and save it
    Click on Enhancement Assignment button on the application toolbar
    Give Exit  and save it
    Go to Components on the application toolbar
    Double Click on MENUS001
    Write function text which we want to add to menu item and save it with an request      number
    Double Click on Exit and write code there to display menu item in the screen
    Activate the include program and finally activate the project.

    I need to access these iviews from serverB(EP 6.0)....
    In ServerB only the iviews has to be displayed in the content area but not TLN,Toolarea,etc.
