Problem: iWeb adds directory to the path

I have built my web site and bought my domain name www.janicerobertson.co.uk.
When I publish my website to my web host Hostgator using FTP I get the following in the address bar of the browser:
http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Janice_Robertson/Welcome.html
It appears to be adding the additional directory of Janice_Robertson to the path.
What I would like it to be is:
www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Welcome.html
(without the addition of Janice_Robertson)
Does anyone know how I can do this.
Many thanks.
Janice

Thank you Old Toad and Tom for your replies they have really helped.
I managed to solve most of the problem by going into the site publishing settings and:
1) changed the Site name to public_html
2) in the Directory Path I put a /
I have managed to get rid of the extra 'Janice_robertson' added to my site path and my address in the browser bar now reads:
http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Welcome.html
or
http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Testimonials.html
etc, depending on what page I am on except for the pages which have been made up out of the 'Blog' template page.
for example I created a page titled Articles out of a blog template page and the address reads:
http://www.janicerobertson.co.uk/Articles/Articles.html
It is adding an additional Articles to the directory path.
Wondered if anyone knew why this is happening?
Many thanks.

  • Bursting Problem - A file or directory in the path name does not exist

I'm trying to burst some data via email using the standard DocumentProcessor java code but receiving an error relating, I assume, to an invalid temporary directory. I've checked that the directory exists, as do the data file and control file. By the way I am not running in Apps, just stand alone mode. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • Test-path where a directory in the path is variable

My company has a series of fax lines and associated file shares. Faxes are processed & then dropped off into these file shares. From that point a service runs about every 60 seconds to look for files in these directories to import into a database.
If there is a problem with the import then the service moves the file to a "HOLD" folder & files remain there until human intervention.
I am trying to create a script that will find the HOLD directory in each of these folders and look for the existence of files, then email a group of users alerting them if there are.
So there are several things I'm trying to accomplish.
    1. Look for files in a path where a folder in the middle of the path is variable.
    2. Send and email that will inform the recipient that there are files in the HOLD folder(s) and tell them WHICH ones
Here's what I am starting with but it isn't working as expected.  There are files in at least one of these.  I also thought to try using some kind of foreach loop but it's eluding me.  Probably because it's late in the day for me.
    $folder = get-content -Path "\\child.domain.com\netlogon\scripts\ps\numbers.txt"
    if(Test-Path -Path "\\Server\scan import\fax\$folder\Hold" -include *.pdf, *.tif, *.jpg) {write-host "Files exist at $folder"} Else {write-host "No files in the hold folders"}
    # When I wrote this script only God and I knew what I was doing. # Now, only God Knows!

The numbers.txt includes a list of folder names, one per line. I did come up with the following and it's working, for my purposes, so I now need to figure out how to get the results into the body of a single email.
    $parent = "\\server\scan import\fax\"
    $folders = get-content -Path "\\child.domain.com\netlogon\scripts\ps\numbers.txt"
    Foreach ($folder in $folders)
    if(Test-Path -Path "$parent$folder\HOLD\*" -PathType leaf)
    write-host "Files exist at $parent$folder\Hold"
    Else
    write-host "$folder Clear"
I'm really only using the Write-Host actions in place of the Send-MailMessage Cmdlet, at least I think that is the command I need.
    # When I wrote this script only God and I knew what I was doing. # Now, only God Knows!

  • Problem to add CUCM for the Service Monitor

I'm trying to add the CUCM for the CUSM(Service Monitor) and the Last Contact Status to CDR/CDRM DB is always "Waiting for Data"(According picture 1 attached). Due this issue, none Phone were added to service monitor.
I checked the credentials and all credentials are OK and the CUSM was added into CDR  Billing Application Server list(picture 2).
I attached 2 pictures about the issue.
Picture 1: Service Monitor- Data Source Credentials Status
Picture 2: CUCM - CDR Management
    Someone have any tips?
    Thanks,
    Luis

Well,, no responses.   I have finally gotten a solution thats doesnt have this error.  So, If your having this problem do this
1: Go thru all your projectes and delete all the clientConfigs, webService References, and the Service References Directories.
2: In one method or another delete the existing Web Service and Create a new one with all your subs and functions copied over.
    3. DO NOT name it the same thing, so somethng like myWebSvc_03_ for the 3d time you have done this process.  Fortunately, on this interation, all seems well. I can even do an update WebService without destroying the links.  Makes
me wonder how much junk is hanging out in the code somewhere.  I dont know if this is true or not, but it seemed to have worked best when I created all the projects and then added the sebService last. I do know that I had problems when adding a new project
to the solution after the web service was working.
    4. Rebuild, and then go add you service references back into your solutions and update the code as needed.
Maybe I should just make the webservice a totally separate entity, but I am the ony one that would use it, so that seemed a additional complication.
One sort of unrelated note... You may have a solution that has a user control called in it, but itself is not using the web service.  My project requires that I copy a clientConfig from another project.  And then if you do a rebuild of the web service, you
my have to update this as well.
Im rather new to Silverlight, but this has been a real pain and a lot of work time lost due to this issue.
So, not an answer, but perhaps a workaround that will save you some of the pain that I have encountered.
Im marking this as answered, although its not really.  At best its a workaround.

  • Setting the path in Windows98

    Hello,
I'd like to run my java application on a computer with Windows 98, and not in the java bin directory. I'm familiar with setting the path variables in Windows XP. You go to control panel -> System -> Advanced -> Environment Variable -> and set them as you like. In Windows 98 there seems to be no such method. Instead I'm hacking away at the autoexec.bat file, but I still can't seem to get it to work. Currently, this is what my autoexec.bat file looks like:
    REM [Header]
    @ECHO OFF
    REM [CD-ROM Drive]
    REM c:\windows\command\mscdex /d:gem001
    REM [Miscellaneous]
    REM [Display]
REM [Sound, MIDI, or Video Capture Card]
    REM [Mouse]
    c:\windows\cwcdata\cwcdos.exe
    PATH=c:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\bin;c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_01\bin;
    CLASSPATH=c:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_01\bin;c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_01\bin;
I put the path to both the JRE and JDK in both the PATH and CLASSPATH variables just to be sure. From a DOS prompt, the "java" command seems to work from anywhere, but the "javac" command still only works in the bin directory. Can any think of where I'm going wrong?

This is copied from the installation Instructions for the product you downloaded. (Note the use of quotation marks - eithr do that or uses the 8.3 format of the directory name)
Microsoft Windows 98 - To set the PATH permanently, open the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add or change the PATH statement as follows:
Start the system editor. Choose "Start", "Run" and enter sysedit, then click OK. The system editor starts up with several windows showing. Go to the window that is displaying AUTOEXEC.BAT
Look for the PATH statement. (If you don't have one, add one.) If you're not sure where to add the path, add it to the right end of the PATH. For example, in the following PATH statement, we have added the bin directory at the right end:
    PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;"C:\PROGRAM FILES\JAVA\JDK1.5.0_<version>\BIN"
Capitalization doesn't matter. The PATH can be a series of directories separated by semi-colons (;). Microsoft Windows searches for programs in the PATH directories in order, from left to right. You should only have one bin directory for a JDK in the path at a time (those following the first are ignored), so if one is already present, you can update it to jdk1.5.0_<version>.
To make the path take effect in the current Command Prompt window, execute the following:
    C:> c:\autoexec.bat
To find out the current value of your PATH, to see if it took effect, at the command prompt, type:
    C:> path

  • Read a csv file in a PL/SQL routine with the path as a parameter

    hello oracle community,
System Windows 2008, Oracle 11.1 Database
I have created a directory in the database and there is no problem to read a csv file from there. Since the files can be at different places, my java developer is asking me, if he can give me the path of the file as a parameter. So far I know I will need a directory to open the file with the UTL_FILE package, but I cannot create diretories for folders, that will be created in the future. Is there any way to solve that problem, so I can use the path as a parameter in my routine ?

as I said before, they are dynamic. As usal to most other companies, you get new partners and you will lose partners, so new folders will be added, old ones will be deleted. if you use different directories for different folders, you have more work to handle them.I wouldn't call that dynamic, I would call that business maintenance. Dynamic would mean that the same company is putting their files into different folders each time or on a regular basis. If it's one folder per company then that's not dynamic.the folder structure is changing, I call that dynamic, does not look static to me. but thats just a point of view, it is not important how we call it. lets just agree, the folder structure will change in the future, no matter how many folders one partner will have.

So you're receiving files and you don't even know the format of them? Some of them are not "correct"? Specify that the company must provide the files in the correct format or they will be rejected.
Computers work on known logic in most cases, not some random guessing game.we know the correct format, but we also know, that the partner wont always send the correct format, period. Cause of that we want to deliver an error log, record 11,15 and 20 is wrong cause of....that is a very usefull service.

The folders should be known.impossible, we do not know the future.

The file format should be known.see above, it has a fixed format, but thats not a gurantee you get the correct format. for me thats a normal situation, it happens every day, you have fixed rules and they will be broken.

The moment you allow external forces to start specifying things how they want it then you're shooting yourself in the foot. That's not good design and not good business practice.maybe we are talking about different things, we do not allow to load data into our system with a wrong format. but we do allow to to send us a wrong format, and even more, we do allow them to send wrong content, but still we dont load it into our system. format and content must be correct to be loaded in the real system, but both we are checking. and with external tables you cannot check a wrong format we a detailed error log.

  • How to know the path of file.

i am facing a problem,i have prepared a jar file of an application, which should have a path-file in it & that path-file contains loaction from where applicatioin starts, and creates some file there. but i dont know loaction when i prepared the jar file.how to solve this problem.

but it is not in my hand, My jar file will be used by a vendor to code a Servlet which will access the classes in the jar file. it cannot be solved by My jar file.
    My Question was
I have to deliver a jar file which contains my classes. This jar file will be used by a vendor to code a Servlet which will access the classes in the jar file.
One of the classes in this jar file is required to simulate a file-system (we call it "Repository"). Essentially, it creates a certain directory and reads-writes files into it.
My problem is how to specify the path (i.e. directory location) of the "Repository". Following are the possibilities I could see :
    1. Hardcode the path in the java code - This is not desirable since we do not know it while I am preparing my jar-file.
    2. Create a properties file, put Repository.path=... as an entry and package it with the jar-file - The problem is that sine this properties file is packaged in the jar, it is read-only. Hence, it cannot be changed at runtime.
I want to know what are the general approaches to this?

  • Does the SWF need to be in same directory as the HTML?

I'm relatively new at Flash, so apologies if my question has
an obvious answer... I've searched the newsgroups and other forums
and haven't found anything similar. Here's my problem:
    - when my html doc is in the same directory as the swf file,
the movie appears and plays fine in my browser
    - when my html doc is in a different directory as the swf
file (but calls the swf using the correct path), the movie doesn't
    appear.
The exact html file that works when it's in the same
directory as the swf doesn't work when it's moved out of the
directory(and the path to the swf modified correctly)... This
problem doesn't occur with a different swf file (inherited from
    another designer).
I use Flash MX2004 for Mac.
    I've tried publishing to Player 6, 7, actionscript 1.0,
actionscript 2.0 with no difference in results.
Is this strange situation a Flash-on-Mac thing, or is there
some setting or parameter that I can set to resolve this?
    Leif

    1) the swf is not neccesary to be at same directory with html
    2) when you load a swf from different directory, and you load
other swf into the main swf, all path are relative to the html, but
    not swf.
    3) it is nothing about what version of flash or what platform
    you are using.

  • Starting Server "The system cannot find the path specified".

    Hi,
When trying to start Sun Java SystemApplication Server 9.1 I get the message "The system cannot find the path specified".
    I have PATH = C:\Sun\AppServer\bin;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\ant\bin;
    Windows XP SP 3.
    Suggestions please!
    Lou

Are you trying to start it as a system service or just from a command prompt?
You may need to add the lib directory to the PATH as well, ie C:\Sun\AppServer\lib and don't forget to reboot if it is a system service.

  • Regarding the path variable. somebody please help !!!

I have a small problem, I have to change the path variable often. So I thought of creating two .bat files to change it when i needed. But the problem is in XP...
    set Path=%Path%;C:\myfolder;
command doesnt seems to be working. Actually it doesnt change the Path system variable at all. Please help me with this and Sorry if i have posted the questing in a wrong forum.
    Kawisha.

    Hi
First of all as I know there is a limit for the length of the path string.
For the second time if you change the path in a CMD than this doesn't change the path string of the system only the CMD path string has changed.
If you want to change to system path string than do it in the Control Panel/System/Special Tab/Enviroment Variables/System Variables/Path.

  • Type on Path tool not typing on the path

Using the Type on a path tool I keep trying to type along the stroke of the shape though it keeps placing text inside the shape? I am using cs5. What am doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Fred,
... I already had type inside. I also want to add type to the path.
Unless changed the the latest version(s), I am afraid the path can only be applied to one Type type at a time so that you will have to copy the path to appy another Type type (sorry, being the type that I am I had to type it in this way).

  • IWeb adds "extra" directory in some file paths

I'm helping a client create a podcast using iWeb. For the record, I have created several functional podcast sites using WordPress, so I'm not a novice.
    The podcast page is here:
    http://hauntingofcambria.com/Podcast/Podcast.html
You can see that the page points to the podcast's RSS feed as being here:
    http://hauntingofcambria.com/HauntingofCambria/Podcast/rss.xml
The problem is, the "HauntingofCambria" part of that URL doesn't exist. The correct URL to the podcast RSS feed is actually:
    http://hauntingofcambria.com/Podcast/rss.xml
But for some reason, iWeb insists on adding that "HauntingofCambria" directory to the URL. We're not using .mac to host the site, and when we publish to a folder, we're making sure to enter "http://www.hauntingofcambria.com/" (without the quote marks) in the box that asks for the website URL. Is there a fix for this?

For some reason, you have not uploaded the full site structure created by iWeb, which includes the folder "HauntingofCambria". Truncating the site structure like that guarantees that certain things will not work. Uploading it fully will make everything work fine.
For iWeb sites you always upload two items: The folder which iWeb creates which has the same name as your gave your site inside the iWeb app, plus the index.html file created by iWeb alongside that folder.
If you are unhappy with seeing "Haunting ofCambria" in the browser address bar, change the name of your site inside iWeb to something short like "a" and republish and reupload.

I strongly suspect it is due to the white space because when I change the directory name from My Schema to MySchema and alter the above sqlplus command accordingly, the script runs fine.
Like I said, this script works in windows with the spaces, but not in Linux. I suspect spaces may not be supported, but I was wondering if anyone knew any different or it there is a work-around?
side note: running a command like:
    more ../database/My\ Schema/create_sequence.sqlor
more '../database/My Schema/create_sequence.sql'prints the contents of the file to the console as you would expect. So, I think this is sqlplus (and linux) specific.

On linux, you can't create directory that contains spaces between letters, like let say : fol der. Doing a mkdir fol der would create two folders,
one named fol and the other named der.
By information you provided , it's obvious that the exact and the correct full path to the create_sequence.sql file is ...database/MySchema/create_sequence.sql.
Can you position yourself in the directory where create_sequence.sql file is and type pwd to confirm the correct path?
