Add listener in HTMLPANE BEAN AREA

I have a Java class which interprets the HTML code (based on http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/article-1896785.html).
On the other hand I have another class that captures the key down (based on the exemple keypressed.zip in the same web page http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com).
Both classes are in the same jar.
In my form I have a bean area that implements the HTML class, but if the focus is on this element ignores the key pressed.
The same thing happened with the buttons and adding the following code in the KEY class has been fixed.
protected void getTextItems(Component component, int iter)
if (component.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.forms.ui.VTextField"))
oracle.forms.ui.VTextField vt = (oracle.forms.ui.VTextField)component ;
vt.addKeyListener(kl);
else if (component.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.forms.ui.VTextArea"))
oracle.forms.ui.VTextArea ta = (oracle.forms.ui.VTextArea)component ;
ta.addKeyListener(kl);
else if (component.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.forms.ui.VBean"))
oracle.forms.ui.VBean abe = (oracle.forms.ui.VBean)component ;
abe.addKeyListener(kl);
else if (component.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.forms.ui.VButton"))
oracle.forms.ui.VButton btn = (oracle.forms.ui.VButton)component ;
btn.addKeyListener(kl);
if (component instanceof Container)
Component components[] = ((Container)component).getComponents();
iter++;
for (int i = 0; i < components.length; i++)
{ if (components[i] != null)
{ getTextItems(components[i],iter);}
The HTML class implements VBean, i don't understand why the next code hasn't effect
else if (component.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.forms.ui.VBean"))
oracle.forms.ui.VBean abe = (oracle.forms.ui.VBean)component ;
abe.addKeyListener(kl);
Some idea?

Hi,
you will have to register this function as a custom ID and then handle the call in the set_property() method of the PJC.
If this method is supposed to only return a value, then use the get_property() method.
protected static final ID mTest = ID.registerProperty("MYTEST");
public Object getProperty(ID p0){
if (ID== mTest) then {
return "my string";
else
return super.getProperty(p0);
variable1 := get_custom_property('block.beanitem',1,'MYTEST');
Note that the code could contain typos as I was writing it from the top of my head.

  • How do I add a mouseEvent to an area

    does anyone know how i add a mouseEvent to an area?
    i want to test the response of the user to hit a Graphic on the screen
    but i dont know how to make the Graphic so that it can be hit.
    Simple enough problem just im a bit dim. lol
    THanks for any help that would be offered,
    Brain

    You could add a mouse listener to the whole panel (or whatever container you're using) and then test each mouse click to see if it's within the area you're looking for.
    The getPoint() method of MouseEvent will tell you where the event occurred. If the graphic is rectangular, you can use the contains(Point p) method to see if the event occurred inside that region.

  • Add listener to Grid Infrastructure using srvctl.

    Hi,
    We have a two node 11.2.0.3 Grid Infra cluster running on SLES11 Linux.
    Everything is ok with the SCAN and standard listeners.
    However we have a listener running on each node which is used by Oracle Gateway. These listeners were created manually using info provided by Oracle (i.e. definition copied to $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora and started using lsnrctl). This all works.
    These listeners are currently not managed by Grid Infra. We would like them to be.
    I thought this was easy enough using srvctl to register them with Grid Infra using...
    srvctl add listener -n mynode1 -l LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW -o $ORACLE_HOME -p 1529
    srvctl add listener -n mynode2 -l LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW -o $ORACLE_HOME -p 1529
    These commands worked but did give a warning stating that the -n flag is deprecated and will be ignored.
    This has left us with the following listener config....
    grid@MYNODE1:~> srvctl status listener -n mynode1 | grep mynode
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode1
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is not running on node(s): mynode1
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode1
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is not running on node(s): mynode1
    grid@MYNODE1:~> srvctl status listener -n mynode 2 | grep mynode
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode2
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is not running on node(s): mynode2
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode2
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is not running on node(s): mynode2
    You can see that Grid Infra knows about the listeners but they are available on both nodes. What we would like is a result like the following example....
    grid@MYNODE1:~> srvctl status listener -n mynode1 | grep mynode
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode1
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE1_GW is not running on node(s): mynode1
    grid@MYNODE1:~> srvctl status listener -n mynode 2 | grep mynode
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is enabled on node(s): mynode2
    Listener LISTENER_MYNODE2_GW is not running on node(s): mynode2
    i.e one listener registered with just the node it is running on. This used to be possible with using the -n flag but no longer works. Does anyone have any advice on how to achive this in 11gR2.
    Any input appreciated,
    Regards
    ma365

    Hi get the info of the listener and the scan -[listeners]
    Execute the statements from the GRID infrastructure.
    srvctl config listener [-l listener_name] [-a] this gives the info how the listener is register in to the OCR.
    alternative:
    Execute the steps to add a listener.
    srvctl add listener -l crmlistener -p TCP:1533 -o {CRS_HOME}
    srvctl enable listener -l crmlistener
    srvctl start listener -l crmlistener
    srvctl config listener -l crmlistener -a
    lsnrctl status crmlistener
    See what the result of this exercise is, working then convert to this method

  • A cmr-field and a cmp-field on the bean are using the same name. The names

    Hi:
    I am using weblogic 8.1 and MyEclipse 5.1.1. I am deploying my ear application through MyEclipse 5.1.1 as an ear file.
    When I ran the following EJB QL:
    SELECT OBJECT(p) FROM Product p.category = ?1
    I get the following error:
    n relation Category-Product, a cmr-field and a cmp-field on the bean are using the same name. The names of cmr and cmp fields must be unique.
    It is basically complaining that I have a field
    <cmr-field>
                             <cmr-field-name>category</cmr-field-name>
                        </cmr-field>
    in my ejb-jar.xml and also the same category in the
    <cmp-field><field-name>category</field-name></cmp-field>
    field. The problem is that if I changed the value of the cmr-field, I have to add a get and set in my productLocal.java and when you do that you have to do the same in the ejb-jar.xml.

  • Applet, images and the Bean Area

    I've created a Java Swing Applet Bean that simply displays a GIF image that it receives via a URL. The Applet works well on its own, however, I have tried to register my Java Applet Bean with a Forms Bean Area and although I can see that something is happening (the bean area turns gray) I still cannot see the image etc.
    What I've done is:
    1)Created a Java Class that extends oracle.forms.ui.VBean and draws an image.
    2)Next I JAR-ed the class and placed it, as well as dependent JARs in the IDS_HOME/forms90/java directory and added the JAR to the formsweb.cfg
    3)Then I created a new form with a Bean Area.
    4)Then I created a button with a trigger that when pressed calls fbean.register_bean('CUSTOMERS.FORMSMAPBEAN',1,'oracle.forms.fbean.FormsMapBean')
    Does anyone have an idea what might be happening or how to make this work? Has anyone implemented an Applet within a Bean Area?
    Thank You In Advance,
    Justin

    My pleasure. The procedure and code that I used to create a dynamic image Bean is the following. Please note however, that I am in no way a Forms developer and will probably not be able to answer Forms questions. Here it is:
    1) I created a Java Class (Bean) called FormsImageBean using JDeveloper which extends oracle.forms.ui.VBean. The code looks like this:
    *FormsImageBean is a simple bean that takes 1 argument via the method, getImageURL,
    *which returns an ImageIcon from which to build a Swing Applet from.  FormsImageBean
    *extends Oracle Forms VBean such that the Swing applet can be used in a bean area.
    *Because FormsImageBean does use sockets to reach outside of the applet (and Form) it
    *must be signed or allowed via the java policy file in order to run in a public environment
    * @author Justin Lokitz
    * @version 1.0
    package oracle.forms.fbean;
    import java.net.URL;
    import javax.swing.ImageIcon;
    import oracle.forms.ui.VBean;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import javax.swing.JLabel;
    import java.awt.Image;
    public class FormsImageBean extends VBean
    private JPanel jPanel1 = new JPanel();
    private JLabel jLabel1 = new JLabel();
    public static ImageIcon img = null;
    public static String UrlStr = null;
    * default class constructor for FormsImageBean
    public FormsImageBean()
    try
    jbInit();
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    * Takes 1 argument and returns ImageIcon from URL.
         * @param name ID
         * @return Returns ImageIcon via URL parameters
    public ImageIcon getImageUrl(String id){
    try{
    //create image
    UrlStr = "http://www.foo.com?id=" + id;
    URL url = new URL(UrlStr);
    img = new ImageIcon(url);
    catch (Exception e)
    System.err.print("Something happened when trying to get get the image. Error: " + e);
    return img;
    * Initialization of the Swing applet
    private void jbInit() throws Exception
    jLabel1 = new JLabel(getImageUrl("135"));
    jPanel1.add(jLabel1, null);
    this.add(jPanel1, BorderLayout.CENTER);
    2) I deployed this code as a JAR file, along with dependent JARs to the $DEVELOPER_HOME/forms90/java directory and signed the JAR using the java keytool.exe. I also updated the formsweb.cfg with the new JARs.
    3) Next I created a form with a BeanArea called FormsBeanArea and referenced my full class, "oracle.forms.fbean.FormsImageBean", for the "Implementation class" property in the FormsBeanArea dialog.
    4) After many tests, it worked.
    Best Regards,
    Justin

  • How to add property through managed-beans.xml

    Hi,
    I am trying to take a hard coded value property from managed-beans.xml file. I tried using :
    <managed-property>
    <property-name> filename </property-name>
    <value> xx </value>
    I called getProperty("filename"); from one of my bean classes and it did not recognise it.
    I am not sure how to do this one. any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    I'm not sure what getProperty method you are referring to in your original posting. Is this a method on your managed bean class?
    Managed beans are implemented as regular JavaBeans so you will need to add a setFilename(String) and getFilename() method to your backing bean class to get this to work correctly. The setter method will get called automatically when the bean is first instantiated, either by accessing it from a JSP value-binding expression as a result of calling context.getApplication().getVariableResolver().resolve(context, beanName) where context is an instance of FacesContext and beanName the name of the managed bean as specified in faces-config.xml. You can then use the getter method to access the property value from within your application code.
    Alternatively, if you don't want to implement a JavaBean class, you can specify java.lang.HashMap as the managed bean class and use myBean.get("filename") to access the property instead.
    Hope this helps.

  • Add listener to work with weblogic

              hi
              i make a administration question:
              now i work with the weblogic into the default port,7001.
              and i would like to work whith another port , such us port 80 . I find into documentation in weblogic into the section Setting WebLogic properties , the sub secction Setting up WebLogic to listen on port 80 , but this not talk about add listener, only how to listen by the other port.
              is there any document to solve my problem
              or knowing somebody the solution?
              any help will be appreaciated

    weblogic.system.listenPort=80
              Or are you asking how to get it to listen on both ports at the same time?
              If so, I do not believe that feature is supported. What are you trying to
              accomplish?

  • How to fetch data in a grid format in a bean area in forms 6i?

    Hi,
    I need help from all the gurus and experienced persons in forms 6i. I am trying to build form which will have some text fields and a bean area which will display the records that I had entered. Basically following is the basic form structure I am trying to develop
    1. There will be a search form which will have two text fields 'Emp ID' and 'Emp Name' and two buttons 'New' and 'Find'.
    2. Let there be another form which will have a bean area which will display the following columns in it in the form of a GRID
    a. Emp ID
    b. Emp Name
    This form will also have two text fields 'Emp ID' and 'Emp Name'.
    3. When I press 'New' in the search form then the second form should open and it will be blank. I can enter data in the text fields and save the form. The grid area (bean area) should be blank.
    4. When I open the search form again and enter the 'Emp Id' I just created in the above step and click the 'Find' button then the next form should open and the 'Emp Id' and the 'Emp Name' text fields should be populated with the data I created in the step 3 and the bean area should also display the record in the form of a grid.
    I am ok with all the parts except for the bean area part. Can you help me hpw to develop the form with the bean area and fetch data when searched for and display it in the form of grid?

    But still I would like to learn about the Bean being used in the Oracle Forms. I am not familiar with Java at all. So it would be very helpful from your side if you can give me some sample on how to use bean area in forms and fetch records in that in the form of a Grid.You don't need to know anything about Java in order to implement a Java Bean in your form. You simply need to know how Oracle Forms interacts with Java Beans and the When-Custom-Event trigger used to interact with Java Beans.
    Francois Degrelle has a great web site (Oracle Forms PJCs/Java Beans) for learning how to use Java in Forms. I recommend you get started here. The biggest hurdle you will encounter is setting up your App Server or your local Forms Builder installation to use Java Beans. For some reason, Oracle has retired many of the documents on OTN that walked you through this setup. However, I can assume that you have access to My Oracle Support (MOS) since you are working with EBS 11.5.9. You should be able to find everything you need in MOS to help you set up your environment.

    How to add an issue if you are a responsible manager of a child wbs ? I have some projects with lots of child WBS and these child WBS is managed by others project managers (or others responsible managers), different responsible manager from the project. I'd like the others responsible managers could add/edit/delete issues in their WBS's. How to do that ?

    Hi Yves
    try to type at the end of your query the following

    The above error caused the server to use all available memory and required a reboot to proceed.
    Subsequent testing against the Sun Appliucation Server 7 on Windows 2000 dev environment using the Sun Studio IDE for debugging and trace statements inserted in the code indicate that the Application Server is removing the Stateful Session Beans when they time out without an ejbPassivate event and without serializing the beans to the data-store. cache-idle-timeout-in-seconds set to 180 and removal-timeout-in-seconds set to 1800.
    The server.log indicates that the beans are timing out:
    [19/Aug/2004:18:15:10] WARNING ( 1664): [NRU-com.telstra.nodeman.ejb.AddressMaintBean]: IdleBeanCleanerTask finished after removing 2 idle beans
    Trace statements inserted in ejbPassivate do not appear in the log.
    It is my understanding that the above timeout should have caused an ejbPasssivate and serialization of the beans.
    The beans have been validated using Sun Java Studio Enterprise 6 with 'EJB validate'.
    My reading of the problem is that the beans are not being serialized and the error occurs when the application attempts to reference (getHandle) the bean after timeout.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks Thorick.
    I am using NRU caching. WL 7.0 SP2.
    I have not defined idle-timeout-seconds in my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. As I understand

    time. Below is the
    weblogic-ejb-jar.xml that I am using.

    which stateful session cache type are you using ? LRUCache or NRUCache

  • How to disable and enable a java bean area's visability?

    I have a large javabean area on my initial canvas when first dispalying my form.
    When I use the SHOW_CANVAS('canvas name') to display another canvas, everything looks fine except that the javabean from my previous canvas is still visible and covering up portions of this new canvas.
    So I tried using the set_property visible for the javabean area in the form and it only got rid of the surrounding edge of the javabean area.
    Last I made some set_custom_property values to send to the bean that would then use java calls to enable and disable the beans visability.
    But once the beans visibility was disabled in Java then it wouldn't come back after the calls to enable the visibility and refresh the bean were made through Java calls.
    Is there any other ways of disabling and enabling a java bean area's visability?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Hello,
    Maybe the bean is always display because of its particular paint() method ?
    Anyway, without any reflexion, I could suggest you to set the bean item width and height to 1 pixel when you don't want to display it. (Set_Item_Property)

  • How to embed excel in java bean area on oracle forms 9i?

    Hi,
    I am trying to embed excel in oracle forms 9i using java bean. I want to open excel sheet in the bean area not as seprate application. Means i donot want to excel running separately from forms on the machine.
    If any body knows the solution please reply.
    Best regrads,

    Hi
    Is it possible to create a java bean, with a click event which populates data from database table to an excel sheet.
    The data(can be obtained in a string format with delimiters, but can anyone help me in exporting this into an excel sheet). and also to provide user to take prints of the data in the excel sheet.
    If Print of the JTable could be done(by settin printable as this), but this involves unwanted buttons to be printed, and entire table is not available in the spread sheet format.
    Thanks in Advance

    feel this problem is with oracle9i forms.As far as I recall - Oracle 9i forms is operating on a top of another special/internal servlet. I can't really recall, since I've been working with Oracle 9i forms 2 yrs ago. So total procedure looks like following:
    applet -> Oracle 9i Forms servlet -> my servlet
    instead of
    applet -> my servlet
    I think this is an actual reason why your signed applet can't work with your servlet.
    Oracle 9i servlet has a number configuration files, I think among them you should change smth to get your construction working. Another approach would be to use servlet filtering before calling Oracle 9i servlet
    Hopefully it will help
