Add null value

I need to update several AD user accounts with the following:
Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase 'ou=Active,ou=Students,OU=People,dc=domainr,dc=com' -Properties userPrincipalName | foreach { Set-ADUser $_ -UserPrincipalName ("{0}@{1}" -f $_.name,"domain.com")}
This works fine, but I only want to update the records that are empty/blank.  How do I apply a search/apply for only those with a null value?

Fausto and Clayman2, thank you for replying.  I've added the changes:
Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase 'ou=Active,ou=Students,OU=People,dc=domain,dc=com' -Properties userPrincipalName -Filter "userPrincipalName -eq $null"| Set-ADUser -Whatif -UserPrincipalName ("{0}@{1}" -f $_.name,"domain.com")
But now get the following error:
PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase 'ou=Active,ou=Students,OU=People,dc=domain,dc=com' -Properties userPrincipalName -Filter "userPrincipalName -eq $null"| Set-ADUser -Whatif -UserPrincipalName ("{0}@{1}" -f $_.name,"domain.com")
Get-ADUser : Cannot bind parameter because parameter 'Filter' is specified more than once. To provide multiple values to parameters that can accept multiple values, use the array syntax. For example, "-parameter value1,value2,value3".

    Hi!
    I have a SharePoint Server 2013 with latest updates. Worflow Manager 1.0 installed and configured correctly. The server has a website, site temblate is Reacods Center. This site is default. On the site I created a blank Document library "TestLib"
     If I create workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013, workflow works normally. Workflow set Title of element to "MyCustomTitle" and Write to History string "Done!".
    If I create Empty Solution in Visual Studio 2013, insert into solution Workflow and make same actions, my solution at deployment step fails with error:
    "error occurred in deployment step 'add solution' value cannot be null Parameter name: g"
    Please, help me to resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    What if stop this service, then start it again, perform an iisreset? It will make the change applied to the whole farm.
    Also, you can check the ULS logs to see if there is any unexpected error occurs when deploying this solution.
    About how to check the ULS logs:

  • Null value handling in LOVs

    Has null value handling improved any in HTMLDB 1.6?
    If my LOV has "Display null"=Yes (default null value is %null%) and I need to pass in a database NULL to a After Submit process, I need to do add a After Submit computation for each of these LOVs with something like
    CASE WHEN :P1_ITEM='%null%' THEN NULL ELSE :P1_ITEM END
    I have a couple dozen LOVs on a page and it is getting tiring to go and do this on each and every one!
    Is there a better way?
    Thanks

    Hi Patrick,
    we are currently moving over to Apex 4.02 and are doing some smoke tests on our existing apps.
    I have come across an issue with your generic solution to the %null% issue above (incidently, for a long time it's the first piece of code I include when I start a new app... thank you!)
    We found that a lot of our SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query) reports were failing due to the session state of the LOVs still having a session state of %null% even after the RemoveNulls application process had run.
    After debugging your generic process we found that the LOV_NULL_VALUE in the APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_ITEMS view has changed from NULL to '%null%'.
    so the fix was as below:-
    BEGIN
        FOR rItem IN
          ( SELECT ITEM_NAME
              FROM APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_ITEMS
             WHERE APPLICATION_ID   = TO_NUMBER(:APP_ID)
               AND PAGE_ID          IN (TO_NUMBER(:APP_PAGE_ID), 0)
               AND LOV_DISPLAY_NULL = 'Yes'
               AND LOV_DEFINITION   IS NOT NULL
    -- change here
               AND LOV_NULL_VALUE  = '%null' || '%'
        LOOP
            IF V(rItem.ITEM_NAME) = '%null' || '%'
            THEN
                Apex_Util.set_session_state(rItem.ITEM_NAME, NULL);
            END IF;
        END LOOP;
    END;Cheers,
    Gus.. (always a fan of your work!)

  • Null Values from a Data Source

    This is more of an implementation question than a
    troubleshooting question. Also, since I've been unable to find any
    documentation on this I was wondering if anyone has come across
    this behavior or found a bug with it.
    Yesterday I was working on an application to explore some
    proof of concept aspects of Flex for an application I'm developing.
    I started running into a problem with Flex Data Services throwing
    back an 'Unknown Property: "clientaddress1"' error whenever I tried
    to update data. It seemed that whenever I tried to update a record
    in the database it would thrown the Unknown Property error. I spent
    a good chunk of the day trying to figure out what was causing this
    and finally gave up and called it a day.
    This morning I was reassessing what the problem was and
    trying to find the differences between my database and my code and
    I stumbled upon the fact that I could add no records and modify
    them without a problem, however if I tried to access an existing
    record and update it I'd get the Unknown Property error.
    I start analyzing the database and found that I'd configured
    the database to use null values for empty values and the records
    that I created with the database had null values, however, any of
    the values inserted from Flex were inserted as blank values. As
    matching my action script class as clientaddress1 = ""; So, upon
    further testing I fould that Flex was not processing the null
    values correctly, so that when it came back and rightly generated a
    Conflict Error...and then called AcceptServer() it was unable to
    find the clientaddress1 property of the class.
    Also, if any of the properties in the database are null it
    throws the same error. Basically it seems to have invalidated the
    object just because one value was null. So if all of my values from
    the DB are set to something and only one field is set to null it's
    still throwing the error on the first alphabetical item of the
    properties.
    I can resolve the problem by not using null values in the
    database, but...what sort of effect would this have on someone
    working with a large legacy database that extensively uses nulls
    for undefined values?
    Also, if a Flex guru could explain the reasoning for this
    happening I would greatly appreciate it!
    Best regards,
    Chris Maloney

    I realize that I didn't clarify that I am using ColdFusion
    for getting the data. This class was generated by the Create CFC
    wizard in Flex Builder.

  • Null values in Numeric fields of Datasets

    I am wondering if anyone has run into this problem before and
    checking to see if anyone has an elegant solution.
    I have a rather large data set. (actually 5 of them on a
    single page) I am sorting certain columns in a table as numbers so
    i assign the variable " ds1.setColumnType("somenumbercolumn",
    "number")" In most cases Spry works great and it sorts by numbers
    properly. The problem is some of the fields in the XML file are
    null and I am trying to sort them as a number. Spry actually
    adjusts for this (as far as i can tell) and treats them like a 0
    which isn't exactly ideal considering there are real zero values in
    the data. I know spry doesn't currently format numbers:
    So here is my question. Does anyone one have a solution to
    fixing null values in a table so that it is still sortable but
    doesn't display a "0" and instead displays something like "--" or
    whatever. I have the option of editing the XML file as well, but I
    still need the table to sort by number.
    If not null values, how about non numeric fields which can
    still be sorted in a numeric column?

    Hi,
    We have an old post that raised a similar problem with yours.
    The post can be found
    here
    For you situation, you should add an if condition for the
    rows that have 0 and to add a custom string instead 0.
    for (var i = 0; i < numRows; i++)
    if(rows
    [ "field_name"] == 0)
    rows[ "field_name" ] = '--';
    Hope this helps you,

  • Need help Take out the null values from the ResultSet and Create a XML file

    hi,
    I wrote something which connects to Database and gets the ResultSet. From that ResultSet I am creating
    a XML file. IN my program these are the main two classes Frame1 and ResultSetToXML. ResultSetToXML which
    takes ResultSet & Boolean value in its constructor. I am passing the ResultSet and Boolean value
    from Frame1 class. I am passing the boolean value to get the null values from the ResultSet and then add those
    null values to XML File. When i run the program it works alright and adds the null and not null values to
    the file. But when i pass the boolean value to take out the null values it would not take it out and adds
    the null and not null values.
    Please look at the code i am posing. I am showing step by step where its not adding the null values.
    Any help is always appreciated.

    //do something

    From your post I see you are using a 3rd party package to access the Excel SpreadSheets, you will have to look in your API for you 3rd party package and see if there is a method that will identify a blank row, if there is and it does not work, then you have to take that problem up with them. I know this is a pain, but it is the price we pay for 3rd party object use.
    In the mean time, you can make a workaround by checking every column in your row and seeing if it is null, or perhaps even better: check and see if the trimmed value of each cell has a lenth of 0.

    Hi,
    We have a DSO with a info object in the Data fields. The char info object has the data type DATE and most often it has the null value. but some times  it has data in it.
    When ever we were trying to run a report on the DSO it throws a error  as  ORA- 01722 INVALID NUMBER.
    we tried editing PSA data and placing 00000000 for null values - and had a message  invalid date.
    suggestions pls

    Hello,
    Please check the note given below
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1327167.
    If null value is the problem,  change the query setting for not to show the null values. Just add a filter in ZDAT to exclude "NULL"

    Hi Mario.
    Assuming that you want to avoid uploading of records having

    Create a startroutine for transfer rules and add this coding:
    DELETE DATAPAK WHERE VALUE = '0'.
    OR
    LOOP AT DATAPAK.
    IF DATAPAK-VALUE = 0..

  • Problem with QofQ and Null Values

    Just converted from CF5 to CF7. Finally figured out what was
    causing the error message :
    "The value "" cannot be converted to a number" when running a
    QofQ. It happens whenever there is a NULL (and I think a ZERO)
    value in the QofQ. I'm using the QofQ in a seperate chart program.
    The main query merges data from a store and a region table.
    I'm doing a LEFT OUTER JOIN to combine the REGION with the STORE,
    AND so that stores with NO SALES for a given day will show up as
    ZERO. On the main report, when I don't use a QofQWhen grouping by
    DAY or MONTH, I can test the value in the CFOUTPUT for NULL or ZERO
    and display "0" or "N/A" on the report.
    But when I try to chart it, using a QofQ to read in the
    values from the main query, and format the numbers, I get this
    error message. I've tried using the CAST function, using FLOAT,
    DOUBLE, BIGINT, etc., but still get same error message.
    The only way I could fix this is to add a WHERE statement to
    the QofQ, that only includes sales values greater than ZERO. But
    then, I have gaps in my chart because stores with NO SALES for a
    given day or MONTH don't appear. Because they are removed from the
    query. The whole point of LEFT JOINS is to include items with no
    values (or NULL) values.
    Does anyone know if it's possible to keep these values in a
    QofQ? So that items (e.g., store locations in my case) with NULL or
    ZERO values for some or all days or months can be charted? Even
    with a ZERO value? I've read everything I can get my hands on
    regarding QofQ, the CAST function, etc., but nothing seems to work.
    Thanks for any help. (FYI, didn't have this problem with CF5. It's
    QofQ could handle NULL or ZERO values without providing an error).
    Gary

    Well, I tried the IsNull function on the 3 SUM() values I was
    calculating in my SELECT statement (on a LEFT OUTER JOIN QUERY),
    and I STILL got another "cannot convert "" to a number" but this
    time the error message was more direct, and pointed me to a DATE
    field in my query, where I was SORTING AND GROUPING either by DAY
    or MONTH (depending on what user selected on form).
    In my QofQ, I'm not just reformating the integer SUM()
    values, but also the date values. So, I applied the IsNull()
    function to the DATE values in my main query. I still kept getting
    errors. But after experimenting ((SQL Server BOL docs doesn't give
    ISNULL() examples for DATE FIELDS, only NUMBER fields), I tried
    putting the dates in SINGLE QUOTES in my IsNull() function, the
    QUERY RAN. Then I wasn't sure WHAT date to enter, e.g., 1/1/1889 or
    1/1/2001, etc.
    Then, I discovered, after experimenting, that you cannot just
    blindly enter ANY date when using IsNull in a date field,
    especially if you are using CFGRAPH to chart the results by day.
    You have to select a date within the date range the user selected,
    so this means using the FORM.DATE (or URL.DATE) value from the
    form. Here's the working example from my SELECT main query:
    SELECT SUM(ISNULL(d.ttldb,0)) AS SumOfDB,
    SUM(ISNULL(d.ttldbv,0)) AS SumOfDBV,
    SUM(ISNULL(d.ttldbi,0)) AS SumOfDBI,
    <CFIF '#url.reptype#' IS "DAILY">
    ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date1#') AS depday
    <CFELSE>
    month(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#')) AS TranMonth,
    year(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#')) AS TranYear
    </CFIF>
    Then I discovered that whatever date was used in the URL.DATE
    field (in my case it would be one of the two date field from the
    form, and depended on whether you coded DATE1 or DATE2, the chart
    would always show ZERO values for that date. So I tried putting the
    IsNull() date values in the GROUP BY and ORDER BY statements, e.g.,
    <CFIF '#url.reptype#' IS "DAILY">
    GROUP BY ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date1#')
    ORDER BY ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date1#') DESC
    <CFELSE>
    GROUP BY year(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#')),
    month(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#'))
    ORDER BY year(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#')),
    month(ISNULL(d.depday, '#url.date2#'))
    </CFIF>
    And this worked. The report ran just fine, and the chart
    charted every value correctly.
    I guess you have to learn all the little "quirks" about CF7
    and how it's QofQ and chart programs work. But so far, so good.
    Thank you all for your help. Now I've got to update other old
    CF5 programs that are returning errors when there are null values
    from my LEFT OUTER JOIN queries. Will take some time, but at least
    I know how to do it. Thanks to your help.
    I really appreciate your time and efforts to help with this
    issue.

  • Missing XML elements are no longer treated as NULL value (MDM 7.1 SP04)

    Hello,
    We have a problem with importing XML files with missing XML segments (and hence missing XML fields) in XML file.
    In MDM 7.1 SP03 (7.1.03.72), missing fields within a missing segment (so no tags at all for segment and fields) were still represented in the import manager as NULL value in the value mapping, making it possible to do value mapping and to import this NULL value into MDM (overwriting existing values in MDM).
    As of MDM 7.1 SP04 (we are running 7.1.04.126) the missing fields within an missing segment are no longer represented in the import manager as NULL value in value mapping!
    I don't know if that's a new 'feature' in SP04 but we are now running into following problem:
    - We are importing customer data from ECC into MDM, where some segments are optional
    - The fields within the (optional) segment are mapped to a multi-valued tuple field
    - When we now import a customer that has values for the optional segment, the tuple field gets filled correctly
    - When the optional data is now removed completely from the customer in ECC, we don't get that segment anymore in the XML file (this is how the Idoc works on ECC side, if all entries from the optionel segment are deleted then the complete segment is missing in the XML file)
    - In SP03 we replaced the existing tuple records with the NULL value (leaving 1 empty tuple record, but this is known issue to SAP, so we've accepted this for the moment)
    - In SP04 we cannot replace the existing tuple records anymore, since when complete segment is missing, the fields within that segment gets no value at all (in source values). So we are not able to replace the existing tuple records with NULL/nothing, leaving the 'old' tuple values in MDM!
    Does anyone have solution for this (that also works with SP04)?
    We already tried to replace the complete record in MDM (instead of updating it, this is possible since we always get the latest (and complete) status of a customer), but we are also mapping the remote key, and hence you are not allowed to replace the record during import!
    Other solution could be to have PI add any missing segment into the XML message, but we first want to make sure that this cannot be handled within MDM Import Manager itself.
    Thanks in advance,
    Marcel Herber

    Hi Marcel,
    I haven't tried it with XML file but i hope it may help you.
    long back i need to send one field with value null if it doesn't come in source file and if it comes then original value.
    What i did, i loaded a file which does not have this field, so in MDM Import Manager, under source hierarchy i created a field say ABC and map this field with target field and its value Null with Null, i also save this property in map using configuration options-->Automap fields when loading map = Yes
    So whenever a file come with missing field ABC, automatically this field get created and mapped with target field and its value Null with target Null.  on the other hand, If this field actually comes in Source File(Delimited, Excel) ABC then this field with its original value gets map with target field value. That time it worked fine.
    Just try and revert with result if it helps..
    Else, using PI is the best option to create that missing segment into the XML message.

  • How do I pass a null value to the reportDocument?

    I'm using CR 2008 and VS 2005.
    I am using a stored procedure as the datasource for one of my report, which we run using the C# API.   The stored procedure is expecting a NULL in certain cases and I find I cannot pass a NULL with my current code:
    // Here I get the parameter
    // If we are dealing with an empty string or a NULL value, let's give it
                            // a value of a space so that Crystal's DLLs don't choke.
                            if ((value.Length == 0) || (value == "NULL"))
                                value = " ";
                            arrParams.Add(value);
    Object strParam = arrParams<i>;
    this.reportDocument1.SetParameterValue(num, strParam);
    The stored procedure parameter type is INT so in the report it shows up as NUMBER.
    How do I get a NULL value to the stored procedure?
    Thanks.

    See if this does the trick:
    Dim crParameterDiscreteValue As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue()
    crParameterDiscreteValue.Value = Nothing
    C# would look something like;
    CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue crParameterDiscreteValue;
    crParameterDiscreteValue = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue();
    crParameterDiscreteValue.Value = null;

  • HELP NEEDED !! Null values in Database

    Hi there !!
    I need help with EJB 3.0 passing null values to database. The situation looks like that :
    I have created EJB entity class called "Osoba.java", it is in relation
    with "Rola.java" (one to many). Each Object of class Osoba can have
    many Roles. Then I created "OsobaServiceBean.java " I included it with
    metod "CreateUnregisteredOsoba(Osoba , Boolean)". From "flex" level I
    call this bean - call is accepted, and as a result new object of class Osoba is added to database. Problem is that only one column is filled in table,
    dispite that in service bean I enforce it to fill all columns (see
    source code - file OsobaServiceBean.java , method
    createUnregisteredOsoba() )
    I provided source code here :

    The row numer 1 is added by hand and it works. row number 33 and 32
    are added to database by method CreateUnregisteredOsoba. As you can
    see fields login as well as Roles and RoleGroup are empty (NULL). What
    Im doing wrong ?
    Thanks for your help -

    PS. Table Osoba works fine - everything is added as I want.

    I solved problem.
    The reason why EJB had not added anything to database NULL was becouse wrong names of class. Ive refactored whole class Rola.java to RolaClass.java and suddenly it worked.
    True reason is still unknown but most importent is that it works.
    Thanx for reading topic - hope next time someone will answer my questions.

  • In which case composite primary key allows NULL values in it

    Hi to all
    In what case composite primary key allows nulls in it.
    Let us suppose, I created a composite primary key with 2 attributes.
    CREATE TABLE sample
    BNK_Id NUMBER(6),
    BNK_Name VARCHAR2(20),
    CONSTRAINT BNK_Id_Name_PK PRIMARY KEY(BNK_Id,BNK_Name)
    When it allows null values in it.
    thanks in advance

    Are you sure that your instructor was not talking about unique keys? As Solomon said, a primary key always implies not null on all of the columns of the PK. However a unique key does not automatically imply not null, and can have nulls in a column as long as the values in the populated columns are unique.
    SQL> create table test (
      2     id number,
      3     pid number,
      4     descr varchar2(10));
    Table created.
    SQL> alter table test add constraint test_unq
      2     unique (id, pid);
    Table altered.
    SQL> insert into test values (1, null, 'desc1');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into test values (2, null, 'desc2');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into test values (2, null, 'fail1');
    insert into test values (2, null, 'fail1')

  • Null Values in a unique key in a Merge????

    We have OWB 9.2.0.2.8 and Oracle 9i
    I have a Mapping with a Source table (A), a Target table (B) and an Insert/Update Loading Type.
    I make a Match by constraint with a “unique key” in the Target table with two Fields: Field1 and Field2
    The problem is the Field2 could be NULL then If I have In TABLE A (Field1: XXX and Field2: NULL) and in TABLE B (Field1: XXX and Field2: NULL) it don’t match because Field2 has NULL value and the INSERT fails.
    I need to use a NVL function. For example:
    UPDATE
    ….
    ….
    ….
    Where nvl(A.Field2,’*’) = nvl(B.Field2,’*’)
    I could create a NVL to TABLE A (Source) with a “Expression object” but How can I create a NVL to TABLE B.
    I need to generate the nvl(B.Field2,’*’) part of the instruction nvl(A.Field2,’*’) = nvl(B.Field2,’*’).
    How can I do it???
    Thanks very much!

    Hi Claudio,
    well, I have an solution although it is neither nice nor clean...
    * Add a column Field2_notnull to Table B with not null-constraint and same type as Field2
    * Add a check-constraint to Table B like this: "nvl(Field2,'*') = Field2_notnull"
    * Create a UNIQUE KEY on Table B's Field1 and Field2_notnull and use this constraint for the MERGE-Load (INSERT/UPDATE)
    * Coming from Table A, use Field1 and nvl(Field2,'*') for the match
    As I said, neither nice nor clean, but it works, as long as you can manage to fill Field2_notnull in Table B correctly.
    Best regards
    Andreas
