Sysprep File General Question

Good afternoon,
I'm trying to get my deployment share to actually work correctly... Background is this.
Before we had a deployment share we created the image by doing this.
Step 1. Load OS onto ref machine
Step 2. Create sysprep answer file using AIK
Step 3. Syspreped machine and shutdown
Step 4. Captured image using clonezilla.
We then created a deployment share but could never get the sysprep file to apply correctly so we said screw it and put it up on the share un syspreped. This creates a few issues. Mainly with SUS and DC's.
So I decided to finally look more into this and it turns out there is this LiteTouch.wsf file I need to invoke from the reference machine. Doing this and seeing the image file work was amazing... However it still does not apply certain things.
For example, the copy profile true... No matter where I seem to stick this in the sysprep file it does not get applied. Here is what I have done
Step 1. Loaded my image from Clonezille Pre Syspreped and updated it to the newest windows patches(Including IE 11, I removed IE settings from the sysprep as that is known to cause issues and I really don't care about IE at this point, I can customize
that later). Not all machines sit in a domain hence why copy profile needs to work... I could use a local GP..
Step 2. Created a sysprep and capture task
Step 3. ran LiteTouch.wsf and captured the image
Step 4. Swapped out images in my current OS deployment task
Step 5. Imaged using LiteTouch boot CD
I then verified the SID's were different and they were. I then noticed that NONE of my profile settings came down. Is there some kind of log I can be looking at? I looked at the setupact log and I don't even see the word CopyProfile in
it, like it's not processing that part of the answer file or it's not processing any of it. Am I missing something easy?
I would like to not sysprep my reference machines twice...

I believe the file is formatted correctly, I'm clicking edit unattend.xml file from the deployment share and the only thing I'm adding is copy profile=true from the template. I'm doing it thru the GUI and not editing the file
I know the changes to the profile get applied outside MDK and when using sysprep.exe to deploy images(using your own answer file and shutting the machine down) it works fine. The minute you use that setting inside MDK with a custom image it fails.
I followed this little tutorial and the most common mistake I made.. That was my original problem. Sorry for being so vague. I don't really know what facts you would need. That's why I offered to post logs and/or answer files.

Sorry for coming off a bit snarky in my first post... I was getting frustrated with my problem. In general MDK is by far the best thing I've used for deployments. It's so versatile. My company still makes an image for every machine
from scratch!!! I'm trying to change this with MDK. I have been using it for years but this is not my primary job function. I do everything from application packaging, to desktop support, to spec'n out SAN systems, managing ESXi environments,
etc etc. This is good and bad. It's good because I know a lot about the whole infrastructure but I don't get enough time to focus on anything longer than a few hours max.

Attachments are Related Objects till R17. So it can not be seen in Full-Edit Mode.
In R18, one attachment is available at the Object Level.

Delete scriptcode - General question: capacity limit of Acrobat Windows

Hello everybody,
I've got a general question to the capacity limit of Acrobat Windows.
I often make forms with
for instance the current one has 18 pages. Eleven pages have fields on it. (But some pages have only one field on it) The fields of one page to another are sometimes linked with script code. The file needs nearly 1 MB.
Usual I write the script code by a double-click on the field/ calculate/ custom calculation script. (Is this the right way?) Today it happens again that a field with script code lost the script code.
That's why I wonder whether there is a capacity limit of Acrobat Windows or whether I make mistakes. (This is only one instance of several where the form has his own life.)

There are four general causes of this issue:
1. The computer's PRAM no longer contains a valid startup disk setting when there aren't any problems with the disk itself. This can be checked for by pressing the Option key and seeing if the drive appears.
2. The internal drive's directory structure has become damaged. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to perform the repair.
3. Critical system files have been deleted. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to reinstall them.
4. The internal drive has died or become unplugged. This is the most likely case if the computer took a sharp impact or there are unusual sounds coming from its location.

Cannot open existing Project File - General Error

I recently copied some FCP 4.5 projects from one drive to another (drag and drop) due to drive space issues. I did NOT use media manager to do this. I did not delete any files before I went back to try and open the project in the original location. Instead of the project loading, I got the "General Error" message. I could not open the newly copied version either. I deleted all rendered files I could find, no luck. My scratch discs are not located in one area (since some have been moved too), and I wonder if the links have gotten scattered. Does this have anything to do with this problem? If one moves an existing project's scratch disk files to another location, will it cause this problem? Any help will be appreciated. My deadline approaches quickly.

Moving project files shouldn't mess things up, unless you've updated FCP version.
I see you're on Tiger...have you been able to work FCP 4.5 projects on that OS/QT, in the past?
Moving the scratch files will drop the link, but you should be able to 'reconnect media' to get them back, provided you can get your project files to open.
Have you tried opening an autosave version of the project files in question?

Migrating from procmail to sieve, general question

Hi,
I want to migrate a Mail-Server from 10.5 (postfix, procmail, cyrus) to 10.6 (postfix, sieve, dovecot) and have a general question about sieve.
The current setup on this server is quite complex with procmail-rules.
But there is only ONE procmailrc which delivers the mails as wanted (about 120 Pages of rules).
It looks like procmail isn´t maintained any more and I want to use sieve.
I read a lot of infos about sieve but can´t find an answer to this question:
"How to setup sieve to use only one sieve-script-file for all incoming AND outgoing messages?".
The above mentioned procmailrc handles incoming AND outgoing mails (e. g. Mail TO AND FROM customer X is also delivered to all users being in the group X (these groups are maintained in a FileMaker-solution and the procmailrc is created via a Script in FileMaker)).
With procmail I only had to set up the /etc/procmailrc to include "my" procmailrc. I didn´t need to setup procmailrc-files for every user (about 80 user with a quite high fluctuation, so this is not an option).
Where is the config-file I need to add an "include "my" sieve-script" with all rules (as I did with procmail)?
Does Sieve also handle outgoing Mails?

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

General question on SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

I just have a general question on migration from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g using SQL Developer.
How does it migrate Users with proper privileges from SQL Server to Oracle? Follow the interface steps? Or should the users be created on destination Oracle side?

Hi,
It depends which type of migration you are making.
For a 'Standard' migration when you migrate data a 'create user' statement is created as part of the migration and you will see this in the generated code.
If you are using the 'Quick' migration option then you need to create the Oracle user or use an existing user to receive the data.

Report Builder Question - OA AR Aging - and a general question

I'm sure this is the wrong forum for this question, but I thought there might be someone here who might be using Oracle Applications and Report Builder who'd be kind enough to help me out.
We've recently implemented Oracle Applications 11.5.10 and I have to use report builder to change the Accounts Receiveable Aging (7 bucket) to a 5 bucket report. I've already made some changes to the seeded "ARXAGMW.rdf" report, but I'm not a big Oracle Reports guy. I've stumbled through making some changes in various other reports. But this one is just plain nasty! :)
I was thinking that I could simply add buckets 6 & 7 to bucket 5, then just hide or delete the 6 & 7 buckets. But I'm not sure where to even start. Any help with this would GUARANTEE a Christmas or other holiday card this year! :)
I really want to keep this simple as possible, so any help would be very....helpful. :)
Oh, my general question is: Are there any resouces/books for Oracle Reports (Report Builder)? I feel so lost trying to modify existing reports, let alone creating new ones.

I am working on the 7-bucket aging report and i want to add a new field in data model.
As the query is build dynamically, i have modified the function BUILD_CUSTOMER_SELECT to meet my requirements.
But the problem is that in the data model, the field is not present in my Grouping. and if I try to add the field in the Data Model query (Q_ Customer) section,

General question about iTunes Match and multiple libraries

Hello to everyone,
I have a general question about the iTunes Match service, which is available since yesterday in my country (Italy). Currently my library situation is the following:
Computer A (desktop, Windows 7): "big" iTunes library (about 20 GB), at the moment not associated with my Apple ID
Computer B (MacBook Air 2011): "small" iTunes library (about 5 GB), associated with my Apple ID
At the moment, both my iOS devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2) are synchronized with the smaller library on the MacBook Air.
Question is as follows: should I subscribe to iTunes Match, would it be possible to upload the "big" library (provided I associate it with my Apple ID) to iCloud while keeping my devices synchronized with the "small" one?
Ideally, at the end of the day, the situation should be the following: both iOS devices with music from the small library + possibility of downloading songs from iCloud (coming from the big one). Is this possible?
Maybe the question sounds stupid, but I want to be sure about this before paying for the service.

Yes, you could also associate your larger library with iTunes match if you associated your Apple ID with it. However any purchases in the library made from another Apple ID will not be matched with iTunes much.
If both libraries are part of iTunes match, then all your devices will see all of the content from both libraries, which content you choose to have on those devices and which you have accessible via iTunes match is entirely up to you.

Need some info on general question

Hello everybody!
This question for those who already works as a Java professional. I just don't have a clear picture of how can you apply java programming language in real working environment, in theory I can imagine, but I need a solid understanding so that I would spend all the time moving in right direction. Do they use Java for writing some applications for some, let's say, financial institutions. I can write simple application which will connect to some RDBMS (SQLServer,Oracle, whatever you have) and perform extracting, changing, deleting information, but I can do all this stuff only on my user computer, I am just college student. How do you implement this in real environment, do you have first to install Java Runtime Environment on all user computers and install those java applications which will be working with database? What about middle-tier concept, what this all about? I happend to have interview in one company but I failed to answer on middle-tier topic. As I understand it's better to change some procedure in one place than changing apps on all user computers, how you deal whith this, this is so far not clear for me. I have never seen how users launch their apps in financial institutions (exe. files - popular question on this forum), how does this system works, or may be they use for this purpose different language like C++. What about internet, they say java was created whith internet in mind... Oh my god, I have so many questions on how you can use Java in real world, not just for fun. Hope somebody can explain it to me in plain English.

Here is a real world example (its a project I've been working on for about a year).
Its a 3-tier client server system. This means there are 3 parts of the system:
1. SQL Server database on a remote server
2. Middleware java application running on the server
3. psion netBook clients (handheld devices) running a Java application
The actual system itself is used for remotely capturing dental information on the netBooks. At the end of the day the user can dial-up to the server where the database resides and update the database with info captured on the netBook. The user can also download a group of patients from the server to the netBook client.
The purpose of having a middle tier (or middleware), is so that any server-side changes will not impact on the client side, and vice versa (at least thats always been my understanding).
To create this architecture I used the JDBC API (for database processing, middle tier), and the RMI API (for networking, middle tier and client tier). Alternatively I could have used CORBA instead of RMI.
I beleive (although I'm no expert on this), that servlets can be used to create a similar kind of thing through a web interface (i.e. a database on the web server can be updated through a web page). Hopefully someone can confirm this for you.
And of course there are applets, that are simply java appications running on a web browser.
I would imagine that the majority of industry work done in Java is with client server apps either with servlets (web) or a backend on a server somewhere.
If anyone would like to correct me please do...think I've got most of this right.

Press the power button down to force a emergency use only hardware shutdown.
Press and hold the Option/alt key on the built in keyboard, boot the machine.
If MacintoshHD appears, select it and click the arrow, then in System Preferences > Startup Disk reset that. Done.
Sometimes a NVRAM reset is required then the above done again.

You might need this if you don't have a recent backup and your problem is software related, Disk Utiltiy can't fix the drive and recommends you backup, erase and install.

Where to direct a general questions about foreign films subtitles?

I recently purchased a foreign film "Break Ke Badd" from the iTunes store. Although, it didn't specify that it had English subtitles, I assumed it did. After the full download, I tried to watch it and there weren't any English subs. I contacted iTunes and they more than happy to refund the money back to my account. Now after a few weeks, the iTunes store DOES list Eng subs for this film. I don't want to purchase it again and have to contact iTunes for another refund...Therefore my question is, is there a general question contact one could use to find an answer to my question. Basically, to verify that this movie, indeed has English subs before I re-purchase.
