Add packages using installation cds , post installation of os

Hi,
Please guide how to find packages & add them once the os installation is already over, using the installation cds.
Specifically, I want to know about adding the SPROcc package to get the c compiler.
Though I installed Solaris 10 x86 using the option "entire software distribution group " installation , still pkginfo SPROcc is not able to get any information about it.

The Sun pro compilers are not part of the OS and are not on the OS installation CDs. They're a separate product.
If you need a compiler, the Sun Studio 11 suite is here (http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/cc/products/get.html), or GCC is installed in /opt/sfw/bin.

I have a minimally installed Sun Solaris system. I need a lot more functionality on it, like developper tools.
I know how to install a packege. The problem is finding out which packages to install. The installation CD contains a whol ot of SUNW* packages with cryptic names, and when you try to install one of them I usually run in to dependency problems.
So is there a convenient way to do the following:
- Given I need a particular tool (eg /usr/ccs/bin/as )
- Find out what package that tool belongs too
- Install that package and all its dependencies automatically?
Under Linux (an Os where I do have somewhat more experience) this is a trivial exercise. But how do I do this under Solaris?

I know I can just try to install a package using pkgadd and see where it breaks. But to do this I first have to know what package to install. That is the first problem. I need "foo", how do I find out what package contains "foo"?
Searching for sollutions I came across a concept called "metacluster", which is aparently sun's way of packaging lots of related stuff together. I found out that the metacluster installed on my system was "SUNWCuser" and that I probably want it to be "SUNWCprog". But I have no idea how to get there.

Adobe AIR 1.5 - Package AIR installer as a native Windows Executable (.EXE)

Hello Adobe AIR community,
Is there any way to package the installer for an Adobe AIR application using Adobe AIR 1.5 as an executable (.EXE) file?
I found that this is possible for Adobe AIR 2.0, but it requires an upgrade to Adobe AIR 2.0 runtime. Are there any other options using the Adobe AIR 1.5 runtime?

I am running Lion (OS X 10.7.4) and trying to reinstall iLife06, a .mpkg file, using Installer.app. I get a message "You can't open the application iLife06.mpkg because PowerPC apps are no longer supported." Is there a work around?? Thanks in advance!

The only workaround would be to purchase the current version of iLife apps from the App Store.
Lion doesn't support the old PowerPC architecture anymore, which is what iLife '06 was written for.
If the internal apps are universal, right-click on the mpkg and choose Show Contents. Then, dig through and run the specific installer package for each application.

I have followed ML NOTE: 270512.1 and I am able to add clusterware on second Node
When I have tried to "Add the RAC software to the new node" at time I am getting bellow error

"Add Operating System Installer Wizard" Throws Error When Adding OS's

Good Afternoon All -
Okay - I just installed SCCM 2012 in our production environment - whoo hoo!
Going through the initial setup and configuration, I had a few errors that I had to take care of, but was able to figure out what caused them OR just uninstall / reinstall them fixed it. I've got a new issue I can't figure out, though.
On my SCCM 2012 Primary Site Server, I created a folder named Images and shared it to my SCCMAdmin account (full) and SCCM Admin group (full). Inside of it, I created sub folders for each of the OS's that I want to have installers for. For now,
I am working with Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64.
In the console (signed in as SCCMAdmin), I go to Software library, then Add Operating System Installer Wizard. I type in the UNC path going to shared folder, then sub folder holding the ISO file and click Next. I then get an error saying
"The specified path does not contain a valid operating system or you do not have permission to access it. Specify a valid path."
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but here's what I've tried to fix it so far...
- Tried pointing it to a folder with the ISO's contents extracted as well as to the Sources folder
- Downloaded the ISO from TechNet so that I know it was fresh - nogo
- Tried adding a Windows 8 ISO I had laying around - nogo
- Checked folder share permissions as well as security ones. I even gave Everyone full access - nogo
- Checked SCCM component and site status - green across the board.

Sorry to bring up a relatively old post, but wanted to relay my experience with this same problem. In my case, I knew all permissions were correct, but I received the same error message. Turns out the problem was that I had only copied the
install.wim file to my Images directory. I then directed SCCM to the Images directory and got the error message. The reason for the error was that SCCM is looking for the folder structure that is on the DVD, namely, the "sources" directory.
By the time I figured this out, I had already copied the entire "sources" directory to the root of my Images directory. I moved all of these files under the Images\Sources directory and went ahead and copied the rest of the DVD to the Images directory.
After doing that, I was able to complete the wizard as expected. Hope that helps someone to not have to waste the same 2 hours that I just did. :)

MSI Package Software Installations and uninstallations by group policy and sccm

            I have a domain comprising approx. 30 ADCs, 5000 clients and 50 OUs. Our developers have created a c# Program for fetching some information from client machines and displaying them on their
screen on bootup (presence of 2 particular softwares, antivirus presence and its update date, OS patches updation etc... ). This program(.msi) and .net framework 4.0 is required to be pushed to all client machines. We have SCCM server through which we can
push software to be installed on clients. There are no. of ADCs for controlling different sites and OUs. Now I need to push this msi and .net framework to all clients. Dotnet framework I pushed from SCCM & it is successful.
Till today I have pushed this .MSI package using Group policy software installation settings using a local sharepath & sysvol.
In Local Share path , MSI source is availbale at only one ADC and all clients contact this adc only to install software and its taking very long time to boot.
Using Sysvol share path , MSI Source is available at All ADC and All Clients Contact their Site's ADC to install software.Only Win 7, win 8 machines are getting install and software is not able to install on XP and vista machine. What might be the
problem for xp machine getting it from sysvol path?
The error for XP machines is that Sysvol path is not accessible/ source is not available.
   Now I need to have some other fullproof method to apply it. How I need to push this .MSI packages to all sites (ADCs) in my child domain from my PDC.
   I want to know the steps & methods for installing & uninstalling this .MSI package using Group policy and SCCM as well.

Based on your description, I want to confirm whether we have more than one domain. If we have more than domain, it is suggested that we can push the
MSI package from each domain.

I mean what happened if you run the command on a folder which contains an update and another update which deprecates the another one?
And what will happened if you have installed an update and try to install an update which is deprecated by that update using DISM?

Repair your Apple Software Update:
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

May i know how to get a list of computers that have been installed with sapgui710 from the installation server?
Is this possible? if not, then how to find out which computers that don't have sapgui.

If all your users log into a BW system you can get the information out of it.
If you have a Desktop or Software Distribution Team you may be able to get the information from them.

Billing using Installation Group

Hi,
Following is the scenario :
I have created two Devices 1 and 2. After technical installation of both the devices,Serial switching relationship maintained between 1 and 2 with 1 as the Main register and 2 as the Secondary register.
With ES32, Primary installation and Secondary installation are created. For the Primary installation, Grouping type is assigned.
For the Secondary installation, the installation role and Primary installation number are assigned. Different Rate categories are assigned to these primary and secondary installation. Rates are maintained with correct vairable programs suitable for installation group.
Configuration (Define Billing Rules for Installation group) is setup in such a way that only data exchange happens from Secondary to Primary (i.e) Consumption-relevant.
Billing relevant installation (EG34) of the secondary device is done against the secondary installation.Billing relevant installation (EG34) of both main and secondary device is done against Primary installation. This was done because the system insists
that both the devices in the register relationship should be installed in the primary installation.
Move-in process is executed for the both the installation, as a result, two different contracts created.
Meter reading results are entered for the Secondary Installation. Because of the Register relationship maintained, Meter results are entered for the both the registers.
Device1 : 150 kwh for the month of Jan
Device2 : 100 kwh for the month of Jan
While billing is executed (EASIBI) for the secondary installation, system calculated amount for 100 kwh.
Now, When I execute billing for primary installation, system throws the following error :
"Device 1 Register 001 has negative consumption deduction".
Expected behaviour is the system should calcuate for 50 kwh (150kwh - 100 kwh).
Can anyone help me to understand why this error occurs ?

Hi ,
If you are using Installation grouping in that case you do not have to define serial switching relationship between primary and secondary register.
In case of Installation grouping ,billing relevant installation for Primary device is done at primary installation and secondary device is installated at secondary installation.
Please remove serail switching relationship and also correct the billing relevant installation for primary & secondary device and then try to bill both Installation.

How to create ADD-ON using AAK tool

Hi Experts,
We have ECC (ECC6 EHP4 SP03 ) system in our landscape having AAK tool (AOFTOOLS 400_700 SP00). Presently we have developed a package and need to create an ADD-ON using AAk Tool. Can you please Guide us how to create ADD-on.
System Information:
Kernal version : 720_EXT_REL PATCH 600
SP LEVEL : SP03
Please provide us Pre and Post steps for creating ADD-ON, also provide us any documents and SAP standard NOTES.

I don't know if you are still looking for the answer if yes then below is the location to get documentation for AAK tool.
1. Go through SAP Note 921103 , this note has all the info for installation of add-on.
2. This document is useful to understand the concept although is looks like taken fro standard SAP documentation video.
3. SAP provide few SIM file which display steps in a video. i don't know if you got it or not i have them in case you need i can send it to you.
I hope this is enough information for you to create Add-on.
