Add tcode to large number of roles

Hi all,
Is there a way to add a tcode to large number of roles (around 20) using pfcg? It would be great if I can do it once instead of modifying role by role.

Yes, You can actually write a ABAP program, but bottom line is that you cant edit more than one role at a time in PFCG.
The program would also have to edit one role at a time

How to add a large number of keywords to the e-mail filter?

Hello.
I would like to know how to add a large number of keywords to a filter.
The thing I want to accomplish, is it to add around 4000 e-mail addresses to a filter list, which checks the body of incoming e-mails, which get forwarded to me.
I don't want to outright delete them, but I would love it if it detects that the forwarded message contains one of the e-mail addresses, it would add a tag to the message.
Is it in any way possible to make a filter like this, which doesn't slow Thunderbird down to ass-crawl speed?
I tried to copy the whole list into the small filter tab, but It had no discernible effect on my messages, since some of the previously received ones, which I was sure contained the keywords, were not tagged. All it did was make the program super slow and I was forced to delete the filter.

Project Server 2010 - large number of security categories

I am searching for somebody who has experiance with a large number of security categories.
I am talking about a number of 1000 different PS security categories in one instance.
Beside the forseeable usability issues, are there any technical side effects which could appear?

thanks for your reply, specially for the technical remark what I was looking for.
Ofcause we have investigeted in all other options (RBS, ProjectsPermissions, simplify the security concept, discussed the requirements and discussed the process, trainings, departments).
Finally we have for this customer the challange to have multiple roles in multiple projects. But with the restriction not to add some permissions based on the different roles and the Project Server Standard security options.
One example: We have a user which has two roles (commercial manager and team member). The role can only be assigned to the projects team because all other options are not possible (owner, status manager and all RBS options). This user must act in the first
project as a commercial manager with more rights then when he is assigned in a second project only as a team member. No greyzone is allowed.
The final analyses for this requirement was (and I dont beleive there is an other possible way):
Define for each commercial manager a own security category and list the projects where he can act as a commercial manager.
Remember: All other ProjectServer security possibilities are impossible ( in our point of view).

Limitation on number of roles in oracle menu or segmentation fault in menu

Hi All,
Is there any limitation on the number of roles we can have in oracle menu? We are having around 300 roles created in our menu and after that if we try to add new role we are not able to compile the menu file. In the windows the form builder closes abruptly and in Linux it gives us segmentation fault error. Did anyone face the problem? Also if there is any solution then please provide the same.

I just wonder how many forms do you have that you needed to create 300 roles. We normally create a role for one set of users. It means you've 300 different set of users for your application !!.

A simple way in sending message on a large number of contacts?

Is there a simple way in sending a large number of contacts? I mean, i'll send my message on a group, i.e. "hello" to "classmates" group. I know it is present during ios4 & 5 version? Why now on ios7? How's that? Some of my contacts are changing new numbers so i can't add them to my inbox.

When a device that is connected to an icloud account has it's contacts deleted, the same contacts at icloud.com are also deleted and then the changes propagate to other computers and devices also connected to the same icloud account. In other words, the contacts are deleted everywhere. Also, any iOS backup to icloud does not include contacts or any of the other Apple data, like calendars, reminders, etc. The only way you can get that data back is if it was on a computer which has been frequently backed up. You restore the data from the backup. (This reference to "backup" is a local backup, it has nothing to do with icloud.)

Creation of Large Number of Workbooks within short span

Hi,
In my Production server, User has created many Workbooks for their convenience.
Now, I am working on upgrading project. I want to create same amounts of workbook to my Development server. I know how to create but as quantity in thousands and connected with respective roles.
I would like to know if, there is any process to create workbooks other than usual manual process.
(I can check the list and not availability of Workbooks from TABLE AGR_HIER and after creating I can check the existence in same table.)
If any, let me know... shorted method to create lots of workbook in less time.

How to calculate the area of a large number of polygons in a single query

Is it possible to calculate the area of a large number of polygons in a single query using a combination of SDO_AGGR_UNION and SDO_AREA? So far, I have tried doing something similar to this:

0.0005) calc_area from dualThe table MAPV_GRAVSTED_00182 contains 2 fields - geoloc (SDO_GEOMETRY) and dblink (Id field) needed for querying specific polygons.
As far as I can see, I need to first somehow get a single SDO_GEOMETRY object and use this as input for the SDO_AREA function. But I'm not 100% sure, that I'm doing this the right way. This query is very inefficient, and sometimes fails with strange errors like "No more data to read from socket" when executed from SQL Developer. I even tried with the latest JDBC driver from Oracle without much difference.
Would a better approach be to write some kind of stored procedure, that adds up all the single geometries by adding each call to SDO_AREA on each single geometry object - or what is the best approach?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I am now trying to update all my spatial table with SRID's. To do this, I try to drop the spatial index first to recreate it after the update. But for a lot of tables I can't drop the spatial index. Whenever I try to DROP INDEX <spatial index name>, I get this error - anyone know what this means?

Edit - just found the answer for this in MetaLink note 241003.1. Apparently there is some internal problem when dropping spatial indexes, some objects gets dropped that shouldn't be. Solution is to manually create the sequence it complains it can't drop, then it works... Weird error.

How do I create new versions of a large number of images, and place them in a new location?

I have been using Aperture for years, and have just one small problem. There have been many times where I want to have multiple versions of a large number of images. I like to do a color album and B&W album for example.
Previously, I would click on all the images at one, and select new version. The problem is this puts all of the new versions in a stack. I then have to open all the stacks, and one by one move the new versions to a different album. Is there any way to streamline this proccess? When it's only 10 images, it's no problem. When it's a few hundred (or more) its rather time consuming..
What I'm hoping for is a way to either automatically have new versions populate a separate album, or for a way to easily select all the new versions I create at one time, and simply move them with as few steps as possible to a new destination.

in addition to Kirby's and phosgraphis's excellent suggestions, you may want to use the filters to further restrict your versions to the ones you want to access.
For example, you mentioned
I like to do a color album and B&W album for example.
You could easily separate the color versions from the black-and-white versions by using the filter rule:
Adjustment includes Black&white
or
Adjustment does not include Black&white
With the above filter setting (Add rule > Adjustment includes Black&White) only the versions with Black&White adjustment are shown in the Browers. You could do similar to separate cropped versions from uncropped ones.

Trouble copying a large number of objects using Acrobat X

Acrobat X is many times slower than Acrobat 9 when copying a large number of objects in a PDF. What used to take one second in Acrobat 9, now takes upwards of 45 seconds or longer in Acrobat X and often causes the application to crash. I am using 10.2.1 on OS X 10.6.8. Has anyone else experienced this performace difference or have any solutions? Any thoughts on the subject would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Since you do not want to crop your images to a square 1:1 aspect ratio changing the canvas to be square will not make your images square they will retain their Aspect Ratio and image size will be changer to fit within your 1020 px square. There will be a border or borders on a side or two borders on opposite sides. You do not need a script because Photoshop ships with a Plug-in script to be used in Actions. What is good about Plugins is the support Actions. When you record the action the plug-in during action recording records the setting you use in its dialog into the actions step. When the Action is played the Plug-in use the recorded setting an bypasses displaying its dialog. So the Action can be Batch. The Action you would record would have two Steps. Step 1 menu File>Automate>Fit Image... in the Fit Image dialog enter 1020 in the width and height fields. Step 2 Canvas size enter 1020 pixels in width and height not relative leave the anchor point centered it you want even borders on two sides set color to white in the canvas size dialog. You can batch the action.
The above script will also work. Its squares the document then re-sizes to 1020x1020 the action re-sizes the image to fit with in an area 1020 x 1020 then add any missing canvas. The script like the action only process one image so it would also need to be batched. Record the script into and action and batch the action. As the author wrote. The script re size canvas did not specify an anchor point so the default center anchor point is uses like the action canvas will be added to two sides.

Adding a custom stamp to a large number of files.

I need to build a batch process to add a custom stamp to a large number of PDF files. I want to do this without displaying tne files. I'm not sure where to go to learn about how to do this. I've found some sample Jscript code for the for stamps but don't really understand how to invoke the code in a batch process. Thanks for th guidance. Bianca

It should be noted the "Batch Processing" is only available with the Professional or better versions.

I read a artical from SDN it discribes the process of maintating Orgnization Authorization in saperate Role. This helps to reduce the no of roles been created. Below is the discribtion. And I tolly agree with the concept . Read below .

As of my understanding we need to isolate all Auth objects from a role and make a saperate role specially only for Org structure. And then give combination of those Org Roles to provide access for those Org Units.
My Question is
1) how do we Identify all Auth obejcts that give access to a Org unit from a given role.
2)How to make a role that gives Authorization for a perticular Org Unit only. (And that role should not have any authorization for Tx or activities)
3)What is recemmended to maintain Org unit Authorization ? Is Bolt-onu2019s mehod suitable to maintain all Org Unit Authorizations?

I agree 100% with Jurjen. It can work well but in the vast majority of times I have seen them, they have led to reduced control, reduced auditability and basically been a mess. SecureInfo have a tool which builds roles in this way but it also has appropriate controls in place too.
If you look at the following scenario:
You have a functional role and an org role.
If you have org roles for each func role then you are in the same situation as you are with derived roles.
If you start to combine auth objects to build a bigger org role then you are assigning additional auth objects over and above what the transactions in the func role require. We all know that to properly secure something, you need to control by auth object so in this case you are already potentially opening yourself up to giving excess access.
6 months later you want to remove a tcode from the func role. If you maintain std SAP method properly then the auth objects will also be removed too if it not shared. With lots of these objects in the org role then you will need to cross check every single tx in the func role with every object in the org role. Most people don't bother & that's one of the reasons why this build method can get very, very messy as you lose the link between t-code and object that SU24 provides.
I've used this method in BW a few times & it works really well, but for R/3 it usually ends up with more trouble than it solves. There are situations where is can make things easier but I would only use it as a supplement to a standard method role build.

Need to blacklist (block) a large number of domains and email addresses

I tried to import a large number of domains into a transport rule (new/set-transportrule -name xxx -domainis $csv -quarantine $true).
I added a few domains manually and tested to make sure the rule was working. It was. Then I ran the cmdlet to import a small number of domains (4). That also worked. Then I ran the cmdlet on a large number of domains. The cmdlet
worked with no error message (once I got the list of domains well under 4096 bytes). I waited a day to see if the domains would show up in the rule. But the imported domains did not show up.
Is there a better solution to blocking large numbers of domains and email addresses? Or is the transport rule the only option?

Optimize a large number of pdf files using Acrobat Pro XI

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and need to optimize a large number of scanned files and other pdf's that are quite large. Is there any way to optimize multiple files at the same time, or do I have to do them one at a time (a major bummer if this is the case). I read on the forums that Acrobat Pro 9 had this capablity, so I can't imagine that a newer version wouldn't have it. Thanks for your help.

You can use an Action to process multiple files in Acrobat Pro XI, via Tools - Action Wizard.
Add to it a Save command and there you'll be able to specify that you want to optimize the file.
