Add thousand separator as user types

Dear all,
Is there anyway we add a thousand separator on the TextInput
as user is typing a number there? Could anybody give me a hint on
how to do this?

number formatter class has thousand separator on by default,
so let's create one instance of it:
<mx:NumberFormatter id="nfWithThousandSep"/>
I did the formatting on valueCommit event:

you might want to do the same thing on key down or up.

AFAIK, the system dictionary is not one of the items syncronized between the two devices when using iTumes for that purpose.

Thousand separator in RFC-type-based field

Hi everybody,
I am developing a WDPJ application where every input field is bound to an R/3 RFC data type.
An automatic validation is performed on the data type (i.e. if the user types 'hello' in a numeric field an error is displayed).
I would like the field to automatically validate also thousand separators just as in standard R/3 transaction (i.e.: 3.000 is ok, 3.00 is not ok, where thousands separator is dot). Actually the validation simply ignores the thousand separator if not in the proper position (3.00 becomes 300).
Can anyone please help?

Hi,
I assume that you have already written some validation code for this field in Webdynpro Java. If your requirement is to validate the number of zeros after the . then you can user StringTokenizer or String.split() and find the number of digits after the thousand separator.

Help - Add Thousand Separator to Whole Number

I am unable to figure out how to add a thousand separator to a whole number. I guess removing the decimal places from a decimal number would work as well. It is driving me insane. Example - I have a decimal number 1,299.00 that
I would like to show as 1,299. If I change it to a whole number it shows 1299. I can't find where to show the thousand separator and make it 1,299.

Unknown User Type Error using Add-AzureAccount

Using the following code in an Azure automation runbook from the Portal (attempting to start a VM):
workflow VMStart

I attempted to install the Azure Powershell using the instructions here:

Upon completion I was unable to find Azure Powershell from Start/Programs:
I then attempted to re-install Azure Powershell. Initially, it came up with the error: "There was an error loading custom feed: 'http://www.microsoft.com/web/webpi/2.0/ToolsProductList.xml'. Error: 'ProductId PHP not found.'."
I clicked OK and WPI indicated that the Azure Powershell would be installed. I clicked INSTALL and WPI showed Azure Powershell in the list, but the Total File Download size was 0MB. I clicked I ACCEPT and it immediately blinked back that Azure
Powershell was installed.
When I clicked FINISH, however, the following was displayed:

I did attempt to open the regular Powershell and use the command Get-AzureVM, but the following error was returned:

Add/Update user-type (Custom types) .jar while the server is still running

Hi!
I'm connecting from a .NET App to the cache server so I have to create the java version of my user-types, I compile this classes into a jar file and I send that in to the class path when the server starts:

What happen if I want to add a new custom type while the serer is still running ? Do I just have to replace the jar file ? is this going to be reflected on the server since it is already running.
If I have to stop the server then what should I take in to account to avoid data losing ?

Hi,
Yes, using all the default out of the box Coherence POF support, you would need to restart the cluster to pick up any changes.
Do you really need the Java classes on the server side? Depending on what server side functionality you are using you might not actually need Java representations of the .Net classes. For example, if these are you entities that are being cached and you are never calling code that deserialises them, then there is no need for Java classes.
You could potentially write your own implementation of a POF Serializer (PofContext) that is used on the server side that can dynamically add and change classes.

Custom thousand separator for decimal values.

Hello esperts,
I have a a WD app with a decimal context attribute, I have already a Simple Type that formats the decimal so the thousand separator is a coma (,) and the decimal separator is the dot (.)
I want to know if it is possible to change the thousand separator to dot and the decimal separator to comma without changing the user's language. Or even use whatever character I want to be the thousand separator e.g. @ | ¬ whithout changing the data type (decimal).

I dont want to use calculated fields, nor strings because I need the values of the decimal attribute. I will be desplaying these decimal values through a table and sorting functionality is a must. So as you should know, if I have 1, 2, 3, 20 and 100 and convert them to string, on sort it will be incorrect because of string sorting ( 1, 100, 2, 20 and 3).
Basically my requirement is to be able to change the decimal presentation without changing the user's locale or language. I don't know if that's possible.
Say, I select an option on my application that says "comma separated thousands", the decimal values will be presented this way ###,###,###,###.00 or when the user selects the option "dot separated thousands", the decimal values will be presented like this ###.###.###.###,00. I already tried to format the last reprersentation but I get java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Malformed pattern. I have already checked the DecimalFormat API, so I know the pattern is incorrect, still I'm looking if by chance I'm forgeting something else to do in order the application to work as I spect.

Please help! Can't make commas (thousands separator) appear in numbers

I open Pages. I type in a number (123456). While cell is still selected, I open Inspector and select Cell Format = Number. I then check the Thousands Separator checkbox. It does NOT put commas in my number.
Any help greatly appreciated!

A couple of thoughts:
First, make sure you have US formatting as the default for numbers (not the program Numbers) in System Preferences > International > Formats.
In the table inspector click on Format & make sure the cell is formatted to number & press Enter/Return/Tab to move out of the cell & see if it "takes" then.
If none of that works, it could be corrupt preferences. Quit Pages & then delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences.

The thousands separator in the US (where the OP is) is a comma & the decimal is a period/full stop/dot.

According to your description, I have tested in my environment and I have the same behavior.
Only if you type the wrong name in the first time, then you click the phone book to search the right name and save, it will stuck. It means if you do other operation(e.g. type the wrong name then click “resolve” button, then search in the phone book) and
repeat the operation above, it won’t stuck.

How to authenticate multiple user types in WLPortal7

We're using WL Portal SP2, so we're running in compatibility mode.
We'll have a number of different user types accessing our portal. Regular users
only need present a username/password pair. Users with additional privileges will
have an extra PIN code to supply to gain access to extra resources.
We seem to have two approaches to develop, I was wondering which seems the best?
1. Have 2 authentication providers for the realm, the second taking all 3 credentials
We look at the name/password decide (how???) that a particular user needs to supply
a third credential before calling Authenticate which uses both providers to make
a decision. But we almost need to know aspects of the customer profile in order
to prompt for the PIN.
Can you call authenticate more than once if different credentials are supplied
after login? If so how do you get the different providers to set different principals
in the subject? And also, how do you specify the sequence in which the providers
are called?
2. All users authenticate the standard way with username/password. After login
we look up a profile type and if that says so, gather and check the PIN code.
This seems a lot simpler but we have to put in place all our own PIN checking
outside the security framework, which seems to be at odds with JAAS etc.
Any similar types of requirment out there ?

setting a higher leven node where all the needed nodes for the users meet definately works, but its exactly what I am trying to avoid, since directory is large and it has hundreds of nodes and we only need two of them , I have tried adding two openLDAP authenticators, but it then breaks both and NONE of the members are able to login anymore, I think it has to do with settings for control flags ? I have both set to SUFFICIENT? is that the reason? if I have only one openLDAP, SUFFICIENT works fine,as soon as I add one more openLDA authenticatior users do get pulled fine from both of them, but neither of them get authenticated any more;( can anyone sugges on better combination?

"unknown user type" exception when the object don't exist for i/p key.

I'm using Coherence REST service(comes with the Coherence bundle) to validate my cache data.
When I hit the cache for a valid key, I get data returned back. But for the object that don't exist in the cache I get "Internal Server" error.
I'm fine with "Internal Server" response show in the browser, but I don't want it to be printed as part of my coherence logs.
For example, when I hit the REST url for key that don't exist in the cache, I get below exception in coherence logs.
How can I get rid off it (or) suppress the exception logs.

How to put SPACE thousands separator

Hi there, I'm thinking how to format following numbers, eg: (integers)
150000
2000000
and I would like to export them as CSV file from sqldeveloper to MS Excel and displaying them like =>
(with space separator)

2 000 000
without Excel (formatting), so since beginning, Excel will see it as number with space thousands separaors

This is an Excel problem. You'll have to do something inside Excel to recognize that column as a number and display it with spaces.
As you pointed out, Excel's default behavior, when it sees an embedded space in the column, is to treat the column as text.
Excel's default behavior (at least on my system) is to use ',' as a thousands separator, if it uses a separator at all.
If that column is going to contain spaces and be treated as a number, then you need to override Excel's defaults.
This is an Oracle forum You may get lucky, and find someone who knows enough about both Oracle and Excel to solve your problem completely. I'm sorry I don't know enough about Excel to do it for you. The most you can expect from an Oracle forum is for someone to show how to produce a certain type of CSV, but you'll have to spell out exactly what that CSV has to contain.
For example, if you can find some string of characters that tells Excel "the folloiwng column of the CSV is a number, and should bne displayed with spaces as the thousands separator", then someone in this forum can help you produce that output with that string of characters in Oracle.

"Manage Users" IR report displaying incorrect user types

Found a couple of question-raising things:
1) User type is showing "Workspace Administrator" for almost all users (many are only users) with a couple identified as "Developer" (who really do only have developer privs turned on). If I knew the sql for the IR report I might find the problem - checked wwv_flow_fnd_user and wwv_flow_developers and they both look OK (no recs in wwv_flow_developers for the end users and those with given admin privs are marked as admin, etc.). Did find one dup group name but removing it didn't seem to have an effect.
2) Trying to find out what is going on I found the second: It appears that if you have assigned more than one group to a user (apex group to apex user), then add the group_name column to the Manage Users IR, you get the "single row subquery returns more than one row".
Haven't found any other posts here on this. Any ideas?

After taking the IR sql and working it I found the following:

There seems to be a problem with the outer join between wwv_flow_developers and wwv_flow_fnd_user which brings non-null values for d.is_admin and d.is_developer (and for us these are 'Y' if there are no matching records in wwv_flow_developers.
Changing the decode for DEV_TYPE to use a nvl for d.userid to set all users to end user if they are not in the wwv_flow_developers table fixes the display of user type.
Now I am guessing this is a data anomaly rather than a bug. Anyone have any ideas on why the outer join to wwv_flow_developers shows a not-null value for is_admin and is_developer?

Thousands separator when displaying year in dashboard prompts

In our reports, when we include just the year field in prompts, they display with a thousands separator (e.g. 2,012 for the year 2012)
Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this. We are on 10.1.3.4 but any hint would be helpful.

Change the year column data type to INT in the physical later. Or you can change the column properties of the column in Answers.
