"Manage Users" IR report displaying incorrect user types
Home>Administration>Users
APEX 4.0.2.00.07
DB 11.2.0.2
Found a couple of question-raising things:
1) User type is showing "Workspace Administrator" for almost all users (many are only users) with a couple identified as "Developer" (who really do only have developer privs turned on). If I knew the sql for the IR report I might find the problem - checked wwv_flow_fnd_user and wwv_flow_developers and they both look OK (no recs in wwv_flow_developers for the end users and those with given admin privs are marked as admin, etc.). Did find one dup group name but removing it didn't seem to have an effect.
2) Trying to find out what is going on I found the second: It appears that if you have assigned more than one group to a user (apex group to apex user), then add the group_name column to the Manage Users IR, you get the "single row subquery returns more than one row".
Haven't found any other posts here on this. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks Richard - forgot about the builder import.
After taking the IR sql and working it I found the following:
In this apex installation...
There seems to be a problem with the outer join between wwv_flow_developers and wwv_flow_fnd_user which brings non-null values for d.is_admin and d.is_developer (and for us these are 'Y' if there are no matching records in wwv_flow_developers.
Changing the decode for DEV_TYPE to use a nvl for d.userid to set all users to end user if they are not in the wwv_flow_developers table fixes the display of user type.
Now I am guessing this is a data anomaly rather than a bug. Anyone have any ideas on why the outer join to wwv_flow_developers shows a not-null value for is_admin and is_developer?
Steve

Summary report displaying incorrect questions.
My summary report shows the incorrect text/question from my form. I used a form template and changed the text in the questions, but the old (template) text shows up when I pull up the summary report. How do I correct this?
It looks like the choice in the "View Responses" table was likely edited and that is what is now "out of sync", the label in the Summary Report tiles match that of the View Response Table. I only see the one label for "Succinct" being out of sync. You can change that corresponding column header in the Response Table (under "Please reflect on the following attributes of Jane-Rachel in her role as facilitator:") from "Seminar location was convenient." to "Succinct" and that will update the Summary Report tile label as well. If any others don't match update them on the View Responses tab and that will update the Summary Report tiles.
If you do this, change the View Responses label to match the field, they will now be "in sync" again so that if you changed the label again in the form the View Responses column header and Summary Report tile would change to match.
Thanks,

Deluge and KDE - displaying incorrectly for one user only
My deluge (and possibly other gtk apps) are being displayed incorrectly in KDE. You can see the screenshot attached, but the thing I mostly notice is the progress bar. On my laptop, as well as any other user account on the PC in question, it's a very blue progress bar (so 100% torrents will be all blue, 0% no blue, and obviously in between as % increases). In the past I've messed with various gtk/kde rendering apps (so that gtk apps will display "correctly" in KDE), but I don't currently have any installed. I also have rm'ed the configs in question per the wiki ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … plications ). I have tried removing the deluge config for my current user and it still doesn't "fix" the issue. I've gone through kde system settings to setting all display options to default-type options (which is what my laptop is set to).
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on where I could look to fix this? It's mostly an annoyance, but I've been trying to fix it for a while now so thought I'd finally ask for some help.
EDIT: I realize this should be in the Desktop/Apps sections, so if a mod could move it for me, that would be much appreciated.
Last edited by vladthedog (2013-12-05 18:08:10)1. You said the projects were all saved "to a shared folder." Do you mean THE Shared folder? Your Mac's Users folder should list two Users, plus a folder named "Shared". Is that the folder you mean?
2. The trouble is that an iMovie project isn't actually a file. It's a special kind of folder called a package, which contains other files and folders. (To look inside the package, Control-Click on the package icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popUp menu.)
3. When YOU are the user and you create a new iMovie project, the package and everything it contains is configured with you as the owner. You are the designated owner of all the items that comprise the project. No one else can Write to the project.
4. To change that, you have to change the project package into a normal Finder folder, adjust its permissions and the permissions of all the contents of that folder, then change it back into an iMovie package.
Here's how:
In the Finder, choose Finder > Preferences. Click Advanced and turn ON "Show all file extensions".
The name of your iMovie project "My Sample Project" is now displayed as "My Sample Project.iMovieProject" in the Finder.
Remove ".iMovieProject" from the project name, removing the period. When the Finder asks, say OK.
The project package has now turned into a folder. Select the folder and choose Get Info.
Set Others permissions to "Read & Write". Then click "Apply to enclosed items". When the Finder asks, say OK.
Select the folder name again and add the extension ".iMovieProject" to the name. The folder will change back to an iMovie package.
The package will now allow anyone to Read and Write to the project.
Karl
PS: This solution isn't very handy, obviously, but it does the job. A better solution is to buy an external hard drive, and configure it to Ignore permissions. (In the Get Info window for the disk.) That lets both users save projects to the drive without permission issues. -
Report to see user type and roles assigned to users in EP?
Hi,
a) Is there any reporting mechanism in EP? Any specific report which throws up user types and roles assigned to the users? There is an option of 'Export' in the user management role but unfortunately it does not give information on User Type.
b) If the group is assigned a role, How can we see ( in any report) the roles assigned to a group? In the 'export' option of the 'User Management' this information does not come.By default Portal UME comes along with the installation of portal.
Sometimes we may integrate external users using LDAP. At that time users come from ABAP stack or some active directories. But you can also create users in the portal UME. The purpose of using LDAP is to maintain the users centrally rather than creating again in portal.
You can check them in user administration->identity management and search for the users.
THere you can see some users will be from UME and some from LDAP.
User Admin tool is nothing but User Administration only.

Hi,
I am working on a custom user management tool . I had deployed the tool in two different system. Strangely the SUIM report of the two systems are different. The user Type value is different in both the system. Can you please help me out from where usertype is retrieved in the SUIM report. i checked usr02 table in both the system and found out its exactly the same.
Thanks in advance
TashiHello Ralf,
It is obviously Service User used in MSS.

How to hide cut/copy/paste/Replace… menu on the UIWebView when it is being displayed over the keyboard.
Detail: I am having a HTML from, having text box, displayed using UIWebView. If user types in text box it shows the keyboard. Now If user tap and hold on text box it shows a popup menu. Now while keyboard and pop up are being displayed user scrolls the view. At this time it shows pop up over the keyboard which I need to hide.
I tried setMenuVisible of UIMenuController when popup rect and keyboard rect intersects each other on viewDidScroll but it didn't help me.
Any clues will help a lot.
Thanks. You are more likely to get an answer if you post programming problems to the Developer forum. This forum is intended for normal user level problems.

Campus Manager User Tracking Report - dot1xEnabled = False
The Campus Manager User Tracking Report has the dot1xEnabled field that is always false.
It was my understanding that the switch will send SNMP Trap Notifications to Cisco Works regarding the status of 802.1x authentication per port.
We have configured per port:
snmp trap mac-notification added
snmp trap mac-notification removed
and globally
snmp-server host x.x.x.x abababa udp-port 1431 MAC-Notification
With no success, so we opened a TAC case, 614376387 and we were told by TAC and the Development Engineers that this "feature" does not work in LMS 3.2 and Campus Manager 5.2.1 and that this feature will be available in the next new release.
I thought I had read on this forum that some folks have this 'feature' working, where this field shows the current status of 802.1x per access port.
Has anyone been able to get this 'feature' to work? And if so, what versions are you running and what were the 'tricks' to get it working?
Much appreciated. The MAC address notification traps only alert Campus to the fact that a MAC address has been learned or removed from a given port. That starts the dynamic UT process. With no other information, you will potentially see a new record appear in UT shortly after receiving the trap. However, that record will not have IP or username data associated with it.
To get the IP data, Campus will poll the CISCO-DHCP-SNOOPING-MIB to pull IP data. To get username data, Campus will poll the IEEE8021-PAE-MIB of the switch to get dot1x information. So, your switch must be configured for dot1x, and it must support this MIB (in particular, the objects dot1xAuthSessionTime, dot1xAuthSessionUserName, and dot1xPaePortCapabilities).
Without dot1x, hope is not lost. If the end host is running Windows and the UTLite tool, then when the user logs in, UTLite should start from their logon script, and send a UDP update to Campus with the username and IP of the host. -
"unknown user type" exception when the object don't exist for i/p key.
Hi
I'm using Coherence REST service(comes with the Coherence bundle) to validate my cache data.
When I hit the cache for a valid key, I get data returned back. But for the object that don't exist in the cache I get "Internal Server" error.
I'm fine with "Internal Server" response show in the browser, but I don't want it to be printed as part of my coherence logs.
For example, when I hit the REST url for key that don't exist in the cache, I get below exception in coherence logs.
How can I get rid off it (or) suppress the exception logs.
Thanks for your time.

How can I use Windows IAS to validate WLC management users?
I am having a problem using my Windows IAS radius server to validate management users for my 2112 Wireless Lan Controller.
I have defined the radius server and it works ok with the policy for validating wireless clients but not for WLC management users.
The Remote access policy seems to be set up correctly as the event viewer on the server shows:-

Abhishek MadanHi Abhishek,
According to your description, my understanding is that the User Profile Synchronization service stuck on ‘Starting’ or ‘Stopping’.
Please check whether you installed SQL 2012 Native Client (Pre-requisites) on SharePoint server. If yes, download and install SQL 2008 R2 Native Client from the below location:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/3/9138773A-505D-43E2-AC08-9A77E1E0490B/1033/x64/sqlncli.msi
From the SharePoint server ->control panel -> add/Remove programs , please confirm that the SQL 2008 Native Client is listed.
Make sure that the farm account is a member of the Administrators group on the server on which you are trying to start the User Profile Synchronization service, then restart the SharePoint Timer Service.
Set the FIM services to "Local System" before starting the service.
There is a troubleshooting for User Profile Synchronization Service start issues, please have a look at:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg750257(v=office.14).aspx
Here are some similar posts for you to take a look at:

There is no serialiser configured in the cache config, instead we just set tangosol.pof.enabled=true, and set the pof config file to what is seen above. The thing which is very confusing about this error is that unlike other clients which we connect, and in fact the servers they connect to, this client never attempts to load the cache configuration file. The point at which this should happen, prior to pof loading, shows:
2011-07-11 15:54:57.260/1.391 Oracle Coherence GE 3.5.2/463p2 <Info> (thread=Main Thread, member=n/a): Loaded cache conf
iguration from "jar:file:/C:/Program%20Files/Oracle/coherence/3.5.2b463P2/lib/coherence.jar!/reports/report-group.xml"
I have tried every combination of classpath entries I can think of, and no matter what, it never shows an attempt to load the application-cache-config.xml supplied in the startup. Does anyone have any experience with something like this?I guess your non-storing JAVA code does not specify -Dtangosol.pof.enabled=true and the -Dtangosol.pof.config =<POF file location> on joining the cluster. Post the startup java command and the complete logs.
If application-cache-config is not loaded then coherence-cache-config.xml should be loaded by default and set -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=<application-cache-config>

Hi There,
I have added an email address to a user in the SP Manage User Profile.
When I go to my app and search/select the user to assign against a task, no email address is shown in the peoplepicker window.
One thing, the users Display Name as "Server\Username" rather than the Display Name of Bob Smith for example.
This is a non Active Directory Environment on SharePoint 2010.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!People picker does not query the User Profile Service when resolving a name. You need a custom claims provider for that. See details here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg602078(v=office.14).aspx
There is a timer job (user profile service quick sync) that runs every 15 minutes or maybe 10 minutes, don't remember the interval without looking, against the site collection that will sync from the UPS, but you are stuck with whatever is in site collection
users until then, which will be nothing until the user profile service quick sync job runs. -
Managing User - Data Access Privileges in DRM ?
The idea has arisen that DRM may be an option for managing user access privileges - i.e. which Accounts and/or Entities they might have access to in HFM and Planning?
The idea being that users are created as a "dimension" in DRM with relationships being created between the User Dimension and the Entity / Account Dimension for access privileges?
DRM woul then generate the security profiles for uploading into HFM and Planning.
Wondering whether anyone else has entertained this idea?
Thanks in advance for any thoughtsYes, we played around with the idea as well but eventually refrained from using it because the Shared Services user/role management system is more project/app specific and the admins were more well versed with that. For example, roles related to Financial Reporting priveledges etc. could be done better using Shared Services rather than DRM.
However, metadata based user management can be done well using DRM. -
Hi
Calling gurus.
When gererating RFC users for the READ and TMW rfc's in Solution Manager users gets generated, and I know the user type is Communication user, however should you be forced to have to create your own users to use within this rfc would it be best to stick to communication user type, or could a system user type be used.
It is my understanding that logon via read rfc should not be allowed as it could be a security risk.
If I am on the wron track please enlighten me or point me towards a conclusive best practice regarding this.
Thanks in advance.Hello again Paul,
1.-
At the same 2008 manual "Activating the SAP EarlyWatch Alert on Solution Manager 7.0" yo can see on page 11 this:
...A working dialog connection such as *TRUSTED or LOGIN. Once the *BACK destination is created, these can be deleted again...
This prerequisites are need for the creation ob RFC "_BACK" on remote system, but for remote call of sdccn the prerequisites on Page 15 are not enough !!!
If you want to call remotely sdccn from solution manager you need a dialog trusted connection.
I have just tested on our solution manager 5 minutes ago, you are invited to our solution manager if you want to check it.

What about this:
My question is, Will take into account SAP this users for the "SAP Security user audit" ?

Manage user certificates with UE-V?
Is it possible to manage user certificates with UE-V? I wish to store/manage Personal Certificates with UE-V but can't seem to find information about how to achieve this. Are Roaming Profiles still needed to have user certificates follow users
or can this be hacked into UE-V. I tried to create a template which handles the HKCU and User AppData paths which store Certificates but have not been able to get this to work.
Windows 7/Windows 8 Server 2008R2/Server2012
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark RingoHi Mark
Certificates are currently not supported with UE-V 1.0 / 1.0 SP1. Just saving HKCU keys and the RSA / System Certificate files in APPDATA does not work any more since Windows Vista. You have to use a logon / logoff script which does the trick via Microsoft
CryptoAPI (Export / Import).
I have included exampled with Powershell below.
