I would like store some data in the view controller.
It is a value attribut and has the type java.util.List.
1. How can I add now many values into this attribut
2. How can I get this values again ?

            The list is similar to any value node.
You can add elements like this.
for(int i=0;i<SIZE;i++)
     IPrivate<viewname>.I<node>Element ele = wdContext.create<node>Element();
     ele.set<attribute>(" "+i);
     wdContext.node<node>().addElement(ele);
You can get elements like this:
for(int i=0;i<SIZE;i++)
     IPrivate<viewname>.I<node>Element ele = wdContext.node<node>().get<node>().ElementAt(i);
     ele.get<attribute>();
     wdContext.node<node>().addElement(ele);

I am working on a customer requirment in which customer want to see the values of field from one view in another view. The Context node & Context node attribute are the same in both the views.
I am aware that we need to pass the field values from view controller to custom controller in order to see the field in the subsequent view. I would like to kow how i can achieve that technically?

I want the fields ID_TYPE & ID_TYPE_DESCRIPTION from IUICMD/SearchAccount to be available in IUICMD/DetailAccount. I have created a context node u201CSEARCHu201D in view IUICMD/DetailAccount. I have created the context node with out choosing u201CCreate with Instanceu201D. This Context node (SEARCH) is already available in IUICMD/SearchAccount as part of the standard.
Below given is contents of the Method CREATE_SEARCH of my context class ZL_IUICMD_DETAILACCOUNT_CTXT of view IUICMD/DetailAccount, which is created by the Wizard during enhancement.

To use the appModules methods, I am creating the service interface and then I am creating the webservice proxy into another view controller project and access the appModule methods.
Now, I don't want to create the webservice proxy. I want to directly access the appModule methods.

What you mean by this. You mean having model layer in webcenter portal framework application? Whats the exact requirement.? You want to create ADF BC in portal app.

How to fire event in view controller from component controller.

I have a component usage that fires an event wich i have subscribed in the component controller.

After the event the method IF_BSP_WD_EVENT_HANDLER~HANDLE_EVENT in the component controller is called.

The usage component is opened as a popup window. After pressing a button, the data is transfered via context node binding to the calling component. But now i want to close the popup.
My intension is to fire a event for the view controller in the IF_BSP_WD_EVENT_HANDLER~HANDLE_EVENT method that closes the popup.
Is this possible?
Or let me explain it this way:
I want to close a popup after a button in the popup is pressed.

I am assuming your target pop-up is of type ref to IF_BSP_WD_POPUP.
1.Make this a view controller class attribute.
2. After the code to create the pop-up, you can add the following block :
gv_target_popup->set_on_close_event( iv_view = me iv_event_name = 'CLOSEPOPUP').
3. Now define event handler EH_ONCLOSEPOPUP where you can write the logic for on_close.
You can access the same reference gv_target_popup at the event handler level as well.

Passing SQL Server identity attributes values into adf entity objects

Hi all.
I'm using Jdeveloper 10g for developing an ADF Swing application based on MS SQL Server DB.
Does anyone know if it is possible to pass SQL Server identity attributes values into the correspondent attrributes of adf entity objects, like we do with Oracle DB Sequence.
The problem is that i should somhow implement cascade deleting of detail view objects, so i should use the composition association. But since i cant fill the primary key attribute with appropriate value (that is actually a ms sql server db sequence value) i always get
the following exception: oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25030 as i try to create a new pair of master/detail objects.

The approach is good. but i still dont understand how i can address the sql server db sequence (identity field) programmatically...
The code offered
SequenceImpl sequence = new SequenceImpl("PRODUCTS_SEQ",getDBTransaction());
setProdId(sequence.getSequenceNumber());
generates something like this:
select deq_name.nextval from dual
but this syntax works for oracle only... and not for sql server...

What version of OLAP are you using and how did you create your AW (e.g., AWM)?
Assuming that you're used either AWM or the Java API for AWs in 10g, there isn't an OLAP DML for adding a dimension member to a dimension (and have all the meta data kept in sync); you must load dimension members using AWM the Java API for AWs.
So, make your changes in the the dimension table and process that table.
For sorting, you can add a sort attribute to the dimension. Add the sort attribute to the model, indicate that it's used for sorting, add the sort attribute to your dimension table and maintain the dimension.

javascript runs on client side and you cannot assign the value to a Page attribute directly.
As a workaround,you can use an Inputfield,hidden if required,and set the value using javascript.Then the form will have to be submit to be able to read the value in onInputProcessing and then can be assigned to any variable.

You cannot remove existing input values or add new one if you have created any entries for the element

Inserting the column values into table from view through procedure!!!

below is my example code

I m trying to insert values into the table test_stg but for col6 and col7 i need to get the data from the view test2.
In simple word, all i need to do is get the 2 columns data from view and insert into a table through procedure. The above code is the example which looks very much like my actual code.
How do i accomplish this task ??

well there is joining condition for a, b,c ,d, e tables, i have not mentioned here. The where condition has nothing to do with the other two columns of the view.
There is no relation ship between the these tables the view. The col 6 and 7 i m inserting from view is sysdate timestamp and the job_id number.
so its pretty straight forward insertion into the table from view columns. These two columns has just one row with id number and timestamp. so i need to insert these data into the the table when i run a procedure.

Insert a value into bol attribut

I will insert a value into a bol attribut with the method "SET_PROPERTY".
Here is my code so far.
lr_entity ?= me->typed_context->builheader->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
if lr_entity is bound.
      lr_entity->set_property( EXPORTING
                               iv_attr_name = 'TITLE_KEY'
                               iv_value = '0100'
endif.
The problem here is, I can the in the debug mode, that the value is inserted.
But by running the debug mode again, the value of the attribut 'TITLE_KEY' is empty.
My question here is, how can I save the value of attribut?
Can anybody help me please?

It is also interessting that, after
lr_core->modify( ).
I cann't look into the bol entity builheader during debugging.
Durring debugging, ATTRIBUTE_REF(Container Proxy->DATA REF-> ATTR_REF)
Do you have any other idea?

> right click to get the "Edit Text".
Believe the TEXT can old more info than the TEXT Value itself.

Pass Data Into Second View Controller

*My Setup:*
I have a tab-bar program; I'm currently focusing on one tab, which has a nav controller
The root controller works as expected. In one of the table view selection methods (didSelectAccessoryButtonAtIndex, or something similar), I initialize one of my classes, which is a subclass of UIViewController with an alloc and custom init. Then I use the pushViewController to push an instance of that class onto the view stack.
*My Issue:*
I can't figure out how to pass the data from my first level controller to the second. I'm using a custom init method, which is an instance method because I have to pass an instance of a view controller to the pushViewController method. The data isn't getting to the second level controller, as verified by some NSLogs.
*Pseudo code:*
FirstViewController.m:
-(void)accessoryButtonPressedAtSomeIndex {
SecondViewController *svc = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithString:@"Some string"];
pushViewController: svc
SecondViewController.m:
@synthesize string;
-(id)initWithString:(NSString *)someString {
self.string = someString;
NSLog (@"string = %@", someString);
return self;
The NSLog returns NULL.
Obviously some of the code isn't valid, but I don't remember the exact methods. I can post the real code if necessary, but there are a lot of "dependencies" between files. Everything else (pertaining to this problem, although there are some other bugs in my app that I'd appreciate help on too) works. Any suggestions?

1) Didn't you forget to do
if (self = [super init] )
return self;
in an init method ?
Otherwise there is nothing to handle your string
2) Put a breakpoint and trace ..
