Added account for children, system freaking out!

I gave it a try - i added an account with very limited functionality for the kids. Ever since then my system has been freaking out! I have the fast user switching enabled so I dont know if that's the problem. Sometimes I try to open an app and I get the beach ball of death. Stuff is locking up left and right. My printers stopped printing the jobs and they just sat in the print que. For some reason I never had a start up sound when I got my mac but now I do - yet the sound comes from the tower and not through my connected Bose speakers. Weird stuff going on here folks. What's going on?

Jeremy,  Thanks for your reply.
There doesn't seem to be much detailed information on the use of Catagories with Processing rules in Help or in the forums.  So let me see if I understand your suggestion correctly.
On the MII server create a processing rule for the message using a category instead of using a transaction,  The message received by the message listener will be placed in a buffer.  I am assuming these messages whould show up in the message monitor and not in the  Data Buffer jobs/entries.
So in my transaction which normally processes this data I could add logic to access the message data; using the Message Service (Query, Read, Update and Delete) action blocks.  I could pare down the selection by selecting messages based on the MessageCategory that I defined in the message processing rule.   This will allow me to access the stored message data.
Finally use a scheduled Job to execute the transaction.  The scheduled job would be run with a valid userID and Password so if it connection to the external database failed the enteries would be placed in the data buffer jobs with a valid userID credentials.
Does this sound like what you had in mind?

  • Data Buffer error USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "SYSTEM"

All,  I have the following errors on both the Quality and the Production system in our data buffer job.
com.sap.security.api.NoSuchUserException: USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "SYSTEM" not found!
These entries will not process because they are generating an error about the loginid for the Username SYSTEM is not found.
So I am thinking that somehow the MII system is not capturing the correct username when they are being added into the Data Buffer Jobs, or there is something I am overlooking when I set up the databuffering.
Other entries that were in the data buffer jobs were listed as using the RS1000SVC-QMUSBATCH, RS1630SVC-PMIIBATCH User accounts.  These are the accounts that our scheduled tasks run under.
Those entries process OK out of the data buffer jobs.
I did notice a similarity between the data buffer jobs in the quality and production systems as it pertains to the following transactions.
Production MII ver 12.0.7 (Build 20)
    Muscatine%2FIntegration%2FSAP%2FPROD_CONFIRMED_INPUT_InsertQuery
Which is called from the MIIC1043_IDOC Message Processing Rule.
    Muscatine%2FIntegration%2FSAP%2FHEADER_InsertQuery
Which is called from the MIIC1043_Control_Recipe_Download Message Processing Rule.
    Quality MII 12.0.11 (Build 14)
    Muscatine%2FIntegration%2FSAP%2FPROD_CONFIRMED_INPUT_InsertQuery
Which is called from the MIIC1043_IDOC Message Processing Rule.
So the commonality is that these transactions are being initaiated by the Message processing rules.
Are there known issues with data buffering from transactions initiated with Message Processing Rules?
Is anyone sucessfully using data buffering of transactions called by message processing rules?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Bob

  • Apple tech helped me 60 min ago. Told me to create new account for wife. Wiped out her ipod music--now iTunes wont let me download it in her new account so I can restore her music!  Help!!

Today an Apple tech helped me 60 min ago. Although my wife and I have diff apple ID's, our music was mixing and syncin back and forth.  The tech told me to create new comp user account for wife which I did. I wiped out everything on her ipod and signed in under her ID.  When I tried to put it back I got a message that I couldn't download her purchased music for 90 days because there was another apple ID associated with my computer.  Not sure wether that means mine or hers.  What I am sure of is that I'm dead if I can't get her music back.  Please help.  Thanks,  Craig

I can understand how that would be frustrating. If you created a brand new Apple ID for her, your Apple ID should not have been affected any more than anyone else's. They are as separate from one another as your Apple ID is from mine.
Since you just bought your MacBook Air, you can certainly contact AppleCare for this, and I encourage you to do so. They will straighten it out.
Until then, if you want to troubleshoot this on your own, sign in to your Apple ID here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/
Click the blue "Manage your Apple ID" button. If it says it no longer exists or gives you other hassles, it's probably not worth your effort to pursue. Have Apple fix it.
Contact Apple starting with this link - never Google it: http://www.apple.com/support/
    Navigate the pages as follows:
Under "Contact Us" click the blue "Contact Support" link
Click the blue "Get Started" button
    Click "More Products & Services"
    Click "Apple ID"
Click "iTunes Store, App Store or Mac App Store"
Continue with the appropriate options and choose the contact method most convenient for you.

  • Trying to create itues account for children's school ipad and says does not meet min age.  Tried to go back and fix bday as was put in incorrectly and still says "does not meet min age".  How do I fix this?

I'm trying to create a new apple account for my daughter's school ipad.  She put in her bday incorrectly and said "does not meet age requirements".  We went back and put in her correct date (over 13) and still says "does not meet age requirement".  How do I fix this??

The old rule of thumb was to keep 10-12 GB free. Any lower than that and you will start to have trouble. I was very close to that for a long time and never had any complaints. Now, Lion "encourages" 20% free space (on my newer 250 GB drive) so I try to keep it with more than 50 GB free.
Do you still have the original memory in that machine too? The metal plate you have to remove in the battery compartment also provides access to the RAM. Your machine will take 2 GB of RAM, possibly 3. You definitely want to max that out too.
Regardless, you definitely need a new hard drive. When Apple switched to PC components, they had to take a quality hit. These 2.5" notebook hard drives are not very reliable. I'm surprised your hard drive hasn't died by now. I usually get a new hard drive with every major OS upgrade. A $ 50 investment every couple of years is no big deal.
Unfortunately, you (and I) suffer from being an early adopter in 2006. Those 32-bit machines only accept 2 GB RAM (maybe 3) and are only 32-bit so they can't be upgraded to Lion. Because of this limitation, you won't see as dramatic an improvement as you would with a 2007 machine. If you run more than a couple of applications, your hard drive is always going to have to be doing some VM work. My 2006 machine has even lost its bluetooth. I gave it to my brother. My very similar 2007 Macbook is still running great.
So, you must get a new hard drive because your old one is likely on death's door. If you don't have at least 2 GB - get it. If you can't afford a new machine, you might want to consider an SSD. That might help mitigate your RAM limitations. You can spend from $ 100 to $ 350 and get a dramatic speed improvement.

  • ICloud account for children under 13

I created accounts for my children with the intent of using them for some hand me down iPhones.  I want to be able to text them when they are on wifi (phones are not activated with a carrier).  However, iMessage does not seem to allow me to do this, indicating the ID has not been authorized for iMessage?  Why?

    Hey thisisbetter,
I see that you may be experiencing an issue with the Apple ID you have created. It sounds like you may need to simply verify the Apple ID in order to use it for iMessage. Here’s an article that will help you verify this Apple ID:

  • ITunes account for children

How can i set up an iTunes account for my 10 year old? Apparently, there's an age limit; he needs his own account to store his own tastes in music and games.

Set it up in your name with a separate email address, and let him use it.  When he is old enough and financially responsible enough, he can take it over himself.
After it is set up, remove your credit card details.  Load it a bit at a time, either with the allowance feature or gift cards.  Also, make sure that any device he uses has the iOS restrictions ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213 ) set to avoid rude surprises regarding in-app purchases.

  • Account for several systems?????

    Hi all,
as the Identity Manager works as a Meta Directory he saves all the information for the identity linked to an account on the resources.
How is this "link" saved inside the ID Store as it represents a resource account? Is there a multivalue field attribute in the entry type of MX_PERSON? Must I define my own "breadcrumb" for each resource in customizing attributes? Is there any standard functionality available for that or is it customizing?
I expect that the application will provide a standard for that, or does it not?
Answers and tips are welcome ;-).......

    Hi Ralf,
do you need the provisioning framework? In the job initial Load, go to the pass "writeAbapUsers", than
choose the tab "Destination" the attribute Acount%rep.$NAME% (rep.$NAme is the name of your repository) is set
according to standard under the entry type MX_PERSON. This attribut do you find in your meta directory (view MXIV_SENTRIES,
on your DB-server). In the column "attrname" do you find the attribute. This means a user have for every clientsystem
    a seperate account attribute.
In the provisioning tasks under system type specific tasks, for example AS ABAP Tasks, than CreateABAPUser you find in the
tab "Destination" the attribute "logonuid" and the value of the meta directory.
Link to the provisioning Framework document:

I hope I could help you with my answer.

  • RECENT DECEPTIVE PRICING FOR ADDING PHONE FOR CHILDREN

We recently got a phone for our daughter becauser her dad was informed by the salesperson it only costs $10 a month.  However, her dad doesn't pay the bills and did not realize there was a separate $30 data charge.  So my 10 year old daugther (whom I wouldn't let have a cell phone, but dad thought it was so cheap and went ahead and got her one) now has a $40/month smart phone, while I have a $20/month basic phone.  She only uses it for texting primarily, so you can imagine I was quite irritated when he came home with it.
One of her friend's mother's was also informed it was "Only $10" to add the phone for her daughter and is also not stuck with the $40/month bill.  I was so thrilled when the month before Verizon modified their pricing and allowed us to separate the data and texting charges (and they lowered the monthly cost of the voice plan), but then it was a moot point and we lost any savings because of this additional phone.  This is happening in Denver.  Are they doing this now in other areas of the country to make up for lost revenue from the new pricing scheme?
Other than this issue, I've been totally happy wtih Verizon and their service, but this new marketing tactic is leaving a sour taste in my mouth.   I have not bothered contacting them either.  I figured they were protected by some legal speak that her dad was supposed to read or have seen.  If it had been me, I would have know to ask what the data plan cost was.

it's not a tactic or scheme or anything like that. it was $10 to add a "line." if he had got a basic phone, it would have only increased your bill by $10. he chose a smart phone. smart phones require the data plan. now, the sales rep may not have been clear enough about adding a smart phone, but technically it's $10 to add a line. it's also clearly stated in the contract that he would have had to sign. i know most of us don't read those, but it's actually fairly small (the entire contract fits on a receipt that about a foot long). unfortunately, you only have 14 days to return a phone and i am assuming your past that. what you CAN do, however, is find an old phone (or buy a cheap, basic phone on ebay or craigslist) and activate it on your daughter's line. at that point you are allowed to drop the data plan. you may have to pay $50-100 for a different phone, but it beats $720 ($30/month for 2 years).
this is what my son has and is more than capable for texting, calls, pics, and videos:
    http://www.ebay.com/ctg/LG-Octane-VN530-Dark-brown-Verizon-Cellular-Phone-/102379964?_refkw=lg+octane&_pcatid=801&_odkw=verizon+basic+phone&_pcategid=15032&LH_ItemCondition=2000%7C2500&_osacat=0&_dmpt=Cell_Phones
what i would do is buy one of these and activate it on her line and then either sell the new smartphone (and actually come out ahead) or use it as sort of an ipod on wifi only.

  • No Password for iCloud email Freaks out iPad

    Hi there,
I just synced my email accounts with my iPad 2 (current iOS). All went well except I can't get any emails from my iCloud service (Irony?). I have had this apple ID for years, and I used it to sign up for iCloud. When I signed up for iCloud, it asked me what email address I wanted  for my iCloud email, so i picked one. At no time was I asked for a password. If I look at my iCloiud email account in Mail, I have no password in the feild, and it checks and retrieves my iCloud email, no problem. My iPad, however, won't touch my iCloud email because there's no password. I tried my Apple ID password. Nope. I tried to manually addiing my iCloud email to the iPad, after deleting the synced account, but it won't add an account until a password has been entered. What do I do?
    Thanks in advance.
    Malcolm

Fixed it by Deleting the entire iCloud service from my iPad and then signed in to iCloud from the iPad again.

  • Will Firefox be adding support for .bit domains?

There is a new decentralized domain name system that has been built called namecoin. The problem is that no browsers support it currently so the only to view the domains is through complicated software or proxies. I am wondering if there are any plans on adding support for this system to Firefox?

Not directly as is looks like dns.bit is not working, but it looks like you need a proxy [http://dot-bit.org/HowToBrowseBitDomains#Use_a_DNS_server_that_support_.bit_domains]
    Have you tried this?
Also Firefox will simply 'asks the system to resolve a fqdn'(ty Cork!)

  • Script for adding a login item for all accounts in the system

    Hi,
Thanks for reading this query. I am new to the mac environment. I have developed a java application and created an installer of this application for MAC system.I want to run this application on starting the system. So I have written an apple script for adding this application in login items and this script will run immediately after completing installation process. And the entire process is fine. But the problem is, the application is added to login items of only the user who installed the application. But I want to get available the application in the login list of all accounts created in the system. How can I achieve this? Once more thanks in advance. I am attaching my script below:
    +*tell application "System Events"*+
+* make login item at end with properties {path:"/Applications/MyApplication.app", hidden:true}*+

  • Family account for child as a parent with out an Apple product?

How do I set up an account for a minor  or a family account if I don't have any apple products myself?  I want to be able to approve her purchases and make sure it is safe.   The PC versions of Itunes and Icloud have no family capabilities.

Just to add a little more ..
I made an account, for me  on her ipod, created a family plan, added a child account to that.  Then I logged off. Signed back in as the child. The child asked for approval to buy an app. I can not approve this anywhere else other than by signing out as the child and then signing back in as the adult.  There is no way to approve or set up family accounts on a non mac PC or non IOS system.  Is a serious problem as a parent.

  • Transferring purchases out of my iTunes account and into new accounts for my kids

I have had an itunes account for a number of years.  My children (when younger) purchased music, games, videos, etc through this account for the ipods, itouches, etc.  We now have iphones for each teen and would like to give them their own accounts so that only their purchases appear on their phones, ipods, etc and only mine appear on my phone, ipad, etc.  I would set up 2 new accounts and transfer the items directly from mine into the appropriate child's account.  How do I accomoplish this?  Since we own the purchase, I dont see any reason why we should not be able to move that purchase into another account (not copying it, but more like cutting it out of the existing account and moving it into the new one).  If we are not able to do this, we are talking about hundreds of dollars in re-purchases.

You canot transfer content to another account.
Just authorize their computers for your account so they can sycn the apps to their devices.
