RECENT DECEPTIVE PRICING FOR ADDING PHONE FOR CHILDREN

We recently got a phone for our daughter becauser her dad was informed by the salesperson it only costs $10 a month.  However, her dad doesn't pay the bills and did not realize there was a separate $30 data charge.  So my 10 year old daugther (whom I wouldn't let have a cell phone, but dad thought it was so cheap and went ahead and got her one) now has a $40/month smart phone, while I have a $20/month basic phone.  She only uses it for texting primarily, so you can imagine I was quite irritated when he came home with it. 
One of her friend's mother's was also informed it was "Only $10" to add the phone for her daughter and is also not stuck with the $40/month bill.  I was so thrilled when the month before Verizon modified their pricing and allowed us to separate the data and texting charges (and they lowered the monthly cost of the voice plan), but then it was a moot point and we lost any savings because of this additional phone.  This is happening in Denver.  Are they doing this now in other areas of the country to make up for lost revenue from the new pricing scheme? 
Other than this issue, I've been totally happy wtih Verizon and their service, but this new marketing tactic is leaving a sour taste in my mouth.   I have not bothered contacting them either.  I figured they were protected by some legal speak that her dad was supposed to read or have seen.  If it had been me, I would have know to ask what the data plan cost was. 

it's not a tactic or scheme or anything like that. it was $10 to add a "line." if he had got a basic phone, it would have only increased your bill by $10. he chose a smart phone. smart phones require the data plan. now, the sales rep may not have been clear enough about adding a smart phone, but technically it's $10 to add a line. it's also clearly stated in the contract that he would have had to sign. i know most of us don't read those, but it's actually fairly small (the entire contract fits on a receipt that about a foot long). unfortunately, you only have 14 days to return a phone and i am assuming your past that. what you CAN do, however, is find an old phone (or buy a cheap, basic phone on ebay or craigslist) and activate it on your daughter's line. at that point you are allowed to drop the data plan. you may have to pay $50-100 for a different phone, but it beats $720 ($30/month for 2 years).

what i would do is buy one of these and activate it on her line and then either sell the new smartphone (and actually come out ahead) or use it as sort of an ipod on wifi only.

    Since this is the second computer you've had this problem with, I recommend you look for answers on the iPhone forum. My thinking is it is an iPhone issue rather than a computer issue (unless it is some software incompatibility).

    If all basic troubleshooting has been tried and a restore as new does not resolve, take it to Apple for evalation and possible replacement.

  • How to best add VoiceOver accessibility for children's graphic books?

    iBooks Author seems fairly intuitive for the most part with the exception of adding accessibility (VoiceOver) for children's graphic books.
    My story is written as a rhyme and prefer the story to be heard as initial (or primary) VoiceOver after each page advance. That said, because of the (lower) story line page/screen placement (see image) other VoiceOver details are heard first. Because the story is written as a rhyme I found it a broken user experience and frustrating for those in need of the VoiceOver tool during testing (turning on VO in settings).
    I think I fashioned a work around (adding the story line to the graphic images, as well as where the story copy appears)—but at the sacrifice of removing image details (that a blind reader may want to hear) and repeating the story.
    All that said, am I missing something in iBooks Author? Is there a way to manage how I want the VoiceOver to read in sequence on the screen? If not, are there other best practices I could employ?

    There have been several recent threads where the user is trying to install Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 on Windows 7 64 bit and has been running into MPEG2 Activation message. When the user follows the message to get the MPEG2 Activation, the end message says that the MPEG2 Activation is no longer supported by Adobe and your version. Is that the situation that you are in?
    The MPEG2 Activation is one of those first time use/one time only activations that should go on behind the scenes when you have an active Internet connection. Is that the message that you are getting, and do you have a working Internet connection?
    The following has worked for a few
    1. If the program is installed in Control Panel/Programs, then uninstall it the usual way.
    2. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner) to get rid of leftovers from incomplete uninstalls/reinstalls

  • Upgrade pricing for Master Suite CS5

    Over the years and recently, I have purchased the following products:
    1. Dreamweaver, followed by Studio 8
    2. PhotoShop CS, and CS2
    3. Adobe Acrobat Pro (Latest version!)
    4. Flash (Flex) Builder 4 Premium
    After having owned all these products, Adobe still wants me to buy a full version of Master Suite CS5, and won't offer the upgrade pricing for it. That seems too harsh, and is honestly discouraging me from purchasing any of their products.
    I completely understand that one cannot upgrade to CS5 suites based on a single product. But I have several of their products, and like them. I simply fail to understand why they won't allow upgrades when someone owns legit multiple products. Why would I buy a whole suite and duplicate products. Why not let users upgrade into a suite with multiple (single) products? 3, 4, 5, however many they can figure out would be equitable.

    Don't expect a discount for adding a second host. I don't believe there are any discounts available for the accounts purchased through Adobe's web site.

          We are replicating sales order processing using Webdynpro(Portal).In that we are done with sales order Create,Change,Display except pricing for new custom condition types.
    The rquirement is whenever the user added new custom Condition Type along with the Condition amount for the line item the net value for the line item should be recalculated and should be dispalyed in the screen.
    I have searched for any BAPI or Function Module to calculate the pricing in Simulation mode and return the Netvalue for the Sales order line item.But no luck.I need to know is there any BAPI or FM avaliable for the same?

             Thanks for the reply.I think you are not getting my point.We dont have any issues in SAP GUI.We are developing Sale order screen in Webdynpro and in that we have to handle the pricing part.Means that whatever operation user can do in pricing (like changing the condition amount and immediately net value will get upadted) in SAP GUI,has to be done using Webdynpro(portal) as well.To do changes in Pricing condition type and amount at webdynpro side,we have to simulate the pricing using  BAPI inorder to recalculate the net value and display it on the webdynpro screen.Please tell me is ther any FM or BAPI to calculate the pricing.

    There is no hanky panky going on at all. There are many many users who will gladly pay a small fortune for an iPhone that they can do with as they please that is not tied to ATT. What they do with it is their business once they purchase it, but it runs the eBay listings up pretty much to full price.
    The current listings for the iPhone 3G 16 GB average about 320.00 for final sales according to the eBay estimate search.

    Log in to your account, and move all your files to your home folder. No other users should be able to access them there and they won't show up with a Spotlight search.
    Make sure your kids' account(s) do not have admin privileges.

    Please ensure that you are using Adobe Acrobat and not Reader to convert PDF file to word or excel.
    Could you tell me whether it is a scanned document? Does this happen with all PDFs or any specific one?
    Do you get any error message? What exactly happens when you try doing the same?

    The process to update your Tom Tom is a big data file, you will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network for it to download.  If will take about an hour.

    check this configuation steps.
    1. define the condition type from NA00 to Za00.
    2. define access sequence by selecting new entries as Zaoo and maintian the tables and fields.
    3. linK the access seq to ur condition type.
    condition type   (created)                    access sequence (created)
    ZA00                                                     ZA00
    4. Maintain the free goods determination procedure from the std. one NA0000 and copy it as Za0000. and maintain ur condition type in the procedure.
    5. after all maintain these free goods procedure to ur sales area.
    ex: in normal scenario u will be assigning ur sales area to ur standard pricing procedure as
    S.orgD.ChDivA1 + Pr00. but for the free goods u have to maintain as it is to ur std. pricing procedure except document pricing procedure as C - denotes free goods.
    6. finally maintain condition records thru VBN1. (there would be a option as inclusive and exclusive). u opt it according to ur requirements.
    definetely if you follow those steps, 100% error will not throw while u r creating the sales order.
