Added records and transferred records

What is the difference between "transferred records" and "added records" in Infocube-> manage->requests ??
Karthik

Hi Karthik,
You may have 2 records in the source data with same characteristic values. Then these two will be sumarized and added as a single record.
say suppose:
C01   M01   100   200
C01   M02   200   400
Now only one record is added to Infocube
C01   M01   300   600
-> When there are multiple records with in a same request with same characteristic combinations, They will be summarized while updated to Cube.
In the above case: No. transferred records = 2
No. Records Added = 1
In this kind of scenarios... Always No. transferred records will be more or equal to Added records.
Some scenarios like where You split records into multiple records using Time distribution or return table... Example: You have monthly revenues in a flat file. But you want to split them into weekly records(based on averege model) and load to Cube. In this kind of scenarios the Added records will be more that Transferred records.
So-> Dont expect the added records = Transferred records always.
Hope this helps.

  • Missing "Add Records" and "Refresh Records" options for data sets post domain re-import

    We recently had to re-install the Endeca server and as part of which had to export and re-import the data domains. Everything went fine except for the fact that newly re-imported data sets showcase just the "Manage Attributes" and the "Delete Data Set" options for an administrator login in. The previously available options to "Add Records" and "Refresh Records" beyond manage attributes/Delete Data Set are missing.
    Thoughts? Is there a security setting to enable these?

    So are you talking about the Add Records and Reload Records options for a data set in Studio?
    There are no separate security settings for these options. If a user is an application administrator (is able to edit the application), then they should have access to these options.
    The options are only available for data domains created using the Provisioning Service (created by uploading a file or from the JDBC or BI Server data source from the Data Source Library).
    I don't know if the process of exporting and re-importing the data domains (not sure how you did that) could somehow cause the data sets to no longer know that they were created by the Provisioning Service, in which case those options would not be enabled.

  • DB Connect DataSource PSA records and DSO records are not matching...

    Dear All,
    I'm working with SAP NetWeaver BW 7.3 and for the first time, I have loaded from Source System DB Connect. I have created a DataSource and pulled all records and found 8,136,559 records in PSA. When I designed and created DSO with Key Fields 0CALDAY, Item No and Company Code, it has transferred records about 8,136,559 and added records about 12,534 only. Similarly following InfoCube has about 12,534 records into its Fact table. When I tried to reconcile the data/records with source DBMS for a month, the records/data could not matched?
    1. What could be the reason behind the issue? why I am unable to load the records/data correctly?
    2. Have I not mentioned the Key Fields of DSO in a correct manner?
    3. Is it possible to load the records/data into DSO without giving any field as Key Fields?
    4. How should I resolve this issue?
    5. Is it could be of DSO Overwrite and summation function utilization if yes, then how to utilize it?
    Many thanks,
    Tariq Ashraf

    Dear Tariq,
    1. What could be the reason behind the issue? why I am unable to load the records/data correctly?
    Ans:  Check transformation once. Is there any start routine you have used or direct assignments. What kind of DTP settings you have done.
    Check the messages at the DTP monitor. You will surely find some clue. Any duplicate records are being detected or not check once if you are using semantic keys in your DTP.
    2. Have I not mentioned the Key Fields of DSO in a correct manner?
    Ans:  The transformation key and the DSo key are they same in your case?
    What kind of DSO is it? Like for sales order DSO you take Order number as a key field., So you have to define the key fields according to business semantics I suppose. Do you agree?
    3. Is it possible to load the records/data into DSO without giving any field as Key Fields?
    Ans:  I dont think so as the keys you defined will help in having unique data records isnot it?
    4. How should I resolve this issue?
    Ans: Please check the above as in Ans:1 please share your observation.
    5. Is it could be of DSO Overwrite and summation function utilization if yes, then how to utilize it?
    Ans: DSO overwriting of key figures is useful when you have full loads in picture. Are you always going to perform full loads ?
    For reference would you like to check this thread:  Data fileds and key fields in DSO
    Lets see what experts give their inputs.
    Thank You...

  • Please help with A record and MX record!

    Guys please help - our IT guy disappeared and we changed the hosting over the weekend. He did setup exchange server for all the emails so now i am trying to recreate all the settings in bluehost for email and the bluehost is asking whats A record for our
    Exchange server. Forgive me but i am not an IT guy... where do i find the A record for our exchange server? I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could point me into that direction.

    If the DNS A record for mail.mydomainname.com is currently pointing to your Exchange server's external IP address then I would imagine that's setup correctly.
    Name servers are those used to find out where to get the DNS records for a domain, eg it tells people doing a DNS lookup the address of your DNS server(s) so they can query them to find the required records. As such I'm unsure whether you actually mean name
    servers or not.
    Anything that ends in a .local address is definitely a local record, eg it is only used internally on your local network. On the internet there's no such thing as .local, so server1.mywebsite.local definitely wouldn't be the address you'd put into your public
    DNS records. Do you mean that in Outlook when you look at the server address that you connect to collect email that it is displaying server1.mywebsite.local? If so then that's completely separate to where mail is delivered.
    With the CNAME and MX records I'd suspect that they'd remain the same if they currently point to the mail.mydomain.com address, if they point elsewhere then you might well need to update them.
    What confuses me is what is it that's been changed with your hosting? You say you've changed, and presumably bluehost are the new hosting company, but not what has changed to them. Do you mean the domain has transferred to them, or just the website, or your
    internet access or something else?. You say that via the bluehost dns editor mail already points to mail.mydomainname.com, so it sounds to me as if the relevant records have already been setup and are working. Is email failing to be sent / received currently?

  • Source record and Trailor record

    Hi All, I have a requirement to validate the source record count with the trailor record count. And pass value futher if matches else abort the load and generate email. I have separated header and footer info in one table and detail record to one table.  Now how can i count my total source record and looking on headertrailor table pass value for trailor record and compare both. There is no common field with source table and headertrailor table. How to return trailor record.  Please suggest.

    Hi  All, I have a scenario. Below is the source record. field1|field2|field3|field4|field5|field6|field7
    5|20150329|1|980100001|500|My name is Lalita|25
    5|20150329|1|303444442|200|My name is |Lalita.I work in TCS|26
    5|20150329|1|442101001|1000|My name is Lalita.I worked Syntel|56
    5|20150329|1|446788900|300|My name|67  My source file is | separator. But for field6 the data might come with '|'.
    So I want to import the data along with '|' after separating all field in Informatica Layer.  Source team is not going to preformat the file. Please suggest how to achive this.

  • Diffrence between JRA recording and Flight recording?

    The latest jrockit has two recording options JRA and Flight recording. What is the difference?
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
    In the latest version (R28.x) you can only make flight recordings. JRA was the predecessor to Flight Recorder, used by R27.x and earlier releases.
    The main differences are
    * Flight Recorder can always be turned on (and we recommend you have it on) so you can flush the last x minutes of data to disk when you run into problems.
    * Flight Recorder can record information higher up in the stack, e.g database qúeries, EJB calls, webservices etc
    * Flight Recorder has more information about the JVM, e.g exception profiling and more detailed GC-data.
    * Flight Recorder has less overhead (<1% with the default settings) and there are more ways to configure it so you only record what you need.
    * Flight Recorder has a better GUI for viewing the recorded data, a GUI that is continously improved upon.
    Best regards
    Erik

  • Selected and Transferred records

    Hi Gurus:
    Please suggest the ways to improve the ratio of Selected & Trasferred records to be as close to 1.
    Is there a way to understand how it gets the records..I mean the stats on a query(thru RSRT) says selected 100,000 & transferred 50,000
    Is there a way to get the same records by SQL if we run indepedently... outside RSRT, directly on the tables.
    Any suggestions will greatly help. I would love to assign the points.
    Thanks & Regards.

    I am not sure i understood the question but will try-
    In transaction ST03 (using Expert Mode) you can monitor your BW system load. There you can see the number of Selected (DBSEL) vs Transferred (DBTRANS) records.
    BTW - you can also query table RSDDSTAT in SE16 to find out this info.
    A high number for this ratio means that you are selecting much more records that those needed to be transfered, and the solution for this is almost always to create an aggregate.
    The rule of thumb is DBSEL/DBTRANS > 10 then you should create an aggregate.
    Hope it helps,
    Gilad

  • Insert Multiple Records and newest record id

    where I need to get the prodid (Autonumber column) for the record
    that was just inserted so I can insert that number into the catfit
    table under the prodid column (number column). So this what I
    hoping to get in the end.
    When someone submits this form it will add the data to the
    prodmat table and grab the prodid generated from the new record.
    Then instert a new record for each of the catid select boxes into
    the catfit table. so something like this.
    If they select all three categories upon the submit it would
    add to the catfit table for each record:
    molid = 1
    catid = 2
    prodid = 16 (for instance this would be the newest record
    added to the prodmat table)
    molid = 1
    catid = 6
    prodid = 16
    molid = 1
    catid = 8
    prodid = 16
    Please help I am loosing my hair over this!

    No. Don't do that. It would produce the same results you were
    getting before ie. the values for all three records would be the
    same.
    Number the CDI fields just like you're doing with form.catID.
    So each set of values is grouped by number
    form.catId1, form.CDI1
    form.catId2, form.CDI2
    form.catId3, form.CDI3
    Then extract the values inside your loop and use them in your
    UPDATE
    <cfloop index="LoopCount" from=1
    to=#Val(form.locCount)#>
    <cfset variables.locID= form["locID"& LoopCount] >
    <cfset variables.catid = form["catid" &
    LoopCount]>
    <cfset variables.CDI = form["CDI" & LoopCount]>
    </cfloop>
    Though you may not actually need an UPDATE here. Another
    option might be to do a DELETE of all existing records for a
    product, followed by an INSERT.

  • Update old records and new records to ODS.

    Hi Experts,
    Our requirement: Want to know a method to reset the Recordmode field in Start/Update routine.
    We have 3 ODS. as the picture.
    ODS_2
    ODS_3   (look-up)
    ODS_1
    ODS_3 is lookup table in start routine of ODS_2. We load via delta daily from ODS_1 to ODS_2. In that we have code in start routine as follows:
    DATA: it_tab TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF /bic/aods_100 WITH HEADER LINE.
      CLEAR it_tab[].
      SELECT *
          FROM /bic/aods_100
          INTO TABLE it_tab
          FOR ALL ENTRIES IN DATA_PACKAGE
          WHERE /bic/main_io = DATA_PACKAGE-/bic/main_io.
      LOOP AT it_tab
        WHERE /bic/attr2_nav = ''    (null)
        OR /bic/attr2_nav = ' '.
        delete data_package where /bic/attr2_nav  = it_tab-/bic/attr2_nav.
      ENDLOOP.
    if abort is not equal zero, the update process will be canceled
      ABORT = 0.
    For the above code we are deleting the data_package. But we want the same record to come tomorrow as new record into the data_package, so that if the the field /bic/attr2_nav is not null we can update it.
    But our problem is that once we say delete data_package that record is not updating in the next delta load.
    Please help for this issue.

    You can't set the recordmode on a record in any way that will make it get sent again in the next delta load.  In your data mart scenario BI is keeping track of which records have been sent to the target at the request level.  So, once you have run a delta load from ODS_1 to ODS_2 the Data Mart Status of the Request is set.  You can re-send the whole request by resetting the Data Mart Status of the Request, but you can't selectively re-send individual records from an already processed request.
    Instead, I think you need to redesign your model like this:
    Add the lookup characteristic to ODS_1.  Create a self-update from 8ODS_1 --> ODS_1 and in the start routine perform the lookup on ODS_3 and populate that value into ODS_1.  Create a full load InfoPackage from 8ODS_1 --> ODS_1 and on the data selection tab filter for the lookup value = # (blank).  This will populate the lookup characteristic into ODS_1 from ODS_3 when it is found.
    In the start routine from 8ODS_1 --> ODS_2 delete all the records out of the data package where the lookup field is blank.
    So the steps to load would be:
    1) Load ODS_1 from whatever its source is
    2) Run the self-update from 8ODS_1 --> ODS_1
    3) Run the delta from 8ODS_1 --> ODS_2
    Run these every day or however often you perform the load.
    I think that should give you the desired behavior -- that all records from ODS_1 only flow through to ODS_2 when the lookup against ODS_3 is successful, regardless of whether that is true when a record is first loaded into ODS_1 or only becomes true later after ODS_3 is updated.

  • Re MX records and A records

    I am using muse and launched a website only to find my clients emails are not reaching me!!
    I had purchased the domain from another provider and point them to the business catalyst site for the website and all works well but not for email..
    Their support said
    I have checked the bounce back message, the reason why the email bounced back because the domain foundonpurpose.com has no MX record. According to the bounce back message, it  indicates that we've attempted to make a connection with your recipient's server but didn't receive a reply. To rectify this issue, please point back the domain name to Fasthosts nameservers so that the MX record will point to our mailserver. Since your website is hosted on another hosting provider, just edit the A record of your domain to point to 192xxxxxxxx. Currently your A record points to that IP address.

    Hi
    I see that foundonpurpose.com dont have any MX record set.
    As the site is in web basic site plan , you would need to use external email hosting.
    Try to add the external mail server information while creating new MX record in domain settings.

  • Best  way  to  record  and  store  recorded  radio  programmes

    Hi-I have just aquired 66 and a half hours of the late great UK DJ John Peel radio show.They are all on video with just the sound.I would like to record them into the mac and then transfer this onto CD or DVD if I can.I have Sound Studio installed and have managed to record some Lp's and transfer them onto CD.So maybe i could use that-although i saw in a magazine recently that you can use Garage Band to record stuff on (although i have not bought the magazine yet).My geuss is that i would have to record them into/as MP3-which would mean i could get more onto CD or DVD.Does anyone have any pointers about the easiest way i could do this and if i would get 66 and a half hours onto one CD or DVD ? As I have never attempted to do this before. (or how many Cd's or DVD's it would take to store 66 and a half hours ?).Any tips please would be much appreciated
    thanks
    rick
    ps- i have been told that the recordings are of high quality mostly-so any pointers about the quality of recording i would need to make it do it in for the quality to remain high ?
    pss-i do not yet have a device to connect my video recorder to the computer-but my geuss is i would be able to connect it via the sound output plugs-if their are any on the video recorder ?

    I think storing it in the application server directory would probably allow for faster access, is easier to code, and doesn't depend on db connectivity.
    As for the unique id, you could probably use the File.createTemporaryFile method--it returns a unique id for every file in a directory, given a prefix & suffix. You just have to remember to change the extension from a .tmp to the image format you're using.
    Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

    its value from a field within that same table. There is no other
    data entered by the user in any other form fields. The info the
    form submits comes from: rsDate1Avail.Fields.Item("Date01").Value
    I would like if the same Submit button could also update a
    record in a second table (registrants) at the same time. I would
    like to submit the same info that comes from the hidden field to
    the second table. So it would be two actions occurring that both
    insert and update in 2 different tables from one submit button. Is
    this possible?
    Here is the code for the existing form action:
    <%
    If (CStr(Request("MM_insert")) = "submitDate1") Then
    If (Not MM_abortEdit) Then
    ' execute the insert
    Dim MM_editCmd
    Set MM_editCmd = Server.CreateObject ("ADODB.Command")
    MM_editCmd.ActiveConnection = MM_MumConn_STRING
    MM_editCmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO CountDate01 (Date01)
    VALUES (?)"
    MM_editCmd.Prepared = true
    MM_editCmd.Parameters.Append
    MM_editCmd.CreateParameter("param1", 135, 1, -1,
    MM_IIF(Request.Form("hiddenField"), Request.Form("hiddenField"),
    null)) ' adDBTimeStamp
    MM_editCmd.Execute
    MM_editCmd.ActiveConnection.Close
    ' append the query string to the redirect URL
    Dim MM_editRedirectUrl
    MM_editRedirectUrl = "form_FT_4.asp"
    If (Request.QueryString <> "") Then
    If (InStr(1, MM_editRedirectUrl, "?", vbTextCompare) = 0)
    Then
    MM_editRedirectUrl = MM_editRedirectUrl & "?" &
    Request.QueryString
    Else
    MM_editRedirectUrl = MM_editRedirectUrl & "&" &
    Request.QueryString
    End If
    End If
    Response.Redirect(MM_editRedirectUrl)
    End If
    End If
    %>

    Yes. Use a command on the redirect page to update the data.
    No, wait, the
    ASP COMMAND IMPLEMENTATION IS BROKEN IN CS3, and remains
    broken in CS4. So
    sorry, you'll have to hand-code it.
    Sorry, I'm just a little bit bitter about the callous
    attitude Adobe has
    shown in fixing the KNOWN BUGS IN THEIR SOFTWARE.
